23-Nov-24
After tons of Bush bashing it was located. Not sure why it took so long though

05-Dec-23
In the area finding a few caches, we made sure to add this one to our to-list whilst nearby... We liked the little trail that headed in the direction of GZ, however fallen trees meant that soon ended & we found ourselves just pushing on up the hill SurprisedJase made the find here before we decided the best route back to the car... TFTC nissan, nice to be finding another of yours - not sure why this one has taken us so long WinkBig Grin

22-Nov-23
Nice quick find once I found the best direction to tackle the shrubbery from. I'd debate the term trail on this one and was super grateful i was wearing gaiters today!! Unfortunately not the best weather for it today but still a beautiful view. Tftc

15-Jul-23
After some bush bashing up to GZ the cache was soon in hand. Tftc nissan.

30-Apr-23
The MICKs have decided it was time for a caching adventure north of the river to find a few caches that have been on their radar for awhile. Today we managed to find a great variety of caches. Thanks to the CO’s for placing for our enjoyment.

30-Apr-23
While some of the younger members ran up the hill others fought their way through the scrub.
Once we got to GZ the container was located quickly and we started back to the cars.

A conversation a few weeks ago and a plan hatched to head north for a day of caching with the full MICKS crew (Meme28, I C Nothing, Kapelula, SirFancy & myself) as well as a couple of junior team members too.
The goal was to tackle some of the older caches still in the game and a few solved puzzles along the way.
A day full of fun, adventuring and laughs had me finishing with 15 finds & 0 DNF’s.

Thanks nissan for placing Waukolup Hill for me and others to find.
I added my name to the log at 15:06 on 30/4/2023.
This is find number 7096 for me.

30-Apr-23
MICKS crew out caching about again, finding north of the river today.

This is my 4572 find.
Thank you nissan for placing and maintaining this cache.

Geology rocks but Geography is where it’s at!
(I’m not a geologist I just like puns)

30-Apr-23
The MICKS team is making the use of a gorgeous WA day hitting certain caches north of the river. Cache was found and logged with much effort here! Worth ticking off the oldie!
Cheers

21-Apr-23
Out and about again, a beautiful day, and half a day spare so packed the bike in the car and headed north of the river. Cleaned up Burns Beach with some caches requiring some bush bashing. Only 1 DNF so that was good.

Found a variety of hides and in different areas which made for a nice day. Generally quick finds today

Thanks to all the CO’s for the hides I found.

20-Sep-22
I didn't take the goat track as listed. Partly because its quite vegetated, secondly, because it traverses some flora rehab work that has been done along the coastal path. There is another old track I took to GZ, found via a satellite image. Its not to bad a journey via this route (apart from the climb at the end....lol). If anyone wants a .gpx file of the track, let me know.

18-Sep-22
After 4392 days since i first found about this cache, i have finally signed the log. A fitting tribute to my 500th find. Thanks so much Allen. Great to see this oldie is still in play.

11-Sep-22
Quite a slog to get here. TFTC

18-Aug-22
Found on a trip to the west from South Australia.

It was a beautiful day today, so after the early morning breakfast event I headed out to do a few caches of interest, including this old one.

Thanks nissan for the cache.

13-Apr-22
Wondering around a bit got it at last

09-Jan-22
This one has been on our radar for quite some time. Made the GeoSon come with me as payback for making the trek this way for some gaming gear. We walked a little further along the path as suggested by a previous finder and found the trail up. It was quite an easy find as the cache was laying out in the open. We signed the log and hid the cache near where it was found. TFTH!

02-Oct-21
Found it! Nice hide and nice spot Smile

14-Sep-21
Tricky to get to this one but worth the effort tftc

31-Jul-21
Bit damp..still good

20-May-21
Thank you, lovely view

06-Apr-21
Taking advantage of a work- and baby-free morning, I decided to collect a couple of higher terrain caches. I was very thankful for Balayang's waypointsfor this one, otherwise I wouldn't have found my way in. I wasn't prepared for this terrain, which involved a fair bit of bush bashing, even while on the path! Hopefully I'm not taking any ticks home with me...I recommend taking the longer walk and utilising the gate to get past the fence, as I decided to short cut over the fence and ended up with a tear in my pants I loved the views on the way up to GZ, especially over the construction site - I can only imagine how different the view was when this cache was placed. All-in-all this was a great adventure, and well worth the trek. TFTC nissan

23-Mar-21
That climb certainly got the heart racing!

Very much worth it for the panoramic view .

23-Mar-21
I attempted what I thought would be a short cut down the other side of the dune.

It was a mistake.

14-Nov-20
A flying visit NOR. Still time for a couple of caches. Thanks for this one

20-Oct-20
Coordinates changed from:
S 31° 42.298 E 115° 42.890

Coordinates changed to:
S 31° 42.301 E 115° 42.894

Distance from original: 27.7 feet or 8.4 meters.

Coordinates updated on behalf of the community maintainer, to help keep this old cache going.
Also added two waypoints for gate and track, and removed Needs Maintenance flag.

08-Oct-20
After dropping my daughter off at Joondalup shops with a friend I headed up this way as I had a couple of hours free before picking them up.
Parked just north of #6 and worked my way backwards collecting the series plus a couple of others on the way. Great place for a scooter expedition! All caches were found pretty quickly.
Was in the area and have had this on my radar. New bikepath makes access a bit easier. Took a few minutes but eventually found the hide. TFTC

10-Mar-20
Took a while to track this down - coords 8 metres out for us.
An early morning start clearing up a bunch of NOR caches. We loaded up the bike so this section of caches could be tackled before the heat sets in.
TFTC nissan this is find #9423 for us.

20-Feb-20
Good hard walking uphill on hot arvo with a bit of breeze. GZ is bit out of place around 7 metres, found the cache on top of rabbit burrow. TFTH

03-Jan-20
I have taken away our replacement from 29/07/2019 now that stickyfeet's replacement from 2015 has been found again. We are back to just a black screwtop container being in play. Access is more difficult now as the new path is fenced, but there is a gate at S 31° 42.195 E 115° 42.881 or if you are ok with jumping the fence, the goat track starts at S31° 42.242 E115° 42.939.

02-Jan-20
Found it. TFTC nissan. Escaped from the new path to attempt the climb. Couldn’t find a good path so I left a bit more DNA than I expected. Thanks to olthomas for providing better co-ords in the log of 10-11-15 and also replacing it. What a great view, shame about the battle scars I’ll have.

02-Jan-20
Found the old container and the replacement, less than 2m apart. Have placed them back as per the last photo from olthomas. See my photos for another spoiler pic.

Headed North with Cravo10 to cleanup the new Burning to Mindarie caches and some others that have been on the “to do” list for a while.

Managed 15 finds for the afternoon which was a good result after a really long walk on the new track and either side of it too. We started off on Longstaff Rd to grab a few caches in the dunes before starting at one end of the track not realising the other end was the middle of nowhere aswell and would result in a 600m walk across the dunes to where our second car was parked - a very long and tough slog.

Was greatful for the aircon and a cold drink at the car as we were “gassed” from the walk.

Grabbed a few others on the way into Yanchep and again on the route home.

Thanks to sharkcaver and the other local COs for a great arvo out.

02-Jan-20
Got the usual “are you busy” today and replied with “where are you thinking”

An hour later we were starting our walk, just didn’t have shorts spare in the car so steel caps and long pants had to do!

Good thing for a breeze and slightly cooler weather TFTH TFTC

29-Jul-19
After a couple of DNFs I went for a look-see. It's never a chore to come up here! The cache was nowhere to be seen and I know exactly where it was, so I have replaced it with a small eclipse tub camo'ed with black tape and paint under a "suspicious pile of sticks". Adding a bit of a spoiler pic looking north at GZ as well. Amended co-ords continue to be accurate.

15-May-19
Very similar experience as the past log, finally made it up there after braving the poorly defined paths and then searched for a while at GZ but with so much scrub and worrying about what slithery creatures we might find we left with no find today. Don't think I'll be in a hurry to come back out here, took way longer than expected

02-Apr-19
So gutted. This was extremely difficult for my dog and I. We went every possible long way both to the spot and from the spot. I cant even begin to explain how the last 3 hours of my day panned out. Needless to say, i almost became the protagonist of my own 127 hours movie. I completely underestimated the journey and found nothing. And the worst part? I enjoyed it damn you. Don't know how keen I will be to head back there without a bit more experience under my belt though. On the bright side, found a neat skull.

24-Aug-18
Apologies for the late log, I recently found some torn pages from my notebook in the bottom of my caching bag which had finds on there from around this time that I thought were lost! I had resigned myself to having to re-visit the caches but I'm relieved to now be logging them instead Smile Late log but no chance I'd forget this cache though, the climb was a tough bush bash all the way and the search at the top took ages! Awesome feeling once up there but after that climb I spent around 30mins searching everywhere as I couldn't face walking away with a DNF. Eventually paid off and when I finally made the find I let out a cheer, lol. Maybe the time of year but I didn't see 'goat trails' to ease the path back down, instead it was another tough trek to get back to the car. Round trip from the car (including searching) took me 2 hours - I was knackered, lol. Great location though - TFTC

14-Jun-18
I decided to knock this one off during a trail run in the area. Lovely warm winters day. It’s not until I reached the top that I realised that I’ve been looking at this hill for years as I drove south from Mindarie. Finally climbed it. Coordinates were off, so I found others left by previous people. Also photos aren’t the same, so no good looking for a large plastic container. Anyway, great view and I have very sore legs now. TFTC

21-Apr-18
Wow. That's my weekly exercise! Took ages to get up, as i took the wrong path. And a quarter of the time to get down. It's easy to see the ' goat paths ' from the top. TFTC, terrific views and thank goodness there was a breeze to cool me down.

18-Jan-18
Thanks for the cache all is healthy had a great morning jog through the dunes searching these by Nissan. Cheer

03-Aug-16
Thanks for the cache Nissan
This was a fun adventure but made me real tired real quick haha

29-Jul-16
Encouraged by the "Climb Every Mountain" cache, we went off to find the goal of today's geoexpedition. We left Max the geoute at the end of Long Beach Promenade and followed the fence as far as we could, then a path and another path. Using the entry suggested by olthomas or near enough to it, we had minimal bushbash but a bit of a climb. The reward at the top was 2-fold, a nice cache (which will fill a spot in the Hidden Month grid) as well as great views.
Signed the log, left one of our pathtags and replaced the outer ziplock bag which had suffered a bit from the weather. All good now for another 13 years!
Thanks for the cache nissan, its maintenance Stickyfeet and the accurate coords olthomas!
ETA: 1 tick, not too bad really!

29-Jul-16
Max the Geo Ute needed a nice run today and this has been on m4yb's sights for some time and today looked like a great day for it.

Thanks to the locals for keeping this auspicious cache well in play with the horrible threat of the growing population! I really doubt it will last another 13 years, but would be nice if I am wrong.

What an awesome spot with wonderful panoramas. So glad we came today with the start of a nice Nor-westerly blow before a possible stop tonight.

I have given a fav for the spot and the adventure to get here, thanks nissan

27-Jul-16
Perfect morning for a walk and great views from GZ. Hopefully the rest of these dunes will be left untouched instead of being turned into more tennis court-sized blocks. Thank you for the cache Nissan, and also thank you to olthomas for their update and advice, the new coordinates were spot on.

28-May-16
Thank you! I've wanted to get this one for a while, and today seemed like a good day. Thanks to the very helpful note from olthomas, it was not too hard to get to the top of the hill and find the cache. The views from the top were a great reward.

10-Nov-15
Just to consolidate some previous logs, the cache co-ords are S 31° 42.301 E 115° 42.894 and the cache is now a black screw top thanks to stickyfeet. Access is getting more difficult by the day because of the building works to the north. Closest approach is from Marmion Avenue but might be an amount of bush bashing even to get to the bottom of the climb, which is itself definitely a bush bash. I have always started the climb from S31° 42.242 E115° 42.939 as this is at least an obvious goat track up.

07-Nov-15
I'd love to know which way the CO took to place this cache. Took cillordow and I ages to get to it today. We ended going the long way round the hill, through the sand dunes and slowly slogging it to GZ. What an adventure! Once we reached GZ unfortunately we were not quick to find the cache. But given the epic journey we'd taken to get here felt it would be a crime to leave without a find. So another search in a different spot had us the goods in minutes.

Yay!! TFTC this nissan. We had a great time with this one.

07-Nov-15
Found with pennygee. We spent ages trying to decide the best way to get this. Probably didn't take the quickest route, but we got there in the end. Found, signed and began the epic walk back.
TFTC Nissan

30-Aug-15
This cache definitely brought out our inner mountain goat, because as per usual Minergal & I took the most difficult way possible to reach GZ. After an extensive search we found the cache away from the area our gps was taking us. We gave the cache a little TLC, signed the log and headed back to the geoute for a much needed rest! TFTC

30-Aug-15
I'm sure we took the most difficult path to this cache and experienced what a mountain goat must feel like. Coordinates are slightly out, but with the help of one of the pics, managed to locate the cache. Found with the Fabulous Panda. TFTC. Smile

14-Aug-15
Looked for ages but couldn't find it

14-Aug-15
The cache is water damaged
It is about 15 m from the coordinates

18-Jul-15
Took a long time to walk here and another long time to find it, previous logs helped. But it is not a blue kid.

18-Jul-15
Very exhausting walk to the cache, as we missed the track a couple of times and therefore went straight through the bush. We did, luckily, find the track on the way back.
Took about 30mins to find the cache, as it was about 10 metres away from the suggested location. The logbook was in bad condition, the metal spiral was rusted and the papers were soggy and falling apart. Nevertheless, we were still quite happy to find the cache at last.
TFTH nissan

18-Jul-15
Found it after a long walk through the bush.

16-Jun-15
Checked up on this while talking a final walk across the dunes - the earthworks for the new estate start tomorrow. This cache should be fine but a couple of hundred metres North will be obliterated. It's still at the alternative coords and the original log from 2003 lives on, if a bit rusty. Outer bag needs replacing which we will do at some point.

13-May-15
Took me a good 45mins to find. Was initially looking in all the wrong places. Happened to come across it when i changed my pattern of search Smile beautiful view! TFTC

06-Apr-15
Inspired by ask277 success, made the the trek back to gz
Was on the hunt for a good 30 mins before making the find some 15 mtrs from my gz

Great to get that green blob on my cache map Into a smile

I have replaced the blue lid container with a black screw top cylinder similar to the photo attached

Tftc

02-Mar-15
Needs a new container.

02-Mar-15
Decided to go for a walk and have a look for this one even though I wasn't very optimistic after Sticky feet's log. I looked around for a while but was about to give up when I decided to read the description again. This changed my approach and before long I was signing the log. Cache is brittle and broken so maybe the next person to look for this can bring a new medium container. Great spot! Tftc.

14-Nov-14
I have had this big green blob staring at me on cache map for a while, with the intentions of turning it into a smile, This morning was the day I was going to give it a go

Manage to ride my geo bike to within 40m of gz the made the slog up the hill on foot. After surveying the scene at gz i realised this was going to be harder than i first anticipated as bush has grown significantly since the hint photos were taken.

Started at gz and expanded my search for a good hour without success double checking the photos and trying to match the houses in the back ground (There is a lot more of those now), but in the end made the cycle back home unsuccessful, But least i can tell myself now "i gave it a good crack"

will wait and see if anyone else makes a find or if the co has checked up on it before making another attempt

Thanks for the cycle and walk in the bush

10-May-14
Found this one whilst out chasing points for dragonZone. Very successful day all 'round. This one almost had me beat though, and I had all but given up on it. Finally found it some 8 to 10m from gz, and hidden in such a way that no blue lid was showing at all. And there are lots of dead bushes with sticks to choose from up there. Glad I found it because I definitely wouldn't have made the trek a second time. Thanks for the smiley though nissan

06-Feb-14
We always like an old cache and having done Everest Cache previously we knew what we where in for. Our Car GPSr picked a likely spot on the main road for us to stop and we soon spotted the blocked old fire trail. We followed it until close to GZ and then climbed up. Nice views but the houses seem to be getting closer. A bit of a search and we soon made the find. We completed the signing duties and re hid. TFTC

Decided to tackle this one with chooke after we just completed the series just north of here. What a nice view. Tftc

What a great cache! Enjoyed the view and the trek to get there. TFTC

01-Mar-13
Parked on verge and made the log trek up to GZ....great to see the older caches surviving....nearly 10 years old!....cheers nissan

01-Mar-13
Trekked in from Marmion Ave which seemed the quickest and most painless journey. Thanks for the cache nissan.

17-Nov-12
Mrs Felix at work today working for SLAVE DRIVERS Twisted So Mr Felix had a day to play by himself. So after a sleep in and a few morning chores it was off to cache! [^]

This was the first on the list but we had thought he could approach from the North for a shorter walk but the easiest but longer approach still seems to be from Marmion Avenue.

So this cache is now dubbed 'Walkalot' by FelixII. Whilst a little warm, he did enjoy the walk viewing the wildflowers as he made his way to GZ.

Took a little while to locate the cache. He located it about 7m South East of his GZ. Very surprised with it being a new cache and all that there was water in it already. Log was okay safe in it's plastic bag and he emptied the container.

Picked up TB.

TFTC nissan and Thanks to olthomas for the recent maintenance. Hopefully nissan can update the co-ords to those previously listed by others.

16-Oct-12
Back in action. New box, dried out log and couple of starter toys and a trackable..... get hunting! Very Happy

11-Oct-12
Since this one has required maintenance for a while and not been dealt with, we've taken it away to dry out and sort out a new box and log. Seems the least we could do for a local cache. Will be back within the week. Might even stick a trackable in for added entertainment!

09-Oct-12
Contents wet through, needs new container and possibly new logbook.

09-Oct-12
Alternative co-ords still work. The cache is completely waterlogged now. The lid closure has disintegrated. As this is our closest cache to home, we will re-house it in the near future. Stunning views from the top! Well worth a visit.

05-Sep-12
Been looking at this one for a while after doing Spit Hill ages ago. Not been in this reserve before and pleased to see it was full of birds, we even disturbed an owl on the way out. It took us a while but we eventually found the cache. Like TGR said, needs some urgent maintenance. TFTC

05-Sep-12
Cache was pretty old, the lid crumbled as I opened it. Unfortunately the contents was water logged and ruined, some maintenance is urgently required. TFTC

30-Apr-11
This cache hadn't been found for a while so wasn't sure if we would succeed. Found easily at the alternative gz. Although the fella in the picture had been looking for a few months with no luck !

09-Sep-10
Enjoyed a great 5 km ramble around the Tamala Reserve, picking up this Cache as I went. Good views over the coastline from GZ a bonus.
Many Thanks

15-Aug-10
Grrr...just read some of the over logs. If I had just a little more time...

27-May-10
I deserved to find this one as I searched dilegently for it last September without success. I needed the new co-ordinates posted in the previous log. I took a finger puppet and left a valuable diamond ring - the diamond measures about a centimetre across!! Thanks nissan.

14-May-10
(Chwiliwr team catch up log)Followed the GPS's to the listed coordinates but we couldn't find the cache. Read some of the previous logs and found it at the same coordinates as Liz and Bruce did so have added them. Listing should really be updated as not everyone will have access to the logs to see the difference. The bag the log was in was a bit ratty so Chwiliwr put it in a new glad bag to better preserve it as it is still damp even though we found no water in the cache itself. Thanks for the cache.

5th for the afternoon after walking up from Spit Hill.

Followed the GPS's to the listed coordinates but couldn't find the cache. Read some of the previous logs and found it at the same coordinates as Liz and Bruce did so have added them. Listing should really be updated as not everyone will have access to the logs to see the difference.

We parked on Marmion Ave, almost directly east of the cache, then walked along the 4wd track which is blocked off at Marmion. Then followed a foot-track from the T junction -- straight up the sandhill... sigh.

Had finally given up searching, turned to leave -- and spotted the cache. Five or ten metres SE(?) of the given location. Took a GPS reading and it's close enough to the one that I have now spotted in Liz & Bruce's earlier post... If only I had taken notes *before* searching! Learn something every day, eh, though I thought I'd learnt that one quite a while ago... Smile

This one hadn't been done for so long we were hoping we would be successful. We followed the major trail from the carpark near the big rocks and then the minor trail up the sanddune. Spent a long time looking under lots of bushes. Widened our search and spotted the blue lid. We will publish some coords that might help future geocachers find the cache .301 and .894. Thanks for showing us this location nissan - nice views. TNLN.

21-Dec-08
The container has been replaced.

29-Nov-08
Found it close to Urch's location details. NOTE: Have moved it back to the original location The container had a hole in it and a layer of water. Log book was damp but Ok to use. Since I live less than 2K away, I will replace the container next weekend if that's OK "Nissan"?

This is now a walk in only cache. Track access has been blocked. There are two tracks that lead to the cache. One, which needs some rock climbing intially, is at S 31Deg 42.206Min E115Deg 43.210Min , the other is a little further north. To save too much bush bashing I suggest you leave the main track at S31Deg 42.312Min E115Deg 42.933Min.

A wild and woolly day today. This one has been on my list for a very long time, and today was the chosen day, after church nearby.
Parked on the main road at the obvious parking area, and was pleasantly surprised at the short walk in, I was expecting a much longer one. Followed the vehicle track all the way to the base of the hill, then up, up and away.
Searched for a while at GZ, then checked out urch's log, and her coordinates helped me. Spotted it straight away after that.
Great views from the top of the hill, and I also scared a blue-tongue lizard who was way too cold to move anywhere.
Took nothing, left nothing, thanks for the walk and the cache!

05-Jun-08
A nice walk in from the main road along 4WD tracks (again, parking next to the "Vehicles prohibited in this reserve" sign), and then the hill loomed up ... Surprised Made it to the top, gasp, and then the search started. Was thrown somewhat by the size description - it is a Large container - and also found it to be about 7m from GZ and fairly exposed. Have attached my reading for the cache as it would be a shame to come all this way and only get a bluey instead of a smiley.
Took TB, otherwise TNLN. Thanks for the hunt, nissan.
PS Plastic bag over hole in cache lid is also deteriorating rapidly.

14-Jan-08
Could not find it

14-Jan-08
could not find , may be missing .

02-Dec-07
There is a hole in the lid of the cache, OK for summer but will need attention before the winter rains.

02-Dec-07
Parked on the main road and walked in. Bit of a trudge through the sand but the view at the end was certainly worth it. Found the cache after a brief search, about 6 metres off GZ. Took some photos of the view with my new phone but I'm yet to work out how to download them. TNLN. Dropped off 'H.M.S. Speedy' GC which wanted to go to a harbour, which we couldn't do this weekend, so we thought we'd give him a nice view of the sea. The lid of the cache is perishing and has a small hole in it, so put it in a plastic bag to protect until fixed. Thanks for the cache.

We walked in the long way, loved the walk and the views. Thank you Nissan

A bit of an adventure today! Decided on the easy option - drove in and gave The Hallows Jnr a chance to have a bit of a drive too!! Parked up and walked up and over the dunes for about 200m - with a bit of grumbling from Jnr and Hallows Dog!! Stumbled upon Teem Trout and between us all discovered the well hidden cache! Thankful of photos for added help! TNLNSL Thanks for the opportunity to get offroad, Team Nissan!

We parked on the main road and walked in. Some of us took the short route, others took the VERY long route (Louise) to ground zero whilst the others waited patiently for them (her) to climb up the hill. We searched high and low for about 15 minutes and didn't find it and decided to take a break and enjoy the sun on the warm sand. Enter Team Hallow with a printed photograph of where to look. Bingo, we found it. A great hunt. TNLN

Our first DNF, searched for ages. Looking at photo's we were off by about ten meters also.

Will try again at later date.

Walked over from Spit Hill. I hate it when people log "easy finds" and I can't get close! I looked long and hard for about 30mins. (after walking that far I wasn't prepared to leave in a hurry) but on checking the photos on my return it looks as though I was about 10+ metres away.

Wow what a walk. Great walk but Barry the Wonderdog didn't think much of it. Found the cache partly in the open.

Thanks Nissan. SL
