LOL. Vielen Dank fr deinen Tradi, Bear_Left! Tolle Aussicht hier!_________________________________________Today was dedicated to the virtual cache Some kind of Sign. However, while hunting for the answers to this challenging virtual cache, there were several other interesting caches that I passed by. So I took the odd detour or stopover to visit these caches. Sometimes there was even another cache at the location of the waypoint of my main task! And so I also visited Bear_Left's Sign of the Bellbird tradi and fought my way through the blackberries. Only to discover that there was an easier way. LOL. Thanks so much for your tradi, Bear_Left! Great view here!
A trip over the dittecch and I'm in the land of the big white cloud. Yep, Made it to Christchurch and onto Dunedin for a week of caching.DAY Three, (24/10) yep, its the same crew of Bluewattle, Snickersallan, Wollaston and myself touring around town. Today we are doing a series of challenge caches, some solved puzzle caches and a few multis. It's a long drive to Diamond Harbour and Deep Gully Bay before heading over to West Melton and surrounds to get some of the eclipse series. Had a few others on the list as we passed by collecting some of Christchurchs cool caches. There are a few set target caches along the way.The are some amazing areas of Christchurch and I have enjoyed driving around and seeing the fantastic sights, thank you for showing us around. All logs were signed and all caches replaced as found. Thanks for the placements.
Touring around with a lovely group of Aussie geo friends for a few days in Christchurch, picking up some solved puzzles, and selected others on our to-do list. All finds today were in great condition and a credit to the CO's who place and maintain them for the benefit of the geocaching community.
Thanks for placing and maintain for our enjoyment Found with Snickersallan, Wollaston and chamadVisiting Christchurch for a few days before heading down to attend Geotora Mega
Outnabout with Chamad, Snickersallan & Bluewattle on my first ever trip across the ditch. After a week of caching around Brisbane and at events last month with other Geo friends, I couldnt pass up the opportunity to hop on board for a NZ Mega adventure. Another great day for caching. TFTC Bear_Left
Searched a lot with no luck then widened our search and checked a spot closer to the road and bingo. Lovely spot.Day 2 and chasing oldies and challenges today before heading south. Finally back in NZ and this time for a Mega. Starting in Christchurch before heading south. Lots to see and do with Kittykatch and Grimraider. Will be joining with others as the days go on.Thanks for getting me out and about Bear_Left
Dunedin MegaThe cache is hidden very close to the road. I made the find 15m east of my gz. Lovely spot with the old resthouse nearby. GrimRaider, Joolay and I are in NZ for the Dunedin mega event. It is great to be back to see more of this beautiful country. Thanks for hiding this cache Bear_Left
Nice cache, found on a cold day and signed cache. Bit prickly on way in, TFTC SL
Found this one much quicker than the last cache at the last sign. Thanks for the oldie!
I came up here with a group and was in a bit of a rush. What a neat place. I had read about Harry Ell and the houses. Now only one left to visit. Thanks for creating the cache Bear_Left. Will add my awful selfie soon.
Nice, quick find on a sunny autumn day - Initially approached GZ from Sign of the Bellbird shelter but quickly realised was not going to be an easy undertaking due to the number of thorns in the way. Changed tack and after consulting previous logs, dropped down from road above, and almost immediate had the cache in hand.

Ein schneller Fund. Vielen Dank für diesen Oldie und ganz herzliche Grüße vom Rumtreiber aus Braunschweig, Deutschland.
This was a quick stop due to construction in the parking area. There were definitely thorns and easier access from the road than from the wayhouse. Unfortunately, I did not have time to take any photos, but it looked like a nice area to explore in the future. TFTC!
Followed the track in from the Bellbird and easily spotted the cache which has obviously been well looked after by previous cachers - cheers. Popped out on to the road and back to the Bellbird to complete the new virtual. Always feels good to find an old cache. TFTC # 18,781
Have searched for this oldie before... today we finally changed the frownie to a smilie, yay! I remember those brambles and carefully trod them down...we searched the same trees at GZ I had searched before... then drifted away from GZ up towards the road. Urgh, hooray! now I understand how the people entering from the road find it easily. While the people who come from the Bellbird side struggle! Thanks to the earlier cacher who maintained this cache- all tidy and dry.
definitely approached from the more difficult direction.. through the blackberry
Hoping to find a few caches by the Sign of the Bellbird, this one was first nice and easy. Cache is also in great condition.
Found this oldie to finish off the loop. The inside was a wreck. I took out the old logs (soggy bricks, rather), gave it a clean, and put in a new log. Let’s all do our part to protect our senior caches!
On the way to Christchurch we made a stop at this beautiful location. Cool road round the Cooper's knob.

Easy find but log in terrible condition. Container full of water, log floating but love this place tftc
Decided to do the loop walk here and find the caches along the way. It started as a very beautiful sunny day, but later ended up drenching in a thunderstorm. Anyways, cache was easily found and its all good here. TFTC.
Ouch!!!! Them thorns hurt!!!!......Logs were a bit on the damp side, but still manages to write on it. Tftc
Found it after false start but a good spot pity the logs are all wet but we have had a lot of rain
Nice quick find here today. Great view and glad to see the restoration done here. Tftc
Time to head home but not before a few target caches for my D/T and month hidden grids.
Left the City and headed over the Summit Road which for most of the way was under a thick blanket of fog. Nice quick P&G here but absolutely no view TFTC

Great day up here today although very windy. No own to write on log so had to improvise. Tftc. Ps cache owner might want to retrieve all of the soaking old log books.
Flew down to Christchurch this morning. On my own for this visit. Hoping to pick up many puzzle finals and the usual virtuals, high FP caches as well. Hoping to get some walking in too to keep the blood circulating. I have hired a nice little car, very economical and quite sporty too.
Apart from the old cache nearby I had to come and get this one too. I love these old pack horse buildings that were used for recreation many years ago. Took me a few minutes to work my way to getting the cache, but there it is... looks like this place has been used as a toilet, glad to see the cache is still OK though. After the cache I got some great shots of the Bellbird building.
Thank you for bringing me here.

Nice quick find on my way back to the car from the bird series. Its 6pm, the sun is setting and the people are gone, and it's bloody lovely, looking forward to the scenic drive home
Out caching with TharntheHalken and sketching muggle. Admired the view of the harbour, then approached cache the long way to avoid thorns. Quick find, tftc!
When we arrived to the sign of the Bellbird we rushed for that cache, and couldn't find it. We then went for a walk, found many other caches and stopped in the ruins for a picnic. After reading some comments, we decided to look for it again, from a different angle, and it was in plain sight! Both zipbag and logbooks were wet, so I added a new piece of paper in a smaller zipbag, hoping it will last a bit longer.
With rustynz on a caching adventure to Christchurch. Discovering now that the wrong dates where written in the logs
Loving driving the Summit road, and finding a few caches along the way. Thanks for the hide

With rebel98 on a short trip away to Christchurch. All our dates written in the logs are wrong woops, luckily this online log is the correct date
We went for a walk down to the shelter first, and was suprised to hear all the bellbird singing
Beautiful views from the shelter, we have the perfect day to come and drive this road. Stopping for caches along the way.
As to the container it has let in water, and made everything wet inside. Thankfully, I could still write our names on the log. Thanks for the hide Bear_Left, and bringing us here.

Needs maintenance. Just a soaking wet and sodden mass of paper and bag now. Couldn't write in logbook.
Approached from the ruins and spotted it straight away. Exited up to the road without any real difficulty. Tftc
Down in Christchurch visiting my elderly mother and picking up a few caches. My muggle hubbie and I came for a drive up around here gleaning information for a Virtual cache, and I decided to pick this one up whilst I was here. Unfortunately the mist turned to rain while we were up here and it became very cold very quickly or we may have been tempted to collect a few more smileys. Maybe another time... TFTC PS the log remains very wet and I didn't have paper with me as it was an impulsive cache moment - the best!
Goodness gracious some people need to harden up a bit! Not very prickly at all - if you approach the cache from the right angle. Tftc - agree with other cachers, very damp.
Out on a mission to get a nice walk, some fresh air, and a few caches into a sunny winter's day! Prickly bits not too bad in approaching from the right angle! TFTC!!
We were out for a lovely afternoon of walks in the hills to find caches. We enjoyed seeing the Sign of the Bellbird a lovely place. Then went and found the cache. It is very wet, managed to sign, tipped the water out and put back in it's posy. Thanks for this cache Bear_Left.
Sadly our last Port Hills cache for this trip as we return to Wellington tomorrow abdwe barely scratched the surface. What a great recreational asset these hills are for Christchurch (and for geocachers ). TFTC
Meanwhile this is my third geocaching-trip to Middle-Earth . And I love it! [:X]
Unfortunately, this great vacation is now coming to an end and Christchurch is the last visiting stop for this time .
Sadly today (day #29) with again splendid, sunny weather was the last day for treasure-hunting on this trip .
I dedicated it to visit a couple of ‘OLDIES’ [^] in the south and east of the city .
A good decision, that was rewarded with awesome views and quite some adventures in the countryside - E.G street closures .
Above that, some pre-solved mysteries, a cool challenge, the webcam and the virtual cache at CHR-airport were on the list [^]...
Happy to visit the selected jewels - just like this one:
To turn this oldie into a smiley was quite worth the detour [^]!
Thanks to the owner [:X] for placing and longterm maintaining this cool cache and best regards from Germany!
P.S.: I’ll be back for the next kiwi-adventure!

#6220. I am down in Christchurch for a few days and have some meetings to attend next week. This weekend I hired a rental car so I can pick up a few targeted caches today and hopefully more tomorrow if the weather holds out. Wandered down the road from the previous cache and saw a gap into the trees. I had only gone a few paces when I noticed the cache. Last time I tried for this cache I searched from below which was a mistake. Signed the logbook and replaced as found. There is a bit of blackberry around so knocked it back with my boots. Thanks Bear_Left for choosing to hide the cache in this place. And yes I did hear a bellbird singing nearby while doing this cache. Note the cache was last signed in Aug. There is some couch-caching going on here.

Found after an interesting filming session at the Bellbird shelter. Our friend is making a short movie and we were a part of a vomity and bloody scene today I got to die a couple of times and puke some green stuff - awesome!
After a failed attempt to get the cache from road, we retraced our steps down to the shelter and went from there. Too much prickles on the ground for the dog to walk on so GM dived into to get the cache.
Report is that it is not too well hidden in the tree after all. Easier to find!

Found the tree after scratching myself to death ... but could not find the tub
Decided to go for a walk through this area - enjoying the native bush, and some very friendly native birds. Found this one last, as a large group of older trampers in the area when we arrived. TFTC
Out on a Sunday drive to put me into space
Approached this from the wrong level on my first attempt so after completing the loop track I had another go . didn't fancy all the thorns in shorts so found another way in for a quick find tftc

After seeing a few DNFs I wasn't confident I'd find this but it turned out to be straightforward. The cache is full of water with very soggy logbooks. Nice to find the cache is a decent size - if I had spares with me I'd have fixed it. It was awesome to discover the Sign of Bellbird as I've never been this far along this side of the Summit Road. I returned the cache placing it above the mud it was sitting in but it will need some maintenance. Thanks Bear_left.
When we walked around Kennedeys Bush last time we found all the new caches, but could not get to the oldest cache due to too many muggles. Today we were on a longer mission finding one of Grandalfs caches, so a quick stop here and without anyone around (surprise!) it was a quick and easy find. TFTC
Lovely walk on a sunny Winter's day. We found all the bird caches apart from the Moa (as one of us remarked: "It is extinct, what did we expect?"). Here we put one of the slightly damp logbooks and a collection of beads in a plastic bag as the existing bag was ripped. TFTC
