Waypoint Cache container missing a weather seal conponent, could benefit from adding that part to keep contents from degrading
Visiting the Toohey Forest with friends to grab a few caches before heading off for an event later in the day. Finally, I'm getting to complete the last one in this series as it's been sitting on my to-do list for ages.Lovely walk to get to GZ, and after all the rock hopping, the container was finally found neatly tucked away.Thank you, Beardman75, for adopting and maintaining this very old cache.
TFTC smile20573 Out and about on a Sunny day grabing a cache to try and keep a challenge going signed as GS1947 on small logs With geofriends having a great time lots of walking and dirty shoesand a oldie for a oldie Thank you Manta (adopted by Rogainer, then Beardman75) for placing this cache for our enjoyment
After finding #2 yesterday, I realised that I didnt note Clue 3 for the final, so I had some time to revisit this lovely spot. The information sheet is quite damp, so I left it out to dry before replacing it and everything else back in its hidey hole.
out with fastedtb visiti really enjoyed the iq series ... just need to go find 5
Out chasing a couple of older caches. Number 1 on the list. After going around in circles finally at a position where we could spot the container. Log signed and all replaced. TFTC
Returned to Toohey Forest bright and early this morning to focus on cleaning up some of the caches and AdLabs around the Western Outlook and Sandstone Lookout areas. After this was completed, I headed further east to grab this golden oldie. I had been to WP1 to grab the necessary information to work out the final a few weeks back. The access trail that passed close by to WP1 has been barricaded, so I came in from a wider angle. I took pictures of the puzzle and once home, had it quickly worked out. Today, I approached the GZ from a southerly direction. I was soon greeted with a fantastic scenic location. Love the sandstone boulders. After marveling at the scenery for a while, I got down to business and commenced the search. With in a few minutes, I discovered what I was looking for. Great ticking off another old Queensland cache from the list and plugging another gap in my Jasmer challenge. I left a RobS72 2024 Pathtag for the next finder to have. TFTC. TNLN. SL. Favorite point awarded. TBs Prado Owl ; The Great Leap Forward Geocoin ; Bee Croc ; Rawhide ; RobS72 2000 Finds GC ; Forest Hill Ear Tag ; and Kiwi Bird visited.Find # 2152.
I went to the posted coordinates about a month ago, ignoring the fenced off signs, found the information, and went home to work out the coordinates. I remember it taking a bit of time as I miscounted a couple of times. Decided that it was time to find the actual cache, so after finding a nearby traditional, I walked here via a different route. When it came to the off track section, I grabbed a stick to swipe away spiderwebs and made my way to gz. I started looking at the wrong level initially but after about 10 minutes, I spied the good sized container. The original logbook is a mess but the new one is fine, just a little damp. Signed and replaced. Its a lovely spot but too many midges for me to hang around. Great to find another oldie. I had put this one off for a long time thinking that it would be beyond my capabilities so Im very pleased that it wasnt. Tftc
I came along with DisSister and Dragonsky this morning on their cache repair trip to this older cache. I really enjoyed the walk up the path through the grass trees in the early morning light, the flights of cockatoos through the trees, and the scatterings of rocks along the slopes. We met a few other park users once we joined the main trail, but it wasnt long before we left them behind, making our way to the GZ, which is very pretty Cache re-located quickly and repaired safely then replaced after Id signed it. We sat a little longer just soaking in the atmosphere before toddling back to the main path and back to the car. TFTC, Beardman75. =^.^=
I have been slowly working through the oldies recently so I dropped in to grab the info from WP1 when I was in the area last week. That night, I worked through the puzzle and soon had some good coordinates. This morning, Mr DisSister set some parameters for today cache hunt and this cache fit those perfectly so we headed over after breakfast. There was no one on the track as we made our way up and along, enjoying the surrounds. Leaving the track, we carefully picked a path through to GZ, where the GPS couldnt decide which way to point. We got to work, methodically searching all the nooks and crannies we could find. After some time hunting, I composed a message pleading for assistance and was just poised to send it when Mr DisSister called out that he had found it. Perfect timing. I climbed around to join him just as he opened the cache, dropping the lid straight into a hole under a boulder as he did so. We heard it bounce as it fell further and further into the hole. A torch shone into the hole didnt reveal anything, a long stick poked in didnt make any lid connecting noise and looking under from the other side of the boulder was also unsuccessful in locating the lid. Fortunately we had an elastic bag and a ziplock bag in our kit so fashioned a cover to keep the contents safe until we could return with a new lid, and replaced the cache.During the week, we took a trip to Bunnings to purchase a new lid and returned to the scene of the crime to repair the cache properly a few days later. The lid fit perfectly and everything is now back in order.Certainly a memorable cache find. Thanks Manta, Rogainer and Beardman75
It took us a couple of trips to get this one. After finding Toey we went on to find this in the bush. It was a bit more complicated, but as it was important to find for my Ausmer chart, we persevered. I found it was getting hit, as a Victorian, but I could keep cool in the afternoon. Im so glad this oldie is still in action!
Out with surefoot24 for us to hopefully pick up IQ3-Spellbound in this area before it got too hot. This is a long solved puzzle and oldie for me and all that as well as an AUSmer cache for surefoot24. Had started this one quite a few years ago. Somehow the info had even made it into a personal note on the phone instead of still sitting in the big pile of solved and partly solved puzzles cluttering up my desk. I remember coming in a different way to try find it but had to give away as the sun was rapidly sinking and the terrain didn't look conducive to a night time hunt.Lesson learnt and better maps made it an easier jaunt in today but it still took a while and a PAF for us to ferret it out of its hide. All good here and happy to finally tick this one off our various lists.TFTC
Out today after an event with a little time to cache. Picked up a couple of AD locations for a souvenir.
Why not get the oldie nearby0 as it was a DNF last time I was in here and was questioning myself if I was in the correct area. Reassuring myself, and there it was.
Nice to get this oldie (by myself).

Today, I joined Beardman75, Davinells, and karicka on a hike in Lamington National Park. Our plan was Albert River circuit to align with a newly published multi-cache, but it was a good opportunity to take the walk following all of the recent rain on a great temperature day. The waterfalls were splendid, and the creek crossings were able to be safely crossed without getting wet. Following the hike and on my way home, I took a quick stop at Toohey Forest to convert over a couple of previous DNFs.
After having a DNF here a few weeks ago, I doubted whether I solved the field puzzle correctly, so perhaps that was my reason why I missed the cache the first time around. Checking my solved coordinates with the current CO, I decided to make a return back here, and so I ended up visiting GZ under torchlight. As it turned out, the cache was very well covered and hidden away, and I think it was only from the right angle that I managed to catch sight of this cache. Unfortunately, the cache container and logbook were not in the best of shape. There was a fair bit of water inside the container that I emptied, and the logbook was very wet and saturated. In fact, I could barely open the pages without ripping them. It looks like its protective plastic bag had been ripped, so didn't offer any support to the logbook. A maintenance visit may be required here. Thanks Manta for the cache placement, and Rogainer followed by Beardman75 for its ongoing maintenance. It was nice to have found this oldie 04/2004 hidden cache, of which is one of Queensland's 500 oldest yet active geocaches.

This afternoon, [@jesswrigley](http://coord.info/PRNW59T) and I headed to Toohey Forest Park in Nathan where we had another walk around the area, focusing on the eastern side of the reserve. Since our previous visit on 2/04/2022, the *Mr Shine! Him Diamond!* Adventure Lab was new, so we also used those Locations to walk past along the tracks. Other than a few mosquitoes that were around the lower-lying areas and creeks, it was another enjoyable walk around trialling our new baby carrier backpack.
We took a cross-country route to this initial waypoint, and spent a fair amount of time searching around. We found the obvious hinted structure, but after a few loops, nothing was found. Against the hint, we checked inside and then started to take a deeper look around. Still nope. We then searched around the vicinity thinking the coordinates may have been out, and by this stage, [@jesswrigley](http://coord.info/PRNW59T) and I were starting to get attacked by a few resident mosquitoes. With one last-ditch effort, somehow I made the clue find. Nicely hidden away, and it obviously alluded our search.
Whilst walking a few of the trails, and a strategic switch of responsibilities for carrying baby Warren, I started to work my way through the field puzzle, and without too much checking or QC, I had a set of coordinates that seemed to match a nearby location. So we took a stop past there on our return back along the tracks, taking a slight off-piste approach. We spent 5-10 minutes searching around that area, with past logs seeming to suggest that we were probably in the right area, but no cache eventuated. I started to doubt my working, so we figured we would bail, and perhaps return another day after properly working through the list. Thanks anyway Manta for the cache placement, and Rogainer and Beardman75 for its previous/current maintenance.

Did the WP quite some time ago, so about time I collected the final. Well... it was an adventure. There is a lot of "do not enter" fencing on the small tracks I assume lead near the final. So I entered from what might not be a great place. Then the GPS on my phone had me going the wrong direction - the compass was playing opposite day! Finally got the GZ and took ages to locate the cache, include a rather nasty tumble on the very slippery rocks. I have a nice bit of bruising along my hip and back! Finally located the container, then my pen failed me - too much using it to poke in nooks and crannies I think. There is an improvised signature / muddy fingerprint. It was the best I could manage today. I then hobbled out of the bush and onto the next cache. TFTC!
Green Geckos, Muggle65 and I were on a D/T hunt for a challenge cache. I had 15 caches on the list. In the end I found 11 for the day. The breakdown was 8 multi, earthcache, traditional and a mystery. I left in the dark and got home in the dark.
The TOTT’s we needed today were kayaks a ladder and torches. Yes a mine was enter. A few steep hills climb.
Lot of laughing was had, some stories were told.
Now we are heading home from Gold Coast. Green Geckos decided we would stop for this one. She knew I needed this one to fill a spot in my monthly calendar.
It was fun trying to find the way. GZ in the dark.

Attempted this cache a few months ago but came up empty. Had some clarification and a bit of help from a previous finder, so was armed with more info heading back to GZ today.
There’s been more work in the area since I last visited and it looks like both tracks involved with this cache are closed.
Quickly went straight to the cache this time and added our name to the log, then headed back to the main track.
Thanks for all involved in keeping this cache alive.

Went looking for stage one during the previous lockdown but failed, blame it on dusk and drizzle.
Morning bikeride today, found step 1, solving the puzzle has become easier over the years that this cache has been active.
With numbers that looked promising I made my way to the final.
Did a circle, failing to spot anything suspicious, came back to where I started and made the find.
The log has dried out and it is all in reasonable condition.
The final IQ test will have to wait until we are allowed more than 10km of travel.
Thank you for hiding this geocache

Down in Brisbane for a conference but had some time to do some caching before hand. Once my GPS settled I located WP1, took a seat and did some puzzle solving. With some good looking numbers I headed to GZ. Searched around and around, went in circles, high and low but could not locate the cache today.
I will be back!
I will be back!
After a failed attempt here yesterday I contacted the CO last night to confirm I was in the right spot. After receiving the thumbs up, I returned here today to have another look. After an hour or so here yesterday, I spent another 40 minutes looking here there and everywhere, reading previous logs and looking around some more.
I was about to leave when I noticed something ... ah yes, that's it!!
I loved reading some of the old notes in the log, glad to see the cache has stood the test of time.
Thanks so much to Manta, Rogainer and Beardman75 for keeping the series going. A fav from me.

Spent a fair bit of time here today looking around, but didn't find the cache. I'll be back!
I had a couple of people contact me saying they couldn’t find this one so I came to have a look for myself. The cache is still there and safe in its hide. Happy caching
This was the first of this series we found back in May 2017. Somehow we had lost or not kept a copy of the clue that was needed here, so we came for a walk into this bushland area today and....dang! .... despite finding this hide in the past, after a good 25 minute search we called it quits today.
I am sure it’s there, but no luck for us today. Instead we went back to the starting WP and collected the puzzle information again and will re-look at this one.
Getting closer to number 5 !
Thanks Beardman75 for adopting these. Definitely worthwhile for the caching community.

Muggle65 and l sat on the damp ground and worked out the solution. Luckily the walk to GZ was enough to dry our pants before we went back to work. Thank you so much for looking after this old girl ??
Out & about with TGG on the Southside & have been looking into the IQ series. With an hour or so before we had to be anywhere we disappeared into the bush and solved WP1. Again I am continually amazed at all the fantastic green spaces. No koalas today, with the cache found we logged & returned as we’d found it.
Thanks for the cache and to all those who have helped maintain. Found with AJsCache. We are thoroughly enjoying this series. Now onto IQ4..
Cheers

We came from different directions to meet here for an afternoon walk. Found the cache after a disappointingly short stroll through the bush, happy to add a smilie here at last.
Thanks Manta for placing the cache, Rogainer for maintaining it all this time, and Beardman75 for taking over the maintenance.

With a day off from work I had planned to grab a few caches and do a nice little walk around Toohey Forest and Mt. Cotton parklands off Mt. cotton road, then grab a few puzzles caches that I’ve solved on the way back home. Having to continue my trad a day and my cache a day challenges it was going to be a nice day of caching. But some days all good plans don’t seem to end as planned. During the day the weather changed and I got rained out, plus on one cache I found some partly buried barb wire to which I got extremely messed up in and fell and subsequently ripped my right leg up on, ending the walk.
I started my day in Toohey forest in the attempt to complete the IQ series. Having solved the puzzle and requiring the clue for the final I sat and tried to work out the final. However it seems IQ 4 is disabled, so a few phone calls and some helps and I soon had the details for IQ 4. A bit of a play and I soon had the finals for 5. And its a drive to another forest land for a walk around.
I really hope the CO for this series has a maintenance day soon or passes these caches to someone else, it would be a HUGE loss to see these old and remarkably great caches archived.
While I was here I did grab another cache, this cache was a little wet inside but was still able to sign the log.
Thank you for placing them here and I look forward to walking this area again.

We had a great time finding this cache yesterday! We were joined by our good friend, for whom it was a first ever geocache! We had a good walk, really enjoyed the word puzzle (which took some teamwork and internet access) and were thrilled to come away victorious after finding ground zero. Caches were in good order, though the container for the clue at WP1 seems to have lost its end and the (laminated) clue had suffered a bit of water damage. We found our phone GPS struggled a bit approaching GZ as we hit uphill sections - we figured the incline meant we could go a few metres up the slope without necessarily being at significantly different co ordinates. After not much luck, and with waning confidence in our GPS, one of our team eventually turned detective and used the gallery photos to narrow down the vantage point...and victory dances (as well as smacking of foreheads at the simplicity of the hide!!!) soon followed. We were delighted to pick up Police Officer Duck, who has faithfully served at IQ3 for close to 15 months!! With the paths of Toohey now safe and quiet, this dedicated hero is ready for a sea change...and we look forward to finding him a new posting worthy of his credentials! TFTC Manta & Rogainer!
Well this is a bit embarrassing but we couldn’t come up with the cache after an hour search. At first we naturally thought we had some wrong coordinates but a PAF to a previous finder backed up what we had as correct. Easy find this, easy find that, look for a SPOR were the hints we got. We even got GZ described to us and we were there but we just must have walked all around it. No doubt when we come back it will be in the first place we look so get ready for the revenge visit. Thanks until next time
Came by this cache yesterday as my target one and tried to solve it in the field but couldn't get them to work (had me 15klm away). Came home to use a big piece of paper and found my error.
Today with coords that looked good, I took the scenic route in. There has been a fire on this side of the ridge and luckily cache had survived and still in good condition.
SL then returned as found. Left Police Officer Duck TB.
Thanks for a very interesting puzzle and learnt more words that are not in my Funk & Wagnells.

I've had this delightful oldie solved in my target list for some time, so when Eskies5 and I were to be caching in this area today I asked her to add it to our list for the day. We didn't complete the full list (surprise, suprise!) but we did find this one! Thanks for the puzzle and cache, Rogainer.
Travelled down the Range from Toowoomba nice and early to attend the Bubbly Bridge Flash Mob Event...now it was time to tick some boxes on various lists. After meeting a family of newbie cachers along the track we headed bush and was intrigued by the cleared areas of leaf litter around various trees and logs in the area. A quick find when we reached GZ. All good with this one. TFTC Rogainer.
The marquis cache of the day and a long time in the collecting. Had initially chased down parts of this puzzle over time in order to collect the 50 oldies challenge. Alas I manged to snag other oldies from other areas. But the appeal of this old puzzle is that it filled a gap in my month calendar so time was needed to improve the old IQ.
Luckily a lot of information now lies in the ether and there are tools to extract this information. Didn't need a picnic lunch today but a cold drink would have been useful while Gcoven and I sat the exam. And passed we did, eventually . . .
At GZ sighted the hide area and gas escaped a few orifices. There seems to be a common thread of hiding spots for oldies . . . Well the search commenced and it didn't take too long before I uncovered the cache from the right level. Thanks to Manta and now Rogainer for maintaining these oldies for all to enjoy.

So now he appreciates the IPhone as it was indeed a handy resource but I must admit TeamARF is better at maths than me! Took a bit of time to deduce but finally got some results and off we went a hunting ! Nooooo!!! Not rocks! Around and around we went in the heat till again TeamARF came up with the goods! Awesome cache!
Mrs SP had her eye on this cache for some time so on our drive back from the Goldie, we were pulling in and going to attempt this sucker. Upon reading the description on the way here, we were unsure if we would be able to complete this as we were told to come with water, food, pen, paper and some smarts. Hmmm, we have a pen and paper. Arriving at WP1 we soon located what we needed and then the instructions were read out.
Thanks to new age technology on our side we have online everything at our disposal, back in the olden days we would have had to leave GZ and get a book of some sort as none of us were literate enough here to get this thing sorted.
We all had a task, one was a writer, one was a googler, one was a checker/matcher and one was a mathematician, phew thank heavens we had those giant pies before we needed this brain power. We had some co-ords that looked healthy so off we went. We were getting closer meterage to different objects so we divided up and it wasn’t long until Mr SP had it.
We really enjoyed the field puzzle for this one, leaving a FP behind.

Sunday. We’d had this cache on our to-do list for ages and ages. Today, out with 4ando, I mentioned this one in the car on the way back from the Coast, and it was decided it was a good cache to get! Yay. We managed to get our act and info together as a group (which made it much easier than had I been on my own). We got what we thought looked like good co-ords and headed off to grab a cache. Found quickly after arriving at near GZ. Luckily, I’d got a good vantage view of something that looked slightly out of place and ordered Mr SP over to the spot. Yep came he call, got the cache! Yay. Loved getting this cache for the puzzle – aces, location – aces, cache hide – aces again! Would have to give a FP based on this , not to mention the date placed helps us with one of the many challenges that’s out there.
This was the 4th of 5 caches found on today's trip.
Thanks ***Rogainer***, for showing us this place.

Collected my information a while ago but with time restraints I have only just got back to find this one. Hills kill my bad knees but I waited until it cooled down a bit then I trudged off for my hunt. Got close to GZ and couldn't see any stump that my ve of help but I did see a SPOR that I thought needed checking and yes it's all good. Signed the log, noted the clue and replaced cache as found. No old enough for an oldie but I think I did need that date for my spaces in my grid. TFTC
Took us a little while to find the cache as the GPS was playing up around here. Maybe I need a new phone? I dropped in a cool little keyring and picked up Archie's Signal the Frog. TFTC and especially for the puzzle.

A nice December morning was spent riding Merida around the Toohey and My Gravatt trails, getting exercise and collecting smilies along the way.
This one was on the list to collect, and after a short bushbashing and scramble, a SPOR was spotted, underneath which was the container, still in great shape. But it seems that despite an off-track location, some muggles have found the cache

Thanks to the CO and Teamtinda for checking. Returned today to this nice outlook and spotted the camo from a good 5m away. It must have been well buried before. Great to have found this old one. We noted down the clue, signed the log and the hid. TFTC.
Well, that is a little embarrasing... when the cache owner cant find his own cache "blush"
In my defence, It had been a while since I had been there.
Thanks team tinda for making the effort to return

If there’s one thing I hate, it’s being the last to touch a cache before it goes missing!
So I came back just now to have a look... and found it again. Yay!
Apologies if I rehid it too well, but there have been heaps of leaves and branches down since I was here last which provided more cover than needed.
Cache is now rehidden at final coords, between rocks, under a pile of stones.

After finding WP1 earlier, I had a look around to find the next waypoint but couldn't come up with anything.
Found... for the second time. Now that I'm spending a bit more time on the Bayside, I've set my sights on this series. I found this one in April 2013, and it's the only one series I've found, but did I keep a copy of the clue sheet handy somewhere? Of course not!
So, since I was wandering past, I dropped in to the WP - my memory of where to find the container was reliable, though sadly, one cap has disappeared and I couldn't locate it. So I have added a pebble instead, but it may be worth a visit.
Back in my car, I redid the puzzle - I would say Google and mobile phones must have reduced that original Difficulty level in practice - and although I either disagree or made a mistake in my calculations, it was easy to change one number and head back out.
Arriving at the GZ, I was suddenly overwhelmed with dejavu - not just because I have literally been here, almost five years ago - but because I suddenly remembered the context of my last visit. That particular month and year brings back some bad memories of a time when I feared I was about to lose my job, very unfairly. I did a lot of caching for a couple of weeks in that period, as I was very sad and anxious, and getting out into the bush was great stress relief.
I recall in particular sitting on this particular rock for an hour or more, letting the cache contents dry out, while I pondered my destiny.
Thankfully, I didn't lose my job, justice was done and all was well. But it was eerie to be back here again, reliving that particular day.
All good with this cache - now on to the rest of the series!

I have been wanting to do this series since I first spied them almost two years ago - but it was never the right time for me to head south of the river with time to spare. But today, today was the day to target these conundrums. I packed water, a hat and sunscreen, my laptop - and a Fangsoki just to be sure, and ventured over the bridge.
Stopped up from here and trundled down the hill to check out ... ok ok - I am indeed blind. I searched and searched and searched. The GPSr kept bouncing me around, but honestly there was only one spot to look. But sadly, once again, I needed the "ASSistance" from my ever so gentle advisor.
Rightio then. Some effort needed here. This took a while and still didn't make much sense to me - so I resorted to quadratic equations to get round numbers - that worked pretty good actually. Not perhaps exactly as intended, but numbers were arrived at and so off we went.
Came at the final GZ from a less than direct angle, and so the vista unraveled slowly in front of me. THIS is the sort of landscape I adore. I stood, spellbound (see, I found a way to include this word) for a moment before settling in for the search. In due course a logbook was discovered and inscribed.
Thanks for placing this cache, Manta (Maintenance by Rogainer). Found in OK condition - but the final puzzle sheet needs some loving (again, thankyou Crew 153). And that'll do for today. Epic conclusion to follow.

Mrs Just a Trifle was out for a day of caching fun with barbbowman and Raynersinoz. We had decided to head over to the other side of town to see what adventures we could find We had previously gathered the information required to work out the final co-ordinates and now we were able to get back to look for the cache.
We seemed to walk around in circles for a while, but eventually we managed to locate the cache and with our names added to the log book, we continued on our way
Thank you Rogainer for having placed the cache and for maintaining it for everyone to enjoy

I visited the first waypoint for this cache with barbbowman and Mrs JAT a few weeks ago on my birthday and we gathered the information needed to find the final. I enjoyed looking up what was required at home, but I didn't get back until today because my caching buddies have been a bit under the weather. The forest was lovely after all of yesterday's soaking rain and after a short walk we found ourselves at GZ. Hmmmmmm, this could take awhile. Our phones were all over the place this morning - there was lots of cloud cover - and I was starting to worry that my calculated coordinates weren't quite right. I decided to search a bit further afield and I just happened to look on the right angle - oh thank goodness, it was the cache! Yay! All is good here, TFTC Manta and Rogainer
so good to get out and cache today ... and in the bush ... even better
been sick and totally forgot I was supposed to do something with our info we picked up ... doh
lucky rio had done her homework
I have it all worked out now but
clouds are going to drive us insane today lol

On our walk today in this beautiful forest area, we really enjoyed discovering lots of new pathways. At stage one we set down and worked out what was needed. Sadly our numbers had us on the runway at Brisbane airport. We began the homework again and with a little number jiggling, came up with a set of coordinates that looked a lot more viable. Not quite sure how or where we went wrong. At GZ we found a clue that we will need in the future, and the cache which was very well hidden, almost buried. We have covered it well but not buried it again. We loved the puzzle and the work that has gone in behind it. GZ is a beautiful spot with great views.

It was some time ago when we grabbed this clue and solved the riddle, which was quick and easy .
Fast forward until today, I haven't been back since to this neck of the woods and collecting some solved puzzles is on the agenda. Even better this is for a mini milestone - 1400 (yay! ️).
I have to admit I was totally unprepared for this today (shorts, singlet, thongs, no bug spray, no hat, no water, no walking buddy!) which I wouldn't recommend!!!
Anyway, I lived to tell the tale . To think I would have never done anything like this a year ago! ️
After collecting a nearby traditional, I back tracked to another path I had seen earlier passing a runner on the way. I continued on up a secret pathway (not on my map anyway!) and continued on remembering geographic features as I went. Soon it came to a point where some light bush bashing was required, which my attire whilst not cut out for this sort of thing, was fine in the end.
Onwards I came to a clearing and some amazing bush features before me. It really was an amazing sight to see .
Now time to find the cache! I played hide and seek for a few minutes, which in the end was not really required, as the cache in all its glory was just sitting there pretty exposed to the elements. I took the cache to a bush style table to sign the log, leave some swag and noted the clue.
I replaced as found and added some natural camo for protection, not that I think many muggles would find this gem of a place .

Quick and easy find with my noob gang. Now just gotta decipher it...another day...after some sleep. TFTC
Yay, here's another one ticked off my D/T grid
I must admit I didn't solve this one in the field. I wrote everything down and went home to the comfort of my laptop computer and let that do most of the work for me
I'm not ashamed to admit I'm not much of a wordsmith. Well maybe a little embarrassed
When I'd worked out the puzzle I tried doing the sums but wound up with a set of coordinates that where closer to the Moon than Toohey's Forest? Ok, that's a bit of an exaggeration (or is it?) [?]
So I changed a number by approximately 1 and that gave me a set of coordinates that looked like they might work [^]
The only way to find out if they were correct or not were to go visit them! I'd had my lunch, so back I went to Toohey's to see what I could find At GZ things didn't look too much like a T1.5? but I searched up and down and around and under until at last I spotted something that just might be a cache. It was the cache
Happy days, as it was certainly getting quite hot out there in the forest today. I'm glad I spotted it when I did
Took nothing, left nothing, signed log. Thanks for the cache Rogainer, and have a favourite point for the very clever puzzle

Stopped to get the clue to this next IQ puzzle hoping it was readable and/or working... As it turned out it seemed too easy - only needing to know the definition for one word (Z)? Really? Not even looking at anything else we could easily guess the only possible number for Y that would put us in GPS range... Some quick mental maths and a location was entered in - grabbed the final on the way back to collect NOS.. One more down
I've had my eye on this puzzle for a while and today was the day that I decided to go and get it. With the kids in tow, we parked nearby and wandered in. I expected to merely collect the clue to solve later requiring a return trip.
But, when we arrived at the waypoint and read the puzzle, I figured we could to it there and then. I sat down with Miss 12 and we nutted it out. After about ten minutes we had come up with a set of coordinates that looked plausible and off we went.
The kids loved the terrain around GZ and were jumping about all over the place. When we got to the spot, the cache was in plain sight so we made sure to cover it with a bit more camo when we left.
I took note of the clue for the final and left a swappable but there wasn't much in there to take. Apart from that, it was in good condition.

I had visited WP1 so long ago it wasn't funny but hadn't had the time to figure out GZ so left it!
I finally had a chance to return to the area so it was definitely on my target list and it would also tick another box for the Jasmer grid.
There was one other car in the carpark when I drove up so I wondered if I would encounter another Cacher.
It was very pleasant walking along the formed track to near GZ and a short bush bash got me to my target.
A quick scan of the area and I spotted my prize and another smilie on the map!!
Thanks Rogainer for keeping this one alive!! TFTC SL

Nurseyjulie had been wanting to find this cache for some time. So today, we set off down the path to GZ. There, Nurseyjulie spotting the container and we opened it to find what we expected. Mr Google was our friend. With answers, we soon had numbers.....but they werent quite right. Some intelligent guesswork came up with another set. They looked okay, so we set off along the tracks again. A bit of a trek through the bush and we were at the spot. A short search and I soon had the container in hand. We added our names to the logbook and returned the cache to its hiding spot before we returned to the car. TFTC
I have been wanting to collect this one for a while and today, SelvaGirls and I discovered the first WP. We decided to make an attempt to solve the clues in the field. We googled every word and checked every meaning. Soon had some numbers and started the maths. However, we needed to jiggle some around before we had some sort of co-ords... so we decided to check that spot. As we ventured up and around, we started checking the spots and SevlaGirls discovered the container. All in good shape here and glad to get an older cache again. TFTC Rogainer
Out caching with Remsjw, lisylou,Jemillalucy, bennyboppers and misssusan. We couldn't solve this last time but took away the information and worked it out at home. Came back today to find the cache. Nice easy find. Dropped in TB and grabbed the previous TB. Got the clues for the final. TFTC!
We came by here a couple of weeks ago but the numbers didn't seem to work. After a little homework the numbers seemed to work better and we set off for a quick find. Tftc
Tough Mothers had to revisit this one after reworking the puzzle for the coordinates. Worked it out but left the information at home but mnance101 had worked it out so off we went. Spot on.
I found the information at the starting point a couple of weeks ago... not being the smartest thing I retreated home and spent some time using the Web to work out some co-ordinates... With some time to spare decided to stop and have a go... I definitely came in the hard way... found the container without a lot of trouble... Log is a little damp so I replaced the snap lock bag, noted the clue and replaced all as found... left Snappy the Crocodile to continue on... tftc....
After watching a certain newly released movie last night I was inspired to go out and find some more clues to this epic series of caches. I had the day to myself for a change and decided to make a concerted effort to locate and solve the remaining three in the series. So I got up early and drove the 90 minutes to this beautiful park to begin today's adventure. I had never been into this place before despite having driven past many times before, so I was amazed at what I discovered here.
I was only using my iPhone with it's puny little antenna so I did quite a lot of bee dancing at WP1 until I decided to just have a good look where I thought it might be. Yay, success! But, the container has suffered a bit with the wet weather and I had to be very careful in opening it without breaking the lid. Also the contents are wet, but readable. As I perused the instructions I also marvelled at what I can achieve "in the field" these days with my smart device, assuming the battery holds out! Just as an aside, I also was amused to see some words that I have only ever come across in episodes of "The Goons" from the 1950s - well done!
Anyway, before long I was off to GZ and very much enjoyed this little excursion as well. Thanks Manta for your work in setting this up and Rogainer for your excellent job of keeping it all operational.

We solved the word puzzle earlier. Dropped off TB "What the Lump". Found at 5.45pm on 1st April 2015. TFTC.
A challenging puzzle to be sure, and took a few iterations of workings on my pad before anything resembling a solution became apparent. Again I blame the heat...it really is a stinker today. I certainly thought my vocabulary was improved by this cache. Indeed I have now used the word 'Scrofula' several times (sadly none of them in there appropriate context or meaning!).
We had our GZ calculations soon enough, and headed on over. A nice walk in some interesting terrain. CP nearly tripped over the cache as he walked around blindly. (The heat maybe?) CP offered an unusual display of manhood as I sorted through the logbook. All signed and returned after taking the clue. Some parts of this are looking very familiar now!
Note the circuitous route we took on this series today...poor planning indeed!.

Swellerfungus and I had planned a day out caching in south and south eastern suburbs collecting puzzles, older caches and interesting or unusual caches. This series was our primary target for the day.
Some poor planning on our part, meant we had to backtrack from the Bayside to collect this one. Never mind. The first container was quickly found with reference to the hint, though it took a bit of extracting from its hole. We found some shade nearby and set about solving this one in the field. I knew the meaning of only one word and was a miserable fail on the other part of the task. A couple of iterations of our solution, and we had workable coordinates which looked good.
The final location is a cracker! What a fantastic spot for an cache. The rock formations reminded both Fungus and I of parts of Sydney. I actually stepped over the container before I spotted it. A convienaint rock ledge provided a seat, so we could record our names and the clue.
Many thanks, Rogainer. I enjoyed this one. Now onto number 4.

This one was a long way from home but still fun all the same. Part 1 was really fun, I thought I had to jump in the stump but eventually I flicked him out. After nutting it out I was soon running up to GZ. Had some muggles close by for their afternoon walk but they were too focused on their business.
Thanks Manta/Rogainer...have clues

On the way home with geohound thought we would take a copy of spellbound to do some puzzling.
Needed two visits for this one. First to record the puzzle then home to work out the final co-ords. What an interesting puzzle, no hope of working this out in the field.
Second visit produced the required clues after a short hunt. Cache fine but the log very damp from condensation (pages sticking together). Left log outside the snaplock bag to dry out. Now for the clues to IQ4... TFTC

I received a phone call from Nyssaflutterby asking if I wanted to come out and grab a few caches with her. We soon made the plans to meet near this cache and the following morning I was pulling the car into a parking spot.
We both parked at different paths so decided to meet eachother at the waypoint. I headed in through the bush and soon spotted Nyssa's pink shirt. I headed over and she mentioned that she couldn't find anything. I had a search myself and came up with the container.
We retired to a log nearby and started sorting out the information into something useful. It really wasn't too hard between the two of us. We did bring some extra items to help out. Before too long we had some coordinates that looked good. We replaced the container and heading up the path towards GZ.
Before too long Nyssa and I were standing at GZ and started to search for the cache. I spotted it from my high vantage point and we headed over to retrieve it. The logbook was signed and the container replaced as found. Thanks for the cache Rogainer.

This cache has been on my "to do" list for a while now, I noticed that Net88 hasn't been here, so I offered if she would like to join me.
We met at the posted coords and it didn't take long until Net had the puzzle that we needed in her hand. We found ourselves a comfy log and with a bit of team work soon had a decent set of coords. We then wandered up the track and it wasn't long before we found ourselves at GZ.
With a lot of nooks and crannies about the place I thought the search would take a lot longer, but again Net was on the ball and spotted the cache quickly. We pulled the beasty from it's hidey hole and set about signing the log.
Thanks for the cache Rogainer

I had managed to grab the information at WP1 a couple of weeks ago and calculated the necessary information at home. Passing by today I decided to make my way to the final GZ and grab the cache. A pleasant walk along the trail despite the windy conditions. Arrived at GZ and had to do a few circles of the area before finally locating the hiding spot. Signed the log and obtained the necessary information for later. Dropped a TB for the next visitor. Tftc
It has been a few years since we've been up this way but another visit to nearby relations gave us the opportunity to go for some walks once more in this excellent area of forested hills. We set off early before the day heated up and this time were able to find WP1 without any ado. Can't imagine why we couldn't locate it last time but it wouldn't be the first time we've been afflicted with cache blindness. We took note of the information and that night came up with a solution which made sense. Thus the next day - which was a replica of the first weather wise (sunny, warm & humid) - we returned to the forest and made our way to our calculated GZ. Was a pleasant and peaceful bush clad area and we soon had the cache located. Despite the robustness of the cache container we found the inside a bit damp. The log book in particular - whilst still useable - was very damp indeed. Not mouldy yet but perhaps not far off. Needs a day or so to dry out on a sunny Qld day and all would be good. Excellent cache in a great location. Thanks Rogainer.
