I had a bit of trouble with the S location, so contacted a previous finder and then realised I put the minute figures in the wrong spot. Then off to the cache with who was twitching and identified several birds including a Black faced cuckoo shrike. TFTC

Did some birding for Birdlife Australia while icw signed the log. I also visited a TB.

What a fun place to explore! Another excellent place discovered through caching. Based on the last DNF, I was worried about this one, but after making the calculations, I made my way to GZ. I took the wrong slippery path up the hill and then saw the kangaroo track back out. If you're looking for this one, go a bit further down for a safer path to GZ. Thanks for the shortish multi in a brilliant area!

I don't know if there was something wrong with my sums or with my searching, but I couldn't find this cache today.I'll come back again another time. Thanks, Long John Silva

I must have got my sums right, as I found the cache thanks.

I needed to find a multi cache today in order to fill in a missing calendar date for [RoamingHowie's](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=24963346-56c5-4daf-8308-a01f60f5a5ba&wid=6a725450-9b6f-4892-abca-126a7026759c&ds=2) [WCW - 95% Multi Calendar Challenge (GC9Z59M)](https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC9Z59M), so when I finally got a break I couldn't miss the opportunity to sneak away and grab this one.I can see why now this cache was placed here all those years ago, this location was absolutely perfect and it made for a beautiful walk today. The history of the area was quite fascinating and it was lovely to explore the old mines along the way.I was initially a bit confused when I was trying to calculate the Southerly, but went with my best guess and my calculated coordinates seemed logical, so I was off. Luckily they turned out to be correct as they lead me straight to GZ and once I arrived it was a nice quick find before the cache was in hand and the logbook signed. I ended up picking up the [Green Paw (TB51X6C) trackable](https://www.geocaching.com/track/details.aspx?guid=b8189db6-05ef-4f29-9054-3fadb8e57744) from another cache the other day, but I will just "dip" it here and keep it moving.A big thanks goes to EdwardsClan for originally hiding this one and to [Long John Silve](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=d79a85d8-5899-4e55-bcd9-a1245a4d839a&wid=c96c4d5b-e81a-46e8-b229-af953559ee56&ds=2) for maintaining it now for me to find. TFTC.**Cache Maintenance Status**The cache container was in good shape. The inner contents were nice and dry and the logbook clean with plenty of room for future cache finders to sign.

On a rather impromptu caching adventure today with Brain out north to pick up a rather illusive and untouched D5 FTF that was still up for grabs at the time, so why not go out and pick up some other odds and ends in the area whilst I am at it. After clearing out some caches that we wanted to grab we found ourselves in this corner of the world, so with sunlight slowly deciding to go we made haste to pick off a couple caches in this reserve. Thanks for the cache and the awesome little walk through this reserve.

06-Dec-23
With a new D5 puzzle in Croydon secured earlier in the day, buhfuhguh and I took the opportunity to get me(!!!) driving around an area that I've been meaning to cache in for a while but has, until today, remained tantalisingly out of reach.Looking to vaguely head in the direction of home, I spotted an '01 multi on the map and decided to give it a go - turns out that, by the time we were done, we'd managed to finish just about everything in this patch of Warrandyte... except the '01 multi!A slight diversion on our way back down the hill took us to two AdLab stages as well as this '05 multi - not quite as old, but still pretty good! The numbers were sorted quickly, even with the switcheroo business, and a bit of a scramble up the hill took me to a likely hiding spot where the cache was found safely.Everything's in fine condition here, and a hesitant scramble back down the hill concluded this multi's proceedings! Thanks to EdwardsClan for originally placing this multi, and Long John Silva for maintaining it! Smile

Thanks LJS - a pretty big afternoon walk in the area hunting down the ad lab + bonus cache, three multi's and earth cache. I didn't have too much difficulty with any of the caches but holding all the information in my head and trying to work out the most efficient routes to conserve energy on this 31 degree day was a challenge.

14-Jul-23
Trying to calculate GZ had me in a Tizzzyyy I tried, came close but not close enough, and I eventually had to PAF. At GZ, I was again in a Tizzzyyy trying to locate this cache it was eventually found and signed. Enjoyed my afternoon trapieziing around while completing the Ad lab and the other caches in this area.

20-May-23
Wow what an adventure. Everything is still wet/damp from recent rain, and we mis-calculated GZ, after a look, we calculated correctly and found the prize. Thanks for the fun. The log is all good and dry.

19-Apr-23
I find doing multi's tricky in general but add in a geokid and an Adlabs and I really struggle! For this one it would have helped me if I read the hint first! Then when I did my calculations I made a little error with decimal points which incorrectly placed GZ at the other side of park. When I worked out my mistake 40mins later geokid had no inclination to head back to the correct co-ordinates in order to search. We'll have to come back to this another day!

15-Apr-23
I had a bit of trouble with this multi. Firstly, I did not read the information stating that you should read the hint. So I was searching in the wrong spot. Secondly, when I did read the hint, I found there were two interpretations. To subtract or to not subtract, that is the question. I searched at coordinates using the incorrect interpretation first, and found nothing. Bah! I then searched the coordinates using the correct interpretation and found the cache (thank goodness). I got there in the end and saw some interesting mining stuff on the way.

While I had planned to do the mega event in Whittlesea, I had also planned to include a couple of extra days either side for some caching. Then I get a call to come earlier and stay with a mate. Well, as things have changed a little personally it seemed like a great way to chill and have some catch up time with them.
We had been working around the house and today was a free day. I mentioned going for a walk in a couple of the national parks. Well I knew I needed a couple of caches for a date I was missing so off we went. What a great cache and the area it took us around was fantastic. It rained a few times while we walked around and the tracks got very slippery.

Got this one while chasing an old cache. We signed the new book and replaced all as found then headed off. Thanks for maintaining and keeping this one going.

This is became another cache crossed off the 'to find' list while staying over at my son's house to dog sit quite some time ago.
Thanks for walk and cache EdwardsClan

I was in the area so came past for a bit of a hike here. I want paying enough attention to the way my app did the math and I ended up adding instead of subtracting from the south. At my wrong gz, I realised my mistake and after recalculating the correct location, headed over there. In the end it took me twice as long to find the prize.
Thanks Long John Silva for the cache.

Accompanied with silence49. Back again because last time in 2019, had worked out but don't have time. Enjoyed walking around the bush. Plenty to see the historic. We had a great time finding your cache fav from me. Long John Silva, thank you so much for placing it.

17-Oct-21
It was decided that today would be the day that we would tackle some of the caches in this area. Great day for a walk in the park and it seems that quite a few people had the same idea. Our path was rather damp and we thought that this would bring us undone before we started but we were directed to an easier place to cross. This was a reasonable quick find once we arrived. Thanks for the cache.

17-Oct-21
Always keen to do old caches but having grown up in Warrandyte, I knew what sort of terrain was ahead of us. These have been on the radar for some time and it was decided that today we were going to attempt to tick some off.
This was the first for the day and although the way was rather damp, a safe crossing place was found and the water wasn't too much trouble after that.
Thanks for the cache and maintaining it for so long.

17-Oct-21
A perfect day to finally do some mining. The recent rains caused our first obstacle. But a careful hop skip and jump further upstream allowed us to continue on.
Thanks for bringing us here today by placing this cache, Long John Silva

17-Oct-21
We had separately eyed off these multis in the park and after some discussion decided that Sunday’s weather would be perfect to get together for some exploring and to tick these off.

We were almost stopped in our tracks at the first hurdle as the creek was swollen and not able to be crossed without some wading. However some locals quickly pointed out we could cross about 10m further along where some much larger boulders made excellent stepping stones.

Some interesting mine shafts and zones here to explore, and a quick find by papi4506 when we arrived at GZ.

Thanks Long John Silva for the cache and for contributing to the game.

Came and got the info yesterday and found it today. TFTC!

Warrandyte was chokas full of people. But in here there was peace and quiet. Thank you for putting this cache out Smile

04-Jul-21
I worked out the co-ordinates for the final several months ago when I was introducing a friend to multis in the area. At the time our stomachs were rumbling and lunch took precedence from finding this one. Today we had some time to make the trek over the creek and up the hill. We had attempted to grab this one a few times in the last few weeks but recent rains meant the creek next to the car park was running very high and not crossable unless we wanted wet feet. Today it had subsided enough to make the jump over the rocks in the creek.

Today out with the geoteen and geotween we set out up the hill. It was a good climb and it wasn't long before the geotween located the cache and the log was signed. We dropped off a TB to begin its journey. Thanks for the cache placement Edwards Clan and to LongJohn Silva for keeping this one in play for such a long time. On the way back to the car we passed a family panning for gold in the creek.

01-Dec-20
A day off work and the kids at school and a beautiful day gave us a great opportunity to enjoy this area. My wife and I came here for one of our first dates many years ago. It was a great day today. As we crossed the river at the beginning of the walk there was a man legitimately panning for gold and finding it. Great to find two very old caches in a great park with lots of mines and shafts. There's nothing better than geocaching.
Unless it's hunting Jasmer squares on your first post-lockdown geo-adventure!!

Heymissjo rolled the dice today and selected this cache for us to visit, as a T2 was a reasonable way to ease back into things. And after a moment's thought, the hiking boots were left in the car - it's only a T2 after all...
But I am familiar The Edwards Clan. I should've known better.

The carpark was full, but I was pleased to find the trail up to WP1 was empty of muggles. Heymissjo and I made our way up slowly and soon had calculations for GZ.
The find took a little hunting, and the cache was found out in the open - obviously, a necessary sacrifice of an animal wanting to use the hide as a temporary shelter in the not too distant past. It was in perfect condition, and after signing in, we placed it back where it belonged.
It was odd to note that there haven't been many finders here over the last 5 years, and it certainly deserves more visits.
Thanks to The Edwards Clan, and to Long John Silver for maintaining this old gold treasure.
It's a gorgeous area.

Out caching with The Welder!! Oh how awesome it is to be out hiking and caching again! My body is certainly feeling it from being locked up at home since covid. Thanks for being me back to this spot, I used to frequent these tracks in my teens, many moons ago with my friends.

24-Oct-20
With Melbourne having another go at getting to a "COVID normal" with unlimited time out and a 25km travel radius, it seems like a reasonable time to open up caches again. We still have a long way to go though so stay safe... keep your distance... use hand sanitizer... and BYO pen!

Stay Home... Stay Safe!!!!

14-Jun-20
Stupid caching, we screwed up the final coordinates and we're searching in a large radius for ages, until a quick phone call to a friend helped to work out where we went wrong.

14-Jun-20
We spent a lot of time looking for this one. Our calculated GZ looked plausible but we could turn up nothing. Something in the hint was playing on my mind so I calculated another set of co-ordinates that weren't too far away and also looked plausible. But even there, we ended up with nothing. So I looked at previous finders only to realise my good friend danozz had found it yesterday. A short phone call later and I realized my mistake and the real meaning behind the hint. Another set of co-ordinates and we were off to finally make the find. TFTC!

14-Jun-20
Spend too much time on the first part (that was hard!) But found it in the end and placed tractable. TFTC!

13-Jun-20
I visited this area a few weeks ago and completed almost all of the G acacias on this old mining site. I had to come back to complete the last remaining multi in this parklands. Thanks for keeping this cash alive for so many years.

13-May-20
Life is taking its first faltering steps back towards normal... we still have a long way to go but at least we are allowed out... stay safe... keep your distance... and use hand sanitizer Wink

Helping those who can't help themselves... geocaching is a non-essential activity!!!
We're staying home from work for a reason... and it's not so you can go and find caches!!!

I enjoy exploring this area and haven’t been back for a while. A multi that needed solving was just the excuse I needed to come back. Interesting multi and a good walk. TFTC

10-Feb-20
I was walking out from Rainbow's End and decided I had enough time to get this one too. Hard to imagine what it would be like working a mine for ten years and getting almost nothing out of it - after all that time, what made them give up? I didn't have to give up, because I was only here for the cache and this one was an easy find. Thanks EdwardsClan and Long John Silva for looking after this one.

Out with au.fait, we decided to do a few multis in the old gold mining area. It didn’t all go to plan, but ended up being a successful day despite the heat.
This was a simple multi that saw us double up on our tracks a little, as we had just completed the other nearby multi.
Thanks for bringing us here, EdwardsClan/Long John Silva

27-Dec-19
Out for a lovely morning of caching which as it happened extended well into the afternoon. Our first priority was to seek the pot of gold in the form of a smile at the end of the rainbow. Up hill and down again as we collected information from the several informative signs. As we carefully made our way down a particularly steep track echo said she hoped we didn’t have to come back up. Yes we did. Finally to GZ and that hard earned smile. With that completed we turned our attention to another nearby multi, only to discover we’d just walked almost past it, so back we went to collect that pot of gold. Not too difficult. Finally the 3rd in this area but further away. A short drive and a short walk to bring us to the first waypoint. We couldn’t believe we had already walked both down and the up that steepest track earlier in the day. With the Cöoper finally sorted it was back up that very steep track and an even steeper goat track. And it was getting very hot. Finally flushed with heat and success we called it a day This has earned us a doctorate with honours in how to make simple things more difficult A great time with lots of talk, walk, great company, and great caching. Thanks for the challenges

An unexpected trip almost to Melbourne as dalerious wanted Ausmer caches.
So we loaded up Harry Saturday morning, drove and cachedCool until we pitched the tent on the side of a road Saturday night[|)][xx(][|)], slept[^] and then cached Sunday Cool until it was time to head back to Shepparton.
20 Smile caches were found, including the 3 oldies Cool[^] that dalerious particularly wanted to find Cool

dalerious had targetted another multi here for it's age [^] and then I added a previous DNFSad of mine in this area to the to do list, too Wink
So we felt it only right Cool[^] to do all 3 multis in this area before we found somewhere for tea. [^]

This was the cache not targetted but happily worked through and found! CoolSmile
Gorgeous area[:X], history [^] and lots of exercise [|)][xx(] for us today as we traversed ups and downs in the heat and finally made the find after a bit of a search Surprised[?] Not sure what I did wrong [?]Red Face but dalerious came up with the goods CoolSmile to ensure the smileys Smile

Found with locus cache @6:10pm. Big Grin

This weekend was all about chasing older "Jasmer challenge" caches. Cool
Well for me it was anyway as locus cache's calendar grid looks a lot healthier than mine. [8)] By the time we headed for home however, I had filled 6 more slots including 3 from 2001 among the 20 caches we found without a single DNF. Razz

The grandfather cache may have been our pot of gold that we had come to this park to find, but a couple of 2005 multis would always look better on my map as smileys. Wink

We nearly gave up on this one. Something was amiss and it may have been our workings but it took a much wider search radius to finally get our names in this log book. Red Face

TFTC EdwardsClan and thanks Long John Silva for keeping the dream alive. [^]

So sorry for this late log. I’ve just discovered I didn’t get this one logged when we did it when down in Melbourne for the Parkville Event. Our apologies to the CO for not logging it sooner. We did it with Joojoo57, Richmond Lad and some others in our group.

Arrived into Melbourne at 9.15am and after picking up the hire car, we were off to our first cache which was near this one. Met our other caching friends in the car park and started our hike finding the WP and clues to find the final.
I arrived at GZ but couldn't see it until Snickersallan asked "what about there?".
I was standing right beside it and didn't look there.
SL then returned as found.
What an interesting location and history about the Gold mining in the area.

Another multi while in the area. We had not intended to target this cache but after realizing the fading light would make the other multi difficult this became our focus. A very interesting walk highlighting some fascinating history. Our final co-ords had us searching in the wrong area before we sat down to reassess and realized our mistake a short walk later and we were in more likely spot and after a lengthy search, to our relief, the cache was found TFTC

05-Aug-18
A short drive and half way into finding Rainbows End when we realised we would be trekking over to the other side of the mountain where we started for #3 in this series. Given we had two young kids and one with a sore ankle we decided it was best to make our way down the track...until we realised #2 was within 100m on a track not quite as steep. It was one where I wish I had read the hint more carefully before entering the next WP coords as we were a little while in the wrong spot and longer trying to find a clean trail to GZ. With the clock ticking we resorted to recent photos - this did the trick as the tree we were seeking was spotted soon after. A fun find and more mining history revealed along the way. It made for a fun afternoon caching - not high numbers but a good experience nonetheless. tftc

Walked past an echidna foraging on the path. I haven't been around these mines in years. The last time I visited the Warrandyte mines was during an excursion whilst at primary school where the teachers walked us hundreds of metres into one of the abandoned mines without any torches! This was the early 80's and I wouldn't imaging it happening these days. Sat on a rock to solve the puzzle and it didn't take too long to find the cache.

Hard to be sure if the coordinates were correct, gps was bouncing a lot but we found it!
Could not sign the log so I took a picture!

07-Nov-17
Out hiking in the area with family on cup day holiday, haven't been here before.
We did a circuit starting at Whipstick Gully, and while I picked up the information for #3 first, I actually found #2 first. Information was easily acquired at the coordinates, and GZ was calculated without much difficult. I left our family group for a short while to locate the cache. The GPS was bouncing round a bit, so the clue was quite helpful here. All in good order at the cache, nice walk.

Thanks for the cache.

20-Aug-17
Back again in the area grabbing my last outstanding multi in the area and after a pleasant walk with Happy Feet and my youngest son we worked out some reasonable co-ord's. We searched for a while before having one last look and low and behold the cache was in hand. Even managed to do a little exploring of the local piece of history while we were in the area. Thanks EdwardsClan and particularly Long John Silva for the upkeep and maintenance of the cache, great to get this one of my to do list.

20-Aug-17
Catching up with Happy pants and grabbing a few caches on this lovely sunny morning. It was an enjoyable walk up through these hills with the mines and information. This took us some time of scrambling with co-ords jumping about and not sure if we had worked the required info correctly. Eventually Happy pants made the find, thanks to a picutre of it's location.
Thanks Long John Silva for placing the cache for us to find.

I was here last week where I found the other Warrandyte multis, this one was my last for the day but I wasn't able to find it. I wasn't sure about the final coords so I searched all the options but no cache, just a dusty bum from sliding down the steep slopes. Then I got a text from friends asking where I was - I forgot all about our dinner, who does that?!
Thanks Long John Silva for confirming my coords. I was thrown by the reversal hint, but today with more focus it was a quick find.

03-Feb-17
Had great fun trekking around for this multi. I nearly tricked myself with calculating the longitude, but noticed my mistake before it landed me in someone's front yard. Thank you for a great cache.

12-Nov-16
One of three multis completed simultaneously in this area. I made a mess of the calculations here initially. I'm going to blame the fact that it started raining immediately upon my arrival at WP1, prompting me to rush it. I examined the wrong location briefly before reading the hint apparently written in anticipation of exactly the mistake I made. I strolled back in the opposite direction and embarked on a surprisingly tricky departure from the track whereupon I found the well-sheltered cache. Thanks EdwardsClan and Long John Silva!

At the moment Pfote and me are on a work and travel backpacking trip through the world. After I've spent a full year in Australia Pfote joined me for my second year down here. We will definitely try to collect a lot of boxes and all the special things in every state all around and through the middle.

After a job interview close by Theatralis and me got lured to this area by the old Rainbow's End and we decided to grab the other two multis here as well.

A quick and easy find, even I got a bit confused while calculating - absolutely my bad Smile

Getting good stable coordinates here proved to be more difficult than I expected. After several more readings I have made a small adjustment to the formula to calculate the final location. I have also added to the Hint to give abetter idea of where to look. After all, this cache is meant to be found.

Thanks to pnja and wazza.artist for their perseverance and feedback.

I found this cache this morning right where it is supposed to be YEAH! It has taken me a very looonnnngggg time to finally retrieve this one.

06-Jul-15
Part of the difficulty for pnja was that they made an error with the calculation of the East coordinate however they also came up with a difference in the South coordinate which I will need to double check. I will take it off-line until I do to avoid any further frustration.

05-Jul-15
Did this on the way back from Rainbow's End. We seem to have been the first to try (and to find) this since the relocation.

We found what looked like the old hide then headed further in to the bush following the GPS. However there was nothing that looked like a spot for a cache. We went around in circles for a long time, with the geokids getting tired and cranky, and us getting frustrated and rechecking our calculations. Nothing doing.

Eventually geomum, who had given up using a GPS by then, just began searching for logical hides, and eventually spied a likely spot from several metres away. Success!

It seems like this spot was the exact distance and angle from what seemed to be the old hide, but west, rather than east. This put the cache about 10-20m from the coords we calculated. Will msg CO with new location we recorded and see if changes need to be made, or we just messed up the calc and got lucky!

Anyway, all's well that ends well! Tftc.

As the cache has now been taken twice in the last year I have moved it a bit further into the bush.

Happy hunting Smile

Based on a conversation with wazza.artist it is looking like this one might be missing again. Off-line until I get the opportunity to have a look for myself.

Spiffy- and I headed out today for some gold!!!. Well some caches at least. Quite a steep walk up to this one but we enjoyed the exploring and cache hide. Thanks Long John Silva for the cache.

After grabbing 10 before I arrived at my buddies place we headed out to gather some multis in his 10km zone and a few which also needed a few long walks to get to. We were very successful with no DNF's for the whole day.
Parked in the car park and gathered the clues and after a nice steep walk the cache was found hiding away. Then proceeded to explore one of the nearby mines.
Thanks Long John Silva for the cache, the hunt and the fun.

Found @ 6:12pm, find # 3834.

Out and about on the search for caches with biggles1024, we had targeted a couple in this area as they fill some holes on the placed months grid.
On the way back to the car from Rainbow's End, we found ourselves at this one. We had a look at the mines along the way, read the info on the sign and did some math. we headed to our GZ and looked around to find nothing, a quick look at the hint set us straight and now that I look back at the description, I can see where we went wrong, we then headed to the new GZ and the cache was found very quickly.
I have certainly enjoyed the walk around this interesting area.

Thanks to the EdwardsClan for placing this cache and to Long John Silva for keeping it going.

Find #1663

I headed out this afternoon with Stemicmitsar as we were unable to go out last night for our usual Friday night run. Two caches which were on our "Finds By Placed Month" grids were our main objectives.
This cache presented us with a very enjoyable walk around this park with much to be learned about my favourite part of Australian history, the Gold Rush era.
The co-ords we calculated were searched but nothing looked promising. We then went to the hint and found information that we feel ought to be in the body of the description. We adjusted our calculated GZ and when we arrived, a quick find ensued.

[green] This is Gold! [/green]

I had a bit time before I had to return to the city so I gave the Rainbow cache a try. Since I was already here I figured I could detour to this one without too much effort >> good choice! There were almost no people in the park so I enjoyed this pleasant walk.

Thanks and cheers Wink

Today a bike ride around the goldfields to pick up this multi and another , starting from whipstick gully it was a tough ride up and back down to wp1, however I missed the small track to go down to get there and found myself at goldfields road . This was ok as I picked up the info required for the other cache. The compass pointed north, but that was a vertical walk through bush so Back up the track to find another way to wp1 and the small walking path was found, gathering clues for Gz it was then another short walk on the wrong track to find the cache and back down the better track to where the bike was. Thanks to the new cache iowner, Long John Silva, for taking over this cache and keeping these old caches running, signed the fresh log book, and left the TB there for next finder. TFTC , and grabbed some unloved points too Smile

New container, new log book, all good to go!

Left a Trackable so I hope it's not too long before someone comes visiting. Lots of "unloved days" too!

I have taken this cache over from its creators, the EdwardsClan, as they aren't currently able to provide the required maintenance.

I went to check on the cache today and discovered that, since I was here last January and found the cache, someone has absconded with the whole thing. So it is off-line until I get the opportunity to replace it.

The day had turned into a bit of a dead loss after going out after a FTF this morning so instead of trying to settle down to some more work in the afternoon, I thought that finding another cache would be more interesting. Having found Goldrush #3 a few months ago, it was time to have a go after this one.

I parked in the car park and set off in the required general direction. After a little check, I picked out the small path leading up the hill through the bush. Eventually I came to the site of the mine and found my way around to the sign. With the answers quickly found, it was then just a process of calculating the new co-ordinates and setting off in search of the cache. A bit more uphill walking soon brought me to quarry.

Finding an old cache and looking through the log book is always very satisfying. Thanks to the EdwardsClan for this one.

I'm down in Melbourne with T-Tech visiting relatives for Christmas, and while I'm here I want to grab as many caches as possible to fill in gaps on my Jasmer grid, as well as some of the more unusual icons. On our way back to the car after finding another nearby very old multi, and I couldn't resist adding this one as we went past. We had no trouble getting the needed info, but crunching the numbers needed some thinking! I had a good-looking GZ, so we walked on, then found a geotrail that led us to GZ, where T-Tech made the find. TFTC, EdwardsClan.

Down from Brisbane over Christmas with IolantheK [^]
She did the numbers on this cache and before we were opening the cache Smile
Enjoyed learning about mining in the area.

We picked this cache up, at 1:33pm. I have to admit to this one being a very easy bonus cache for me, as -nirgal- was the last finder a few weeks ago and knew where the final was. As we were walking right past it after having picked up the nearby Rainbow's End cache, it was too hard to walk past.

-nirgal- and I headed out to pick up a few caches we needed to tick off our 'placed month' caching calendar and a few other caches along the way. There were nearly 12000 steps for the day, and to me most of them felt like they were up hill, but we had a fun day, the weather was perfect and the caches were good too. Thanks for the cache EdwardsClan, and another reason to be out and about in a great park.

I'd decided ages ago that the oldest cache in the state would be my 2000th find, and as the number approached, the seeds of a challenge germinated: find a sequence of hides placed in the years 2000 to 2013.

As it was more convenient to the next hide on my challenge hit list, I first attempted #3, and had most of the numbers I needed before I realised what the four empty concrete pads were for. In other circumstances, I might've spent some sleuthing time on the Web, but I can do that later... meanwhile, I drove around to the opposite side of Fourth Hill to start again.

Gingerly crossing the creek, I took the first trail I could see, straight up to the waypoint. It's quite steep, and slippery in places, so I wish I had grabbed a trekking pole from the car, even for this short distance.

Numbers in hand, I calculated a target, and continued the trail up the trail, then struggled the final few metres. No sign of a probable hide... hmmm... so I reread the description. Oops; message to self: read the... well, you know.

A slight adjustment put the container easily in hand after another short, steep scramble, then I found a longer but easier route back to the car.

Well, that's the sixth placed year covered. Thanks, EdwardsClan; I'll be back for that other cache.

A great spot for a Sunday afternoon bush walk and so many tunnels. As suspected on our approach from Fourth Hill, had to cover the same ground twice to read the sign then backtrack to the treasure. Took a bouncy ball and left a bubble -blowing frog. TFTC

After doing this one in stages (I live close by) I decided to head out in between rain showers to finish it ... Found the cache quite easily as it was a bit exposed, covered it with some extra sticks after signing. Thanks for this adventure, this is a great old cache!

This cache was found during a Monday night cache run with Blacklegend, Trailrunning and Rebel Acts (TDC) as well as Poynts95 who came down with BL. for the nights run. Plenty of kilometres travelled during the run, with us starting early afternoon around Rebels home turf and finishing in the wee hours of the morning in Heathcote. A great variety of caches found with some really nice hides. Many thanks to the cache owners for placing the caches we found.

Found on a caching run with the TDC..... I was lucky enough to be able to cache with my local caching mate, Blacklegend, and the rest of The Demolition Crew on this occasion. I had a great night, lots of good conversation and great to again catch up with the TDC. My thanks to all the cache owners for their hides on the night. I don't think I can say a lot more than the others already have about the finds on the night. There were some fantastic hides amongst the caches, and some fav points will be given.

Found out and about on another TDC caching night. A fantastic run that took us far and wide, with the usual crew and with Poynts95 as well. Good conversation and laughs as always, and great to be out and about again finding....
