**Today:**Found with DSDMy first ever day in South Australia Woke up in Mount Gambier today with no real destination, but a big list of caches! Ended up just up the road in Millicent, but still several hundred kilometres travelled as we detoured down to the coast! The biggest goal of today, and the entire trip, was finishing my AUSMER! We found not only one, but two caches in my final month I needed! Its been a multi-year challenging journey, so good for it to be finished! ---**This Cache:**As mentioned in my EC log, this is just a fascinating location! Well & truly off the beaten track, as the only official track that seems to lead here is Private so you have to come from the beach and follow footpads through the scrub instead! This means it is probably rarely visited however, which makes it even more special! Enjoyed climbing out to this one, right out to the point. Also good to see such an old coastal cache still kicking on!TFTC

Today is Easter Sunday the weather started out quite nice the fog was gone and the sky was cloudy. We knew this was going to change so we went out for a walk to the rocks. Amazing highlight of the day.
After that we went back to camp for bacon and egg brunch and as expected the rain came. We hunted a little more along the coast and then back to camp for hot cross buns.
Out for the afternoon to do a loop of caches and a walk at Nene Valley our Google maps called it neigh neigh valley which quite entertained me.
The bleak weather today meant no more snake encounters. Hoorah.
Back to camp for G&Ts and nibbles night what a fun way to spend Easter
Loved our walk out here was great to find this oldie with original container and log book. TFTC

Found with EsromL as we headed down the southeast for a few days of camping. Although geocaching wasn’t the purpose of the trip, we did grab a few caches of interest that were close to where we were going.

After stopping to make some lunch and completing the nearby earthcache, we continued out on the rocks to this cache.

Thanks scojohara for the cache.

Thanks for the cache

Catching down the road from our accommodation with CPwanderer & Gizmo's Gang.
After completing the earthcache, I found a handy track down to the sand.
It was almost like walking through a movie set for 007 Moonraker.
The view from land spit was amazing. The sat loc was a bit fritzy, so I used my geocaching logic and was rewarded by finding the cache.
Thanks for bringing us here scojohara, a favourite Smile

What an incredible place for the cache! This is what I love about geocaching, it takes you to places you wouldn’t normally go. The Welder and I carefully walked out here with our three minis and enjoyed the views. The kids loved the shells and fossils scattered at the top and admired the rock formation. While the kids were safely up the top, I walked around and made the find. A perfect spot for the cache! A favourite point from me for a great adventure!

So we did it, we took the plunge and early last year made arrangements to sell our little hobby farm in South Gippsland and ‘do a big lap’.
No full lap is complete without a lap of the little island first.
So after tidying up our affairs and putting everything into storage, we celebrated Christmas with our families and hit the road.

We recently spent 7 magnificent weeks in beautiful Tasmania, then we just did a quick trip down the west coast of boring old Victoria, making our way to South Australia, crossing the border before Covid strikes again.
Looking forward to slowing things down as we spend time in SA with no return date planned.
Thanks for being one of the CO’s who supplied us with a cache to do on the way.
This one was most enjoyable.

Should I or shouldn't I? What the heck and rewarded with a find! TFTC

We didnt get much tume to look and I now regret it. After 2.5KM of walking we get to the spot but we only got a 5 minute look. Sadly I cut open my toe on a rock and had to go back to clean it up. This one is definatly on my bucket list. TFTC and the amazing spot...

15-Feb-21
OMG. Thank you, thank you, thank you for bringing me to this awesome spot. I love it when geocaching takes you somewhere you wouldn’t go. The very narrow, scratchy track in and the March fly bite were well worth it. We are so lucky to live in such an amazing country.

25-Jan-21
That is a good location for a cache. quick find.
found with mogni. The target this australia day long weekend was 2 island caches, ladder entry in to a cave, a few tree/structure climbs, finishing mine and mogni's tradition fizzy grids, driving for 10's of km's along the coast line at various spots ( longest stretch was over 30 km's ) and a multi on a calendar day for me plus a puzzle and multi on calendar days for mogni.

In Millicent for the long weekend and to attend the Geoventure 2020 Celebration Event..oh and to cache of course! Today was also a number building exercise to get us to our next milestone of 5000. We were out with hevwalker, scramping. Mattycat, Sebastbat and **JEM**. It was a wild and wooly day today..rain. wind, birds flying backwards, Cows blowing over...it was carnage. But we eventually got to the cache, signed and replaced! TFTC[8)][8)]

Down in Millicent for the "Used 2B a Geoventure" celebration weekend.
( Hopefully we'll be back for the big one when it's able to go ahead Wink )

Teamed up with Sebastbat, and JEM for a long long weekend caching. CoolCoolCool
Joined SnappyTomCats, Scramping, and Hevwalker for a while today, then added Freddo and Trigger_Fish, so interesting tracks, sand, mud, bushes, coastal ruggedness... all in the pouring rain and wind. Great company and a lot of fun Cool

An interesting bit of the coast we almost got blown right off, and in the wild weather a family was out here walking their dog Surprised Neat hide of significant age!

Thanks for placing and maintaining a cache on this corner of our caching map scojohara

Stay safe out there, caches and their hidey holes can be dirty and wet!
wash your hands, wipe down your cache gear,
sanitise, exercise, even wear a mask if hayfever season gets to you and
cache the countryside safely distanced at least a roo or an adult brown snake's length apart ! ! !
Have fun out there ! ! ! Smile

The great Southeast Saunter with Anymules down to the Millicent area to find caches associated with the postponed GV2020 mega. Surprised But with leave organized and accommodation booked the caching trip was not postponed! [^]

Day 3: Today we set off to get out names in all the SFE challenges (qualified or not) and then head to Carpenter Rocks. From there it was up through the Canunda National Park again to finish caches in the southern section. Smile This coincided nicely with finishing near the night cache just after sunset. Cool

A mini me look alike. But a fantastic walk out in the rain with the wind blowing a gale. The other eroded rock formations in the area of the cache are amazing. Cache quickly found but we stayed quite a while despite the weather to take in all the scenery here. Smile FP from me. [:X]

***Thanks scojohara for putting out this cache and maintaining it for our enjoyment. *** Big Grin

A day trip to Carpenters Rocks was our goal today and grabbing a few caches while we were at it.

After visiting the nearby earthcache and anointing the geomobile with several more 4x4 scratches on the way in we headed off to look for this one. The scenery is amazing....and yes....this area sure does look like the pinnacles in WA.

Many thanks for showing us this stunning area and for this nice, older cache scojohara

Amazing little place you'd never visit if not for the cache! Some interesting and unusual rocks around here. The ones in the shapes of the old plant roots are intriguing. A nice walk around here and a quick find once I got to GZ!

We travelled across to Millicent for a long weekend to try and collect a few of the puzzles before the Mega crowds hit town. We hired an AirBnB with Robmc and Betty Boo and managed a pretty good haul for the weekend.

Today we headed from Carpenter's Rocks to Southend for the day. We were occasionally interrupted by sleety rain but not for long.
We visited this spot several times over the weekend to enjoy the views. No snorkelling for us this weekend - way too rough.
Thanks for contributing to a fun day scojohara

Today was my final day during a weekend in Mount Gambier and its surrounds. My scuba diving was canceled for the day, so rather than head back to Adelaide early, I did some geocaching targeting some of the longer unfound caches, and a few in the region that I needed for my Jasmine grid. After some maintenance to some existing caches, I headed south to Lake Bonney and visit Carpenter Rocks, Pelican Point, and Blackfellows Caves. It was then back on to Millicent and cut through the area towards Penola collecting geocaches along those hills and roads. Finally, some driving around the backroads off Naracoorte to visit Joanna to collect some early hidden caches.

I couldn't seem to drive too close, but had my jeep driver over the narrow track with a few areas of deep ruts. Once parked, it was a nice walk to GZ, although I did stupidly turn one direction and was moving away from GZ for a good 80 m. Once at GZ, I thought it would take a bit to search, especially at the various elevations, but managed to find the cache after a few minutes in a nice hiding spot. Cache all good, and dropped a TB. Nice to collect this early 2004 goodie. Difficulty/Terrain could be increased, but a fun adventure nevertheless, thanks scojohara!

15-Mar-19
Suscoe's last day in Mount Gambier and we had a lovely time picking up a few more caches.
The day started out with solid drizzle before we got up. The remainder of the day was cloudy, a little sunny and mild, the perfect temperature for us to caching in.
We enjoyed some town caches, some farmland caches and some coastal caches.
Thanks to scojohara for placing this cache out here, a brilliant spot and we were pleased to be here on a calm day.

22-Feb-19
What a lovely trek, great views...took a while to find the cache as we did not know which level we should be on...we weren't keen to go down, down, down & thankfully we didn't have too...
Saw something that looked like it could have been a hiding spot and it certainly was...
Nice dry cache and still in good condition...
Surprised the last find was 14 months ago.

WOW!!! That was a trek and a half. And the views...omg...photo heaven. Hevwalker and I refused to give up after the trek across from the parking area. Definitely worth a fav point. Tftc.

21-Jan-18
That's a big nope from me - I'm not going down there! So close, yet so far. TD should be upgraded, I wouldn't have gone after it otherwise. Great scenery though, especially the pinnacles, so still worth the walk Smile

09-Nov-17
This really pushed my comfort zone outward! Geohubby made the final bit of the trip and yelled out in triumph when the cache was located. I think terrain difficulty should be at least 3.5! Great views from the top and interesting sights along the way. We had some trouble finding the right way to get here.

03-Oct-17
Thoroughly enjoyed the journey to GC location, and the amazing formations on the way... had no idea they existed... many photos were taken. Up and around GZ it was very windy, with rough seas, but fabulous views. We hunted high, we hunted low, we braved the rocks, and the scramble and the sedges, we noted the shell midden... we also felt that the terrain rating should be nudged a star higher, but we were still game for it. Alas, after 1/2 hour had to admit defeat, but what a fun half hour it was anyways. TFTC, which given we visit the Mount often, we shall return to find.

28-Sep-16
Found it. Great spot.

Day 10 of our geoholiday in Victoria and we are slowly making our way back to Adelaide grabbing caches along the way, Awesome spot tovisit, the last time we were down this way Mrs 3LG wanted to come to this cache but we didn't make and when we returned home a few people told us we missed out on a great location with a cache. Today we didn't miss it, a huge detour was made before making our way home. The D/T rating should be higher but I guess it's an old cache. Mr 3LG wanted to get some pics from GZ but the wind was a little to strong for him today and it would hurt if he was to fall over. TFTC

A bit of an arduous one to get to and as usual it is always in the last place you look Smile The rock formations around here are fascinating.... Very rugged. I leave lots in the wild but rarely find them so it was great to be rewarded. TFTC

Found on a wonderful day trip to Beachport with mogni.

What a great cache. Mr M went to make the find leaving mogni (who is a previous finder) and Mrs M at a more comfortable location. Unfortunately Mr M had a lot of trouble locating the cache and mogni decided to make the journey over to GZ to lend a hand. As she came up the rise she found Mr M signing the log. Sometimes you just have to keep looking and the cache will reveal itself.

TFTC scojohara.
