We couldn’t leave this old cache placement while up here enjoying Nangar NP on this glorious sunny day despite the road access now been cut off with a parks ‘Road Closed’ gate! So we done a u-turn and made our way to the walking track for the 5.4 km return walk.
What started as a flat slippery walk with many creek crossings soon turned to a steep rocky walk of an elevation climb of over 200 metres.
The views were amazing making the extreme walk well worth it, especially as there was a cache to sign as well.
Many photos were taken before making the return trip back to the car.

Thanks MSMACKA for the awesome location placement.

In Eugowra for the NSW orienteering champs. After today's event I visited the Nangar National Park to attempt the caches here before dark. Cache soon found, after a fun drive up. I was expecting to have to walk here, but the road was open and perfectly doable in my AWD. Great view. TFTC.

10-Mar-21
We made the walk/climb up the walking track. Quite challenging in parts and avoiding thistles in other parts. Once at the lookout we retrieved the cache without too much trouble then spent some time enjoying a snack, drink and view, but not the giant flies. Unfortunately a bit hazy today but still a great view. Spotted a couple of circling eagles, but unfortunately they didn't hang around for long.

While BL was collecting some rubbish the original log book was found under a suspicious pile of rocks. It was being used as a Non-geocaching visitor's book ! We replaced it in the cache.
Cache is in fair condition at GZ, still playing a tune. Enjoyed the great views from this beaut vantage point

Wow. What a stunning view. Well worth the effort getting here. The track is in really good condition and an easy drive for a 4wd or Awd with plenty of clearance.

Stunning views and an enjoyable drive up here before setting up camp nearby for the night. Amazing how many different types of wallabies, roos, and wallaroos we spotted on the drive. Lots of goats too. A beautiful NP to camp with so much wildlife. TFTC

Quick find at this stunning lookout. Tftc. Btw - top container!

11-Mar-16
Sea Reason and I found this nice container, and we were going to have a dance, but we didn't have our pumps with us and the ground was somewhat rocky.
We walked here from Dripping Rock, on a really, really, REALLY hot day. Phew! Sea Reason rummaged in the container, but we don't remember having seen a geocoin. If somebody took a small pair of pliers or similar with them, some repairs could easily be done to the lid which looks as though it's suffered a blow and can not be s=considered weather-proof. TFTC MSMACKA.

Found on a nice and sunny day after a short 1.5 hours walk from the parking area. Usually we are picking pumpkins close to Canowindra but today we had a day off and apart from hiking there are not many things you can do in this area. So thank you very much for showing us this place Smile

Wowzers that's a view!

20-May-14
Ha, ha, ha; when you arrive at GZ you will quickly discover that the 'hint' is telling you nothing much at all, however the cache was soon in hand. Turning the 'key' was a pleasant conclusion to a good cache, although it's perhaps not as hard as the ratings would suggest. TFTC TN and left a weroamin token.

20-May-14
Found the cache in the company of weroamin at a great location, loved the container, did not notice a geocoin in there but wasn't really looking for one. TFTC

I had been sitting at camp last night out near Eugowra and wondering what to do today Razz
Something relaxing,
not too taxing Razz

A trio of caches in the nearby Nangar NP intrigued me !!

Well after a scramble,
er, short, relaxing stroll up a steep rocky slope,
and a drive to a not dripping place,
it was time to chase this cache Razz

I found where the walking track started,
just up the road from "High Drip".
So with the geomobile parked in a shady spot,
I headed off up the hill on foot Big Grin

Oh what a fantastic place for a walk.
After so many weeks of chasing caches,
by car and on bike,
It was so nice to get out and actually .... hike [^]

After crossing a few meadows,
the trail wandered along a gully for a while.
Then off up the hill it went.
Reaching the Eagle's Nest was quite a climb.
As befitting the name ... of course Big Grin

A while later and I reached the eyrie.
Wow !! What a great spot !! Smile
Thankfully there were no 4WD's or dirt bikes rampaging across the landscape today Razz
And so I could truly appreciate the view [^]

I set about finding the cache first,
just in case the muggles turned up [:o]
Which they never did !!

With the logbook signed,
I read the signs,
and sat down to enjoy a midmorning lunch of crusty bread rolls, packed with thick slices of tinned ham Razz
A fizzy cola was on hand to wash it down.
Oh does life get any better ??

Nup !!!

I sat around and kept an eye out for eagles, or peregrines, or any of the 11 raptors that call this place home.
None seen [:o]

I did spy an Airbus A380 soaring overhead on descent to Sydeney !!
It was leaving a speccy contrail, or as conspiracy theroists say, "chem-trail".
Well that makes up for the lack of avian fauna any day Razz

Fave time dance !!!! Big Grin

And after all that ....
I noticed the gap in the rock wall that some twits in a 4WD had taken a lot of effort to construct.
Time to extract some revenge Twisted
And with a large bit of timber to use as a lever,
I enjoyed rolling the large boulders down off the pile and into the gap the 4WD idiots had created.
That fun was the icing on the cake Razz
Next twit who wants to park next to the picinic tables and build a raging bonfire in the middle of OUR National Park will have to roll the rocks back out of the way Razz

Easy to find. Took a while absorbing the awesome view.

02-Oct-12
As we were in the area again we decided to check all the caches around us. Having found this one before it was an easy find again and remains safe and sound. Hid a new one ourselves down the road at Dripping Rock.

26-Aug-12
Awesome drive and look out, well hidden.

28-Apr-12
Great views, and a nice walk. Done as a one way walk from the High Drip, with car shuffle organised for the way back. Geokids loved the box. TFTC

Found nice and quickly. Wow, what great views and how lucky were we, two wedgetails soaring just out from the cliff top, unbelievable! Thanks for taking us here MSMACKA, this is one of our favourites. Smile

Went for a day trip for lunch with the family. Showed the niece how to hunt for the goods. She was so proud to be the one to find it. Was a good day with a camp fire lunch and yabbying with our hands in the creek

11-Jan-12
Started to do the walking trek to this one but the Geo-kids got tired very quick, so we drove up to it instead.
Great View.TFTC
There was another log before us but it does not seem to be legit & the geocoin was not there.

We had the kids with us, so after seeing the terrain rating, didn't set out to find this one, having already found two for the day we were feeling good, but then found this spectacular place, and the gps was saying that we were close by, so we searched and found it quickly.

We took the trusty Rodeo to this one. We were camping in Nangar for three days and this was a great drive on day two. We did not see Eagles today but had seen a couple the day before from our camp site. Very hot for all thre days (40 at times) but loved every minute of this trip. Thanks for placing a cache in such a beautiful place. TNLN TFTC. Geoson made the actual find as he has a knack for hides such as this.

We let the Toyota do the hard work to get to this one. It was a pretty good track to the top of the mount. Wow what a view from this location. We loved it and took lots of photos. We also had to do the "oh what a feeling" leap with the melodious sounds eminating from the cache. Took Travel bug and Left geocoin and the box of cable fasteners. Thanks MSMACKA.

27-Mar-08
We were so lucky picking today to go for a drive. The weather was just awesome and not a muggle in the park. Took us a little bit to find the right road to this one, but after some persaverence we found it easy enough. We bought trust Henry the Hilux for this one so the drive in was a breeze.
I went and enjoyed the stunning views with my trusty digital while the other Smelly did the cache thing.
Thanks for showing us this most amazingly beautiful area.

Amazing view but quite a walk if you leave your car at dripping rock. It is about 2k but be prepared for lots of steep bits! As we were coming back down we did indeed see an eagle circling high above the area so it's aptly named!

Thanks Mick, good one.

Grabbed Crazy Cow to start her journey.

11-Aug-07
Wow, what a view. If only I could fly. The eagles were at rest but could see that this would be on their top 10 list.

What an awesome cache. We really enjoyed the drive to the hight point that holds this very cool cache. The Pres and I did a little waltz to Hi5 before signing the log. Have some pics too. The views were splendid. No swaps.

Thanx MSMACKA, great cache.
