This was the resupply for the three walkers, while there we collected this one after a quick walk up the hill. Nice to see an almost blank log tftc

08-Apr-23
I found this cache on what was to become the last day of our Great Ocean Walk. Today the weather decided to take a turn and blast us with 45km/h winds, making the beach trek almost unbearable. It was good to have a short stop near the lookout and then make our way to the GOW campsite and collect his cache.

I love finding these older caches; the size is one of the best you can get. Thanks for placing this one here, and to the community for keeping it going. It's amazing how these things can stay in the wild for 20+ years.

08-Apr-23
The end of Day 5 of our Great Ocean walk. The weather has taken a turn and it is quite nasty now with whipping winds and drizzle. Thankfully our support crew arrived with hot chocolate and resupplies for the next leg - they also had some fresh eyes for finding and managed to get the job done. A very scenic spot here for the cache to reside and well worth a visit from caching tourists - without having to make the hard trek.

I found this cache as I slowly made my way from Adelaide through southern Victoria towards the Mega event at Rutherglen, picking up a few caches of interest along the way.

Cache and contents are in good condition.

Thanks Pyrenees Kid for the cache.

Seems the future, for this one will be uncertain.

### **OWNER MAINTENANCE REQUIRED PLEASE** ###

----------

Hi there Pyrenees Kid,

It looks like this cache might need some attention, as one or more seekers have indicated there is an issue. The cache has been temporarily disabled, so as to remove it from search listings and discourage people from visiting this location until the issues/s with this cache can be addressed.

**You do need to respond in some way within 14 days, so others know you are on top of it, as well as indicating exactly what is happening with this placement - please don't let a lack of communication scuttle this listing.**

#What should you do now:-#
You have a number of choices so pick the one that applies from this handy list:-

- **Check On The Cache:-** Visit the cache and repair and/or replace or do whatever else is needed, post an [**Owner Maintenance log**](http://support.groundspeak.com/index.php?pg=kb.page&id=404) indicating the cache has been checked and [**ENABLE your cache**](https://support.groundspeak.com/index.php?pg=kb.page&id=235 ). Then sit back and wait for the logs of praise to roll in.

- **Place A Write Note Log::-** Reviewers don't have a crystal ball, so without your note on the cache page explaining that the site works are on-going, or you have been in hospital, or the area is in flood, they can't tell what is going on with the cache.
So please just post a note to the page (within 14 days) and when a Reviewer next looks at the listing, all will be fine for a little bit longer.
**Be sure to indicate the actual date that you expect to have it fixed so that everyone knows you are on top of it. If you have a long term unavailable cache (where you don't have an actual date) please ensure you visit the page and post a note every 4 to 6 weeks, so as to keep everyone up to speed.**

- **Adopt/Archive:-** If you don't plan on fixing it then you could consider passing it on to another geocacher by asking them to [**Adopt it**](https://www.geocaching.com/help/index.php?pg=kb.chapter&id=38&pgid=54) or alternatively, you need to [**Archive it**](https://www.geocaching.com/help/index.php?pg=kb.chapter&id=38&pgid=56), so it is removed from searches and someone else can have the spot. Don't forget to remove any remnants of your previously enjoyed cache too.

You might wonder what happens if you don't pick one of those. Well, if nothing happens, then a few weeks from today, when a Reviewer next looks at the cache page, it is likely that they will, unfortunately, have to de-list (Archive) on the basis that it has been abandoned.

Honestly, I'd rather you decide so please do something before then. Please don't send me an email but instead follow the information/advice posted above.

**JUST A TIP:-** Have you checked out the new Geocaching Dash Board designed to assist a Cache Owner in managing the caches they own? Have a read about it [**HERE.**](https://www.geocaching.com/blog/2020/07/welcome-to-the-cache-owner-dashboard/?newsletter=PM) You will find your very own dash board [**HERE**](https://www.geocaching.com/play/owner?utm_source=geocaching&utm_medium=blog&utm_campaign=COD).

Thanks for your cooperation,

Bunjil

Easy find but the container was half full of water and the contents disgusting, preventing signing so photo attached.
This has been logged for more than two years now so surely it needs to be attended to by either the owner or moderator.

The swell today meant that the sea looked somewhat angry at Johanna Beach today. The signs suggesting it was unsafe to swim there seemed somewhat superfluous. We were checking the area out to see whether it would be a good place to camp (side note, it would be an awesome spot to camp) and while here checked the map, and lo and behold; there was a cache to be found. We made our way to GZ and made a quick find. Unfortunately, the cache container was almost full of water. We drained the cache and did our best to dry the contents before attempting to sign the log. Lucky we had a gel pen. Thank you for this cache Pyrenees Kid & Mikita and for lumpyJRB for being the cache guardian. This is a great spot.

A new day for Mrs. iowaPete and I means a whole new set of geocaches to chase and vistas to view. This one did not disappoint on either category! Enjoyed the stop and hike to the viewing area. Snapped several photos before going after the quick find on the cache. The coordinates were excellent! We've been using the phones to go most of the gps guidance and even using the off-line data, we've been having remarkable success along the way.

Cache container is in great shape. Added an iowaPete signature golf tee and a chance cube to the swaps, signed in on the log and reset the cache for the next finder to enjoy.

What a view! Photo attached...

08-Jan-20
We are now home from our family holiday adventure so I’ve taken a minute to reflect on some memorable moments.

The city of Auckland, New Zealand saw our first cache just a few seconds after getting off the plane at the airport, and then later amidst the fish market and Sky Tower. We cached our way through Rotorua's geysers and bubbling springs while touring with a cousin who lives nearby and joined us for the day. Then to Napier where the caches were stashed amid all of the Art Deco buildings and antique cars. In Wellington, we encountered a breathless Josh caching all the way up to Mt. Wellington. At our next port Akaroa we found caches in Rolleston, Arthur’s Pass (by train!) and at the lighthouse at the port. We then set sail through Milford Sound and onward to Australia.

In Hobart, we found Josh and Lee in the park by the port and searched in vain for a caching event, but could not find them in the New Year's Eve crowds. At Port Arthur there were caches in the gardens next to the remains of the Penal Colony and along Pirates Bay where we saw Remarkable Cave, Devil's Kitchen and the Tasman Arch. When we arrived in Burnie we walked to caches in and around the small town of 22,000 and we followed a path along the seaside to a man made waterfall and extraordinary rock formation in a park. We cached and toured at the iconic Sydney Opera House, walked the Royal Botanic Gardens, and sat in a chair that was hewn in stone. We made our way to Lane Cove and posed for a selfie
under giant gum trees, seventeen of which are squiggly! In the iron oxidized soil of Uluru we found caches among the rocks and paths, including a miniature version of the inselberg itself. Then we flew to Melbourne where our first cache was a puzzling one in an alley next to Flinders Street Station. We visited Hosier Lane's Street art while on our way to another. We drove to the Great Ocean Road and cached at a really cool place Crowes Buffer Stop, which is the site of an abandoned rail stop complete with flat bed car, tracks and sign. We finished our trip in The Grampians where in Halls Gap we found our last cache along with cockatoos and roos in a rock climb just above an incredible view of the valley below.

It was a fantastic month of adventure and family – my husband Miles (harmony9), my daughter Carey (forestmanjoo), and my son-in-law Josh (foomanjoo), as well as a new friend that we met aboard our same cruiseship, Lee (Cache_Lee). We saw some amazing sights and met some wonderful people.

Thank you for placing this geocache, an important part of our memories of this adventure!

Fast and fun find with SOB55 and harmony9 during a beautiful day adventuring along the Great Ocean Road. We stopped here because this beach shares the same name as my sister! I left a couple of travel bugs to further their journeys. We dried out the log bag and aired out the logbook as best we could before replacing the cache. Thanks for bringing us here, Pyrenees Kid & Mikita (Cache Guardian = BFMC )!

Firstly I want to thank BFMC for keeping the cache alife Smile Sadly the container is already filled up with 2cm of water - the logbook was still dry and i took care to seal the bag as well as possible.

I was already searching about 5minutes and felt i was quite close when 2 muggels arrived and i had to take a break. After they've left I quickly grabbed the cache. Greetings from Switzerland

Coordinates changed to:

Updating coordinates - cache location moved because of erosion.

19-Jan-19
Beautiful day for a rescue mission. Having had discussions with the reviewer prior to visiting the container was recovered - Current location no longer viable due to erosion (had to use a 3m piece of driftwood to reach the container). Contents were wet/sandy/destroyed. Cleaned and dried container, replaced logbook, bag and swaps and have moved to a safer, more viable location a short distance away. Awaiting reply from CO and/or reviewer before proceeding further.

18-Jan-19
Have reached out to CO via a proxy and also touched base with the reviewer. Happy to adopt if we can make it happen or act as guardian otherwise. Planning to head down on 19/1 to have a check this one out.

08-Jan-19
Just read the reviewers note on this cache. We will go out and check it out in the next week and see if we can’t keep it going.

23-Nov-18
From recent logs it would seem as though there are issues with this cache but at the moment a Needs Archive would seem inappropriate - perhaps a Needs Maintenance?

The cache owners are no longer active, so if this cache is to remain the issues will need to be addressed. Alternatively, if a local geocacher is prepared to take it under their wing it could become a community cache.

Lets see what happens.

A very eager student on ECO5 went the long way around to collect the cache.

The cache appears to be out of reach and on an unstable sand bank. I don’t often do this but think
maybe this one needs to be archived for safety reasons.
