As there's been no cache to find for months, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us, and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.

Glad we weren't going crazy then Spanner. We will claim a 'find' as per Spanners email but will head back after it has be reset. Thanks for acting on it so fast Team Spanner.

Wig Wag has definitely gone missing. Team Hurtle proved they were in the right place. I'll have a rethink and either replace it or set a new one up there. Sorry Sad

Alas, we searched everywhere, but kept coming back to the first place!! Believe that we can see the 'holder' for the container, but no container. [:(!] Took a pic which we'll send on to Team Spanner to prove the 'find'. It's not too far from where we live, so hopefully it will be back soon? Probably be best in another location though, so it doesn't get muggled again? [:(!]

Found this a little prickly for our first cache. Took a reflector and left a shoo - roo due to proximity to National Park.

Cheers and out,

Sixth of eleven finds on my first day in Adelaide. It was raining steadily, so I got wet as a shag while doing this one. However, I did take time to check out the wig-wag signal. I didn't think we had them in Australia--I've only seen them in US movies and TV. I must ask my brother; he's a train driver.

I picked it in one, but didn't really believe it would be there, so I only gave it a cursory search. I looked elsewhere, but the GPSr kept pointing me to my first guess. I had a proper look this time and nabbed the cache at 1425. I'm glad there were no muggles around (the rain was good for something); it would have been a nightmare retrieving this one if there were. I made no exchange--I was just happy to get back to the sanctuary of the car. Thanks to Team Spanner for the cache.

Our first cache with the new GPS. Found fairly easily, although well hidden. Muggles everywhere so had to be a little sneaky. Took dinosaur and left nail brush. A good start.

07-Aug-05
Set out this morning determined to bag some caches. Closest ones first. Spent some time hunting around the Wig Wag before checking the GPSr to find it was not where we were looking.
Trusted the hardware and soon located the cache.
Took the green ball, left the splat ball.

Nine geocachers watching this cache - that's impressive! We're not the first to log a visit today, either. Grabbed cache with a pair of inquisitive muggles peering furtively from nearby station. Are there any trains running on a Sunday, or have they been waiting since yesterday? Maybe another geocacher ready for the pounce - we'll wait and see.... Cheers!

24-Jul-05
Found at 15:10.
Only Mr. Uni and the dog today - couldn't get any other takers at home. Found easily, but those muggles pop up out of nowhere. Now swaps. Thanks Team Spanner.

Nice little find... B

03-Jul-05

[Excellent hide Spanner.

Had to take the cache for a 20min walk around the park cause muggles showed up and we could not get it back safely.

Glad I always have] a set of gardening gloves [in the geo pack. Needed them on this occasion.

Found it with DJOT; his first cache.
TNLNSL.
Spent some time looking around the "wig-wag" Smile

22-Jun-05
Rainy day, took frog, left ball and cowrie shell. Still bleeding!

18-Jun-05
Found by Mary & David at 1715 in the rapidly fading light. Excellent and great fun. Loved the wig-wag. Mary remembers seeing one in action in country Victoria as a child. Do hope they restore the historic buildings. Took red 3-wheeler bike, left parrot finger puppet. Our thanks again to Team Spanner.

Dam those muggles we hit GZ at the same time and where do they sit? Right near where we wanted to be, and boy they were watching us!
We looked around and they were still staring at us it felt a little weird just how closely, so we went back to the car and made coffee and they left very soon after.
We retrieved the cache signed it and then waited for the train to leave and more muggles to pass before replacing it.
Thanks Team Spanner and a very clever hiding spot!
Regards Mr.Coffee and the “M’mm might have to try something similar in Melbourne†Coffee Clan.

Nearly gave up and then I remembered that I should think like a "cacher". Wink Found it no probs after that. Thanks very much Team Spanner.

29-May-05
The GPS had me going all over the place and then appeared to settle down but I still couldn't work out why it pointing there. I resorted to changing the batteries hoping for something different but no, then (D'Oh!) I read the logsRed Face. That's very clever but for someone that's 6'4' it was not an easy replace I'm just glad there was no-one watching. T Sticket L Reflector. Thanx.

24-May-05
Our fist night Cache and was found easily, only our 5th but we are hooked!

21-May-05
Oh how very clever well done !!! Kids thought an excellent hide.

18-May-05
Perfect timing. Midday on a weekday. Not a muggle to be seen the whole time I undertook the necessary short search, retrieval, appropriate paperwork and replacement. Good quick grab. TNLNSL. Cheers.

Discovered this one this afternoon, after a brief search. Very innovative method to attach the cache ... very impressive! Smile Not a muggle in sight, so easily logged.

Left: Voyager mini board game
Took: Super Ball

Thanks!

We thought that geocaching would be a great activity for such a splendous day so decided to get some more of the 'local' caches. We grabbed this one after a bit of searching. Quite intriging really, nice clever find!! Luckily, being a Saturday, no trains and no muggles.. TNLN

Found with Cached on a day out together.
Swapped Fridge magnet for Pooh bear figure.
Cache has an interesting story about this cache.

02-Apr-05
Well, this one nearly cost me!

Found the cache easy enough - clever job guys.

Put the GPS on a post to settle. Found the cache. Did the swaps (whatever they were.....) moved on to the next cache in the National Park.

We get out of the vehicle at this point. Getting ready for the walk in to Hogsmead.

No GPS. I say "I'm looking for the GPS" Parrots say "I've got one" I say the problem is not that I don't have one, but that I Don't have one. Its' not here.

Short trip back to Wig Wag and there is was - phew - coz it wasn't actually mine either.

Thanks

27-Mar-05
Our 100th cache. 2 working muggles nearby but no trains with passengers today. Found fairly easily - no scratches out or in. Hiker muggle walked by while we were writing the log. Took Kangaroo and left Koala. Thanks Team Spanner.

PS we used to call these wig wags when we were kids because that is what they did!

I didn’t see any old relics around (unless you count the caretaker Big Grin ) so I’m none the wiser as to what a Wig Wag (or even a Wing Wong) is? Red Face Read the most recent logs, and got confused, especially when my first GZ had me between the train tracks. “That can’t be right,†thought I. Then I realised that I was dealing with Belair’s notoriously bad sat-lock properties. Just as the penny dropped, and the logs finally made sense, and the GPSr correctly ID’ed GZ, a train arrived Sad and it seemed to take an age for the occupants to disperse into the park so I could make good my discovery. Retreated to a nearby bench to do the log ‘thing’ and was then sprung by the caretaker who thought he was talking to a train enthusiast and wanted to know if I’d got any good photos or train numbers. I think I mumbled something that probably confused him and then his attention was drawn to a far easier target – some numpty kitted out in a full parachute-pants tracksuit. They chose to wile the time away right in front of me and it was some time before I could replace the cache. Took the Iceland TB and left a couple of bottles of wine Wink Thanks for an interesting diversion Team Spanner

16-Mar-05
Found in the company of Mtbikeroz, my brother, my Husband & I on our Road Trip from Canberra to SA & back again for Dads 50th Birthday celebrations.
Great fun was had by all
(Found with Dad, now I have my own name and I WAS with him for this one!)

16-Mar-05
Had fun looking around the Old station, eventually found it hanging off a hook! Twisted
Took fairy, left motorbike.

Also left Icelandic TB - Coooeeee off we went.

08-Mar-05
Found by Team GeoCoopers.
No working bee on with tonights visit. So we returned to search where we had found GZ to be the other day. Bingo ... And only got bitten on one of my fingers [B)].
Thanks Team Spanner,

08-Mar-05
Never thought that train enthusiasts would hamper our efforts at finding a cache. Just what were they doing over the other side of the tracks with a camera on a tripod pointed right at us.... made it very hard not to look suspicious. As a result of trying to look casual, the hidey holes did indeed bite very hard. Took roller stamp and left a finger puppet.

06-Mar-05
We always called them "Wing Wongs". I think it rhymes with ding dong. Might not be PC though. Perhaps it is because we are from north of the city.

Got bitten on the way in. And again on the way out.

27-Feb-05
Found it @ approx. 18:00

Found it on my 2nd attempt. It helps if there's enough daylight to see by!!!!

I agree with the last finder, the hidey hole does bite hard, I've got the injuries to prove it.

Took puzzle
Lefct roller stamp/eraser

Thanks Team spanner.

26-Feb-05
Now I know what a wigwag is! It must be a South Australian term lost on this (originally) NSW boy. Clever hide, luckily a slow freight train arrived to hield most of the business from the platform muggles. Thanks

20-Feb-05
The GPS was definitely acting up today but we found it relatively easily. TheNavigatrix would like to point out that the hodey-hole bites - HARD. Sad
Took sea-horse and left a globe.

14-Feb-05
Found by Skippy and Gunnell on our way to club meeting, Found within minutes.
TNLN

Thanks Team Spanner

12-Feb-05
[Found this one easily with Miray. Quite a nice location, complete with bush-fire victim. Joilion visited the cache and made friends with the little girl and the pink sea horse, but was worried about a report that once the container was not too well hidden ]also lions, unlike tigers cannot climb trees!

[So I left a pair of Chinese folding scissors and took a red and yellow dinosaur.]

12-Feb-05
Nice one Spanners. Lets hope this place can be restored to better than its former glory soon. Took whistle and left rubber.
Clear skies, Astro.

12-Feb-05
Beautiful day to do some caching in this very pleasant area. Found the cache quite easily and replaced it carefully. Took pen and left geocaching badge. Thanks team spanner.

11-Feb-05
I can just imagine getting on a train fifty years ago and coming here for a day out in the park with the family on a hot summers days.

Really good to see that soimeone has found a good hiding place here - we tried a few months ago and couldnt come up with anything.

Took caching badge, left a pewter fairy.

Many thanks

Found it quite quickly, but the sat lock was terrible, which must be unusual for this location. I also asked some grizzled old railway types and found out what a wig-wag is. Thanks to Team Spanner for filling in the gaps in my trivia knowledge.

08-Feb-05
Well - this was too easy. Walked up to the general area to find a container sitting in the middle of the grass. Luckily it seems we weren't too far behind Richary to save this one before a muggle found it. Everything was still intact. Logged the find and tried to place the container where we thought it should have been. Even after trying to keep it there, it looks like it might fall out again. May need a designer container for this one. Took Nothing, Left Nothing. Cheers.

05-Feb-05
Fairly easily found, took a yoyo and left a whistle. While writing in the log a muggle pulled up about 20m away so I had to put the container in the bag and return to the car. Luckily while I was checking the map on how to get to the next one he decided to leave.

Thanks Team Spanner.

04-Feb-05
An easy find. Very poor GPS coverage today. Pity about the buildings. Seem to remember coming here by train decades ago to go to the park. Took a marker and left a seahorse.

Nice first cache Spanner - about time Razz

04-Feb-05
Easy find on the way home from work.

Since i was running late for work the day that this cache appeared, i wasnt able to get my first virgin, and as such had to give this virgin up to my uncle.

Once at GZ the name gave it away, and the cache was mine within seconds.

Haven't been to this place for years. Nice hid e, in the first place I looked. Dont you love that, it doesnt happen very often! Took the multitool, left a beverly hills scene and a golf ball. Cheers

02-Feb-05
After e-mailing the nephew I thought that I couldn't let him get it before me so a different route home was in order.
I was only just up this way a couple of days ago doing another cache. Didn't think that I would be here again so soon.
Too easy to find the cache and it must have been fun setting up.
Tn Left Multitool.
Cheers from Posspet Boys
