We came by yesterday. With the current number of DNFs, including a recent past-finder, this cache needs checking +/- reviewer input....

13-Sep-22
Searched around GZ. A number of suitable hides around but none with cache.

19-Feb-22
A previous finder has reported that the cache is no longer there. It sounds like this cache needs a check by the CO and/or maintenance as needed.

30-Dec-21
Reasonably confident I was in the right spot, and agree with ‘Crazy Cats’ - I don’t think it’s there anymore.

18-Jul-21
Happened to pass by this one today. Cache wasn’t there at all. Just letting you know.

Easy and kid friendly. Byo pen Smile

I found lots of caches on a roadtrip holiday up to Byron Bay. Over the course of the week, I targeted a variety of caches that worked towards different statistic-based goals. Thanks to all the Cache Owners for their contributions to this fantastic recreational activity.

A short walk with great views. Nice easy find with decent coordinates.
Thanks!

27-Jun-20
I was out along the track from Alston Drive and, after completing The Hermit, headed along to this one where I made a quick find. The bucket is starting to become brittle and the contents are a little damp but not too bad at the moment.

Many thanks for this scenic hide.

Few caches around Berowra Water for this sunny day.
At GZ quick found for this huge cache. Sorry our pen doesn't work. We took a photo.

Getting pretty mouldy but beautiful spot!

22-Mar-20
Kids enjoyed finding this one on our "isolation" bushwalk.

22-Mar-20
Dependent on the iPhone's location arrow matching the site on the map. The description fit and we searched and we searched and then found it. Excited to think that this geocache has been there since 2004. Left a little something for a child that finds it next.
Our first Geocache found and the Geocaching adventure begins...

One of my favourite walks to do and a good reward of a huge cache! TFTC

Found this absolutely huge cache today before heading back to Adelaide. Due to technical difficulties it took a while to locate, but once I sorted that it was a satisfying find. TFTC!

In the area today walking with my bushwalking club. Got to this gz and made a quick find of a lovely large cache. Went and checked out the view afterwards tftc

A very large geocache! The kids were thrilled! Spectacular spot. Awesome first bushwalk for kids if you are wondering whether to do this. Photo taken on the way to the cache.

Lovely walk. Stunning views. TFTC. Forgot a damn pen of course.

03-Jan-19
After parking at the COs suggested location i headed into the bush.
I initially took the wrong track from the road and had to circle around to get on the correct path.
The views off to the left as i was walking to the GZ were spectacular. Looking out over the river at houses and boats mored below. The cache was well named.
I found the cache pretty fast at the GZ and was surprised that one of this type had lasted so long without being muggled.
I ended up tipping some standing water out if the cache but the log was dry.
Thanks.

Found this after I had some trouble with the Hermit of Berowra. A really great spot. The camo was in good order, and the container was quite dry even after the big rains of last night. A great spot. Went back to the Hermit and things on that front improved. TFTC.

22-Sep-18
Found this after clambering up the very steep track from Berowra Waters. Amazing area. I love the size of the cache. TFTC

15-Jul-18
Found it! Our 3rd for the day! Can’t believe the treasures inside!

15-Apr-18
I came and found this one today because of its size being large. My target is 50 large cache finds this will make 40. It was a nice walk along the GNW and a short search before the find. The cache is still in good condition despite it age. Thanks Two Much Trouble for the placement Cheers

30-Mar-18
The fourth find of the day. Out of Sydney now and making some good progress towards Morisset. This one was a key stopover however, as Loci612 needed it for a challenge cache. So a little side trip was planned out to this one. It is a beautiful walk out to the GZ of this cache, especially today with such perfect weather. At GZ, the cache was located very quickly. Log signed and cache replaced. TFTC Two Much Trouble!

30-Mar-18
This cache is much more special than it might look like on first glance!
It was one of the only caches that I could use to help with a challenge in London as it is a Large cache that is specifically hidden in 2004!

I noticed this cache a few weeks back and realised how close it was to where I would be travelling for the Oz Geomuster mega!

So we detoured off the highway to come and find this cache and we were certainly not disappointed!

The walk was just amazing and the views down to the boats was gorgeous! Did not expect this!

After sorting out the waypoint for the nearby multi we headed off to this cache which was the main goal.
We found the large cache and it was certainly large! A big and old cache is always appreciated, especially one with views

Thanks for this cache Two Much Trouble!

18-Nov-17
This was a nice quick and easy find, after completing "Not Another Berowra Cache". The pen in the cache is no longer working. TFTC

02-Oct-17
Our primary mission today was to visit the old hotel ruins at Calabash Point, and to find the cache that's placed there, going via the car ferry at Berowra Waters. Also on our cache list was an EarthCache, a Mystery cache, and a few Traditionals located along the route. This was the 6th of 6 finds for the day.

This was to be our last cache for the day, parking the geomobile at the end of Alston Drive, then following the bush track all the way to GZ. The bush all the way from Alston Drive is looking very black, from what looks to be a recent Hazard Reduction burnoff, and we were worried that the cache may be "toast".

But despite a very black GZ the cache was quickly found safe & sound in it's rocky hide. TNLNSL, and then replaced as found. It's a nice big cache container, but the contents & log are a bit damp and mouldy and it could do with a good cleanout. TFTC Two Much Trouble.

Quick check on the way through. Survived the HR intact.

04-Sep-17
HR planned in area in coming weeks. Added some extra protection around the bucket. Hope it's enough.

16-Jul-17
Found it! Amazing views. TFTC

30-Nov-16
Found with TOMBI!, doing some of the more challenging caches near the Berowra area, quickest to get to from Newcastle. Beutifull views from the top of the cliff areas. Nice easy walk to the cache. TFTC

30-Nov-16
Found with BillHill531 on a day trip down south. This was an old cache on my short list due to it being a fairly rare placed month. We were going to access it from the other side, but after driving down the crazy narrow road to the ferry, we decided not to climb the ridiculous hill. We drove back wand followed the multi waypoints in, even getting the info on the way here. It turned out to be a pretty easy walk and a nice sized container. A little wet and gross down the bottom, but a poncho(?) keeps the log separate and dry. This would be our fifth one kilometer return walk for today.
Thanks for the easy walk, fun climb, new placed month and the cache!

13-Nov-16
In my opinion, one of the best kind of cahces: hard to get to, easy to find. That's your classic regular or large in the middle of the bush. We set down the little side track which is hard to see at first but clearer once you follow the track on the map (not google). Cache is basically just full of moldy, damp items but the logbook has miraculously survived. The poncho didn't seem to be doing it much good actually - the ziplock bag really has helped so could the next finder please bring a fresh one. This one needs replacing but is a beautiful spot. Tftc

14-May-16
Nice cache in a very nice place but the content is very damaged by humidity

13-Mar-16
My goodness- how I cocked this up last time!

A virtual stroll compared to the vertical ascent last time when I wasn't quite sure what I was about.

A lot of damp crap inside but someone has wrapped the log in a plastic poncho so it s stil signable. Ta for this enduring cache as nice to visit an oldy.

I'd never been on this track and detoured here from a nearby multi. Amazing views on the way here. As previous logs indicate, contents are damp and most probably need to be retired. TFTC

11-Oct-15
The largest cache we have found so far. Contents are damp. Ensured log book is wrapped well. TFTC.

03-Sep-15
Took a school group to find this one. Thanks so much

29-Aug-15
On a Duke of Edinburgh expedition with LoweBro and 11 students from Bethany College, we realised this cache was only 500 metres from our campsite. We headed off into the bush and once in GZ we soon had CIH. No pen on us and the ones inside all wet, so back to camp and returned with some of the students to introduce them to some geocaching. The first one to spot it got to sign log as well. Swapped a silver heart trinket for the KFC Sponge Bob ball. Very wet inside so we emptied it out. TFTC. Lovely views from here. This is one that was not expected. #77 for Brewmaker.

29-Aug-15
Very wet and damp inside container. Drained out most of the water, but still needs a good drying out as most of the contents are getting ruined. Was in a hurry to leave camp so couldn't hang around to do it ourselves. Still a good sized bucket Too Much Trouble. It certainly wasn't too much trouble for us! Brewmaker.

26-Jul-15
A short detour while completing the nearby multi. Amazing views on the way.

TFTC.

Had to grab this as I couldn't leave without the find between multi's. Such a large container seen and thanks for the smiley.

15/1/15. 12:27 PM. Cache #2177. Streak day #207. I came up to the area for asbestiform's newish multi, "Hermit of Berowra" but when I had calculated its GZ at its first WP, it made sense to come over to this one first. At GZ, I stood on one rock and looked around at all of the options around me. I stepped down, looked around, and there it was. Hmm, I would have called this a large? I enjoyed reading all of the logs from the past 11 years - gee this logbook is in good nick! I then walked back the way I had come, to finish "Hermit of Berowra". TFTC }:)

19-Dec-14
Should have read the logs instead of heading up the GNW from the river.
Needed that exercise but didn't look like getting near once at the top

Make that 4 Northern Beaches geocachers in a row.
We picked this one up while on the way into pay the Oracle a visit. A quick find was made, SL and headed off. TFTC.

The last stop in a morning's bushwalking around Berowra. I loved the walk in from Alston Place and the views over Berowra Creek. There were lots of big bush flies buzzing into my hat as I walked in.

I liked the big container. I also liked that the most recent finders, in May 2014, were my friends and neighbours, the zargfinders.

An added bonus was that the trail continued down to Berowra Waters, where I had parked my car earlier in the morning.

Thanks Two Much Trouble. The cache is in good shape. Found at 11:46 am.

11-May-14
Headed out to this cache on a nice sunny Sunday afternoon.

A short walk in, we saw the view. The cache was still further.

At GZ, I made a quick find. A nice large container, I wish more caches could be this big!

A great, typical 'old-style' geocache adventure.

Thanks Two Much Trouble - you didn't cause any at all!

21-Apr-14
What a great hike and awesome views. After living three years here, we never went up that way. Left a TB and a cool Lego salt cellar there. The fitting Lego pepper pot will be placed in a nearby cache very soon Smile TFTC

A wonderful afternoon's caching in Berowra and surrounds whilst geoson was at a party. I ended up with a new DT combo, a new month for the JASMER challenge, and managed to find quite a few solved puzzles in a variety of creative containers.

Cache #3 of 8. This was the one for the JASMER challenge, my first for November 2004. As with most caches of this vintage, it was in great surroundings. When I first saw the boats below, I figured the cache would be near but the GPSr said 200m to go. When I found the sizeable container I realised it would be difficult to find a spot to fit it!

It was quite warm this morning so I did my research and took what seemed to be the easiest way in. I was rewarded with a fairly level terrain and wonderful vistas on the way to the cache which was quickly found. It’s nice to see a large container again. I’ve found a few but this is the first for some time.

A terrific experience, thanks Two Much Trouble it deserves a favourite point.

Loved walking out to this one today. The views over berowra waters were amazing today. Don't get to find many large caches, but it was nice to see one in great condition! Took TB. TFTC.

10-Aug-13
Walking around here reminds me so much of the Blue Mountains. Enjoyed the views to Berowa Waters below. Has been 19 years since I was down there for a wedding. I remember watching the sea plane take off on it way back to Port Jackson with the lucky married couple. This is my second ever large cache. There aren't many around. TFTC. Found with limaka.

On holiday out this way. Had a quick look but no find today.

10-Jun-13
Found it on queens birthday holiday Monday. After just completing a rather long walk to another local cache we decided to find this one before heading home. We parked in the obvious street and found the start of the trail by clambering up the rocks (this seems the best way in and it's not too hard), the view 200 metres from gz is great - looking directly down on the marina. We continued on and found the large cache without any problems. TFTC

After my 7hr journey to Panorama cache, I wanted another cache to tick off my JASMAR calendar (to find a cache in each month since caching began). I parked and started walking and it was a nice easy walk towards GZ. Overshot it a little and then came back and found the huge container soon after. SL, Took the TB to move on, LN. Great veiws and nice to knock this one off. TFTC.

20-Sep-12
We did a little bit of route planning for this one and came in via the nearby road at a similar elevation. A great little bush walk of a narrow track of about 500m to get to the cache. We arrived at the rock platform and was greted with a view up and down the water way and took a few pictures. The cache was not far after that and we got to a point on the track where the cache is 30m off the track. A few geo trail led us to the right area and we soon uncovered the large cache. A good size and well stocked. We dropped off a travel bug and then signed the log before re hiding. TFTC. A fav pt from us

I spent the morning bushwalking and caching in the Berowra area. This was another fabulous cache and a lovely walk out and a quick find on a perfect late winter's day.

Really surprised by the size of the cache - love these BIG ones:)

Awesome views on the walk to GZ. Startled a huge eastern brown snake about 20m from GZ. I heard a rustle and suddenly the snake reared its head about 4m away and seemed to come at me, so I leapt onto a rock and it disappeared behind another rock (which was maybe what it was intending to do, rather than attack me).

I soon found the cache (somewhat cautiously!), signed and was on my way. Thanks Two Much Trouble, didn't realise the views to Berowra Waters would be so good from here.

03-Oct-11
Went out by myself on a wet dark night, should know not to be so silly. Making my way to the cache i was attacked by hordes of zombies, luckily i found a good stick to double as an assault rifle, made the find and logged the cache. This is one brain you will never get zombies!

We used to be Two Much Trouble, but lost access to that account on www.geocaching.com after I changed jobs and dont' have that email address any more, so we became DFLL. We needed to create a big cache to put Steve in. Steve's a travel bug, see the TB's who've visited this cache to learn about him.

We moved out of the area a few years ago, and haven't been back until today, so we had to check up on the cache.

The area is much more over-grown than it was when we placed the cache, but it's still easy enough to find. Someone has replaced the cache container, so thank you whoever that was, and the cache was still fairly well stocked with goodies, though I threw in a handful of swaps as well.

A beautiful winters day! And such a great short walk to GZ. We loved the sights and sounds. Not many spiders either. Made some swaps. TFTC!

18-Mar-11
A pleasantly cool afternoon for a bushwalk. For much of the walk, you see nothing but bushes, trees and rocks; then, about 200m from GZ, the vista opens up. Wonderful view.
Cache is in great shape. TNLN SL - Thanx!

05-Mar-11
Went home after today's activities a delicate shade of sticky yellow.... From all the spider's webs that I ran into!! I always feel a bit guilty destroying their dinner-capturing devices after all the work they put into them, but if they WILL insist on stringing (webbing??) them across paths to 'capture' unsuspecting cachers....Hmmmmm..
Fantastic views en-route, plenty of boats below!!
Took a green (!!) ping pong ball and left a badge. SL, TfTC Smile!!

1st cache on a particularly humid day of geocaching with greg Very Happy A wet / spider-webby walk along the track led us to GZ, where greg spotted the cache in no time at all! Dropped off some swag, signed log and replaced cache as found. TFTC!! ^_^

A lovely walk up from Berowra Waters to reach this cache, with plenty of good views along the way. An easy find, and more great views from on top of the ridge. TFTC Big Grin

17-Sep-10
Another Friday arvo, another Berowra cache. Surely one of the best areas for caching in Sydney and yet hardly anyone bothers to come here any more. Many of these caches only get a couple of visitors a year now. Parked at the end of the "hush hush" road, anyone could work out which one and proceeded into the bush. It's not the obvious track to the left though! About halfway to GZ, maybe less, we made a bit of a discovery on the rocks to the left of the track. Won't say what but it's worth a look.

Went on and started seeing some amazing views of the water and the "Boats Below". As usual as we approached GZ the new GPS couldn't decide which way was up, down or sideways so we went in circles for a bit before making a pretty easy find. A big bucket with not a lot in there but what's there is good quality. Took the US half dollar and left something I can't quite recall now. Never see any TBs or GCs any more. Not surprised if people have given up on them, so many go missing. Signed the log and replaced the cache, hiding it a little better.

On our way back we followed the cliff edge with the water view and found some whitefella carvings at one point. Someone spent a long while on the design in the photo. A beautiful walk on a lovely afternoon. So many wildflowers out at the moment, well worth the visit right now.
Thanks!

05-Jul-10
As with quite a few caches I've attempted lately, the Garmin would not behave for me on the best spot to park for this cache, I fortunately knew where to go and the walk from here was only 500 odd metres.... the kids enjoyed the views as did I, we took a photo of the view of Berowra below us before signing the log book....we took nothing out and left nothing either Thanks for the cache nice workWinkBig Grin

14-Jun-10
We loved the walk and views along this short bushtrack, wish it was longer. The GPS pointed us right at the cache which was a decent size compared to all the nanos we have been chasing lately. After logging and rehiding we headed back to the rock platform for morning tea with one of the best views around, and yes, there were a lot of boats below us. You'd think they'd all be out cruising on the Hawkesbury on such a brilliant sunny holiday. TN, left a US half dollar. Thanks for an excellent hide in a great location.

25-Sep-09
Found after a rather painful walk to the GZ. My legs were stinging by the time i'd finished!!

I was also rather jumpy and on edge, knowing that this is prime territory and conditions for 'Joe Blake' as it was very warm and sunny today!! Eek!!

Lots of beautiful spring blooms around though, so quite a pretty bush bash and well worth it for the views!! We got to the GZ just as the sun went down behind the opposite Cliffs, fantastic end to a great days caching!! Imgettingannoyed was along with me, for the ride, as he found this cache 5 years ago!!)

TFTC. Took Kookaburra TB.

Out of the four Caches I did this morning I think I liked this one the best. In fact its the best Cache I've done for a while. After doing a couple of Urban Micros yesterday it was just the tonic I needed. The Cache itself was an easy find, was large and well stocked. The walk into GZ was great, with the spring flowers in bloom everywhere I looked. But the view from the large rock to the left of the track was the aspect that did it for me. Standing up there with nothing to block my view for miles, it was stunning. Thanks for taking to such a awesome spot.

10-May-08
Another beautiful sunny autumn day found us once again in Berowra perchance to explore some more of this area and locate a cache or three. This one was an easy short walk from where we left the car along a ridge track. Within a couple of minutes the suburban street is thankfully left behind and one then has nice views to either side including Berowra Ck and not a few boats. The cache was too big to miss. We took a fridge magnet and left a DVD. Also picked up the Not Another Micro coin and left the Zecke geocoin.

Pleasant walk in on a sunny Autumn morning. Nice change to all the Berowra hills we've climbed. Enjoyed the views. Took whistle and left "Not Another Micro 2007" geocoin. Thanks Two Much Trouble.

The third cache on our Berowra trip, we followed the suggestion to enter via the road nearest the cache (am not telling you the name of it!).
Nice walk, and really nice view over the waters.
Took Happiness Kit, left ball with suction cups.

06-Oct-07
Another lonely Berowra cache - just 3 visitors this year. Easy find, great views and a not-too-hard walk make this a cache that I would have expected to get more visitors.

You can always pick them - someone walking out with a GPS in his hand as we were walking in. Nice to meet you "Go Team K"
The cache could have been closer to the view. The view was absolutely worth it.
Took Yo Yo and DVD "40 yrs ESR"
Left Pen, Ping pong ball and Whistle.

Thanks,

Bumped in to Asho at Boats Below and had a very pleasent conversation. Nice views down into the valley. Must explore these trails in more details.
Left a yo-yo (which Asho appears to have picked up 10 minutes later - see previous post) and took the binoculars.

Walked past this cache at least 10 times this year and never noticed it Smile
Took nothing and left a pack of blank CD-R (all i had left in my car)

Probably our favourite for the day. The views were so quaint and picture perfect. We wondered what life would be like for those people with just water access to their homes. Enjoyed the walk to the cache as well. Took bear and left playing cards. Thanks Two Much Trouble.
