I was never happy with the spot I chose for this cache and so I've decided to archive it. I hope a local places a cache in the vicinity as it deserves to have one.

Wow, what a great job the Lions club has done here, and the walk was very enjoyable, there is some water behind the weir. (See photo)
Stopped at the Driver Reviver and discussed the Weir and Geocaching they knew about in the area.
Cheers

Found at 1625 on a late arvo cache run from Cowell to Cleve. Found cache fairly quickly, took a look at the weir but didn't stay too long cause the flies were the worst we have ever experienced.

Wooow what a great little picnic spot
I would have been tempted to stay the night if the wind hadnt been howling.
It was however a very enjoyable visit.

Found this cache (the 8th for the day and the 19th on a geocaching expedition through Eyre Peninsula) whilst still munching on a Golden North's 'Giant Twin', purchased from the only business open on a lazy Saturday afternoon - the Servo! I've never seen this place with any water - today it appeared bone dry. TNLNSL, TFTC, Cheers, Rav 4 Raiders
came here on new years day in 07, but wasnt into geocaching then

At 11.25h, Arnty B thought it was a lovely day but a bit windy. Cache contents were still wet and I swapped wet for dry where I could. Took - Damp furry animal, Whistle & Hair scrunchies. Left - Finger puppet, Whistle, Key tag & IKEA pencil. TFTC
Found it after a bit of scrounging. Contents all wet. Left everything out in sun for 1/2 hour and wiped out container. Marvellous place and so close to home. Who'd have thought. Well done to all concerned.

Quite an eerie spot with no water in the weir. But friends tell us they have seen this area in flood. Hard to imagine. Lots of history and lots of flies. TFTC TNLN. Tuccamore
1st one we have done, and we found it, what a great way to spend a day, and look at the scenery, although this was a nice country walk, the flies were friendly, wasnt organised, so T/n, L/n
[We found it. Nice view,] pitty not much water.

This is the first cache I have tried to find by my 'own self'. Found it after a bit of fluffing around. Just love the locations these caches are put in. Lovely little park with minimal signage that I would have previously just driven past. Left nothing but footprints and took only memories. Feelin' silly coz after this spot, I drove up to where I am sure the Windy Hill cache would be (thinking what a great place to put a cache)- not realising a cache was there somewhere - will get it another time!
I wonder how long it’s been since that weir was more than just a scungy puddle?? But other than the lack of water, this was a really beautiful spot and would be a great place to camp. Found the cache after a short walk. In the log, we noted that in 2004, Astro had mentioned that the wheels in the wheelhouse were able to be turned. I hope it wasn’t his fault that all the water leaked out? . Made no swaps. Thanks for showing us this place Bunya
A great well maintained picnic area, well worth a visit.

I finally found it on the third attempt! The first 2 attempts sent me into the scrub! I did have some help from Redmond, so hopefully I'm on my way to many more!

Mr matmob had heard of this place and always wanted to see it - thanks to GC he now has! Not much water in here now, seems it was a bit of a flop right from the beginning according to local muggles who were with us. Kids loved the shetland ponies in the paddocks on the way in. Think we TNLN, but not sure!
Lived so close but never knew of this. Surprised at numbers of visitors to the area
Great place - have flagged as a possible campsite for future trips - pity we were there on such a horrid day - TFTC
This was our first attempt and Geocaches and Story2 found it first. Swapped some goodies looked around the weir. Careful for the Redback in the wheel house.
Moving onto the next one....

Great Cache spot, a little water left in the weir, surprisingly! the kids were excited to find this one on their own, and are looking forward to placing the travel bug at the next Cache spot.
Thanks BUNYA a great spot!

Been travelling past here for years but would never have thought of turning down this road. Thankyou for the cache.
Geo-nephew getting very excited about about finding treasure. Last one for the day and the light is fading.
Our damn dog ran down into what was left of the water and got all muddy.
Make sure you visit the BBQ area and sign their visitors log books they have there.
Took green Key Ring and left Hi-tech diesel keyring.
We forgot to bring swaps and geo-nephew was outraged so I had to give in and leave my cars keyring

When we originally placed this cache we weren’t too sure how it would last as there was ongoing work on walkway making, pipe laying and tree planting of unpredictable direction and extent.
However it seems to have survived and so put new container in the same spot.

What a great place, facilities are v/good. I was feeling a bit knackered so I stayed an hour for some shut-eye whilst the kids got some much needed exercise. TFTH
Took a small detour while going past for work to explore the past at this wonderful site.

Have visisted this place before when there was a lot more water in the dam. What was there today wasn't even enough to "wash a hogg". Really interesting place to visit and wonder at the history.

A great location. Very interesting and some of the old gateworks are still functioning!
I noted while at the Koppio museum an article that stated 3 men were killed while building this weir. Makes you appreciate how much of an achievement these constructions really were.

Interesting cache to say the least. Some of the discussion with the work mate whilst finding this included; why would you come for a picnic here, why would you think of putting a picnic area here, and why on earth is there a weir here?
We found the cache easily, along with thousands of roo droppings!!! Spotted a few roo's bouncing around a couple of hundred metres away.

nice day for caching, found it easily, swapped car badge for ball first of 4 caches for the day
Thanks for another interesting location Bunya. Your caches are just at the edge of our home territory, and having a couple close by made the trip worth while. It was a glorious day, with a cool breeze which kept the flies away. Cache was right on coordinates and, after the last two, mercifully easy to spot. Took some tissues and left a big yellow tip truck, which seemed appropriate, given the history of the site. After 3/3 for the afternoon headed up to Cleve. Nothing was open except the Roadhouse, where we had a meal before heading back to the skull cave. Recommend the meal/service and complimentary tea/coffee if you are passing through
What a great picnic spot, except for the flies. Looks like they have finished work on it now. Took the teradactyl and left a large clip.

Nice and interesting spot but too hot, too many flies and too early for a leisurely stop. TNLN
hey this is a nice site.... and great cache... enjoyed looking about... thought it great that you can enter the wheel house building... very windy day though... no swaps.... cheers 4 the cache
I was wheely impressed with this cache. Left ball and took rubber. The great BBQ/camp area could come in handy! Check out the house.
Thanks Bunya. Clear skies, Astro.
