I used the hint to help, but neither Muggle Husband not I could find this cache. Our GPSs concurred on which tree to focus on, and we widened the search but all we can say is "No idea".
Searched all large trees within 20 metres of gz and no regular size container nor any other size searched for 20 mins. Cache owner needs to do maintenance
Just not winning today - - felt really uncomfortable scrambling around the beautiful sand dunes. I’m guessing the gardens approves but I did dive in, and just couldn’t find the cheeky cache.
Pretty much the nicest thing about Port Augusta are these Gardens, happy to be visiting again while our car is serviced, the gardens that is, not Port Augusta!
Hubby tells me it wouldn’t need servicing so often if I didn’t want to visit so many caches.

Off for a northern tour with Purrfect Di and Jack...
somehow we ended up at your cache ! ! !
A quick walk from the car took us to a nice part of the gardens, with lots of animal tracks in the red sand but none to be seen nearby. They probably watched from afar
Thank you Freddo for another cool yellow smiley on our SA geomap
"A cache a day keeps the doctor away" - all part of my health care plan
----------------------------------------------------
2020 won. it's not over yet!
- - search at a social distance wherever you can - -
Keep away from the nasty bugs ( except travel bugs of course )
- keep a distance from people as much as you can, they spread the nasty bugs! [:o)]
- go out and find or place some new caches in our regional areas where it's safer away from bugs!!

On a road trip around the Mid North and Eyre Peninsula, geocaching as I go. Predominantly targeting old caches, solved mysteries and grabbing some interesting looking traditionals.
After a bite to eat, I was ready to grab a few more caches.
I parked the car and headed off on foot for the last could hundred metres. I was watched intently by a vouof rather large kangaroos. Normally they would hop away, but these two didn’t budge. They were standing upright and alert - I was expecting them to come after me. I proceeded cautiously and gave them a very wide berth.
Cache was found and the kangaroos weren’t spotted on the return walk to the car.
Thanks for the cache Freddo.

Day 2 of our EP road trip saw us drive from Port Broughton to Whyalla. We stopped for a few caches along the way mainly targeted and in some interesting spots.
Thankfully the weather cheered up, the stinking hot heat gave way to a cool change and some torrential rain. At the arid gardens in Whyalla we saw a tonne of lizards come out for a drink break, amazing sight .
We had lunch here when we arrived it was 35 degrees when we left it was 25 degrees and very very wet, what a change. Enjoyed the walk to get to this one, we will have to come back another day for a proper look around. Seeing all the sleepies having a drink in the puddles was the highlight of my day. TFTC Freddo

Found it TFTC. Of course the discussion is ... who made the hole ... wombat? Fox? Hmmmmmm
What a fabulous landscape. Slow going as my muggle partner kept stopping to take photos. TFTC.
I stayed on the path as the signs instructed me to do, even though at times, I wasn't getting any closer to the posted coordinates.
It wasn't a hot day, so it was a comfortable walk, examining all the plant life. There must have just recently been a good amount of rainfall. Everything was greening up nicely, even a few tiny flowers were blooming.
I walked over the gravely path, past the bird blinds and the bathrooms, deeper into the less cultivated part of the desert garden. About 65meters I had to bushwhack in. I stayed on the sand and followed kangaroo tracks between the brush, being careful not to disturb the fragile environment.
I came underneath the shade of some tall trees with branches spread far out, and up from the ground. It looked like the kangaroos had made their beds in the sand between the branches. Deep ruts were dugout under the shaded canopy.
I soon found the cache and headed back a little bit different of a way than I came.
On the way back to the wooden walk way, just past the bird blinds. I saw a big male kangaroo. He wasn't that far off of the trail and we eyed each other closely. I took some pictures from a safe distance, but if he wanted to, he could have been on me in no time flat.
It was just as enjoyable of a walk back as it was there. This was a nice stop along my way through and a great way to learn about the desert environment.
Thanks for the find.

It was getting quite hot, so owl took one for the team and went for a wander. No flowers or wildlife (the latter probably a good thing!) However, a cache was soon unearthed.
Mrs Gizmo escaped for a two day caching trip to Port Augusta with Dr Owl and CPwanderer.
Found by Owl after a short wander on a hot afternoon. TFTC Freddo!

We had fun with caching few weeks here in Australia ( South Australia and Northern Territory ). Lots of geocaches and many sort of them too. We saw awesome places, weather was good all the time and people were friendly and polite. Caches were pretty similar like in our home country. Of course there were some exeptions. Nice and huge country!

Team ICE on a two week geocaching trip in Australia. Our main target was the Red Centre Experience at Alice Springs but of course we did some caching in other places too. We drove from Adelaide to Alice Springs and then back. We saw lots of interesting and beutiful places like opal mines at Coober Pedy, Ayers Rock and Kata Tjuta. Our rental travelled almost 6500km on gravel and tarmac roads. The weather was great, only on last day we got some rain.
All the caches logged as Team Ice, T-ice or Tice with kapeka, laalaa and Hiltsu. We had a great trip!
Today our journey continued from Port Augusta to Coober Pedy and we visited at Woomera on the way. Interesting little town. In the morning we found some caches from Port Augusta and more caches logged on the way. next night we spent in the underground motel.

#1265 Fifth of forty finds on Day 13 of my South Australian geocaching road trip. Nice easy find after a short search. TFTC
lahierra and I are on a trip through Australia to visit this wide and varied country. Geocaching always helps us to find the most interesting places. After arriving at the caravan park, we decided to go for a walk to the Desert Garden. This was a good idea. Once in the park, two kangaroos passed nearby. After leaving the street to follow the path to the cache, a goanna crossed our way. And finally we came to the coordinates, and found a really beautiful place. lahierra checked before what a myall is, and near it I found the box.
Thanks to the owner for showing us this great place!

This cache was very mosquito friendly. I sat down to sign the log and had 10 on my legs. I told geodaughter to leave quickly and she thought I must have seen a snake.
