Out on a very warm day geocaching with Legend and Sniggypop to try to find the rest of the drum caches that we solved earlier this year. Found this on on the way and solved the coordinates.
Out with ILTW and Legend. Took a small diversion from The Drum to do this one. Nice little puzzle and easy find. TFTC
This cache had been on my radar for ages. The published dated and nearby location were reasons that I wanted a find, but for some reason, I just never stopped to search for the cache.28 May, Shazzar66 and I rocked up at this little suburban park, to look for this cache, but it was getting a little late in the afternoon, and we decided to pull the pin.Today we revisitited Little Local Rainforest revisited. The signs that we needed all surround the boardwalk, rather than the Waypoints given. After working that out, we worked out the corrected coordinates, and made our way to GZ.Log book was found, signed and returned. Thanks, Russelz, for keeping this cache going for our enjoyment.
Headed here with Duppers.I found your cache, Little Local Rainforest (Revised) today. This is my 3109 find.Signed as ShaDup.ruzzelz, TFTC, TFTH & TFTSF
The link mountains to mangroves.org on the related page takes you to some Japanese spam page. I'm not sure if there is still a mountains to mangroves page or not, but the link needs to be fixed one way or the other. Thanks ruzzelz for keeping this Oldie going. Once we have worked out the coords, Shazzar66 and I will be back for the find.
Had to PAF as I couldn't find the correct sign. Ended up finding lots of signs had to get assistance removing the cache as it was in there tight but it came out and we were able to sign the log. Signed as SFC. TFTC.
This was a fantastic hidden gem that I doubt I would have found with a cache to go looking for. Thanks for setting it up and giving us a reason to go for a walk through the greenery.
Came here with MonkeyMaker to get this oldie. Not disappointed by the walk and th cache. Pretty easy puzzle once we got to the correct site. And a cute walkI AM GUR
An interesting cache, and a little bit of history learnt. Nice little place to discover too! I’m glad this one had been kept going. At first we were at a completely wrong GZ but then a quick recalculate had a far more promising location. Sure enough - there it was! We’ll camouflaged so it shouldn’t get muggled any time soon. I love all the bird life info around here.
I visited this garden years ago when the kids were small, they loved exploring the boardwalk and learning about the windmill. Today I was very happy to rediscover it and enjoy the peace and greenery on my own. I hope council and volunteers keep this place intact for future families to visit. Thanks for the cache placement and maintenance. A favourite point from me.
Another cache up very high on my to get lost. Lovely walk and lots of wildlife around. Thank for maintaining this old beauty.
Brisbane and Sunny Coast, it is great to be back! I have lived here for a short period many, many years ago. At that time generally only caches at prominent spots or with plenty of favourite points attracted my attention. A lot has changed since then and I am all into the deeper caching stats since quite some time. Some years ago I wanted to put faces to names, so had planned to attend the local Mega Event and find numerous caches while being in the area. Unfortunately, the pandemic got in the way and meant that I had to cancel all travel arrangements last minute. This left me with a list of literary hundreds of caches, which included solved geoarts, caches that were worth getting to due to their old age or their rare type, challenge caches, or caches that would count towards filling my individual size and type D/T matrixes. Fortunately, this list that took months to prepare was not for nothing, as now I am finally back in the area, even if it’s just for a short trip. In the lead up to my current visit I updated my list and tried to streamline the route as good as possible to make the best out of my limited time. The grand aim aside of getting a couple more caches for filling my Jasmer calendar was completing lots of loops! This included completing my 4th and 5th overall D/T matrix loop and completing the D/T matrix using only mystery caches, and only micro sized caches and only small sized caches caches!! Of course the shabby weather couldn’t stop me from putting my plan into action. So, I am now very happy to log my find of this cache after all this effort. Thank you very much ruzzelz for creating and placing Little Local Rainforest (Revised)! It certainly was a great trip which brought me to great caches and locations!

Today, I joined ruzzelz for a kayak paddle along Burpengary Creek, targeting the recently published *Bird Sanctuary* puzzle caches, and other interesting geocaches. An enjoyable paddle adventure with a few terrific creek sections, although it was longer than we had anticipated.
As the rain drizzle started to fall, I visited a few other geocaches in the area, including the *Moore Road* trail series, before then heading west to Burpengary for a late lunch, where I also completed the [Points of interest in Burpengary](https://labs.geocaching.com/goto/655391cd-4c30-407b-85ba-350e98fe280c) Adventure Lab. By this time, with increasing rain intensity, I travelled back home, and with a small weather window, I took a few final stops in Chermside and Stafford Heights.
What a lovely area, and I will try to return here with the rest of the family. Answers to the questions were collected, and a good set of coordinates for GZ were calculated. It was then only a short walk, and after searching around the hides and nooks, I caught sight of a cm of plastic, that could only be the container. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks llourd for the cache placement, and ruzzelz for its ongoing maintenance. It was nice to have found this oldie 12/2004 hidden cache, of which is one of Queensland's 500 oldest yet active geocaches.

Lots of kilometres in the legs today after Sandgate Parkrun, numerous adlabs and various other caches...plus a decent stroll around this area too. But after getting getting to GZ I had an oh my gosh moment - am I in the RAINFOREST and I don't have a pen? Never fear, I can order one from AMAZON hahahaha TFTC
Out and about in the area with Wallaby Wanderers and wonder dog Zelda after a parkrun at Chermside. We collected a few caches today, all were straight forward finds. This was another that has been on my list to find for quiet sometime, it’s always great tick off an oldie. Thanks to the COs for placing and looking after these ones.
While in the area logging some of Drum series, I decided to find this one. I couldn’t find anything at the posted coordinates but I knew where to find the rainforest. The area looked familiar, then I remembered there was a trad near here which I found last year but seems to have now been archived. Nice rainforest walk with interesting information and not even any mozzies today - maybe it was too hot for them! A quick find at gz though there were tree lopers nearby. Tftc
Oh geocaching, you’ve done it again.. taken me to a cool location that I would almost certainly never have visited. Continuing my pre-work mini adventures I ended up at this park. Like others, the listed coordinates through me out but the boardwalk listed coordinates had me on the right path. Such a great thing that was done here. I wish it was more common. I won’t say too much. Visit this cache to find out more, and take your time, it’s well worth it.
Cheers

Returned today & the coast was clear to search for the cache. A quick find & a TB picked up to continue its journey. Thanks for the multi & the cache.
Completed the multi without seeing many people around however at GZ there was a group of 3 sitting on a rug preventing me from carrying out a search. I will need to return
Back to avenge a DNF, although now that I found the cache I really don't know how I didn't find it last time. Poor searching skills on my behalf, but sometimes that happens.
Thank you ruzzelz for checking my coords and checking the cache was still in place. Happy to turn this into a smiley now

This was target for today, it was a lovely walk through the rainforest collecting the info. Had some good looking coords so set off to find the cache. I searched high and low but couldn’t find it, will have to come back another time and try again.
A nice little mystery while out chasing drums with Stephyy and some previous finders! TFTPC!
Another day out with swearah, jodsta83 and Krcamber collecting solved drum puzzles.
Stopped for this little Mystery as Krcamber and I had yet to find it.
Thanks

It was a lovely day to gather these answers with TrinityKat123. We went to the wrong side of the creek because we were chatting and not paying attention but corrected ourselves quickly and headed to GZ.
It was a nice quick find once there in a good hidey spot. Everything is in good condition. Thanks for the puzzle cache, llourd & ruzzelz

We have now set up camp at the Caboolture showgrounds. We have been joined for a couple of days by pprass.
Today was the 2nd day to finish off the drum series, the puzzles had been completed prior to leaving. home. So much information learnt about drummers & drumming.
This series today we spent about half & half of the time bike riding & by car. The bike riding was by far the most enjoyable.
This was the only cache we did today that was not part of the Drum series.
Thankyou ruzzelz for placing this cache.

I had a couple of reasons to stop and look for this oldie today while in the area beating a drum... first was that I have just meet the maintainer of the cache... Hey ruzzelz... we teamed up for trivia at the recent Dayboro mega... the other reason was I’ve mentioned to my partner that I’d like a rainforest garden at our new house.... a perfect opportunity to check one out here...
Cache was found without issue, although it was a little messy from all the recent rain... cleaned it up best I could, replaced the snap lock bag and added some silica to help with the damp... tftc...
Left Palarunca’s Lackey Tag to carry on...

A nice walk on a Friday afternoon. Skies had cleared, and the sun was breaking through the remaining clouds. Quick find at GZ. One of the container clips was undone, but had not let much water in. Slightly damp if anything. TFTC!
I finished work early today and since I was in the area I decided to take a look at this oldie that I’ve been meaning to do sometime now.
I had a very pleasant walk through the little rainforest reading all the information and learning a thing or two at the same time, shortly after that I had the required numbers, so I took a seat and worked out the final coords for my final destination. I wander over towards GZ and spotted the container quickly and in good condition. Thank you for giving me a reason to visit the area today, I enjoyed spending my time here this morning.

I was out today chasing a few target caches, cleaning up some blue faces and a few traditional’s as I would go past.
While I had this one solved a few months ago it was only today I ventured to retrieve. My first for the day and an oldie to add to my list, cache was buried in amongst the leaf litter and decay and took some retrieving but all was good inside, a little damp but still usable. Log signed contents replaced and covered as per find.
Thanks for the hide, this is a huge area with lots to do, I have never ventured into this area, will have to come back and explore some more, thanks.

Found GZ with help via PAF . Nice little area. Geokid played while I found and logged the cache. All is in good condition here. TFTC

Thursday. I arrived at some co-ords and same as previous cacher, found that the sign must have changed. Maybe after all these years it has been replaced? I checked the sign over and nothing. Ended up PAF’ing a previous finder for some hints and struck gold – both in the sense that someone answered their phone (always a bonus) and with the cache find. Found the cache container and signed the log but the rainforest must have moved down the road as the little local rainforest isn’t in this spot. Some good playing areas for the kids though.
This was the 1st of 2 caches found on today's trip.
Thanks ***ruzzelz***, for showing us this place.

Found this one quite quickly. While gathering the needed info there was a Bush turkey rearranging rhe place and i thought he would be The only creature I would encounter. That was until I spotted Mr snake, he was the harmless kind and on the rainforest floor but that didn't stop the heart racing. He continued on his way and I made my way out to sit down calculate the final coords. Thanks for the adventure and Tftc
Lobbed here after a CITO event. This ones waypoints were a bit confusing in that the ones that should have been listed weren't and the ones that were, didn't reveal the info needed. I didn't have a lot of time to walk through so drove around various points without joy and then checked google earth till I saw a likely spot and then I was in business. Gathered the info, plugged in some numbers and went and found the cache before the long drive to the Gold Coast.

Early morning CITO in a nearby reserve and a few caches to collect on the way thru the thriving metropolis of Chermside WestThe hot coffee is pretty good here ️
Located the coords earlier so the missing info was not a prob for us. Bit of a walk to get there as rocked up on the wrong side of the water and then surprised to see a small patch of lush rainforest. Cache logged and on our way Got a PAF soon after posting the note as others were struggling to get the numbers out.
TFTC llourd and ruzzelz!

Ms Maddy was super organised for our cito this morn and gave me a heads up about this puzzle, which was fab as we got to enjoy a coffee on route, before I needed to head back to the scouts den for my youngest. I loved the area and the company and all was good with the cache. Tftc
This was a little confusing at first. The cache was put down in 2004. The sign seems to be different. I had done a nearby cache so I knew where the Rainforest was. The drought has not been kind to it.
I now have some co-ordinates. No checker so I hope they are correct. Hopefully I'll get back there soon.

Out caching with the Tough Mothers (Jemillalucy, Bennyboppers and Lisylou). Great puzzle. A bit confusing to start with. TFTC!
Out with lisylou and jemilucy and mnance101 today we had no dramas once we were at the right waypoint to locate info
Took a little while to work what to do at the start but ee realised where we had to go after finding a nearby cache. We got all the info and a quick find at gz. Tftc
Nice trail. Bit confusing at first. A bit of back and forth but got there in the end! Tftc
After quite a bit of rain this morning, it was lovely to get out and go for a walk and enjoy this beautiful area. After a couple of days of rain, everything is looking green and lush. The ground was wet underneath, and we enjoyed our circuit of the entire creek area. Close to where we had to answer questions about this geocache, we really enjoyed looking at what the community have done to make this Area so beautiful. After collecting lots of numbers and reading lots of information, we put our numbers and data together and soon had a good looking, viable set of coordinates. GZ was close to where we had parked the car originally, and we found the log and signed our names.
Time for another one maybe before the rain sets in again.
Thanks llourd and ruzzelz
A definite favourite!

Parked near GZ and walked the wrong way for a time before heading back and stumbling upon the area in question. Nice spot (save for a couple of unfriendly swoops from a butcherbird...). I collected all the answers except for one, but I was able to work out the coords in any case. Then it was back the other way and a quick find. Thanks for the fun puzzle, llourd, and ruzzelz for maintenance.
Discovered this park a few days ago when I was looking for another geocache. Had to come back today and find this one. Thanks very much!!!
Not sure how all those waypoints worked so stumbling across the rainforest was a pleasant surprise. A hidden gem indeed. TFTC

Requiring a cache today, I was about to check the map when I remembered I didn't really need to - I knew I still had this cache sitting not done nearby, and decided it was now high time to right that wrong. So I finished work, picked up 1GiantPanda from his school then 1MinnieMooJnr from nearby and headed here.
My local knowledge meant I didn't need to worry about trying to work out where the rainforest was, and I parked as close as possible to it. I have spent much time over my years in this spot, tho never really seem to be lucky enough to see the creatures that inhabit it here. 1GiantPanda came along the rainforest journey with me to work out the answers while 1MinnieMooJnr opted to stay in the car and listen to her music. Wandering around we soon had all the required answers and sat down to work out the maths. It wasn't long before a nice set of coords presented themselves and we were on our way. 1GiantPanda may have become slightly distracted at this point between this and that and bush turkeys, so I had cache found and signed before he caught up. Then we were off once more with the journey home taking much longer than the cache did due to shocking traffic.
Thanks for the cache llourd and ruzzelz.

After a long absence from the hunt i thought i would get back into the game. As this cache is very close to home, why not start here.
Forest_chase came along too! We gathered our information and before long, we had a reasonable looking set of co-ords. The compass pointed us in the likely direction and before too long, we had arrived at a very promising location.
After some prodding and scratching about, we had located the cache. I summonsed up enough courage to extract the container and we soon had our names in the logbook.
All nicely sealed and returned. Ideal size for swaps or hiding a little treasure.

A nice way to start the day, with a stroll through a peaceful park behind my house which led me to my first geocache Thoroughly enjoying getting back into caching, I've done a bit of it in the past but am very excited to have my own account. This was the perfect reintroduction! A great first puzzle cache for any newbies. TFTC
Found this one last year but just came across a few I hadn't logged. Great mystery. Love this type when you actually visit a place and learn lots, that you would not normally have learned. TFTC
Like others I should have read the previous posts - got to WP1 and realised I had just been at the site where all the info was stored. Slogged back and wandered the boardwalk. In the end I couldn’t find 2 answers, so it is either a trick or signs have been changed - in the end it didn’t make any difference as I could guess the required answer. Walked back again and found the likely hiding spot and poked around with a TOTT - you sure do get a lot of leaf litter in Brisbane. Heard the clunk reaches and signed the log - TFTC
We found ourselves in this park last monday whilst Kayla was visiting the nearby scout den. The CO actually walked past with his dog whilst we were crunching some numbers.
I miscalculated the final so had to check when I got home.
Back on Saturday morning to make the find but encountered a film crew from locally high school at GZ. - no find for me.
Back on Sunday for another go and success this time - pouring rain helps keep the muggles away!
Thanks for the nice multi Russell

At the posted location, we found the sign and searched and searched and ... you get the trend. We couldn't find anything leading us to the rainforest and abandoned the search for another cache. Luckily that cache put us in the spot to discover what we needed.
Knowing that we had a big walk back to the car, our team of three worked hard finding the information we needed to unveil GZ. I was madly writing down numbers while the wife and geodaughter were reading them out. Slow down a bit, I only have one hand free and my nuts are itchy.
We took a seat to crunch the numbers and I asked my daughter to do some math which she flat out refused. It was the start of school holidays and her brain was officially closed for business. My brain was sober and the numbers were massaged and a final location plotted. Lucky it was on the way back to the car.
At GZ I took the high road, and my daughter took the low road and my wife stuck her hand into find the honey pot. Looks like some bedroom skills have finally come to our caching aid. Before our return walk we had to use some nearby playground equipment to try and mitigate the pain of the walk back by flying there. tftc

Enjoyed the walk and info gathering. Favorite for that.
While having lunch at nearby picnic tables, I worked out the numbers and gee whiz! Its right next door.

Log signed and replaced. Found at 12:25 pm on 12 September 2017. TFTC, llourd (cared for by ruzzelz)
Up from the GC to join team RoddyC to search for a few caches today and this was a fun and interesting one to do, enjoyed reading all the information signs and gathering the required figures. RoddyC did the maths during our lunch break and off we went for a nice quick find. Thanks llourd and ruzzelz & TFTC

I was puzzled when I arrived at the posted coords and could find nothing helpful. I kept wandering along the creek until I got to a road then circled back on the other side taking note of any signs I saw. After getting back to the car and deciding to continue on along the path, I finally found the rainforest and it all made sense. Well, except the bit about why the icon is where it is.
After that, the information was gathered quickly and GZ calculated. Once there, a cache guardian checked me out before obviously deciding I was ok and disappearing.

Loves doing this puzzle cache and finding this rain forest tucked away where you would never know it was there. Found with Quesera and Bear0503 yesterday on a lovely day out caching
I really enjoyed this little rainforest. Who would have thought this little park would have such a beautiful rainforest was hidden away in this park. Saw some beautiful ducks along the journey too. Found with Que Sera and SharpeM
what a lovely little rain forest in the middle of this nice park. really enjoyed collecting info and doing the sums. we would never have gone to this park without you taking sharpem, bear0503 and i here. thanks for placing this cache here for us to enjoy. i have given it a fp .
Out with KerriMG before the kiddies finish school for the year.
We were too busy talking that we walked past some important information, ended up on the wrong side of the creek, or maybe not.
Arrived at the sign but we couldn't make heads or tails of what we were meant to do.
Headed elsewhere where we got some intel on where to maybe try. And that worked.
I think there is a sign missing but we still were able to get the info required.
And easily calculated the final coords. There were a few high school kids around but they weren't paying us any attention. Made a quick find.
This was a lovely parcel of land in suburbia.
Left a Christmas deco (I love Christmas)
Thanks ruzzelz

A nice little park to walk the geodog. I reached the rainforest and started to gather the information. A couple of questions were not available so I had to resort to google and some maths logic to work out the final co-ords. Fortunately my maths was right and I checked a couple of spots before the third one. Poked a stick in and it struck the soft sound of a container. In I delved and was very pleased to make this one a smile. TFTC ruzzelz
Can't think of a better way to celebrate my first visit to the EKKA than a cache hunt with my sweetie on the way home Brissy has really turned on the fine weather for show week A field puzzle that was solved easily.
We wandered about for a bit before I finally found the prize But I think the Cat is out of practice as I was logging the cache while he was still having a boy look over there Yoohoo!!!
On we rolled as it's almost wine o'clock, and looking forward to a sunny loooooooong weekend...
TFTC ruzzelz!

Quick easy fun find. We couldn't find one of the answers. When the rainfotest was written? So guessed part of the co ordinates. Needed this for the hidden month and year. Very excited to have found this because after reading previous logs thought i might not be able to work out the final co ordinates. Happy camper. Also scored some unlove. Completed this with RhoBoCacher. Don't even bother with the 1st way point just follow the signs to the Rainforest.
So out with dora the explorer today and this was number 1 of the day, and we couldnt find one part of the co-ords needed but cause we are smart and our geo brains were working we worked it out. After crossing the creek a couple of times which was not nessacary, we found it and found lots of local wildlife aswell. Dora also introduced me to munzees i have known about them for a while but never got into it before. We also scored some unloved on this cache too TFTC
Great cache! One thing, the first part: "bust tucker" is not there and we spent ages looking for it. Still an awesome cache though! TFTC
Needed to get a cache to fill in a calendar gap so decided to tackle this one today.
Turned up at the posted coords, and read about bush tucker but saw nothing indicating the location of the rainforest. Walked around searching for a likely location, and headed towards the location listed as good to take photos. Spied what looked like the rainforest (well spied a boardwalk) so was able to enter.
Lovely walk in a great small rainforest. Noted the answers to the clues and soon had good looking coords. Headed off and found the cache. Glad to sign off on another puzzle. TFTC

Well done to the community group that re-created the rainforest. This is the oldest cache that I've found to date. TFTC ruzzelz
Tftc it was really mysterious.. took us a while but found a good app to lead the way. Thought the coordinates were ages away but turns out wasnt outside the park
After celebrating Rhyssa6's 1000th find this morning, Brother Colin and I spent a few hours out and about before a puzzle solving gathering this afternoon
Time for me to get a smilie today! I've been to the posted co-ords for this one before but couldn't find any other co-ords, and wasn't aware of the actual Rainforest area, so didn't even get started on the puzzle [v] Today, with rather a lot more experience under my caching belt, I picked a better starting point and we very soon began to find all the necessary signs and info [^] Some fun was had crunching the numbers, and our GZ looked good, so we headed over. The hiding spot was quickly noted and the cache found. TFTC, and for bringing me to this interesting place, ruzzelz.

Out and about with IolantheK on our way to a meeting.
But we had to find a cache today and as we were in the neighbourhood we headed over here.
We made our way around the boardwalk and soon had answers to all of the questions.
A quick find once at GZ.
Thanks for the cache.

I was in the area today to do a puzzle nearby that I need for the April challenge and thought I'd do this one too.
I went to the starting coordinates and found the Bush Tucker sign but couldn't find any relevant information there so I looked around and started walking. It isn't a huge park and I figured I'd find something helpful sooner or later. Eventually I found a map and decided I'd just keep following the path.
After a while I came to another sign which told me the location of the rainforest - back the way I'd come but on the other side of the creek!
Once in the rainforest I quickly found all the information I needed but after doing the maths I had a very odd location for the finale. I tried randomly changing a couple of things but that still didn't help so I took another look at the maths. A facepalm moment when I realized I'd divided when I needed to subtract, I now had a much better looking set of coordinates and set off for GZ. Spotted something as I approached and thought I bet that's where it is and sure enough it was there. I'd actually walked within a few metres of it earlier in my meanderings!
Log signed and cache replaced with a TB added.
**Note: After reading all the logs about the starting coordinates I went back to the sign and had another search but I still couldn't find a set of coordinates anywhere. Maybe they're so faded now that they can't be seen without the sun reflecting at the right angle? (There was no sun when I was there this morning).

Needing a cache foor the day, I decided that a walk in the rainforest might be in order. I love rainforests. Something about them is soothing to my soul. I parked nearby and wandered over to this tiny forest and collected the information required whilst constantly swatting at mozzies. I then made my way to GZ where I quickly located the cache. I signed the log and returned the cache to its hide before making my way back to my car.
Out in the Chermside area today collecting solved puzzles, and it seemed only right to drop by this one. I was curious to see what sort of rainforest could possibly exist in this suburban area. After getting the initial coords (which are by now vary faded and required approaching from just the right angle to get an interrupted reflection to read them), I proceeded to the start. What a wonderful area this is, really quite special. After a wander down the boardwalk, I had all the info required and sat on the convenient to do the simple calcs. I didn't see any wildlife here, they must have seen me coming first!! A short trip back to GZ, and I made a quick find of a tidy cache! All very well maintained for its age, a real treat, Thanks so much. FP from me
We were looking for a fun dog-friendly cache for a leisurely family walk, and this one looked great on the brochure.
Alas, we arrived at the start to find that, despite the attribute, our dog was not welcome. Sadly we had to leave empty handed today.
The 24/7 and bike attributes, likewise, are incorrect.
I would request that the owner please correct the attributes so that others won't be disappointed as we were.
