As there's been no cache to find for months, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.
The cache will be replaced but owing to the fire and the subsequent council cleanup it will be awhile longer yet.
Woops, I thought I had eliminated all disabled caches from my list of caches to hunt while in WA. At least I now know I wasn't just blind. Did see a snake though, on the footpath up to the observatory. It saw me first and was in the process of getting away from me.
We may replace the cache, although if the area is charcoal we doubt there will be little chance of a restoration.
found were it should be.but a bush fire has beaten me to this one found the end of a pencil and a spine of a log book may need to be archived

Could not find it. Bush was too dense for the Geokids I think there was something stange about the co-ords. We will try again after dressing better for the bush we encounted.
On an interstate caching mission, we had to forgo the full dinosaur walk, opting instead for an insertion point as close as possible to the cache site. Found after a short search. TNLN. Cheers Team Landcruiser.
Contents were throw al over the ground, replaced items in container. Many thanks, kids enjoyed this one.
Found it about 6pm today, with the sun setting over the lake. Lovely spot.

This one took about 10minutes of scrounging around, on my hands and knees, even under a few black boys but eventually found it at 2:30pm. i swear i searched there 3 times already. cheers TLC. Teem Trout
We visited the viewing platform first which is a great way to see all around the lake, then a short walk to a nice shady spot in the bush. We found the posted co-ordinates to be spot on, giving Ursula a quick easy find. Left Podcacher CD which we picked up from "Glendalough Open Spaces" cache. Took 1 cent coin and car air freshener. Signed Log.
Thanks for the hunt Team LandCruiser.
Thanks for the hunt Team LandCruiser.
Did not find this one even though we searched for about 15 minutes. Nice spot though!
Had a bit of a scounge around with no luck. The posted co-ords had us about 15m from the main track we walked in on, showing it to be 1m away with an accuracy of 4m. Now I am confused reading previous logs about incorrect details being out by 15m. Oh well, next time will just have to increase the search radius.
Third one for the day.LA Lancer and myself found it after much searching.Good find plenty of goodies in cache.

We've been trying to find this cache for awhile now since it destruction and resurection thanx to Comdek and Crew.
(the resurrection ... not the destruction)
The co-ords have been corrected to those supplied by Comdek and Crew and Chwiliwr. The cache is still in place (although the vegetation is taking over now) wasn't quite so difficult originally, but it will stop the muggles from finding it easily.

Did lots of bush bashing but could not find any hidden cache - must have been moved or stolen by a muggles or we were looking in the wrong place. We searched and searched so will be interested if this stash is found by somewone after us.
We ended up with a few cuts and scratches - will have to try again later...

Nice walk with some blokes doing maintenance work getting in the way. Used chwiliwr co-ords which put me at the cache as the listed ones had me wanting to go an extra 10m.

Called in today to drop one of the personal geocoins received by Belken from the US and to get the coordinates of the where I found the cache on the last visit.
TLC I had both an explorist 500 and my IPAQ. They both agreed on the latitude and were .002 different in the longitude so I averaged the longitude to the middle of the two in the above waypoint. Hope that helps you, and anyone else looking, find it now. The cache is not more than a metre from the trail I followed in from the main track. The difference is only about 13m from the posted coordinates but the bush is quite thick with blackboys between the two coordinates.

Found the cache - no problems Phew! Lucky I read the printout of the cache about change coordinates. Enjoy the walking along to the cache and beautiful lake too. Took: TLC’s card (love it) Left: calling card. Thanks to TLC for the hunt.
Went looking at the wrong place. Luckily I had brought along a printout of the cache and while sitting in the bushes with my two geokids who were getting lost and couldnt see me even if they were 5 feet away, I reread the logs and finally noticed the changes to the co-ords. Once they were installed into the handy dandy gps it took me to the exact spoit with little or no trouble.
Saw heaps of frogs in the grass trees. I think they were motorbike frogs.

La la la...another walk after abit of a sleep following the long walk at Wombat2.
It was a nice walk until we came eye to eye with lots of spikey grass things and ground cover that we actually had to try and lift our legs over...we didnt want to go in there which was just as well because the cache wasnt in there. Stayed in a small clearing whilst Janale Girls poked around. Left with nothing Ahhhh well we can now look forward to a nice long sleep in the back of the car all the way home!

Another lovely part of Rockingham that we have never discovered before. As it was getting towards the end of the day we parked as close as we could to the cache.
We climbed through a fence and then followed our GPS'r. Geomum being the brave thing she is went in and under the grasstrees...looking looking looking but nothing, then Geodaughter had a go but as per previous log was abit scared that I might find more than a cache. A few more approaches from different angles didnt help and we had to give up!!!
Didnt have any previous logs with us so didnt know there were new co-ords...doh!

My sister and I parked where recommended, checked out the thrombolites, saw a bit of bird life and failed miserably to find the cache
We were both fairly terrified of disturbing snakes during mating season, but gave the area a good going over for 30 mins or so before deciding that we were not brave enough to check out concealed places that could contain more than caches!
I won't be back in WA for who knows how long, so I hope she gets back to find it eventually.
Cheers, Dohertys

[Replaced the cache today, new cache is a 2 litre see-thru plastic container. Placed it at slightly different co-ords to before to try and prevent it getting Muggled AGAIN!
New Co-ords are:

115 43.145 E
The cache is fairly well hidden] under a black boy

We have visited this before. Today we were walking with friends who have not done any cacheing and we let them try and find it.
Using the GPS they got to the correct location but the cache was not to be seen anywhere. The kids looked under every bush near the location. It defently is not in the location it used to be.

[v] Found this cache at the second attempt, unfortunately it was scattered over a wide area and the container was missing. We managed to recover most of the contents and the logbook.
Another great cache in a really interesting location. I had a good stroll around before moving on to ground zero. It was an easy find.

Down Rockingham way for the day so thought I'd start the new months stats off by doing a few around here.
A nice little spot and a relatively quick find. Some of those "black boys"/grass trees near the cache are pretty big and given how slowly they grow I guess they must be very old - maybe they're prehistoric too!
Nice sized cache container - wish I had a bit more with me to fill it up.
Took: Nothing!
Left: Toy Motorcyle / koala / Tissues.

Hi Team Landcruiser, I found it. It was a good walk but my dog wasn't too fussy on the last few metres - a bit too overgrown for him. Nice & close to home as well. I didn't take anything and the dog did'nt fit in the cache so I didn't leave anything either.

Parked a little further around than suggested. Actually only about 50mtrs from the boardwalk. Pleasant walk with a fairly stiff seabreeze blowing to keep us cool. The paperless notes on the PDA proved to be a god send as the coords loaded into my GPSr from EasyGPS had me 20 odd metres west of where I should have been, quick double check and correction of the coords and found it easily.

Did the same as Oznaturist, and drove around. Parked in the car park just south of the viewing platform just 150 metres from cache. Had to Follow GPS, and bush bash the last 30 Metres, much to junior team tuff complaints of gee this is thick.
Found the parking area but it was a bit hot so I stayed with the air con and drove round. Sorry, looks like a nice walk. Found easily. T4TC
Found @ 14:20 with our niece Katie. We all enjoyed the walk around the lake, thanks. Saw the Thrombolites (although we weren't really too sure what we were looking for!)
Left plastic coloured ice cubes, took multi-coloured pencil.

Took TB Kookaburra home and going to give him a lift to the Eastern state by road, for a change.
This was in the middle of a very thick thicket (maybe that's why it's called a THICKet). Glad to see it was one of TLC's ammo boxes because we had Kookaburra TB who is as big as some caches, and took the opportunity to put him here. Lots of good stuff in the cache but took nothing.

After my disaster with this one last time, I am happy to say there were no problems at all this time round. A nice walk on a gloomy day. Thanks. T swizzle sticks, L box cutter.
After a big day of Geocaching we were alreading "walking like Dinosaurs". We followed the Elephants trail to the site and waited for the GPS to tell us the last details. We found the Cache but it looked like it was easier to get from the other side. By time we got around there we had lost the cache, so we back tracked to the original place and crawled in. We took nothing but have added a stciker and some plastic toys. The viewing platform is well placed for the new developement nearby. We wonder if thats why it was built. Great cache as always from TLC
I stuffed up big time on this one. I think I approached OK but miss read the decription from my little Palm PDA and tried to use the description for Walking on Water!
So I was wandering around in the scrub looking for a magnetic key holder.
Not surprisingly I did not find one, although I did pass a wrecked car, it was some distance from gz.

Found Cache!
Sorry TLC, we had to move the cache because of a group of young boys who came along just after we found the cache. They were bragging that they knew where the box with the toys was. I waited until they left, and went back in and relocated the cache a little deeper inside the bush. I would even suggest that the cache be moved even further away from this area because they boys have set up BMX jumps near to here. (Will E-mail you the new Waypoint.)
Excellent cache box! Took kite (which flies great once you work out which way is up.) Took Tennis Balls. (Zoe the Geo Dog loves Tennis Balls.) Left 2 x Bay-blades, 1 x Whistle, 2 x Games.

New cache contains:
Cocktail Stirrers, Stationary Set, Airfoil Kite, Corkscrew / Bottle and can opener, Pkt Tennis Balls, Neck Pen, Firefighter Action Man, CD Rom Ecotrekker - Environmental Mystery PC Game, Smiley Face Magnet, Retractable Dog Leash, Cache Cards and the usual stuff.

We can only blame ourselves for a poor placement being our first cache Clyde. It may have disappeared weeks ago who knows, but at least with our higher level of experience now we'll find the perfect place for it
Stay tuned for an update on co-ord's soon.
Stay tuned for an update on co-ord's soon.
Woops. Can't help but think that was my fault. As I said in my previous log, I was "sprung". I had a horrible feeling these kids were not convinced that I was a "wild life inspector" and would snoop around after I was gone. Sorry
Went to visit the cache today and add some new cache cards, but unfortunately it has disappeared. But what was worse was the state of the immediate area, it had been dug up all over the place and they left such a mess. I'll replace it shortly but in a little more protected area somewhere in the nearby vicinity.
Couldn't find this one after looking for about 10 minutes. I was determined not to give up, but unfortunately I was sprung by a group of BMX riders. Had to do some fast talking to convince them why I was "in the bushes" . I slowly moved away from the site pretending to look elsewhere so as not to draw attention to the actual site. I will be back!
Found after a longish search. I was about to leave when I caught just a glimpse of the box. Then again, maybe it was xray vision or intuition or just plain luck. Great spot, easy to find (the spot, not the cache), well hidden. TN, L: deck of playing cards and a calling card. Thanks for the hunt and the cache
Finally got this one after doing "Bay of Islands", worked out beautifully. After spending all that time last time and coming up empty handed, I was glad I had a better idea of where the cache was on this go. It is VERY well hidden, and I must say believe your GPS, it is correct! Thanks for the hunt.
Left a TB and took a TB!
Left a TB and took a TB!
1545 hours- Found it, but the challenge almost made us give up. Just missed "Devar", and agree that you must trust your GPS. It is well hidden. Weather cool and windy with threatening rain. Kept ducking to hide from passing walkers, as felt guilty about scrabbling around in the bush! Before leaving, we were stumbled upon by 4 kids, who stared at us like we were crims, before running off. We made some dummy "decoy" scrappings away from the cache to put them off the scent. Saw them sneak back in the area after we left, but they didnt appear to take anything. Suggest you are careful not to be seen at this cache and dont linger too long.
T- hairbrush, L- pack of cards. Also took TB "Little Miss Shining Golden TB" (430602).

Interesting area and I imagine changing daily with the amount of heavy machinery in the vicinity. Beautiful day for a walk and like others completely ignored the parking instructions. Couldn't find it and after seeing the photo I'm not surprised. With warnings about Tiger snakes I won't be sticking any part of my body in amongst the groundcover.
Well worth the visit.
Well worth the visit.
Got home from doing "Bay of Islands" had a coffee and then decided to go and have a crack at this one. We used to walk our dog here, so we knew where the tower was. BUT it took a lot of poking around in the bushes to actually find it. The booty in the cache was up to "TLC"s usual standard ))) We traded, logged and made it back to the tower in time to watch the sunset. Thanks Team Land Cruiser!!

I wish I had recorded the co-ords for where to park with this one!! After a couple of laps of the lake and much getting lost in that new housing estate I finally parked at what I thought would be the closest point. In retrospect I dont think it was!! I am soo glad that I took the thermos as the viewing stand was a great place to sit and take the scenery in. I cannot believe this area has gone ahead so much - cue the Memories song again!!!!
Thanks for an enjoyable stroll and turning on perfect weather for it.

Spent a while looking, felt like I turned the place upside down, but I did not find it.
Looking at the spoiler photo now I feel I must have been close. Will have to turn the place upside down again on my next try.
(I also seriously wonder just how the heck a car got to that location. Amazing where you can get em, eh? It's never a real cache hunt without coming across an old car!)

2.30pm: Missed out being a first finder and also missed out from grabbing TB: TLC-Tigger Loves Caches. It was Team Wombat who found first and grabbed TB before us. We parked in Richomond Ave instead of the other place. It was a good walking excercise for us - we needed it badly. Great and interesting location. Took the batteries and left a jigsaw packet from the other cache. Thanks, TLC
Found, Nice walk, new lookout has a great view of the lake and birds.
