Logs
Looked for ages but couldn’t find. As we were leaving we read some logs that said the pile with the cords is 70 meters down the track. Very annoying
It seems that this hide is not found too often. This time it is well over a year since it was last signed.
We spend time in this part of Sydney, due to our family connections and on a previous visit had driven close to the first waypoint where we had found some relevant numbers.
Early this morning we came for a walk to GZ, found ourselves in a steep part of the bush, only to realise a fat finger had input a wrong number. into the final coordinates.
With this rectified, we made our way back to the car and restarted a walk in a rather different direction which letters on a much easier Trail straight down to GZ.
A beautiful walk, and the river looks great! Yes, there is certainly a lot of glass around GZ, so watch where you put your fingers.
A little searching and we soon found a very likely area, although it is so well hidden that we still needed to search a little more and it was the use of our torch that helped us spot what we were seeking.
Thanks Sky Dog.
Lovely to find this old multi in this beautiful pocket of bushland.

Another day, another set of caches to be searched for.
A fairly quick find, once the GPSer settled. A well hidden cache. Could have easily been overlooked if not for good coords and the hint. Thanks Sky Dog for the cache as well as the prompt maintenance.

The previous cache was muggled, so it has been replaced with a new container with fresh goodies. It's located at the same co-ords but higher up so that it's hopefully it is less likely to be muggled again.
Because this cache had 92 finds vs 4 DNFs, we hadn't bothered to read any logs beforehand. Big mistake, even reading just one log, the last one, would have alerted us to the coord problem.
Anyway, we did find the sign 70m from WP1, down the sealed road. The phone number matched the sequence of letters. Back to WP1 and along the track to the campsite. Our etrex pointed about 80m uphill. Dan scrambled through the broken cliffline and to the top which had no rockwall, no decent hiding spots, no rubbish, no campsite, and no cache.
Back home now, in front of our computer, we have now calculated new coords thanks to Brewmakers log back in 2016. We may return. Lol. All right, we'll probably return.

The CO has informed us that the cache is actually missing at the moment and will be replaced soon.
A very peaceful cache to do while keeping up with social distancing.
In preparation for this one i read back a few comments and decided to try out Brewmakers WP & GZ coords.
Once i reached the WP i made a quick find on the numbers and after working out the final coords headed off down the hill.
While some other finders had some trouble locating the track i was lucky enough to stumble on the start of it directly to the right of Brewmakers WP.
Once i reached the GZ i checked out the surroundings and went to work. This one took me over half an hour to locate as i ended up checking all the nearby hiding spots before expanding my search area then expanding it again.
In the end when i did spot where it was hiding i knew i had it immediately.
The container is in good condition and the log is dry.
Ive been to a number of these scout camp sites that have been partially reclaimed by nature. Its just a shame that so many drongos have used it too and smashed bottles all over the place.
Thanks.

After work I hit this up on the way home. I followed brewmakers coordinates for wp1 and got what I needed, I then did the solving and headed off to gz. I couldn’t make out a dusting track so I just started bush bashing until I came across the track down. Once at gz I searched and searched with no luck until I followed the advice of some past logs about branching out a bit and I found a suitable spot that housed the cache, I grabbed the coordinates for the other 2. Thankyou
OCW PelDroedGwin with the aim of tidying up some patches of The Shire.
I’d had a go at an arm charm solve in this one using likely numbers and a google search soon confirmed by idea.
Today we still visited WP1 just to be complete in our find! There is a sign further down the track that matches.
We zigzagged a little bit managed to stay, mostly, on the mountain bike trail but I’m glad I wasn’t here on two wheels !
Brewmakers coords put us in sight of the hint item but nothing there except rubbish and stashed cooking pans from the filthy campers!
I wish we had bags as there were dumped tents, burnt furniture, bongs and broken glass strewn around.....some people are disgusting!!!
An extended search soon had PDG at another area that hatched the hint and we were signing the log
A fun multi

OCW the Bebes on a lovely Anzac Day. Got the required info through logic and entered GZ. We found the bike track and followed to the bottom. After checking the rock wall where there was a lot of rubbish from inconsiderate campers we extended the search and eventually found the container. Tftc
Did this one by land using the revised brewmaker coords for both WP1 and GZ with no trouble at all. TFTC. Might finally be able to tick off the rest of this series as I have the coords now
After completing Deepwater Estate and Shackels Estate, we had the coords for this cache, so we decided to make a stop on our way back down river.
It looks like a lovely open area for camping, but it's a bit sad that people leave their trash here.
Surely it can't be nice to come back to a camp site that you've trashed.
Sandysa made a very quick find of the cache before I'd even gotten to GZ!
Thanks for the great series. We had a lot of fun out on the water today.

After collecting the coords from Shackels Estate and Deepwater Estate, we decided to add this one to our caching list of the day. It was a very quick find following the hint. TFTC
A straightforward find in a really nice location. Was surprised seeing the amount of rubbish and broken glass strewn about. I'm glad the cache was found safely tucked away. TFTC!
Found while making the area of Woronora Heights unsafe. As others already mentioned: the WP1 is down the fire trail further on, the puzzle of Brewmaker has a better set of coordinates and the mountain bike trail was found halfway the way down. For the rest it was a great discovery of a grass field I didn’t know about. What can people be swines with their bottles....
Noted the coordinates for the other two and climbed the hill back up! TFTC.

What a beautiful place. Just a shame a bunch of geese have smashed glass everywhere and couldn't even be bothered to clean up after themselves. Thanks to the cache owner for replacing. The cache is great now and stocked well. An awesome adventure to another place I haven't been to so close to home. TFTC
I replaced the old container and yucky contents with a brand new Ammo box and loads of goodies.
This was one of the first caches I placed. The old container lasted 13 years, so that can't be bad.
Unfortunately, over that time, the site has become a rough camping area for locals and they don't clean up after themselves. It's still a nice spot on the river though.

Had to drop Geoson #2 at the station so he could get to work... so I decided to keep going south for some caching goodness.
I don't usually cache down here unless going to friends' for dinner - ie leaving early. But lately I haven't had the time to do that, so I'm getting behind and new caches are piling up. Also, there are a number of multis that I just NEED to do.
So compromised - a newer cache and some multis...
Got six and abandoned one. Oh well.

Big thanks to **Brewmaker** without whose log this would have been much harder.
Got to the published coordinates and no sign of the required number on the sign. Hmmm. Decided to wander down the trail sand found another sign with a number in the right format. Put that into the formula and got a location for GZ.
At this point I checked recent logs and **Brew's** confirmed that this other sign was good, and then I rechecked the one at the top of the trail - couldn't see anything anywhere - worn, erased or just missed? But it also confirmed just how far out GZ was. Recalculated and set off from the other sign.
Soon came across the "mountain bike" trail. Followed that and was eventually close to the alternate coordinates for GZ. Hmmm, not sure too many bikes would make this in one piece - spotted a rusting one part way down!
The alternate coordinates were good and I was at the hint area with all the glass. Lots of glass.
Pretty quick find to be honest. Grabbed a worse for wear looking container. Ewwww!
Like **Noodles 22** I found the log almost unsignably wet. Just managed it and grabbed the info for the other 2 caches.
Took in the views at the creek and then time to make the replace and head back up - ended up racing the shadows of afternoon back up to the road. I won!
As it seems the CO is rarely on site anymore I won't add another "Need Maintenance" log. But can the next person to attempt this come with a 1 litre sistema, new log and ziplock bag - I would have had I read the logs in advance.
Gotta keep these older caches going.

I've been meaning to get to this cache for a while now. The last time i was here i had just found out the alternate info site and coordinates.
So while i was considering getting my kayak out soon, i should check out the coordinates for the other two along the river.
I followed a faint and overgrown trail down to the river and the search began.
I found the cache, full of black water. Whatever makeup and soap was inside as a swap had dissolved as well. I could just leave my mark on the inside cover of the almost full log book.
Will need some maintenance soon!
Thanks for the cache.

Cache was full of water and log book completely drenched.
Container not waterproof either.

First thing this morning i asked Noodles22 of i could go caching with him again. I didn't know what to expect.
The trip down was slow, and the terrain a bit too rough for me. So i sat on a rock wall and left it to Noodles22 to find.
Thanks for the cache.

For those following, please bring some sturdy shoes, as the locals use the area as a bottle smashing site. The cache needs a new container too. Still in pretty good order though. TFTC

Last of our three kayak caches today, and another beach for an easy landing. Canary had already found this one, so he stayed back and watched me, bikerbuddy and Alnic search.
The search was made more difficult here by all the smashed glass at GZ. We all wished we had better shoes on, and not our light kayak shoes. Really need to take a lot of care here to avoid a nasty accident.
Found the cache in the end, well tucked away. Container has seen better days, the lid is starting to breakup.
With our last river cache found, it was back to the beach, and our paddle back to the park.
Thanks

This was the third Sky Dog cache along this river for us. The first two caches had been fascinating spots which made me wonder about the history of the river. This cache, however, almost proved a far less enjoyable experience. I guess one of the things we don't realise we do when we're caching, is that we become focussed on the GPS and where we think the hide will be. It is possible, we found out, to completely miss potential danger. For us, the potential danger came as broken glass.
We had an easy landing on the sandy shore and we made our way to the cache location. There were some rocks which we all suspected as we approached, so I was looking at them. Alnic39 was with me and I think he didn't see the danger either, as he was next to me. We all had wet shoes on for kayaking, which don't offer the same protection as boots. I was about to take another step when Toriaz called to me urgently, stopping me from stepping on a broken bottle, with its shards pointing directly into the air. I stopped myself just as my shoe touched it. It would have made a mess of my foot and that would have been the end of our day.
We then looked about and realised how much broken glass we were standing in. It was obvious that the area is used as a camping ground and the local sport is to smash bottles against the rocks where the cache is hidden.
Toriaz found the cache, so none of us moved as she signed it for all of us, just to lessen the likelihood of an accident. A great cache and location. Unfortunate about the yobs who use it. Thanks

With the helpful log from the previous finder I was able to calculate GZ using his suggestions and the owner's using the sign just down hill from WP1.
From there it was a steep descent till I got to the previous finders GZ because of the mention of it at ground level. Once I spotted the item in the hint it was an easy find. Took the required information for a planned kayak trip!?!
TFTC.

Came by land to WP1 where there was no sign of the sign with the phone number. I had used some logic to work out all but one of the digits and a previous finder helped me finish it off. I wrote the phone number on the trail sign, so getting the numbers for **A BCC CAC CBD** shouldn't be a problem for future finders.
I found the "mountain bike" trail, but I'm glad I decided to walk rather than ride, as the path soon became a case of guessing which way to to go. I then spotted the remains of the camp hut across the creek. Once there I saw the rock wall in the hint and approached it. But the compass was pointing another 60m away! So I took a quick search from ground level and amazingly found the cache in the first place I looked. A good well hidden cache. Inside was plenty of "makeup" but decided not to take any home to the geowife! The lid is cracked a little so the container could do with a replacement, even though the contents and logged were dry.
For future reference I would use this formula to work out GZ:
**S34 CA.BDD**
**E151 CA.2A9**
A quick walk to the water showed some pleasant scenery as the sun was starting to set, so I headed back to the top. Fortunately there are a number of red and white markers on the trees so I found my way out easily. I came out to the access road at a different spot and saw a sign at **S34 01.970 E151 01.311** with the same number we are meant to see at WP1!
TFTC. A pleasant hike to the water and now I have the coords for **Deepwater Estate** and **Shackles Estate**. #634

TFTC,
This find started at least 3 years ago when I recorded the information from the sign which is no longer there. At the time, I decided not to use it and try a different approach. My idea was to get the coordinates from GCN4DA and GCN4DB. This was probably March 2015 and while I got the coordinates from Deepwater, all the signage to locate GCN4DB had gone. My day also ended with an unwanted swim.
Today was the day to put my dented pride behind me and use the information I had and find this cache and the coordinates that would take me to GCN4DB.
After a relaxed walk we approached the area which is represented in the "Breakdown" part of the cache name and have to agree that while some work has been done by someone, there needs to be a lot done to improve the state of the area. It could be an idea to hold a CITO here with Council help to remove all the glass and other rubish.
Then it was time to locate the cache and after a while it became obvious that we had a problem. It was time to check the hint and we were able to go to a location we saw earlier. GZ was about 67M from what we calculated using the information we had. After a short search Nana nel said with excitement "I have it".
Spent some time going through the log book and checking out the contents that make up the second part of the cache name. There is plenty of "Makeup" there for a desperate person or person looking to share.
Copied the coordinates to take us to GCN4DB and replaced the cache for the next finder. The plastic is starting to brake down (understandable given it has been in place for 12 years) and could use some TLC from the CO. A 1L Sestima container will fit into the area. Visited trackables.
I thought about using a texta to put the phone number on the post comming out but upon arriving at the car I couldn't find one. Maybe another time. Time to go home for lunch.

After breakfast with friends, Wazza9 said off we go to find this long awaited cache, packed some lunch arrived the suggested parking, off down, down and down then found a waterway, how to cross that, but that was not a problem. Arrived in the area that was a mess (reminds me of CITO in France recently picking up broken glass). GZ was some way off, but soon located the container we had come for. Checked out the contents, I didn't need anything, especially seeing the soap had been there since 2004. Signed the log after reading the log book and replaced. Thanks to Sky Dog
Our first geocache. Beautiful spot, water was awesome. Want to come back and camp here
Came down fishing with my son and he said could we look for it. I said we haven't found way point 1 which is around the corner from where we live. I then said but if I was going to hide it I would hide it over there, so we went and had a look and came up with the cache. Took nothing just signed the log. TFTC Skydog.
Got the first set of co-ordinates from Deepwater Estate but a big fat DNF on Shackel's Estate.
Managed to find it fairly easily using the hint and N/S coords only

2nd time lucky for this one. Unfortunately I found out the hard way this is not a very geodog friendly location. Both times visiting this GZ a dog has had a paw cut open by the large amount of broken glass around. Would've liked to CITO but as we were carrying the dog we had no hand to take trash. Next time I will not take the dog but a rubbish bag instead.
Apart from the glass what a magical spot to relax in the sun.

Looks like the sign referred to in the description at WP1 has gone. CO may need to revise the clue to find this cache!
Found with theobayman/goat. I used to camp here when the scout hall was still there. The empty bottles & broken glass are a disturbing site. Watch your feet! I will post a pic of how lovely the river is, not of the horrid mess in the clearing. The umm .... creatures who created the mess thankfully have not disturbed the cache. Thanks for the memories Sky Dog.
I can now add billy goat as one of the names I am called by, had a great day working on the series of caches on the wonnie. Thought I was at a recycling depot with all the glass left at this site, maybe the council could make a special trip to clean this great place up. TFTC
Last cache of our big water adventure day. After all the long paddles, bush walking and getting wet in the creek this one seemed so...tamed Shame the nearby camping site has become a rubbish dump.
All in all awesome fun has been had by all of us and now time to paddle all the way back! Ouch...people don't exercise their arms enough these days Thanks for all the efforts putting into this amazing series. I hope more people get to experience it in the future.

After collecting the vital pieces of information from the other two caches on the way up, I came by GZ on the way back with Steeba and Hoojar. We arrived at GZ with plenty of places to search, and just as we were about to head a little further up to look, another caching team strolled up and promptly found the cache in the first place they looked. Another top multi which we have loads of fun completely.

After having found the other 2 Sky Dog Multis, we had the information needed for this one. As this was back down the river, we left it till last. Had one now sick kid on board and only made a quick stop. A group was there and the log was signed. Thanx for the series caches Sky Dog. Much more fun getting caches with a little adventure thrown in, TFTC.

Last of the Sky Dog caches as Steptoe, Zhaoy and I formed the rearguard for the flotilla. Having gathered the clues aquatically on the way up, this was fetched on the way down. GZ looked awesome and with a little cleanup would be a top camping site. Mrs Toe was the one to lay hands on the box first after the rest of us were too far up the hill. I do always wonder why people who obviously like using the area trash it? The 3 or 4 burnt tyres in the fire pit were particularly worrying
Cheers for all the Fun Sky Dog, Zhao and I had a great time... even if 2 days later we are cursing your name with super sore muscles that hadnt been used in years

Having found the two previous caches on the way upstream, MV, Steeba and I were able to stop at this cache on the way back down stream. We were looking around for the cache when another team turned up and found the cache in the first place that they looked.

The final cache on the list. On the return back and getting a little tired by now, this stop was a welcome short break. L0ckSmith made a quick find.

The last one of the series, yippee . I'm starving... We have enjoy the caches along the river very much. Now BBQ awaits. TFTC
A very nice spot for a stop after getting the two parts of the co-ords from the other two caches. Yes, you certainly wonder why people can carry all their food and drink in here but can't manage to take it back out.
The beach here is a good spot to pull in and we waited for a few of the other canoes after finding the cache all in good order. It was very pleasant sitting on the sand and watching the tide as it strated to flow out. I reckon I could see the waterline in the sand going down as we sat there.
This could be a great "Clean Up Australia Day" project, we'd get to enjoy the paddle up the river and could probably arrange a tinny or something to carry all the rubbish back too.
The scouts must have been really upset that their lovely retreat was destroyed.

I teamed up with Cattledog-81 and club bindi during the WRECK event at Woronora. After doing Deepwater Estate and Shackels Estate we had the final coordinates to find this cache. It is a shame that people can party and spoil an area by leaving all their rubbish around. After we found the cache I dropped off a geo-coin, thanks Sky Dog we really enjoyed your caches today, bringing us to this beautiful part of the Woronora River and added to the cache descriptions the areas interesting past .
We missed this on on the way upstream with the event but were sure to grab it on the way back. Talk about an impressive little campsite/ place to hang out! TFTC!

What a great day. Thanks must go to Steptoe for getting us out of our beds on a day that initially had to be on the bottom end of the 1 to 10 scale and Sky Dog for giving us a reason to be here plus a bit of an insight into the history of the area. Loved it.
This was a second home for someone, all the comforts but they obviously don't have the money for a maid to clean up their mess. Found during the WRECK event with mrryanmurry.
Personally I thought this one was the hardest from all the multi's around here. Not physically, but getting jhe right coords proved to be more tricky then anticipated! The final GZ however wasn't to hard.

Teamed up with "pipes down under" and a good day was had finding these multis & traditionals along the woronora river. There certainly were some laughs to be had as everyone tried to decipher the required info for the multis whilst the traditionals weren`t so bad. A great day caching the wonny.
With the co-ords in hand after grabbing them from a couple of earlier multis this was a relatively quick find but that campsite nearby GZ, what a mess, wish people were more tidy & considerate of others, this would have been a great spot without all the rubbish here, our last find of the day so back to the kayak for the last bit of the return journey.

Travelled to this one with CATONY on the WRECK event. Surprised to see such an established 'lean to' but also very dissappointed with the mess that some had left behind.
It was fun getting the coordintes from the other multies for this last one on the WRECK event.

Found as part of attending the W R E C K event which was great event with a huge turn out even more so being winter. The few spots of rain and clouds soon disappeared for great paddling weather up to The Needles. The caches up and down the river provide good breaks from paddling. We soon got the hang of the multis and which ones had co-ords for the other ones. Thanks to Sky Dog for maintaining the caches before the event. It was certainly beneficial to cache as a group as more eyes the better although we did overload some of the landing spots and almost needed Harbour Patrol to direct traffic but it was all good fun.
Deep Water Estate was first. We all managed to miss the numbers at first however those arriving in the second wave soon helped us out.
Next was Shackles Estate and while the numbers have seen better days we still managed to read them. The question was then which stairs to take and with cachers at multiple landings most of the stairs plus the recently cleared track was used. With so many eyes and hands the cache was quickly found and Breakdown and Makeup was soon worked out.
We continued up to Salinity Now! as we where told it was easier to land there and walk down to the Ruined Castles. On the paddle up we saw lots of good sized fish and bird life including a Kingfisher close up. Thanks to the CO for waiting to ensure a safe landing and a cache find. With the signing duties complete a group of us moved up to the Ruined Castles. Lots of other walls here for plenty of hiding spots. Again the advantage of many eyes and hands paid off with a quick find.
Up The Creek was next. We walked up the good trail up to an intersection to The Needles while some of the others paddled up to The Needles. We initial followed the good track up the hill as that's where the GPSrs were pointing. As we got higher we had a recheck and decided this track was not going to get us down to the river in this direction so we back tracked and cut down to the lower track which got muddier and more over grown as we went until we had to retreat up higher. Once near GZ we realised the river had to be cross but there was no avoid shoes or feet getting wet to get to the other side. After the log signing it was a return to the canoes. (The walk was probably one of the harder parts of the day).
Back on the water if was off to complete Breakdown and Makeup. We spied a nice landing spot and made our way the short distance to GZ where we found the cache after a short search and picked up a geocoin. With the signing complete we teamed up with a few others to complete 40/400. Up the slippery slope we went only to find we needed to be patient with the GPSr as it periodically froze with the poor reception. We had a bit of an extended search and after a few slip and slide came up with the cache from its neatly hidden hidy hole. With the signing complete and the cache re hidden it was a faster trip down the hill (not always on foot)
Once back at the W R E C K start and waiting for a few paddlers to come in we ducked off to quickly complete the nearby Muddy's First cache where we collected a Travel Bug. We also took the opportunity to find talk to a few others for other good near by cache suggestions. TFTC's

Having missed this on the paddle upstream, the Neighbs and I were glad to have a chance to pull over and have a rest from paddling to look for this final cache of the day. It was located very quickly and I was tempted to take a seat on the sofa and rest my weary bones whilst signing the log. Decided against that in the end as others were waiting to sign after me. Thanks for the series Skydog. It was great to be able to finally find this series!
This was find #7 on our Woronora River Expedition to Canoe and Kache, making it the final cache attempted.
While Zalgar & I were in the wrong spot, jacala_rob made the find for us.
A large campsite has grown here, complete with dodgy shelter and a couple of old lounges, but at least noone was around. Pile of rubbish lay around unburned, while the fireplace had been used to burn complete car tyres - some people dont appear to have any "logic".
Anyway, a great series of caches, thanks sky_dog.

I thought I might be able to gather the info I required for GZ from the sign at WP1 this morning- now I didn't get out of the car but the obvious sign you could see from the road has been trashed and no numbers remain...
Another final of a quality cache series along the Woronora River. I have done the series in two steps: Two weeks ago, knowing that there are big rocks under the water, walking down from Barden Ridge to do the two upstream caches. Had much pleasure and a good time out that day. And today, by boat, the remaining three. A beautiful series I recommend to anybody. Certainly, by boat is best if you want to do the series in one go, and a paddle probably safe at low tide. Upon clear water, not as now after all that rain, you'll be able to navigate by a motor boat - we've done so before with our rubber duck. Today, we came with the Arkaroooo, our latest acquisition. She did well today and I got more confidence - also stopping and restarting the motor. We had a bit of caching adventure on the two downstream estates. Landed the Arkaroooo on the sand beach while the tide was descending. As usual, KoolKath and RockSandra guarded the boat while I was seeking into the bush. This sunny place seems heavily frequented by teenies or so - there was kinda campsite with a big fireplace, kitchen corner, roof, chairs and lots of rubbish around. Found GZ easily, as per the hint, however, the approach was a real last challenge: Grass and rocks basically paved by broken glass. The youngsters must drink at the fire and then just send the bottles per ballistic flight into this direction. Hundreds of broken bottles all over the area. It reminds me that we are well in Australia! So where was the stash - left, right, up, down? Each approach was a search for safe walking - you really don't wanna make a mistake! Took five or ten mins, then a hot spot was discovered and quickly approached, the cache in my hands. TFTC, mate! Back to the boat, we took some cakes out and celebrated the Woronora River Series - well done, Sky Dog!

Second attempt at this tricky multi. We gathered the numbers, decoded them and punched them into the GPS. Then we headed down the steep hill for ages until we came to the campsite. By the looks of things a few campers (or hobos) had just left as the fire was just smuldering and the place was in a horrible state. as we started to venture towards GZ we noticed a rock wall that was at ground level. To our surprise we found the cache half exposed. Looking down at the GPS it was telling us to head another 60meters to the wall away from where we found the cache. Be careful as there were thousands of broken glass bottles around GZ. TFTC.
Did all the possible preparation for this one, only to find WP1 again, transformed the numbers to get GZ and ended up in the same spot as last time. search the area within 10 meters of GZ for half an hour. Than looked at the hint?? That didn't make sence as this feature wasn't within 15 meters of GZ and than there was a lot of ot on different levels. Searched another half hour but thats it for me, last attempt on this one.
The sign at the original WP1 has been vandalised beyond recognition, so I moved it way closer to GZ. WP2 was very close to to new WP1, so I have eliminated it.

Kind of a girlie bag of tricks here! Apart from the broken glass surrounding the cache this was an OK find.
On a day out caching with Usat31 and this one wasn't one we'd planned on doing. However, we ended very close to WP1 whilst doing another cache so got distracted! We didn't have a boat with us so went for the bush-bashing option, which turned out to be a very enjoyable walk and a good workout too! Took a while to locate the cache for some reason, and we then headed down to the water's edge to admire the views and tranquility. This would be a great place to camp.

Didn’t have a boat with us today, so we did this one using the road option. Was concerned at WP1 that the tool with the spray can may have covered up the vital information, but luckily for us we were able to read the vital information. WP2 had us stumped for a while – how many times did we have to read that sign to see the number??? A lot!!! D’oh. Anyway, we got there in the end.
Of course, when there is an option to bush bash it or walk a formed trail, Mr H & Mr Us will generally take the bush-bash option, which is exactly what we did today. A quick scramble down the hill saw us at GZ pretty quickly, and after a bit of a prolonged search the loot was ours!
Retrieved the info for the other couple of caches held within & quickly did the duties before replacing the cache, then headed down to the river to admire the area. Great spot down here & a nice little camping area too.
Typically another top quality cache Sky Dog & yet another very interesting area I may not have visited if it weren’t for cache. Thanks!
Cheers.

A nice day for a bush bash. Found WP1 luckily the graffiti doesn't cover the vital numbers. WP2 had me at a letterbox with a number. Off to GZ only to find it on the opposite bank. Great spot close to home. Will be heading back sometime for a spot of camping with the boat I think.
Haven't done many multi's but this was a nice easy one with not to far to travel, GZ took us to a nice spot that i have probably passed many times in a boat but never knew it was there
The final cache as part of our paddling adventure. A pity that the area is littered with glass, and a nearby bull ant nest. However, the cache was spotted very quickly.
We were amused by the contents and discussed whether Geotalk should have a 'Ladies only' episode. No one was willing to nominate themself as the host. Hmmm. Off we paddled back down the river.

We’d left this one for the return trip in order to break up the long paddle and stretch the legs. Quite a nice open clearing here and still the odd bull ant or three patrolling the area. The earlier shower had long gone and the day had reverted to being cloudy and mild. Whilst blazing sunshine may have been nice at least we weren’t getting fried and it was certainly still warm enough to be on the water. We made no swaps here.
This was the last of the Sky Dog river series. It was a great day and made for a refreshing way to cache – especially as we had a terrific group of cachers with whom to share the day. We thoroughly enjoyed both the caching and the company. Highly recommended.

Fifth cache find on our canoe trip up the river with Tronador, Alpini, Spindoc Bob and Altaire. We stopped for this one on the way back from the Needles having collected the required info on the way there. Nice to stretch the legs after a bit of paddling. Spindoc Bob spotted the hiding spot for this one from 60m away as we walked across the clearing so an easy find. Thanks for the cache.

After retrieving the required co-ords from the two other treasure stashes, our trio of crusty river pirates turned the SS Oyster Cruncher back up the river to plunder one last river treasure chest.
We pulled in at the beach which was exposed and made for a nice spot to tie the boat up.
We paced out from the beach the required number of paces, avoided the plague of monstrous killer bull ants that have taken up residence right near the cache. Jumpy buggers they were, did not like us investigating the area at all.
We logged the cache and the once again weighed anchor (About 4kg) and made our way once again down the river for the final time.
What an enjoyable way to cache, even the pair of imports from interstate agreed, it don't get much better than this.

After retrieving the coords from Deepwater and Shackles caches, we paddled to this location. The old camp looks like a really good spot to come camping sometime with the kids. The cache location was guarded by ferocious bush ants, the big red ones with the yellow fangs. One managed to get onto my shoulder, I didn't find it until our snack break about 10 minutes later (yes, somewhat excited to find it there!). Thankfully Jonathan rescued me and knocked the beast off. Unharmed it scurried back up the beach to await the arrival of the next geocachers.
