Found with Gazania Rigens, as per her log.My unsophisticated camera skills meant I had to choose between a blurred name or a blurred island.Ahh well, the island is blurred but easily discernible, so I trust that is good enough!TFTC

I had a 9 hr layover at Sydney today, so I headed downtown to stroll thru the city. Overall I was able to find 8 caches and several lab caches. An amazing day, I couldnt have spent it better. Every time I wanted to visit the cache, I didnt have enough time. Today I saw that I can fulfill the conditions. Luckily I had a paper with me. It was a little difficult getting all objects focused at the same time. Vielen Dank an Nebola frs Legen und PflegenThanks to Nebola for placing and maintaining this cache. Found on 25. Tftc. Arrived in Australia yesterday and for our first full day here we decided to do a sightseeing walk through Hyde park, Botanical gardens, Mrs Macquaries chair, Opera house and back to the hotel via the shopping district. Along the way, we managed to find and log multiple caches. This was one of 'em.

25-Jun-24
We managed two different photos, one from the opera house and one from the ferry. The view was definitely better from the ferry! As the app only allows me to attach one, I'll choose the better photo. Thanks for the virtual

Fortunately I was able to gain a medium to write on and after several lousy photos was able to get the required selfie. Enjoyed the ride and the views from the ferry. TFTC>

Yesterday Laura and I flew from Melbourne and arrived incredibly smoothly to Sydney, our first time in the big city. We slept well and long, and woke up with a needing desire to explore the city. We had just this one full day to explore the city before we head out tomorrow, so we knew we had to make it count. We couldnt pass up the opportunity to walk to the middle of the beautiful Harbor Bridge, making it halfway across and then turning back south towards the harbor and docks. From here, we took a ferry towards the zoo. While we didnt have any interest in seeing the locked up animals, I did want to visit another county and that gave us an opportunity to see Sydneys downtown from another perspective. After the quick ferry ride we hiked a little bit towards this stash, I managed to hit my head on a low branch, break my glasses. But after a bit of a walk, we visited three caches around, and then got back onto the ferry. As we were headed back to the harbor we came from, while on the ferry I thought it was a shame we couldnt visit this tiny artificial island, but we got as close as we could within possibility. I snapped several photos as we got close, and the closest we got was 370 meters, at which point I snapped the final photo and drafted this log at 4:18 pm, making this our 7126th overall find. Its a shame the island isnt accessible; this would seem like a cool place to venture out to. Thank you Nebola for placing and maintaining your Barney's Rubble stash; we were glad to visit it and spice up our Saturday while down under in ????Australia for our spring break, visiting from slightly-distant ????Myanmar! For my own personal statistics; this is the forty-eighth of 112 geocaches we visited down under while on spring break, excluding the 56 adventure lab caches we visited and 28 Waymarks visited. It was quite a long and exciting day for us, as we walked 21.17km throughout the city while visiting twenty-five stashes just this one day.

Managed to capture the fort in a pic as we passed it on the way to/from Bradley Head today. It looks so tiny above my shoulder but in real life it was much closer. Team name is on my shirt.

Day 20 of our roadtrip in Australia. We're in Sydney now, so no road tripping the next days, instead a lot of walking. There's so much to see here! And what we love so far, a lot of the caches have very precise hints, very tourist friendly. Today's plan is the Opera guided tour and the Botanical Gardens. We hope of course that the rain forecasted will not come. Took two pictures from the Man O Wars Steps, camera either focuses on paper or Island. Would be interesting to visit the island. Thanks and kind regards from Switzerland, Hinni&Simo

As we ferried our way over to Manly Beach, we noticed this cache pop up. We snapped a quick pic and then we realized we had no paper with us to write our caching name.At the beach we wrote our caching name in the sand and Gg took a pic of it. She is holding the phone with pic as J took photo on the way back to circular Quay.TFTC!

SM325 and I are on a bucket list trip to New Zealand and Australia. This is our first time here and we are having a blast. We traveled here from Ohio, USA. The scenery has been magnificent! Pics are terrible for this. We rode the ferry to the Taronga Zoo, and I attempted the pictures. SM325 was downstairs and inside due to being a wheelchair. It was terribly windy as well. TFTF!

Mrs. Amazing and I did a Harbor Cruise to the Tarango Zoo and it took us very close to this virtual. Pretty good to be in a wheelchair and snag a terrain 3.5! Thanks so much for putting this one out as well as feeding my insatiable addiction! This one gets a favorite point from me.

I am visiting Australia from Canada and today I am wandering around Sydney. It is such a lovely city. I am always looking for oldies and some of the other cool caches nearby. The cachers around here sure are super friendly and helpful. The pic was pretty close from the ferry but maybe not very straight as it was hard to balance at that point. Thanks for the smile.

Staying in Sydney for a few days. We set out bright and early once again this morning. Today we primarily focused on the CBD area, the weather held up brilliantly and made the perfect day for caching.Feels like the Fort has been closed forever at this point, have seen the projected opening date go from 2021 to 2023 and now 2024, maybe this year will finally be the one SmileThanks for the cache

I discovered the cache on my way to Manly, but could not fulfill the requirements till the return. Ill have to apologize for the terrible photo. Had to race across the Manly Fast Ferry and jump over some folks to get a photo. The fort and the navy boat behind it are pretty out of focus! The only thing in focus is the username.Im including the photo taken on the way to Manly, and the out of focus shot on the return.TFTC!

# 21395Whau, I am on a three week trip with Cacher-Reisen and a bunch of fellow geocachers to Australia and New Zealand. It is so odd to imagine that I am going to visit a place that is nearly on the opposite of the globe from my usual hangouts. In Denmark it is late winter/early spring, and I am exchanging the winter-part for late summer in Australia and early autumn in New Zealand. This is so exciting. The itinerary is Frankfurt (Germany), Doha (Qatar), Sydney, Melbourne, Cairns (Australia) and Auckland, Rotorua, Wellington, Blenheim, Christchurch, Dunedin, Cromwell, Queenstown (New Zealand) before flying back to Europe. That will be two new continents and three new countries for me - and as far away from home as I have ever been. It is a lot of places and travelling, but we also have a plan to find lots of geocaches and see the sights and beautiful nature. After the mornings event a small group went in search of some old caches. I had three caches that fit well into my Jasmer calendar for the third and fourth loop. We used public transport in the beginning and at the end and Ubers in between the oldies. Nice and comfortable way to get around. We decided to take the ferry back to the city center. Fantastic weather and a great possibility to see some of the fantastic sights that tourists are coming here to see. Okay, perhaps not Fort Denison, but a great view of the Opera House and Sydney Harbour Bridge.Tak for cachen til Nebola.

Arrival day in Australia ??. This is my first visit to this extraordinary continent and the fulfillment of a long-cherished dream. In the past, it always failed due to the lack of a travel companion. Now I had the chance to join a large group of mainly German geocachers and I was delighted to take it. I'm always on the lookout for the old caches, so this ghost ?? caught my eye and ended up on my to-do list for Sydney. I thought about how I could fulfill the log conditions. There were two ways. I wasn't happy with my first attempt from Lady Gowrie Lookout, although I did like the tiny park and it showed me a side of the city that few tourists stray into. But I was able to take better photos from one of the ferries.Thank you for laying & showing Smile.Ankunftstag in Australien ??.

Danke fr diesen Geocache. Danke fr die Ausarbeitung. Danke frs Zeigen.Lieber Gru aus Duisburg / DeutschlandAndyDieser Logeintrag wird mit Hilfe von Google bersetzt.__________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________We set off on a long journey with 37 geocachers from Germany, Denmark, Luxembourg and Switzerland. Three weeks to Australia and New Zealand, starting with a stopover in Doha, Qatar. I have never been so long and so far away from home. An exciting time. When geocaching, the focus was on many different cache types, but also special ratings, challenges and especially a few very old caches from the years 2000 and 2001. But also, of course, especially the geocaches that were easily accessible on foot from the hotel.Of course, the focus wasn't just on geocaching; the sights of the individual stations we visited also deserved attention. We entered our team name Downunder 2024 in the logbooks, saving logbook space and efficiently. It was a very special trip in a large team, which was also a lot of fun. After leaving Doha yesterday, we visited Sydney today.Due to the large number of caches, there is usually only one standard log, for which I would like to apologize to the different owners. Thanks for this geocache. Thanks for the elaboration. Thank you for showing me.Kind regards from Duisburg / GermanyAndyThis log entry is translated with the help of Google.

We have traveled with 36 likeminded geocachers to Australia and New Zealand resulting in lots of opportunities for sightseeing and geocaching. The logbooks were mostly signed under the teamname "Team DownUnder24" and answers were sent to owners for the group, as appropriate. This has been a great trip with a multifold of new impressions and experiences.During our stay in Sydney we had also the opportunity to visit some caches. This cache was also among our finds today. Thanks for leading us here and showing and thanks for the cache.

The second day in Sydney was used for another long walk along the waterfront. There were many beautiful things to see and to observe. A real hotspot for tourists. This virtual "Barney's Rubble" also caught the eye. The task was solved with the name tag as best as possible. Thanks Nebola for adopting from AlternateRoute??

Together with 36 other geocachers, the KiSt team undertook a very long trip to Australia ???? and New Zealand ???? for three weeks. On both the outward and return journeys, there was a stopover in Doha, the capital of Qatar ????.We experienced a great deal on this trip and gained many very different impressions of the two countries, their nature and their culture. Of course, the main focus was on visiting as many caches of as many different types as possible and also all accessible old cans. However, we also made sure to visit many special places of interest and to gain as comprehensive an impression as possible of nature and its flora and fauna. To save the logbooks, we usually signed in with our team name **Downunder24**. For "special" cans, however, we have not missed the opportunity to leave our nickname as well. This beautiful cache is now also one of our finds.Due to the large number of caches visited, it is unfortunately not possible for us to write an individual log for each can, which is why we would like to apologize to the owners for this collective log.We also met other cachers at some of the events and were able to share our experiences. Many thanks to the event owners!Of course we would like to thank all the owners for showing us the great locations, the sometimes tricky puzzles, exciting multis and wherigos, as well as the interesting virtuals and earth caches - TFTC!!!---In der Besetzung KiSt unternahmen wir zusammen mit 36 weiteren Geocachern fr drei Wochen eine sehr weite Reise nach Australien ???? und Neuseeland ????.

A group of 38 geocachers from Germany, Denmark, Luxembourg and Switzerland - Team Downunder24 - are traveling for 22 days from Frankfurt/Main via Doha to Australia and New Zealand. I was able to discover many wonderful things and irretrievable experiences are burned into my memory. I'm finally on Australian soil for the first time and spending 3 days in this exciting and inspiring city. We took a short hike in the rain to two old caches, a harbor tour, went to the open-air cinema in the evening and admired the impressive Bondi Beach. Many different types of caches were discovered - this one was also there! This photo was taken in dry, almost sunny weather on a two-hour harbor tour along the Opera and the Harbor Bridge. TB is welcome to log. Thanks to Nebola (adopted from AlternateRoute) for the cache, luring and caring for it - kind regards from Switzerland ????

6 months ago, during a frenzy, we said to ourselves "why not going to the mega in Adelaide for the leapday". From scratch we moved on to preparing an 18-day project in Australia. Our objectives are simple, visit a small part of this immense continent while validating a few caches. There are so many caches (impossible to do everything) that we will select. Our plan will allow us to visit Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne, Mount Gambier and finish in Adelaide for the famous Mega.During our stay we will log PestiHoot for Pestinette and Blackhoot.Today, after my event in botanic parc, we visit the opera. It is beautifull. We are very enjoy by this visit. We are lucky, we were sheltered in the opera house at the start of the storm. We were well watered in the afternoon for the rest of our visits. Thanks to the caches we visited many sites evoking Australian culture and history. Thanks for the cache and the discovery of beautiful or original spots

Passed by on ferry, took the required pic.An early start of 0600 today and a big 8kms walked before 0745 and breakfast back at the hotel on Kent St. The temperature and lack of muggles are both conducive for a bit of caching and that was appealing.Todays geocaching exploits were once again two-fold. First up was my early morning 4A out and about from 0600 until Ive found a couple and walked 5 or 6 kms. Then after mrs c and I head out for the day we headed a variety of places, including The Rocks, The Harbour Bridge and then later out to Taronga Zoo on the ferry, but solely for caching purposes! Thanks to all COs for their hides to enable my finds.

Hubby and I went to Taronga Zoo today and I told him we had to make sure we got our picture for this virtual. Tftc

Jimmy and Goldy are staying in Sydney for a few days. We are grabbing some caches but mostly just sightseeing. The only one I wasn't leaving without was Lane Cove (GC3E) as it is Australia's oldest cache.I love virtual caches and so my second priority was finding as many virtuals as I can during our stay.Today, we took the ferry across to Taronga Zoo. Followed by a small amount of caching nearby. The Ferry to Taronga Zoo was good for two purposes:1. Taking us there.2. Getting close to the Fort so I can take the photo!Managed to get a few photos in case some didn't come out well.I've uploaded them with the log. Cool virtual idea. Thanks! Thanks AlternateRoute and Nebola for this virtual cache, which brings Goldy's total find count to 3954 on the 3rd of February 2024.

Found earlier today while traveling back from Manley Beach. My lovely muggle wife took a picture of user name, myself and fort in background. Thanks for the virtual. Greetings from the Joplin Missouri, USA area. Right in the heart of America. It was a beautiful day to be out and about. This is our last day down under we met many new people, saw many new things, and had a wonderful time. Cheers! ps We also serendipitously were here during Australia day, adding to the fun.

# Smile #6,909 Smile #----------This one was much easier than I expected at first glance. The hardest part was making sure I had some spare paper on me. Wrote my username and date, all sorted. A great idea for a virtual. TFTC!!! Big Grin----------> All geocaches are signed as mmmPIZZA or mPZ

#6.031While walking around the city in search for the perfect viewing point of the fireworks we also came to this spot. Thanks for bringing us here. The picture itself tried to show more of the fort and therefore has the name in a bit of a blur.TFTC says team mastba from Hamburg/Germany

what an odd duck this virtual cache is.quite often overlooked by the avid tourist cacher in town on a whirlwind, yet emininently doable by anyone with a harbour view. and it's been around for two decades!in fact this is only the third time i've ever come across a cache hidden in November 2003. criminey. and just the fifth time i've ever come across this unique combination. thank you for creating and keeping barney's rubble alive for us to keep selfieing.attached are four photos when my manly ferry came close. one is just the iconic shot sans fingers.Merry Christmas!

First trip Down Under. Here visiting a few days before leaving on an obscenely large cruise ship to New Zealand later today.Had some time before boarding, so we stowed our bags at Bounce and wandered around Circular Quay one last time. Boarding was delayed so we still had time and decided to take a ferry ride out to Manly and back. Beautiful day and a beautiful ride!I had tried taking a photo from the Botanical Gardens, but this one turned out much better.Thank you for the VC and the view!May the Fog Be With You!

This was our first visit to Fort Denison but not our last. We made good use of the ferries during our visit to Sydney. We got much closer during an evening meal cruise around Sydney. Nice to see an old virtual in Sydney. Greetings from England. TFTc

We arrived aboard the Ovation of the Seas this morning and were blessed with warm, sunny weather. Our first picture is RBG on shore with our sign and the fort behind. Then our ship went right next to the fort as we sailed out of the harbor, so we quickly took another photo. Since we were on a Back to Back cruise we had a second opportunity to get another pic a week later, with the sign this time. Yahoo! We appreciate the CO developing this virtual and keeping it active all these years. Thanks for adding to our adventures today, Nukeworker and Racquetball Girl

Apologies for late logging - just returned to the UK and catching up with the draft logs we made on our wonderful trip to Australia. Our last full say in Sydney prior to flying onto Singapore. Our church bell ringing group are having a day off from ringing church bells and enjoying a boat trip around the harbour area. On the way out we passed this island so took the opportunity to photograph it with the CRPK moniker on a piece of paper.TFTC Smile

In Sydney for a few days catching up with our son. Dropped the son off early for work and grabbed a few around the city while it was a bit quieter. This would be a great place to go an explore but instead we just took a photo and instead explored the area, we took it from. Thanks for placing the cache and doing the maintenance needed, so we can find this cache.

#1762This was the third of four finds for the day. After locating TFTC Sydney Shells, I noticed that Fort Denison was in clear view and I remembered the requirements for logging this cache. Until this point, I thought I would have to be on a ferry going past Fort Denison to have a good enough picture but this position turned out to be just perfect. I then realised I had to include my geocaching name in the picture but I didnt have my trackable nametag with me. Scrambling to think of what I could use, I checked inside my bag and found a notebook and pen. I asked my muggle friend to take my photo, and she managed to get me, my name and Fort Denison all in the photo. TFTV and for helping me fill in another D/T combination.
