As there's been no cache to find for months, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us, and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.

I think it's time to let this one go and free up the spot for others.

3 DNF's in a row is not a good sign. Cache offline pending further investigation. Will check as soon as possible.

Tried for an hour to locate this one without any luck. Used the clues to try and narrow the search but to no avail.

This one may need to be checked to see if it is still active, still it was a great climb and a wonderful view of the southern end of this mountain range

Sad Been wanting to visit this one for a while. Unfortunately after about 50min of searching it still eluded us. Don't think its been muggled, just overgrown.[?] Magnificient views from the summit as this end of the Grampians escaped the fury of last summer's fires. I will return and I will find it!!Big Grin

DNF at 5.30pm. !@#$$s@@o%^a%4876b@%^!! (there's a hidden acronym in there if anyone wants to decipher!)
We headed off on probably the most perfect day to do this cache. It was crystal clear, no wind and around 20c. Got to the top in 1.5hrs and then started looking. We looked for around 20 min with no luck then rang a couple of friends for assistance as we didn't bring the PDA with us - boy we rely on that gizmo now. Spent another 40 minutes searching with no success. Got to the stage where we had to pull the plug as we were meeting friends for dinner at the Royal Mail Hotel at 7.00pm. We would be very surprised if the cache has been muggled in that isolated spot, but it would surely make us feel a whole lot better if it was! The views from the summit as well during the approach are absolutely stunning and we have some fantastic photos as mementos.
The trip back took us just under 1hr as we were really in a hurry. Thanks Beakers - we may never come back to this impressive mount again, but we loved the experience

Really enjoyed the trek.

Allow a good 3 hours for the return trip - being a novice Geocacher I assumed the '3 kms return' meant a round trip. Actually 6.5 kms according to the 'Southern Walks' map and quite steep terrain at times.

Up and down is only about 2½ hours however photo breaks, nature breaks (incredible wildlife) and puffing breaks (I'm an unfit 62y.o.) as well as finding and logging the cache can easily add another half hour.

Sitting on the summit was like sitting on top of the world. The view was breathtaking. Certailnly worth the climb.

Found at 1425 Saturday 9th October. Left whistle/keyring, took Owl.
