Geocaching goes on, a few more finds after work. Made possible by the onset of daylight saving time. Made my way up the dense bush from the creek until a track appeared. Previously logged the High Adventure geocache.Explored potential hides as you can never get tired of seeking. Gotcha. Nice. Thanks The 2 Dogs and Geocaching NSW for sharing this cache
Great find! Walk was quite steep uphill walking from the opposite side of the bush but find was worth it. Took a bit to figure out which rock cliff it was hidden around but got it eventually
Spent this week clearing out the last of the caches I had in Bidjigal. This was my final trad!Just one semi solved puzzle and one night cache to go! The walk here was pleasant, I like the bush at a higher elevation, sandy, rocks and brush. Not so much the lower damp, viny bush. At GZ, I quickly honed in on the cache. Another oldie! Thanks for this one!
I’m visiting from Brisbane and staying with friends in Cheltenham. I wanted to find the nearby oldie from 2000, so came in that way and continued on a walk in this lovely area.
Quick find of this cache which is in good condition. Great to see the original logbook and the last signature was in August 2022. Tftc

After a week at Lake Macquarie, I was on the long road home via Orange, so had an opportunity to pick up some older caches in Sydney to tick some boxes. A quick detour off the M2 had my daughter & I here & keen to stretch our legs. After a pleasant walk through the bush, we made a quick find before hitting the road again. TFTC.
What a great first experience. I loved this geocache so much such a cool game. If your looking for it don’t give up. -K and S
I was working nearby and we were waiting for some final things to be done.. So I decided to go for a stroll.
Very cool trail! When I'm not restricted by work I'd like to come explore this a little more.
Anyway, I spot a few hiding spots but the camo gave it away (seasoned geocachers would know)
TFTC
It's all in good condition

Saw this nearby whilst walking in the valley. Decided to scramble up the hill side and the route I chose turned this cache into a T4. When I hauled myself over the last lib required I was right on a bike trail which lead me directly to the cache.
Always good to pick up a classic 2 dogs cache, this one appears to have its original log still present - most impressive.

An afternoon of Covid safe caching in my own LGA. Five caches around Darling Mills Creek was todays target.
After 'High Adventure' this cache was next on my list. But from the creek I could not find a suitable shortcut to this cache. So instead I retraced my steps back along the creek to the cache car at Mill Drive. But close to the car I spotted a bicycle track, also going along the creek but at a higher level. So I followed the path and was happy to see the geocaching app counting down the distance to the cache until it showed 9 meters and I had to get off the trail and it was time to find the cache.
After a short while of inspecting possible hiding places, the tucked away cache was found.

Being Anzac Day I thought it appropriate to swap the soldier out of the jungle and left choc chip cookies and cream ( no Anzac bikkies on me today)
Wow ! What an excellent trek along that escarpment.
Thanks for this Cache. It is is excellent condition. Agree 2/2 from Lara but from the bottom of the creek 3.5/3.5.
As I was searching a guy came riding past on a mountain back and headed down the track ! Brave ! It’s a 60 m drop.
The other day I tried to get here from High Adventure on the other side of the Ravine, so close yet couldn’t find a track.
I followed the bike rider, I hope his life Insurance is paid up as there are 3 very steep 3 meter drops on the way down, some excellent caves and you need to do a big loop down to the creek and back west to get to High Adventure on the Marri- Yanni track. So although it’s only 170m over there, it is 1.6km on a pretty good trail to High Adventure that is not on any mapping app that I have.
I’ll post a pic from Run Keeper.
Fav point for this walk. I took “The Gov Ner” Hotwheels car for my grandson (that’s my story) !

I’m on the wrong approach I think from High Adventure. The jungle is as thick as Borneo from the creek up.
Just got home and read some notes on the photos;
"Some geocachers have tried to approach 'Lip Lapper' from 'High Adventure' and reported major difficulties. The correct route is simple and will take you only about five minutes! The entrance to the reserve is quite wide, paved with concrete, and located between two houses on Larra Crescent. I parked across the street by the roadside. No-one was about at midday, no-one bothered me, and no dogs barked! I just skipped down the trail to the edge of the cliffs . . ."
I'll be back.

First cache for a few weeks on what we thought was going to be a cooler day. Safe to say the hills and heat made this one of our sweatier finds. Nice little cache!
Came to the local area just for a walk, ended up sitting up on a rock for a while watching the cockatoos fly around me and drink from the puddle next to me
Eventually I got up to find the cache, I met up with adventure-fox and on to a bush walk we went. Once locating GZ, had a quick look around and boom there it was
Thank you for the hide, also left king camel on his pedestal (See Adventure-Fox’s photo)

I was out walking around the lake with a friend and when I was done I called BarberBlackSheep and turns out he was in the area! So we met up to find some of the caches in this nice little pocket.
What a nice stroll through the bush, really loved the vibes here! We found nearby High Adventure a month ago but couldn't quite reach here so it was good to come back and grab it! Took the camel out and made an inukshuk for him haha

I’d like to say i had a nice stroll through the bush to get to this cache but I unfortunately selected the wrong entry point and ended up bush bashing a fair distance to get to it.
I approached the cache from below and ended up having to make my own step up to get over the titular lop of the cliff.
Once at the GZ it took me only a couple of minutes to locate the cache.
Despite the exertion i still enjoyed being out in the bush for a while.
The container is in good condition and the log is dry.
Thanks.

Tftc. Nice one to finish a few caches in the valley this morning. Nice to be in Bush so close to houses
Just dropping off Thor TB and Hello World little plane TB to continue their journey. Last visited this cache 9 yrs ago and with my memory a bit faded as well as the bush land growth over the years I eventually found it. All is well with the cache.
Located at 7:59am. Another classic 2 Dogs cache found and logged. I took a T4 approach to this cache after finding and logging the nearby High Adventure cache. The morning was picturesque and perfect for Geocaching before work. I may have time for one more find Спасибо! תודה! L’chaim! TFTC!
After trying and failing at Alexandras Crashpad I was determined to find this one so I followed the track back up to the rear of the houses and walked along to find a possible track in . At 120mtrs to go I found a track but it soon headed away from GZ. Back up and keep looking, nothing until I was 300mtrs away and a clear track led into the bush. A few steps in and it too swung away from GZ. Ok head back until I only had a 120 mtr bush bash. Getting to within 30 mtr of GZ I found a well worn track heading straight to GZ. A quick search had CIH. Now to follow the track to only to find I was back at the 300mtr track found earlier. 10mtrs more down the track there was a seide track that would have saved the bush bash.
Love the views from GZ and the track.
Thanks for the cache.

Wow this took far longer then it should have. Many wind paths taken before we finally find the right one. Then at gz we again went about it the wrong way but eventually master Q spotted it
He had a ball going through the cache and we swopped some toys.

After finding Alexandra's crash pad I had time for a couple more so headed this way.
I'm not sure why I found it so difficult but it ended up as pretty big bush bash for me with a lot of zig zagging.
Once at GZ my approach from an odd angle meant I spotted the container straight away.....phew.
Another bush bash and I found the path that would take me back to the road.
It really felt like I was out in the wilds at times !

TFTC Thank you for going to the effort of hiding this cache. You have shown us a new place and have helped make geocaching an enjoyable activity. Cache in excellent condition.
After finding Alexandra's Crashpad we were actually aiming for High Adventures, but we didn't find a path from this side to that side. It looks like one has to descend into the valley and then climb out the other side. Perhaps there is a way -- the map on my GPSr even shows a track, but it didn't correspond with what we were experiencing on the ground. No worries, we'd just follow some path along the edge of the forest and see where that went.
The path looked very promising for finding this cache, so I kept on heading in the general direction. Before long we were at GZ and the real hunt began. There were a few potential spots, none of which panned out. I made a larger sweep of the area and on that wider circle I spotted what looked like some likely stones that would be concealing the container. Yes, correct deduction -- I had the cache in hand.
When I looked at the last last entry in the log book I thought that the last finder had inadvertently written 2016 instead of 2017. But when I checked on the app on my phone I saw that this cache has not been found in more than a year. Wow, considering its easy location and its good size, that's kinda surprising. I guess one can never predict how popular a cache will be and what cachers go for when looking for the next one.
I'm glad to report that all is well with the cache. I concluded my signing duties and added one of my signature small wire dogs. Who knows how long the little fellow might languish in this cache, but that's just how the game goes sometimes.
We packed up everything and rehid the container where it had been. Then we started making our way to the next cache along this ridge, following the easy path which was heading in the right direction.

Approached from a nearby puzzle cache and kept my elevation high. Closer to GZ I stumbled onto some tracks (MTB?) that weren't showing on OpenCycleMaps. Followed one of these tracks and found cache very close by.
Seems that a local colony of ants have made their home inside the container (lid was not fully closed). I carefully emptied all of the contents, returning only the appropriate items. Otherwise container and log are in good condition. Very cool to find another The 2 Dogs caches - wasn't expecting that. Returned container to its hiding spot and made my way down to the creek crossing.

This cache used to be in my closest 30 to home when I first started caching until my home area got flooded with caches. Now that I have cleaned out my area except for the difficult mystery puzzles, Lip Lapper has once again popped up in my closest 30 caches to home. Brought the geodogs so they could stretch their legs and they had a ball in the bush. I struggled to find the track but finally found it on my third track. Once I got to GZ I pondered where to start and eventually took a step down, still not sure where I was going to look I turned around and saw the tell all sign of a clump of rocks keeping a secret. Spent the morning in the bush with Brezy picking up a few caches.
Lots of people out bouldering nearby. Beautiful bit of bushland that I hadn't been in before. Got close to GZ, but figured we were on the wrong level, after readjusting soon had CIH.

18/07/15. 2:37 PM. Cache #2696. Streak day #391.
A fairly cold afternoon, but a welcome break from the rain of the last 2 days. I had already saved EdF's suggested trail-head as a waypoint, so I parked at Raine Ave, where I saw a track that led to this. That track was easy to follow, as was EdF's track along the rock ledges.
Once at GZ, the find was easy. In fact this was so quick this way, that I decided to do a 2nd cache for the afternoon, so I returned to the car, drove around to Excelsior oval, and looked for "Under Stone". TFTC - love these old school 2 Dogs caches.

A great morning walk with geodoggie in the forest. A good time of year to bring her to minimize exposure to all the nasty critters. A great mixture of old and not so old caches.
I am always up for an old cache and 2 Dogs are generally a must find. This was no exception, from GZ there was no hint of civilisation in any direction, the only clue was the hum of the M2 in the distance. Very serene.
I found a path leading back to the top that avoided any bush bashing at all. You can begin at this waypoint: S 33 45.595 E 151 00.808

Whoops - this was actually the one we DIDN'T find.
Tried crossing the creek from High Adventure, this was successful, however in the sopping mucky bush with flowing river beside there was not much chance of getting any further towards geozone. Trust me, we tried. But after I scrambled about trying to find a non-existent path and ended up getting my pants scraped with brown right before we were seeing friends for lunch and almost fell off some dodgy vegetation beside rocks we decided to give it a miss. Good thing we did because even without finding this or anything else afterwards we arrived at the family friends' just on time.
Thanks anyway 2 Dogs

We crossed the creek at the nearby cache and climbed up. We soon came across a track which got us close. But, we had to get up a level. While my youngest son helped my middle son on the ledge I made the find. Teenagers, you're too slow! We then had a tricky descent and creek crossing.

Tried to access this one from both sides of the creek, no success....treacherous little walk. Will try again.
I made my way down the slope. Crunching sticks and waving webs out of the way.
A nice apot for a cache. As I scanned the area for possible places I spotted the hide and found the cache.
On my trek back to the car a small dog was softly barking at me from its yard. The owner was trying to call it back and appologising for it. I have two sparking dogs at home that make MUCH more noise alone. Done worry. I barely paid attention to that dog.

Sure I picked the hardest route to get to this!! Thoroughly enjoyed the walk/climb/scramble. Tftc
We had a great bush bashing day as we bush bashed our way all through the park. We parkoured our way up some narrow gaps and lifted our way up to this cache. Great little cache. TFTC!!!
I was tempted to have a go at this a couple of weeks ago when I came in for High Adventure but looked at the terrain and decided there had to be an easier way. My patience paid off as I found a much easier route this time around.

I was going to attack this one from the east but due to the terrain I thought I would keep walking and look for High Adventure first. Lucky I did because further up the track at the creek crossing I found my way quiet easily through the bush to GZ. Once there the cache didn't take long to spot. TFTC

We wanted a little bit of a walk and a few caches as well. We parked close to Shape Confusion and headed in on the track behind the houses to the triangle shaped area. We had a nervous moment on the track down as we passed a 5 ft black snake very close to use. Luck it just slithered away from us so after this we had our eyes peeled as this was the first snake we had seen of the season. Once at GZ we started cautiously with the search after the recent encounter but soon found the hid after a quick search. We completed the signing duties and dropped in a travel bug just as we saw some other cachers approaching (nice to meet you). We offered to re hide so their kids could make the find. TFTC
Next we headed back along the track to Lip Lapper. We read some logs and having done some 2 Dogs caches before we knew we have to do a light bush bash and via off at about 100m to go. We took it noisy and slow give the snake on the track and soon got to a little area and found a typical 2 Dogs hid. We completed the signing duties and dropped on a Geo coin before re hiding. We where then going to head for High Adventure down in the valley but the phone rang so had to head home. TFTC

After a bit of a bush bash across from Shape Confusion, we finally made the find.
Sat and had a snack & a drink, before more bashing to get back across to high adventure. I'm sure there must have been a better way, or maybe not!
Took the GeoCoin & will pass on soon.

I had had enough after high adventure but waterfist thought we could cut straight up from the creek. After a pretty tiring climb we got to GZ. Fortunately cache spotted quickly. Trekked through light scrub back to Lara Cr.
Nice quick & easy find after an awesome stroll into the amazing bush! What a great landscape right in the middle of suburbia. TNLNSL / TFTC
0950 GAFF1 After finding a High Adventure I progresses across and up to this one. Having 'cut my teeth' on some of the 2 Dog caches around Hornsby and Crosslands (back in 2007) I was prepared for the Terrain to be a bit harder than the cache'a rating of '2'! Sure enough, got up to a reasonable level, and only a short search was needed as the coordinates were good.
Dry and intact. Sharpened the pencils, and left a blue pen.
Brought through for mileage: 3 Bros, Aussie Nomad, Aust Light Houses, BEAGLE BIXBY, B 2 B ingot, BROWN BEAR 15, Fishing Bell TB, GoLeo Travel Bug Dog Tag, Homer J TB, Iconic Bridges, Lil' Miss TB, cache critters Baa, Neigh Neddy, and Oink, PAP, Trakabulldog geocoins, Travel Hard TB, and trackable shirt.

The 'high' track from 'Shape Confusion' (ie near the houses) was a fairly quick & easy way to this cache.
Approaching GZ, was looking for a lip - and after a short search, dropped down a level for a better look up. That tactic worked wonders as the camo was spotted very quickly from the different perspective.
That's another 2 Dogs cache down.
Great view from GZ as well.

First cache after a long break. Track is hard to find, so basically bush-bashed from Larra drive.
It's a nice cache in a good spot though - so I'll give it a favourite.

Found it on a pleasant winter Sunday. The hardest part was finding a way to GZ as there is no defined track here. We had to bush bash to GZ but the cache was found very quickly. TFTC
I considered heading to this one straight after High Adventure but it soon became clear that it was much higher up the ridgeline so I went back to my car on Mill Drive and went to the entrance on Larra Cresc. There are past references to a track but I couldn't find one so I just walked through the light scrub staying well clear of the long grass. At gz, the cache was found hidden in typical 2 Dogs fashion. Took TB. Thanks yet again 2 Dogs.
What a fantastic little hidden bit of suburban bushland! Thanks for the reason to come here, even on a drizzly day! TFTC
We went looking for this cache on a whim after dark – bush bashing with torches added to the excitement. We're still kind of new to geocaching, but found it relatively easily. Thanks for the cache!
I was in Epping early and decided to make a detour on my way home to pick up the three caches that I and the ClazzA team did not have time to do during our walk through the beautiful Bidjigal Reserve last July. This one was the first I attempted. I went in from Larra Crescent and found the route fairly undemanding, especially as the undergrowth has not yet fully recovered from the controlled burn of September last year. Once at GZ it did not take long to discover the hide. SL TNLN TFTC
In failing light, was concerned that I might not make it to this one in time.
Kept going along the path after High Adventure, but GPS told me I was going furthur away and that I was on the wrong side of the river, so walked back.
Crossed the river and walked/clambered uphill through burnt bush for a long time (Getting very dirty, wet and muddy) before finding a trail. From here on, followed the trail for about fifty metres before I had to go off track again, clambering over rocks in the rain.
Finally got pretty close and started searching. Only took a few minutes before I spotted a likely location and sure enough it was there! Was really worried I wouldn't find it as there were so many spots, so I practically jumped for joy when the spot was found.
Signed, left something, and started heading back in the dark on a random barely used trail. Was concerned that I was lost, but eventually it linked up with the original trail.
Thanks for the cache!

Found eventually after creek crossing. I have included Coordinates for the burnt out path entry.

It SURVIVED!!! After long looking we have finally found it and gratefully it isnt harmed from the control burning, tucked away safely. Harder to find as there are no tracks just burnt wreckage. If you are going to go now be careful of the burnt branches DON'T TOUCH in case they collapse. Swapped Motorcycle toy with Action Figure. TFTC!!!
Hi All, Please be advise that this area was subject to a preventative controlled burn by the Fire Service yesterday. There is a chance this cache may have been destroyed in the process. The Fire Service have advised that the burnt bushland should not be entered for two weeks as many trees have been weakened by the fire and may fall over at any time. It may be worth checking if the cache is ok after this time.

Parked too far away and trekked down first ally way and followed track behind houses. 100m trek into bushland and found nicely hidden. Took Germouse TB.
After reading of much misfortune in earlier logs, I tried a very direct approach. Followed a drain chennel for only a few metres into the bush and landed on a vague track that went most of the way to GZ - no real bush-bashing needed. The GPS wanted to go down a bit further, but a quick glance nearby found the hide. Dropped Geomouse TB. TFTC
Reperio at 1610.
Attended the NSW Geocaching 101 event in Carlingford today, and with the weather perfect, I headed out with FarmerFrenzten to find a few caches. Headed off into the scrub, and enjoyed the nice walk down, apart from landing a few cobwebs in the face, and soon spotted the lip, and a moment later, the cache. Love bush caches.

Our second cache of the night and decided to bush bash from one of the side streets, big mistake!!! Dense forest and absolutely pitch black it took us more than an hour to reach GZ.
Very happy to find this one after the hard work getting there.
Good location and well hidden

Left Action Figure and took TB

Found with Marcus Vitruvius during a quick run following the Geocaching NSW 101 event.
After a relatively short bush bash down to GZ we discovered the lip and the prize. As is normally the case the walk out seemed a lot easier!
TNLN and thanks to The 2 Dogs for the cache.

Oh my! I headed to this straight from high adventure - found a spot to cross the stream, and then bushwacked up the bank over the boulders towards the cache, thinking I would dearly have loved to find the T2 way in!! On the way up I encountered some golden orb weaving spiders - now, I HATE spiders, but even I had to admit that their webs were stunning glittering gold in the afternoon sun! Finally got to the top, but then it was a prickly bushwack to GZ. Spotted the hide quickly.....and then a prickly bushwack out again...250m later and I found a rather lovely path! I suspect that was the intended route to the cache as it brought me out at the top of the little green by 'Shape Confusion' cache. TFTC x
A bit of a bush bash and a climb from the other side of the creek. But, came out bang on - there it was. TFTC
Been meaning to get this cache off the list for sometime and with Geoson playing Cricket on the other side of the gully made sense to go for it. Followed some sort of track down to near GZ and searched the most likely spot and voila, CIH.
These sort of caches fit into my criteria of favorite points (Bushwalking). So a favorite point from me. TFTC

Talk about a leg shredder! After brushing through a few spiders webs, we came up trumps. Not as much fun as I had hoped. TFTC.....I think.
Was on the other side of a fast flowing creek when going for this one. I found a way across the creek right near the junction of another creek just down from high adventure. From there it was a short climb up between the rocks to the cache. Spotted it very quickly TFTC
