It looks like the final cache may have been muggled - I will disable this for now until I can get out there to replace it - may be a few weeks

Wow, so long in completing this one. Was out last November, but unable to crack the combination. Plan was to come back to the previous waypoint to gain the new combination. Fortunately the CO must have taken pity on me and after confirming my numbers were wrong sent me the new set.Back today in a better parking spot to last time and set off to GZ. Still took us some time to zero in but finally had a familiar container in hand.Right, here we go. Access made; log signed.Scores a FP for me. Thanks for a fantastic adventure.

I have had my eye on this cache for a long time, so when I saw the CO had recently been through and done a maintenance run, Peppa and I picked and date and here we are. Despite the heat we had a great time going through the waypoints and working well together to solve the puzzles. A really great cache and Im so glad we have finally completed it.Thank you so much for keeping this one going Rogainer an easy favourite.Find #5087

Insert long & complicated happy dance with intricate hand gestures here I visited the starting point for this epic cache over a year ago and have waited for a chance to give it the attention it needed that and to have Davinells with me to do the heavy liftingSummer may not have been our smartest decision, but here we are Without both of us, and Cachlys ability to drop pins on the map, Im fairly confident wed still be trying to work out which way was North we both remarked on how difficult this must have been almost 20 years ago when it was first createdAs requested we brought along a new log book and left it with the final locationThanks Rogainer were both very happy to have finally completed this oldie and at the same time been able to show it some well deserved loveFind #10582

Forgot to mention that while cache is back up and running, the logbook is completely saturated - I didn't think to bring a spare one with me. I will endeavour to get back out there soon - or if a kind sole happens to have one with them when they head out to solve this cache, that would be wonderful

27-Nov-23
Finally found my round tuit and headed out for some maintenance on this cache- Replaced a waypoint which had been stolen- Made some temporary repairs on another waypoint which had been damaged by somebody who cant solve puzzles - sigh - NO FORCE REQUIRED PEOPLE

03-Nov-23
Went out to try and complete this one, as Barb had photos of all the WP's saved from when she visited. Got to the end and found the cache. Unfortunately, unable to open the final with the combination we have. Reading previous logs, doesn't indicate that the lock has been changed. Will have to watch and wait.

It appears that a waypoint has been muggled again - sigh
You are welcome to make a start on this cache and finish it when I fix this up

I was on the Southside to grab a old wherigo and couple other caches. I got a 8 finds today, the breakdown is two mystery, wherigo and adventure lab with 5 waypoints.
I was back to finish the mystery after issues with one waypoint. Paf another cacher to get me to the final. It still was lots of fun doing it.
Thank you for this old puzzle.

Today, I needed to run an errand to Annerley, and so after a pleasant morning tea with friends, I made a few stops, which included Weller Road Park, and Toohey Forest Park. My plan was to target [Iniduoh](https://coord.info/GCH4DC) and [Get Rekt 3: Toohkeyo Drift](https://labs.geocaching.com/goto/5f8af3eb-d28e-41a4-a5fe-af03bda75f02) Adventure Lab. I decided to pack quite light so I could jog/run different sections, but without packing much water or food, I was quite tired by the end of my visit given the large expanse of Toohey Forest that I covered.

I will make a full comment/log upon completion of this geocache, but unfortunately, I have to comment that I got as far as Waypoint 4 when the trail went Iniduoh and disappeared on me! I was quite disappointed as this had been my ambition for today given the geocache's age! There was a bit of a SPOR in an area as described in the previous waypoint's clue page, and after searching around for 5-10 minutes, I suspect this may have been muggled. Will watch and see if anyone else has any luck, otherwise I was quite enjoying this cache. Thanks anyway Rogainer for the cache placement.

I started working on this earlier this year bit ran out of daylight. Finally made it back today to finish off the job. Absolutely love this cache a FP from me.
Thanks Rogainer for keeping this going. It's a rare experience.

I had four puzzle caches on my list to find today and thought early morning on Father's Day would be a good time to find these as it would be fairly quiet. I had started this one a couple of weeks ago after dropping off my daughter at the nearby uni, so I had a little bit of time then. But not knowing how long this would take, I only got as far as the second waypoint and without the information to open the container.

So today I was determined to complete this one and headed back there. As I enjoy map reading because of my many years of bushwalking, I found all the waypoints easily though it took a bit of thinking on how to get the information on one of them. I PAF but managed to work it out before needing her help. Found GZ easily and log signed. Enjoyed my walk in Toohey Forest and love that this one has been kept alive for all of these years. What an adventure! I won't give anything away for future adventurers, but as I have been scared off previously, I wanted to share this: this adventure requires only commitment and basic, general problem-solving skills (no superpowers needed) and if you get interrupted by a thunderstorm (as I did) you will be able to pick up where you left off (as I did). And also, it's well worth the effort, especially if you're a local! TFTC Rogainer!

Out today to continue my challenges of a trad a day and a cache a day, with a day off from work I had planned to walk toohey forest to find this one. My plans did work out to well as I had two little annoyances to deal with on my trek. However we all made it around the forest and found the final cache. At GZ I was lost for the final and with 3 of us looking we couldn’t find it. I sent my finals to fellow cacher to see if my additions were correct, with the reply we were good we widened our search, turns out it was very well hidden.

So happy to have found this one, an old cache and when that was an awesome experience, thank you.

With our name in the log and the cache replaced as found we all did a happy dance and then started our journey back to the car. Along the way back we came across an Owl, a small tree snake and a small goanna which had the girls amazed and a little scared.
Thank you for maintaining this one and keeping it going, an awesome cache and one that needs to stay alive. A favourite point from me for this cache, again thank you.

Well...this cache has been a little over 3 years in the finding for the Domsky Duo. Our photos and recordings of notes taken showed that we came to Toohey Forest in search of this prized treasure on September 10th, 2017.
Fast forward to today, and with no excuses to have not visited earlier, we are back. I'm sure, noticing that it had been offline and disabled for some months, we had a hope that it would be re-enabled, so seeing it was good to go, today was the day, and in good spirits, and fine weather back we came..
Fortunately we had kept notes (well...most notes)....our lack of one small point was almost our undoing towards the end, but we got there.
We started our adventure today where, some 3 years earlier, we could just not "fire" up what was needed. Today, we sat and took our time, and soon had ourselves sorted and on the way to the next adventure.
Suffice to say, with out giving anything away, adventures and some beautiful trails abound in this quest for a smiley on your geocaching map. A wonderful journey!
Aside from anything, it is pretty cool to find a geocache that was hidden 17 years ago here in Queensland.
Rogainer...I know you were thinking of archiving this in July 2020, but whomever gave you the kick to keep it going...(and I think there are many who had your back on this one)...we are grateful that you found the time and energy to maintain and update.
Awesome day out. Your efforts have given us fun and a great day out in the forest,
Domsky

10-Oct-20
This was a great day, perfect weather - blue skies, not too hot, not too humid, almost the last of the hiking weather before the heat of summer takes away my joy. After climbing Mt Blaire and a few nearby caches, we decided to run around the Toohey forest, doing some "magic tricks" associated with this fantastic old Q100 cache.

It turned out to be somewhat of a milestone cache for me - I am chasing 50 of the 100 oldest active caches in Queensland for a challenge, and this became the 50th. Couldn't have picked a better cache!

Spoilers alert - this cache is well worthy of a favourite point. If there was a way to give two, I'd give it! Get out there and enjoy this experience, and thank you so much to the CO for reviving it and maintaining it over the years.

I won't provide any spoilers, because that would ruin the fun for the next person. But we laughed and scratched our heads and problem solved and in general did "magic". We definitely didn't use all of the information available to pick our way from one of the WPs to GZ, and that resulted in some unnecessary cross country adventuring - a fun memory.

All clues are in great condition.

Well this cache is not too far from me and over the last few years I've collected bits and pieces and about 6 months ago I was heading off to the final and didn't get that far so put it back on the "to do later list", then a few of the old ones were on the disappearing list. Panic hit as my list of old cache finds would be slowly getting less and this was on the list to go. I thought if I went back to get it I probably see it archived soon after, then I see it was back in play so off I went once, twice three times and as my knees are deteriorating fast I couldn't get it. Called on ChasingAdventure to join me in my final venture as I was more confident with as support person with me. At last the cache was disclosed and a few unloved days gained in the venture. Log signed and cache replaced as found. TFTC

I had a call from Imbunda asking if I wanted to join in the fun here. didn’t take a second to see me waving a cheerio to Hubby and out the door . I could see why Imbunda wanted a buddy as we retraced her steps from before. What a beautiful area here! Soon enough we found the cache and working together it was quickly opened to reveal the log and many swaps . I swapped a worry doll for three dinosaurs . Thank you for keeping this one alive. A lovely afternoon spent here . Tftc

Roll up, Roll up - after some replacements and repairs, Iniduoh is good to go.
Come one and all to enjoy all that Toohey forest has to offer.

Finally a got a round tuit and dedicated today to cache maintenance.
This cache is now technically good to go, but I need to return for one more visit before I am comfortable enabling it.

30-Aug-20
I’m going to add another kick to the list here - Rogainer you could end up with quite a sore backside as there are a number of us wanting to send kicks your way for this one (after all it has given so many of us kicks of the good kind), and having grown up with two brothers (I’m looking at you for starters EngPhil), I’m sure I can hold my own in the kicking dept.

Please allow this one to stay active - if you don’t want to deal with the maintenance of it any longer as we all know it can be time consuming, please allow us as the community to help out. I can vouch for a couple of rascals who wrote notes ahead of me for this duty.

This one can’t pull a disappearing act on us!

Please don’t kill this cache, I would love the opportunity to do it!

26-Jul-20
10km from home. My 500th find. And a favourite from 12 years in the game.

Likewise, I'd hate to see this go, and would happily adopt it/help out to keep it alive and well.

13-Jul-20
It would be a sad day indeed if this cache were to fall into the archives.

I understand it is a difficult beast to maintain. While it is a little outside my usual haunts, I would be only to happy to lend a hand with maintenance if needed. I can pretty confidently state that I will not be alone in making that offer.

This cache holds some very special memories for me. It is a one-of-a-kind gem, and the experience I had finding it is a highlight of my 10-and-counting years in the game.

If you need a kick, please consider this to be one. If you need assistance in keeping it alive, this is also that. But please, don’t let this one die.

12-Jul-20
I am thinking it might be time to archive this old classic.
It has given many cachers a challenge over the years, but it might be time to put it to pasture.
I don't think I will put this one up for adoption, so Either:-
a) give me a kick up the backside to get out there and fix it
b) let me archive it so it will disappear into caching history

Smile

12-Jul-20
Please don't kill it. This wonderful oldie is a brilliant little walk with twists and turns and a particular favourite memory for so many of us. I (and I know many others too) would only be too happy to help out fixing and maintaining it with you. If it is a kick you want, please read this as a solid one.

On return from attending an early morning event on the Northside, patrol14 and myself planned to finish off this multi puzzle which we had started last week. Surprisingly there were no muggles around today and we had the whole forest to ourselves. As it turned out we were on the downhill run and it didn't take us long to get our hands on the beaut hide but much longer to 'escape'. Love the concept of this puzzle and a favorite point from me.

After attending an event on the Northside early this morning, we had time to find a few targeted caches before heading home.
An earlier reconnaissance mission gave us information to be able to find this cache.
With this in the GPS, we headed off into the bush and with a bit of a search, finally located the cache. All was not yet revealed as we still had one more step to take before we could put our names in the log.
Once that was done, it was a high five!! SL then returned cache back to its hide.
Thanks for a most interesting puzzle and adventure.

A fav point from me..

Well nikid1 & I started this fantastic adventure quite a few months ago now. We managed to make our way through all the waypoints that day & end up with some final co-ords but unfortunately had to leave to pick kids up from school before we managed to find it. Think we must have worn our brains out on the earlier waypoints but we had a great day finding them & working out the required information - thank goodness for smartphones, this would have required a few trips back & forth without one. We were pretty pleased with ourselves at the last waypoint working out the final co-ords & were very disappointed not to make the find.
Fast forward to today & Nic made the find after a short search (admittedly it was nowhere near where I was searching last time - funny how the gps can send you to 2 different places using the same co-ords!) Our excitement was short-lived when there was a final obstacle to overcome before final success. Luckily we'd taken photos of the information found previously & after a bit of to-ing & fro-ing & head scratching we were in - woo hoo!!
Thanks for a wonderful cache & all the effort that's gone into it Rogainer, we had a heap of fun & it's definitely worthy of a favourite point.

Headed to this side of town with KerriMG to collect this cache. We started this journey in September. Then we wondered around with all our geocaching tools collecting information and solving puzzles. We were having a great time. We arrived at the final location with school pick up time looming and we failed to find it. Fast forward 8 months and we returned. Today we made a fairly quick find but realised our note taking was a little lacking. Luckily scrolling back through months of photos we located the information required to finally crack this cache. (It did take us a while for the final penny to drop). Thanks for a fun cache.

I have been working on this cache in spurts as I would pick my daughter up from university. I just needed to have some time for a walk and search to complete it. Normally through the week, the car park is full with students drinking coffee or hanging out at the pub (at least that’s how I remember uni).

I found myself in the car park on the weekend because my daughter had an exam. WTF? What kind of respectable educational institution thinks it has the right to break the important dichotomy of student and sleep. Don’t they know I will have to live with a cranky teen for the rest of the day. It will be a long day too, because she is out of bed while the sun is still up.

I followed a little trail to GZ and felt better when I got to an area that felt “cachey”, or otherwise it was the set of the Flintstones movie. With so many spots to check I wondered whether I was going to have enough time but thankfully my uncoordinatedness ensured I fell over the right rock. tftc

06-Apr-19
This took a lot longer than I thought it would! And there were lots of mosquitos today. When I finally made it to the GZ, I realised that I had recorded something wrong. But employing a particular skillset, I managed to sign the log. TFTC!

I had the most brilliant time doing this cache today along with karicka, E:) and Wayn0. It was an unexpected jaunt, with the idea having been floated while we were climbing trees a few suburbs away. This is one of those caches that I'd never quite got around to, but today was the day!

We had, as the CO suggested, plenty of time, map reading skills and we enjoy a challenge. Whether or not we carried plenty of water, a compass, pen or pencil and spare batteries, however, is more debatable. How about a gardening glove, a roll of peppermints, an antenna and some pocket lint? The carapace of a desert beetle, a melted chocolate bar and a crystal radio set? Only time would tell whether we came prepared...

Into the forest we went, finding each stage to be beautifully maintained and exactly challenging enough to make it thoroughly enjoyable without becoming overly frustrating. We relied on each other's talents to achieve a smooth find, with each of us contributing in different ways along the hunt.

The walk itself was great, too, though I failed to notice any of the advertised koalas.

If I could say more without revealing too much, I would: suffice it to say, this cache is well worth doing. Take the time, take your friends, take some water and take some photos, but most of all, take pleasure in the experience. An enthusiastic favourite point from me.

TFTC, Rogainer! =^.^=

24-Feb-19
This is a superb cache! Best done in a group as the challenges are quite varied. Today a small group of geocachers decided to visit Toohey Forest Park to tackle this oldie. It took a few hours to complete but that gave karicka, E, La Kedi and myself lots of time to swap caching stories.

Each stage is in good condition and working well except for one container at waypoint 4 which is cracked.

For me, this cache gave a good balance of difficulty and fun. The challenges weren’t too difficult to be annoying and the walk was pleasant. An impressive amount of effort has gone into creating and maintaining this cache. Fav point coming soon. Thanks for the experience and a well maintained cache.
Cheers

While climbing a tree a few km to the south the idea to make a group effort on this cache was floated.
Having had a brief look at the description as is it quite close to home I was not sure what I signed up to.
Our group of four set off into the woods, soon we where at WP1, great condition of everything here. La Kedi had the tool needed and we got on our way.
Next stage took us some time, this would have been a lot harder back at the time this was hidden.
Some more stages, each one worthy of a FP had us at the final.
E read out the magic words and sesame did open.

Dropped two TBs that were picked up straight away

Thank you for a cache with Quality!

We had just had a couple of steaks and a wine at some pub, where Mrs 4ando just knew she had married the right man 19 years ago when he came back from the bar with the upsize glass of red, now with a glass of wine in us we had the courage to try this cache again. We are currently getting our oldest and finest list a bit longer as this is now a challenge that we are after. This is not our first time at attempting this oldie but sometimes these things keep drilling you in the backside and you just won’t leave well enough alone. Seeing as there has been recent maintenance we were trying again.

Revisiting some and scrutinising some waypoints we had been previous the magical mystery fell into our hands. Arriving at GZ we were hopping around like a couple of mad bunnies with GPS bounce, surely it has to be here somewhere! This cache has become a thorn in our side and we aren’t leaving until we have this thing done and dusted so we continued bouncing all over the place and swearing like a couple of truckies until finally Mr 4ando turned at the right angle…and oh dear lord, how on earth did we miss that? Performing the final magic touches we were happy to have this one complete.

Wow is all I have to say! What a fabulous puzzling adventure! And GZ super spot for bush walking! Loved it! Tftc

04-Nov-18
I'm slowly counting down the oldest Qld caches for a challenge. This is not the first time I've specifically been to this spot to look for the way points, the last being only a few weeks back. Knowing the final is back in play and it's been found, retraced a few way points and come up with the magical sequence to make this cache appear. All I can say is its well worth the time to get everything locked away and gotta be worth a FP.

Managed to spot a few goanna on the trip to GZ. Any crunch of leaves not caused by me gets my interest. Glad most of these were caused by the goannas. Thanks for maintaining this 'oldie' Rogainer.

This is a caching adventure that started in August last year, when my eldest child, Omen Innuendo, was studying at Griffith Uni.
Then, I decided that any time I could sneak a visit out here, under the guise of dropping him off or picking him up if I got a reprieve from work, I would work on getting this cache done.
So the first day I did the first WP. The next visit was September, and I did some more, bringing along 1GiantPanda for the fun. But then we had to leave before I could work on the required info at the WP I got to.
And then Omen Innuendo was no longer at Griffith, opting to change his course. This was followed by the cache being down for maintenance and my fingers - and toes - were crossed as tightly as possible that it would all be resurrected and I'd be able to continue what I had started. Placing the cache on watch, I waited, and was overjoyed when I saw that it was once more up and running!
And ever since that day a year after I started this cache, it has played on my mind that I needed to get back here and finish it.
Finally, today came. I needed a cache for the day and it was school holidays, which meant I could go wherever I wanted. So, dragging 1GiantPanda with me yet again, we headed out.
It wasn't long before we came to the spot we were at on the previous visit, and with worked out info at hand, soon had the WP sorted and were on our way again.
I won't say how many or give anything away about waypoints, but soon I was a little excited to see that we were to be on our way to the final, after all this time.
Rounding this way, then that way, then we had to go over there! And it was time for the search. It actually took us a while looking here, but we weren't going to give up. I haven't waited this long to not get that final!!
Eventually I mentioned something I recalled about another WP to 1GiantPanda and as he searched some more, he all of a sudden said he'd found something.
Have you really?? Yes!
Woohoo!! He was such a clever little critter with working out info today it was only right that I let him do the honours, and soon he had opened the cache. I extracted and signed the logbook, while his eyes grew big at the swag. He found something he was super interested in so we fiddled around in the caching bag to find some things to pop in in exchange. Then we replaced the cache, sans spider which was happy in there before we came along (he has left a casting behind, so I guess he's been there for a while), and we were off on our journey back to the car, and to deal with rush hour traffic back to the Northside, elated that I was finally able to complete this one after all this time.
We had a great time, and it seems I am able to navigate the requirements of this cache to boot. Good to know my girl guide days did come in handy a little after all.
Thanks for the cache Rogainer. Without doubt, a favourite point from me.

After more visits and repairs than I had anticipated, this cache has finally been refurbished.

Sorry about the delay on this cache people.
It has taken more work than I anticipated to repair.
My weekends have been quite full lately (as in out of town full), but rest assured I have a replacement cache ready to deploy - stay tuned Smile

I revisited this morning to finish what I needed to do last time - done.
However - I went and checked on the cache itself only to discover it is missing - sigh
And on top of that, another puzzle needs attention - I cant win with this one Sad

I finally got my ducks all lined up to perform the required maintenance on this cache.
All went to plan - except one minor issue...

It is an easy 5 second fix, but sorry folks you will have to wait another week.

Just to let people know that I haven't forgotten about this cache.
I have started procuring the items I need to resurrect it.
I have been busy with a fund raising event I am involved with next month, so time has been scarce.

A quick check on a couple of things this morning revealed one puzzle with bits missing rendering it unsolvable and another left in a state such that it doesnt require solving. Who does that?
Convince me not to archive this...

Found today with Goldielover and TrickyT along for some moral support. I had managed to get to GZ almost two years ago with them but the final had been muggled. Goldie and TrickyT had already been back to finish but I was busy elsewhere. Today we arrived at GZ and quickly set about the business of opening the cache. Did not put up much resistance and soon had the very damp log book out. Even too wet to sign but took a photo instead. Dried cache out best we could and placed the log book in outside its bag. Hope it will be able to breath a bit and dry out a little. Hope it is waterproof this time.
Enjoyed this fantastic cache. An easy favourite point your way.

Out with the geoteen and RhoBoCacher today making the most of the Ekka holiday to collect an oldest and finest. Lots of fun here with twists and turns (some of them wrong turns [:O)] which ultimately led us to gz and the final challenge before signing the log. We had some help from a PAF along the way (thankyou) when we were a bit turned around, but happy to finish this one in a day and mark another oldie off the list. Tftc Rogainer Big Grin

Out with Stortigirls today and this was the cache we were after with lots of interesting things seen along the way and while we were out here we managed to pick up a few other caches nearby. This was a great lil puzzle and we were so proud of the fact that we got this one done in one day. TFTC Smile

A trip South of the river to visit the Darkside has been on the cards for a while. Along with a target cache with a particular DT we're after, there were also plenty of solved puzzles, older caches and Earthcaches to find. At the 11th hour Slow Puncture agreed to join me for some good company and laughs aplenty.

This one has long been on my to-do list, so when the opportunity came up to grab it, I seized it with both hands. The morning was quite brisk but it wasn't long before we warmed up the legs on a nice bushwalk.

The cache was found after a short search, the log book is quite soggy despite the inside of the cache being dry.

Thanks **Rogainer** for bringing us here, this find makes Smile #3712. Discover our trackable TGQNRV.

Tuesday. Was out on the dark side with Orange Crew in search of solved puzzles and other caches that took our interest.

As SP had been here before, we just visited with trackables.

Saturday. Slow Puncture were on a mission on the dark side today - to find the remaining 6 caches required to fulfill Fangsoki's "Queensland's 'Oldest and Finest' Challenge".

And so we came to this one. With a bit of a push and a shove from a couple of previous finders, we made our way to the hide - from the wrong direction, as is usual with us - which meant that we of course increased our distance and terrain components. Oh well, it was good exercise!

We got to GZ and looked around - hmmm, the last hiders did a good job, given the container size! Eventually, Luke spotted the hide by forgetting the compass and using geosense, something we both need to learn to do earlier when we get to GZs. It's not like we haven't been doing this long enough Sad

Then - then! We couldn't do the last bit either. A check with one of the previous finders we mentioned confirmed we had the right info, must be a technique issue. Amazing how it worked as soon as we had them on the blower! Arrgghh, regrettably, as per Raynersinoz's log, water is the enemy of a cache's insides. And so it has been here. Had we read the previous logs before setting out, we could have brought a replacement, our apologies. As it turned out, our pen would not leave much ink on the page, so we have also attached a picture where you can see our scratchings on the left hand side.

This was the 2nd of 6 caches found on today's trip.

Thanks ***Rogainer***, for showing us this place. Smile

Oh dear second time we've tried to find first clue - no luck! Have dug in hollow logs, risks snakes and spiders by poking in trees, no luck finding this medium cache.

wow ... what an adventure day
we saw a monk walking along the street, a echidna in the wild, crazy caterpillars, found a cache we have both wanted to do for a long time

the waypoints were so much fun
we feel we are clever now Razz

thank u so much rogainer for an awesome birthday adventure

Today is barbbowman' birthday and amazingly she didn't have this date filled in on her caching calendar. Well we need to fix that! We had both wanted to find the much-loved Iniduoh cache, so today was the day. We sometimes have days when we 'cache by accident', where we'll see something interesting in the bush or a good looking hiding spot and bingo there is a cache or an unexpected cache waypoint. Or we'll need to do something to liberate a cache and we just happen to have a handy tool that makes the job one hundred times easier than it should be. Well today the caching gods were smiling on us because it was turning out to be one of those days Big Grin.

Having reached the first waypoint I was feeling a little bit nervous about making it to the next one, but I must have known more about what was required than I thought I did. Plus 14 more years of technology development since the cache was released made it easier to obtain information while out in the field. I would love to share details about all of our adventures and what we had to do to get to the final, but this caching experience is just too good to give away. bb and I had an awesome time in a beautiful place, Toohey Forest has such a great feel and we even spotted an echidna - the first one that bb has seen in the wild, it must have known it was Barb's birthday Smile

The walk to GZ looked a little daunting, OMG we could be looking for awhile, but the final coords were spot on. Not too bad for a cache that is 14 years old. We opened the container with much relief (there were some doubts as to whether this was going to happen, Red Face) and pulled out the log book. This was the only disappointing part - everything was soaking wet courtesy of ex tropical cyclone Debbie, I always feel sad for the CO when the history of their cache visitors is ruined by the weather. Everything was so well-protected, it just goes to show how much rain we had. The cache will need a new log book - sorry Rogainer Sad This didn't dampen our spirits too much (pun totally intended) and we had an amazing few hours of fun, TFTC Rogainer and for making Barb's birthday that little more special. An extremely well-earned fave point for you Big Grin

Wow! I finally got this one finished! Surprised
This one has been a case of on again and off again, as I started it early on in my caching and found it easier to head back home and work out coordinates for the next stage after taking pics of instructions Big Grin So I kept doing it in stages like that Smile
Anyhow, I eventually got to one waypoint that stumped me. I didn't have a number to use for a PAF, so unable to open the lock at that waypoint, I had to go home and message the cache owner. The CO gave me the information I needed to work out the numbers, but I then didn't return for several months. My excuse was at the time we were having extremely warm weather, and I prefer caching when it's cooler Razz
Another reason for waiting until now though, was that I can now use this cache as a qualifier in the April challenge [^] and this one completes all the letters in April for me Big Grin
What a fantastic geocache this has been. I'd love to give a blow by blow description of the trials and tribulations at each waypoint, but I can understand the CO's request not to give the game away!
Suffice to say, this one is a real test of a persons geocaching ability. I think if anyone is able to do this cache on their own in one day without a PAF for assistance? Then I'd have to say what are you doing playing this game? Geocaching is obviously way too tame for you! Wink
So I got to the final. I was starting to freak out, as the first couple of tries the padlock didn't open for me! Surprised But on the third try it did thank goodness [^] The contents including the logbook was quite damp. Not completely soaking wet, but obviously a problem with condensation here! I was able to sign the log ok (pic included) as my pen can just about write under water Smile
Everything replaced back as I had found it, and all in readiness for the next gung-ho geocacher to come and battle through all the waypoints to find this one for themselves [8d]
Thanks for this marvelous mystery geocache Rogainer, and of course it's getting a favourite point from me, as I thoroughly enjoyed it, even though it took me ages to finally finish it Smile

I came to the area for another cache I needed for a challenge. I have known about this oldie for a while so thought I would give it a go. I was going well and enjoying myself lots until my engine stopped. I PAF but the response came after I had left the area. I still don't know how that information was gleamed.
So today (two days later) I revisited and used the information which worked a treat. On wards I went. I looked in the wrong place for a while instead of using my geosense which later worked well. Lots of fun up here and off I went to the final. I went the Loooong way around but still found a good track in. I then used more geosense and soon had the final in hand and opened. Yay. I have already told lots of my family about each step of this cache and of all the great exercise I got. I saw a lovely goanna on the way to the final. TFTC a fav point for sure.

This one has been on the "to do" list for ages and today was the day to finally tackle it. An early morning trip down from Toowoomba and FB03 to an area I have not visited before. Revisited a spot the others had been to for my benefit and had an amusing run in with a spider innocently tucked away in its hidey hole - Kestal does NOT "do" spiders...encounters result in the emission of high-pitched noises and contortions. For the most part we moved along steadily but at one point we overthunk everything and got ourselves off on a tangent that was nearly our undoing for the day. We even used a PAF to no avail. Thankfully we got a bit lucky when Kestal came up with the goods...we're still not sure how?? From there it was simply one foot and step after another until we finally had us a cache. Thanks for the fun Rogainer...a fav point from me.

With an indecision on which cache to go to today, this one made the short list and with a WP possibly missing on another cache we decided to go for this one. I had looked for this one previously but had gotten stuck at just the second WP. I will blame the heavy rain that day.

This morning Eskies5 picked FB03 and I up and we headed to Brisbane and parked nearby. We revisited the starting point and retrieved the needed information again. This came easily as we knew what we were expecting but what I wasn't expecting was the spider that was sharing a hidey space with something. We moved on collecting each WP as needed, needing to back track at one WP and possibly spending far to long else we eventually had what we needed to sign our names. We another close encounter of an 8 legged kind I was more than happy for Eskies5 to take the lead. Eventually she made the find and our names signed in the log. A fantastic hide and favourite from me TFTC Rogainer

3/09/2016, 10:19 AM Find #1101

I arrived to start this a couple of weeks ago completely unprepared and short on time and battery life. After cruising along, letting the blood rush to my head, thinking I wood solve this easily, I crashed in a creek bed and had to abandon.

Today, I went back and marched through like a steam engine before hopping my way to GZ. Here, I almost stumbled at the final hurdle but a call to the geowife saved the day. I suck at those things.

All in all, I had a fun time (or two) and appreciate the time and effort taken to set up and maintain this old cache.

Found with TrickyT. We had attempted this one a while ago but the final went missing. The Co kindly replaced the container so we could finish our adventure. What a great cache. This one deserves a favourite. Thanks for the cache

A very late log on this find but glad to say a successful find.
At a recent catch up a few of us were talking about upcoming plans and ideas and it was mentioned that a attempt at this one was going to be done soon.
At the kind invitation of Goldielover and TrickyT, myself and wonderdog Zac we soon made our way to the start point and began the adventure. My fellow cachers had already done the hard yards and been around all the waypoints but very kindly started from the beginning so I could enjoy the whole experience for myself.
It was a great help having extra eyes and a some prior knowledge as I did struggle at a few waypoints but with a few suggestion we made a steady pace around the area collecting the information required.
A short break for morning tea and a puzzle and we were soon approaching the final area, with three sets of eyes and Zac the wonderdogs nose we located the prize.
The loss of the old original logbook is a shame as that was a real lot of caching history but the new cache itself is great and I wished I had remembered to bring some swaps because there was some fun things to find.
A great fun cache to do either in stages or in a few hours in one go. TFTC

Well, I've finally done it. My third attempt and I actually completed it. To be fair I had reached the final area on my second go with Goldilover and Stairman1 but sadly the cache had been muggled. Since it was replaced I've been itching to get back. At a recent event Goldilover, Bulldozer and myself decided to tackle it today. (Stairman1 was off climbing Mt Everest or something like that.) As Bulldozer hadn't done any of it we decided to start at the beginning and let him enjoy the full challenge. Well, it was a challenge for all of us at one point when it appeared the earth had shifted and a waypoint wasn't where we thought it was. Strange how everything looks different after a while. One waypoint was 'technically' off limits as the path was being upgraded, but being the rebels that we are we crossed into no-mans land and sorted that one, thanks to 'light-fingers Louie' I mean Bulldozer. One by one we worked our way through the W/Ps and reached the final area. First thing we noted was a folded tent and camp fire remains in the gully. It appears someone may be camping here on a regular basis. Something for future hunters to be aware of. Well not sure why but the calculations didn't want us to get it but with a bit of logic we honed in on the area most likely and with great joy a suspicious location was stumbled over. Log signed and all secured again. Unfortunately none of us had thought to bring puzzle swaps as there is some great loot there. Such a shame the first log was lost as so many years of logs would have made interesting reading. Thanks to Goldielover Bulldozer and Zac of course for a must enjoyable day. Many thanks Rogainer, great fun and so pleased to finally finish it off. Another favourite point to add to your collection too.

I'm really gutted to have to abandon this one for now. I came completely unprepared but was flying along until I came to a hurdle that I couldn't surmount. This had nothing to do with preparedness but more to do with lack of knowledge in a particular area of expertise. I'm going to have to do some research and come back.

Nurseyjulie and I did the waypoints for this cache over a number of days spanning a couple of weeks. We completed each field puzzle in the time we had allocated for the day....except for one. We got stuck at that one and were there until well after dark. Today, we headed to the final waypoint. There, we managed to extract the required information quickly. We then decided that we might have enough time to make it to the final. We dashed along the tracks until it was time for a bit of a bush bash. As we searched, the light began t fail. Just as I was beginning to think that we might have to call off our search for today, Nurseyjulie called out "Found it". I read out the instructions as she put them into practice. No luck. Tried again, and this time the cache was opened to reveal a nice new logbook and new swaps. We added our name to the logbook, rehid the cache and then scrambled back to the track before darkness fell. TFTC

Selva Girls and I had been plotting the WP's over a period of a couple of weeks after work and coming back each time to the next WPs. One WP had us stumped and we were at a loss as to how to open the container. It was getting dark then and we really wanted to get into it and retrieve the info for our next visit. We knew we had the right info and even a check with a PAF we were right. It was by fluke that we managed to open it and gain the next WP details. Today, we managed to get to the final WP and worked out where we needed to get to. We had a small window of light to be able to reach the GZ so we made our way as quick as possible. Light fading we were thinking we were going to have to come back, so I flung down my bag and decided to search in earnest amongst all those rocks and I spotted it! Yippee! A nice clean log and lots of swaps. We followed the trail up and managed to reach the main trail before it was dark. Another great journey this cache was! TFTC Rogainer

A sad day today. The cache was indeed gone and along with it, 12 years of historic logs Sad
If you do know where the log book is, please let me know - happy to pick it up no questions asked.
Anyway, new cache deployed and the rest has been checked. All systems go.

After chatting with Stairman on the weekend, it appears that the cache maybe AWOL - which would be a shame as it has 12 years of history in the logbook Sad

I had hoped to check it last weekend, but that didn't happen. I promise to go out this coming weekend - stay tuned.

Out and about with Stairman1 and TrickyT today, I had been wanting to do this one for a long time and today we found time.

09-Jan-16
Second attempt at this one for me, the last time was some time ago and I was muggled out. Got the invite from Goldielover and Stairman1 and jumped at it as I've been a bit slack in geocaching terms lately so with a free weekend I was keen. An early start soon had us wandering the many paths and tracks. At WP1 which I had already done I watched the two amigos sort their way through it and on to WP2 where I was stuck last time. This time it was a bit of cross country to get there and it appears I was a tad out with my calculations last time but Stairman1 had us in the right spot this time. Not only that, he had it open while GL and I searched the net for answers. We stumbled our way to the next WP and when the light bulb came on we had that one sorted as well. Again a couple of false starts till we were in the right spot for WP4 and sorted the necessary. I might add that I had been taking photos of the instructions as we went so we could review what we were doing if we became lost. However we arrived at the next stepping off point and we discovered the photo was an unreadable blur. Bugger, however Stairman1 bit the bullet and retraced the path back and re-photographed the necessary. OK, now the fun really starts. We entered the data and off we went. Searched...no luck. Searched some more....no luck. Checked our workings, rechecked our workings, widened our search, back and forth over some pretty rugged ground I might add. I think we spent over 2 hours here and finally came to the conclusion, we have made a grave mistake or I hate to say it, the cache is gone. I did come across a scattering of what could possibly be swap items (and a dead fox, phew!). So with reluctance we headed home but will definitely be back to finish this one off when we sort out the problem. Thanks Rogainer, despite the ending we really enjoyed the journey and the puzzles and hope to be back soon.

No luck today with Goldielover and TrickyT, although not for the lack of trying. We had an early start organised and TrickyT as usual was dead on time. We picked a suitable parking area and headed in. A nice walk before the day heated up soon had us at a gz. A little look around before we had something pointed out to us. Ok that's good. We made our way steadily along via the different way points, managing a couple of other caches along the way. Loved the way you have made it a challenge at each point, It really had us going at various points.
The day was getting on when we arrived near our GZ when we needed to check something. Ok lets look at the photo and check it out. Maybe we should have checked it could be seen before heading off. Anyway try as we may we could not make out with certainty what was needed. Nothing left but to wander quickly back for another try. Now armed with some extra information We searched and searched, searched and searched even more. I really hate having to leave the area as we were fairly certain we were correct in our calculations. After over an hour and half it was time to PAF. Each call was very unhelpful. Seems some can not even remember a find made over 3 years ago. Any way we had exhausted our supply of pafs and reluctantly had to leave.
Will return once we get some more information.
Thanks Rogainer for the experience. Cant give a fav point yet though.

We were here a couple of weeks ago and got to the final and couldn't Crack it. Coming back today with some help of dome instructions from a different lock we gave it another crack and got it straight away. Great puzzle with many interesting points along the way. Tftc

We completed the waypoints on one day but couldn't open the final. Back today armed with a better idea and remsjw managed to crack it open on his first try!

Out caching with Remsjw, Misssusan, Lisylou and Jemillalucy. We had got to this stage previously but couldn't figure out how to open the cache. We came back today with a bit more instructions. Remsjw was able to do the final solving. I really loved this puzzle, using a bit of navigating and searching for clues. TFTC! Dropped in TB.

This was the target cache for the day - an interesting looking puzzle and an old cache as well. Now, I don't want to give too much away, so the log will be necessarily brief. Suffice to say that this caches reputation is well deserved.

I really enjoyed the task at hand - finding my way around this pleasant forest from waypoint to waypoint. Things have possibly changed slightly since this cache was placed - which in itself makes it ever the more interesting and challenging.

After a good long walk, and a few extra caches thrown in for good measure, I soon found myself at the final location. Soon enough I had my name in the logbook, but not before being scared witless by an owl sitting quietly in the tree not 2 metres away, silently observing my every move. Fantastic! I quietly left things as I found them. A poorly chosen parking spot at the other end of the forest meant a long walk back to the car.

Many thanks, Rogainer. This was an excellent adventure, truly worthy of a crooked favourite point.

Pete

Man oh man! This one was so much fun. Big Grin
Started this 'epic journey' last Monday (public holiday) but only had about 10 minutes searching at final GZ before we were beaten by lack of light.
Today is our first opportunity to come back - couldn't wait to finish it.
Enjoyed each and every one of the WP challenges as well as the pleasant bushwalk. Saw lots of birdlife and not much else - guess they're hibernating. Oh, we did see a few remote control cars zooming along off-road near one of the WPs. Something we weren't expecting in the bush. Of course their muggle drivers weren't far behind them. Smile
The final was the most challenging to find for us. Took us a ridiculous amount of time to locate the cache - GPS wouldn't settle at all so we split up and widened our search zone. When we finally did find it the coords seemed to be pretty spot on after all.
Getting this final cache opened felt as good as eating chocolate. Big Grin
Took lots of photos along the way - a most memorable cache.
Also grabbed the TB to move along.
We are happy to give this cache its 34th FP.
Thanks Rogainer for your amazing effort in setting up and maintaining this cache.

Gaz'n'Kab took me out for a wonderful walk through Toohey Forest. Even though caching was the main incentive, I was thoroughly impressed by the local fauna! In between catching frogs, screaming at snakes, and watching kookaburras, we had great fun finding the caches and the waypoints.
Thank you Rogainer!

We decided to finally tackle this one today, so we grabbed catscatscats22 on the way, and headed off towards WP1. We headed in to the bush, and began the search for the first waypoint, when Gaz soon uncovered the cache, and headed off to do what was needed Wink We were a little thirsty for more, so we headed off along the trails, and had an absolute ball as we made our way around the trails ticking off each of the waypoints Big Grin A lot of effort has gone into the cache, and we were so happy to be able to finally tick it off today!!! A lot of fun indeed, and in great company, we had an awesome afternoon [^]

TFTC Rogainer, a fav point from us!

Started this cache way too late in the day which resulted in us completing the cache in the dark. Early in the adventure the heavens opened up and we got soaked. We remained that way until we had the cache in hand way after dark. We made so many mistakes that it was a miracle that we managed to locate the cache at all. We encountered many ants, spider webs and mozzies along the way. At every turn a smile was bought to our faces. This was an epic adventure and a most enjoyable cache. We are glad that we decided to look for this cache instead of going for multiple others during our afternoon of caching in this area. We are giving a favourite point. Thanks for all the hard work that went into creating this masterpiece.

Made a quick trip to GZ this afternoon to drop off The Key. Well, it was supposed to be a quick trip, but I dropped the (completed) map somewhere near the start of the walk, and we had to approach GZ from memory. Happy hunting!

We worked on this one over many many many months. Not even sure when we found the first waypoint. One heck of a mission - but as we live backing on to Toohey, we did it in parts. With light fading & a biliion mozzies we were questioning our skills today. But then a little further trekking found the hide.
Thanks a million. Great cache!!

This was our first D4 cache, and to my poor aching brain and muscles it sure feels like we earned it! We headed out to WP1 late-ish on Tuesday afternoon, but had to call it a day soon after as the light was fading fast.

Today we picked back up where we had left off. We were quite stumped at one point, but luckily I had read some previous logs and remembered a reference to Captain Terror pointing out something that others had missed. It clicked (and something else clicked) and we were off again! At one point we came across a muggle sitting right on top of where we needed to be, but he took one look at us and headed off in the opposite direction. Lucky us!

The sun was setting on our second attempt but today we decided to push on to the final location, and it was pitch dark by the time we got there. Out came the torches and we scoured GZ but it was becoming quite difficult to navigate. Just as we were about to give up and go home, I spotted the prize. Neither of us had seen a geocoin before, so finding one in the cache just made the experience even more fantastic.

Without doubt, this is my favourite caching experience so far and I can't imagine many that could top it. Thank you, Rogainer, for all of your hard work setting up and maintaining this truly excellent cache. Thanks to you we have had two wonderful afternoons, and a fantastic adventure we will be talking about for ages!

We spent two afternoons finding this one - our attempts to avoid heat and sunburn resulted in us running out of light, both times. We had a fantastic time using our brains, as well as our legs. The final location was quite a challenge in pitch dark, but Montanbanan spotted it in the end - only moments before her torch failed. Well worth the time and energy spent. TFTC!

This legendary cache has been a long time coming. I had thought it might be a good milestone cache but it just didn't pop up as a likely candidate at the right time. So, a few months ago, I set off one afternoon with Tinda14 by my side, to see how far we could get. The answer was: the second WP, as at that point, the rain began pouring down and completely saturated us, and something we were carrying. Luckily I was taking stacks of photos at every stage (little tip for those to follow).
After that, Tinda14 left for a lengthy away from home experience, so I decided to wait for his return. Yesterday he was back and weather looked great. Unfortunately, we still left our run until late in the day, and despite our best efforts, darkness fell just as we were obtaining the coordinates for the final cache. We decided to head home, and I'm pleased we did as finding the cache in darkness would have been very difficult.
We came back today to wrap it up, and all proceeded fairly smoothly, except for meeting a car coming along a track towards us: very unexpectedly! It was a BCC vehicle and the guys told us they were on patrol for arsonists reported to be in the area. Guess we looked innocent.
The final cache took quite a hunt, though my phone was leading us the right way all along i.e. the coords were very accurate. It was a real pleasure to read earlier entries and realise this cache dates from the same month in 2003 that my daughter was born. Really pleased to have found it: it's another of "Qld's 100 oldest and finest caches" and well worth the trip. TFTC Rogainer for your efforts to set it up and keep it so well maintained! Another Fave point for this great, demanding cache. We also dropped a great geocoin for the next visitor.
