Logs
Well this cache has departed in the last great flood and there is no sign of it anywhere.
We enjoyed reading the logs over the years and hope it brought some fun to cachers.
We enjoyed reading the logs over the years and hope it brought some fun to cachers.
Reading the history of this one and the length of time it has been disabled, I think it is time for this too go into the histories of geocaching.
Can remember reading about this one when it was disabled, but for whatever reason I did not remove it from my gps. Did not find the cache and believe it would have been washed away.
This was going to be a find, but, in view of recent circumstances and after talking to pprass, i am just converting it to a note. Had no idea at the time of finding that it was disabled, but knew there were a few DNF's on it. The incident described at GZ is surprising, as me and Marty do heaps of night caching, and have had heaps of contact with Police, and it has never been a problem, in fact we may have gotten a few more Police into the sport.... That aside, if you want to email me, i have a unique viewpoint on this, as do a few other cachers out there.
Why am i logging it as a note and not a DNF, well, there is a photo a few logs back, and we found this and a few other pieces that had metal embedded in them and holes drilled. I'm not saying it was the cache, but if i was going to put a sneaky cache in the tree, this is how i would do it. On advice from pprass, it would seem that what i had was not the cache, and the cache is indeed washed away (gone).
If you want to email me, i may be able to help out with the situation described in your log of the 24th. Cheers and TFTC.

There has been a very unpleasant incident at GZ involving a geocacher and the police who were being quite aggressive and unreasonable. We have therefore decided to disable this cache so that other cachers are not placed in the same situation. It will also give us some time to check whether it is still there after 2 reported DNF's and a few unlogged DNF's as well.
Sorry for any inconvenience, but I am sure you will understand considering the potential seriousness. We will check on the situation next time we are in Melbourne and then decide whether to re-activate it.

Went back for a second look with xambo4u who had found it previously. In the week since our last visit the water had been through GZ yet again. We looked around but no sign of the cache but plenty of evidence of fast flowing water having moved through here yet again. Wondering how far the cache has moved from GZ as a result of this. Will look again sometime in the future.
Didn't find it but like some others much earlier, I wonder if it's been destroyed by a recent flood. Lots of flood debris around and found what I thought might be part of the cache.... But I could be wrong.
If others are successful, I hope to come back to this one. Such a nice park.

Approached GZ and expected to be hunting for a while. Luck was on my side today as I found this one in the second object I touched. Thanks for a cleverly hidden cache.
This was a great cache and exceptionally well hidden.
On my previous visit I was looking straight at it.

Found today on mission 200, tricky little hide this one, nearly gave up as we thought it had been washed away as there is a lot of debris around the area, and certainly gz was under water not that long ago, but then my Geodaughter said hey dad this looks suspisious and we had a look and YES thats it, dont think it was in the right spot but we put it back were our GPSr was showing GZ TFTC 10 out of 10 for effort Job well done pprass SL
Looked unsuccessfully for this one for quite a while.
It appears that maybe this cache as been washed away .
There was obvious signs of flooding around the GZ area.
It would be worth checking if this cache is still available.

looked around for a while...no luck! Disrupted by rain - will be back when the flood waters recede
Camo has been repaired and cache replaced in it's proper hiding spot. Have also fine tuned the co-ords. When we searched for our own cache we got to within 4 metres which isn't bad, but for a "micro-in-the-bush" we have it now less than that. Hope future cachers enjoy and lets see if it lasts another 5 years..

2nd attempt at this one, but luckily this time I had the eagle eye Jords with me! Very clever hide, TFTC.
Found on way back to office. I can justify this sneaky one as I doubt family will make it out here. Nice park. Not sure the 'hint' is where supposed to be but will speak to owners bout that. GOYA

Took my 5yo out caching this afternoon. #10 of 16 finds for the day. Parked then walked to GZ to make a pretty quick find. Thanks for the hide.
Found after a little bit of searching. Good attempt at "getting back", but the join is a bit obvious when you find it.

Traveling with my trusted companion Anne we found this cache @ 16:01hrs today.
Wow! I should have been a bit more observant with this one and I would have saved myself a lot of walking.
Log is full, so the next person might want to bring another piece of paper to use as a temp log.
I'll let the owner know.

I wondered what was up as I read the description-interesting song. Found a suitable carpark without the aid of a street map, walked to GZ and found the cache. With a map I might have had a shorter walk, but then I wouldn't have seen the extent of the park. Thanks for the clever hide.
After trying to nogotiate a closeby creek crossing we decided to play it safe and drive around and took the short stroll and found the particially well hidden cache after a breif search.
Many thanks for the cache pprass.

Visited this one about 2months ago with out a GPS, and only a vague google earth glance as to where it could be, I had read back then that it was well hidden, turns out we were searching around 2-4 m away.. (not bad for no GPS)
This time with GPS, found it in no time, I was looking 1m away whilst Mr_x_02, said somthing along the lines of "whats going on here", followed seconds later with "bingo.."
Found 7.10pm, (then again after run at 8.00pm with a pen)

This one was great. Although I must admit I as not the one to find it. The ache was about 4m of my GZ and blended in well. It took keener eyes than mine to find it. TTFC
A most ingenious hide which proved a challenge.
Sheer numbers saw us stumble across it after 10 or so minutes.
Well done and thank you.

Felt like finishing work with a cache today (plus making sure I fill that 'finds by day of the year' graph eventually!) so popped in here en route home.
Even with the clue I was scrabbling around a bit, until I saw one which was distinguishable by some unusual features.... very well done though. Made the find quite satisfying.
Got surprised by a dog walking muggle but dead silence and stillness meant she passed me by without noticing. PHew!

Unable to locate this one, had to give up the search when the rain came down. Not sure if it is still there, will try again soon.
This was inaccesable today due to the heavy rains over the last 2 days, there was a river running through the whole area where there is normally grassy/treed area. Should be available again in a few days
Good hide, this park is like a big suburban backyard. Thanks for the cache

The senior Hunters were out for a stroll, whilst picking up a clue to another cache this evening. Very close to the WP1 for a kiwideb cache we hope. Anyway this was a superb hide. Only the eagle eyes of Hunter number 2 saved us a DNF. SL TFTC pprass
We now have a personal TB to track the km's travelled while caching so just dipping it in to catch up on the km's

We were getting excited.... this was going to be find 99 - getting close to that magic 100 now!!!!!!! lol
We arrived at GZ and having had a little tiny bit of experience of C&Pprass hides before, and considering the surroundings were similar to the previous, we, or should I say GMelb, pounced on the hide in less than 10 mins which wasnt bad considering all the options lolol!!!!! (GAFF2)
TFTC C&Pprass - another fantastic hide!!
We were then planning to do your "Not the Slanty Green Spire" for our 100th today however when we arrived at the CarPark at WP1 it was rather full and as we came to the top of the hill and were about 50metres away from where we presumed WP1 was going to be we could see it was full of people having a Christmas Party so we decided we would leave it for later in the day. However once we got back from Steph's party and checking up on our Family Orchard Cache, my sister and niece had dropped in so we didnt have time to go out again..... maybe tomorrow or Monday!! Was fantastic to see CPrass at Steph's birthday btw and share caching stories!!
Thanks again guys and hope to log our 100th tomorrow or Monday ... watch this space lol

Called in for a quick search with M while S was at Cubs. We have search for this one before and walked away disappointed. Tonight was different, with the rain having just passed and no one around to disturb us we retraced our other searches and hey presto, there it is. I must admit the hide is impressive and I now know why we missed it in the past. Well done pprass. TFTC. KeMs
Awesome cache, think it should be 3 star difficulty but whatever. Located at 6.55pm, LS TFTC.
An extremely well hidden cache, one that could so easily be picked up by an unsuspecting muggle, yet remains so well hidden even those looking for it will be flabbergasted. This is simply brilliant, so I had to be the third Adventurer to say how wicked it is, just to make the point.
Thanks for the find!

Thanks owed to having so many people in our group including The Dehney's and also some Newbies. Many hands make light work so the saying goes. Found at 16:15 on a Sunday afternoon bike ride with a mate (find #4 / 6 for the day). We came to do your other nearby multi cache but forgot to add 306 to the longitude and ended up in a strange location on the wrong side of a fenced off ditch from here. Still we got our bikes across that so we could give this one a try. I've done a similar cache, so when I read that it was hidden to look like its surroundings, I had a fairly good idea. I checked the clue which only confirmed my suspicion and when my mate picked up an object and dismissed it, by putting it back down again, I thought I'd take a closer look. Sure enough, it was it. So not too much frustration in the end. Thanks pprass.
#26 Great camo, well done. I was planning on hiding a cache in exactly the same way!!

After the last cache I thought I could just go for a bush walk and eventually hit this one - but took the hint and was able to drive up really close. A very nice cammo job on this little one - I took a photo for the rest of the family.

Late afternoon outing with the family. There's been a lot of rain around which made for big puddles, which made for happy children, but will inevitable lead to extra washing. We trampled around and eventually found the cache. There must've been a fair amount of luck involved because pprass has clearly achieved the goal of a sneaky, pay-back cache. This is a brilliant hide.

Great day for the caching challenge and this one took me quite a while. Lucky you guys that it just jumped out at you as I was not so lucky. There is a lot of greenery to go through here and lucky enough it was a beautiful day and muggles were out at their own challenges, I was a solo player in this part of the playing field. It is very well hidden and full credit to you. This is another great walking/sports area to remember. Thanks for bringing me here.

Really enjoyed this one. Not only is it a great cache, it was a lovely day so there were lots of people out walking, playing baseball, and frolicking in the nearby creek with their dog....muggle alert! Once I pinned down the general area I sat down for a few minutes to look around and 'something' jumped out at me leading me to the cache. Great fun. TFTC.

Pprass, do you realise I had to listen to DB singing 'Get Back' because of you? It was bad. Should've been 'Hey Jude'anyway. This was a very sneaky little hide, and we liked it a lot. TFTC.
I liked this hide, something I had seen before but wasn`t expecting it here. I had placed my hand only inches from it while searching and missed it.
Probably why I failed to find it until Riddell and Sam Carter turned up and found it for me, always good to meet up with fellow cahers out in the field, especially when they find the cache for you. It was almost a DNF.
I tried to hide from them as I heard them approaching but I think they were expecting to find a cacher there as I had parked my car close by.
Well done on the camo.
Cheers.

Found this one at 14:25 with ssmc4 following the wonderful GEGP #0 - The Great Eastlink Geocache Project event nearby. After a few minutes of searching (not to mention reading the hint ), s came up with what looked like the remainder of the cache container. That was enough for me and I was just about to leave and post a maintenance log when a bit of s persistence had the actual log in hand. (He's a better man than I Gunga Din .)
After signing the log, we put the bits back together and replaced it in a likely spot, even though it appeared to be 5 or so metres from where both our GPSrs were telling us to look.
TNLNSL, although our BYO Pen geocoin had a visit to mark the occasion. Thanks pprass.

This was found in the company of Riddell and DJ Geodog Rascal (I think (this was the first time I'd met him, and I hope I've remembered the right name )). Riddell and I had come cross-country from the GZ of another cache and, of course, had managed to run into the creek while not in the vicinity of a bridge. After making our way around this obstacle we passed through a car park with a lone car lurking ... and its suspicious nature was confirmed by the presence of a gc sticker on the window. On arrival at GZ the lurking car's owner was found lurking in the vicinity of a large collection of possible cache hiding places, having just begun his search. We thought that three sets of eyes would help with this one, and settled down for the long haul ... but ten seconds later Riddell came up trumps. Nice one, pprass, but not so vengeful on this occasion!
Like Sam Carter said, it is not often you find another cacher hiding behind a tree at GZ.

Found this one on my second attempt also armed with a little knowledge from the previous logs (and the hint). My first concern was that it had been washed away and my efforts were worthless. However, on a second visit I reaped the rewards most associated with endeavour and persistance. A clever cache worthy of the PPRASS branding.

Once upon a time Harlips decided to hide their first cache. A magnetic in a park, under some play equipment. Along came Pprass and found that cache, but chastised the Harlips for putting a cache in such a place. Harlips felt very guilty about this!.
Well you can forget about any guilt now that we've been to Get Back! What a devious little hide (and don't get me started on Tria either - grrr!!!!)
As we left the site "Lips" was rambling on about "no more Mr Nice Guy", and something about those "nasty little nanos you can buy from Ground Speak".

Nice hide. Found it on our walk this evening. We were going to attempt it a couple of weeks ago after the rain but the area was flooded. I'm surprised it survived!
This was great! Took us a while and did a bit of triangulation. Finally my 10 yr old son found it and we were pretty amused. A friend that came along had been becoming a bit sceptical about this whole geocaching thing - the first 3 attempts at other locales had proved fruitless. Thankfully she's now a convert!

We were passing by this neighbourhood today, so we thought we'd drop in and give this one another crack! Our first search here several months ago was in fading light, but today we had full sunshine and an extra set of eyes to help. We knew GZ quite well from that previous visit, so we searched in all those spots again. I (Mr38) came up trumps with this one, but only by luck when I stumbled across something that just didn't 'look right'! A nice hide indeed - and we got so close last time too! SL at 12:15pm. TFTC and an enjoyable hunt!
After our shopping fun at Glen Waverley we needed more excitement. Hadn't chosen this route too carefully. The twists and turns were almost too much for jane.

Son moved a few things and found the cache but it was not in its "sneaky" position. It was obvious how it should be re-hidden but we could not find the right spot!!. It was put back where we found it.
Was joined by the rest of the Coffee and Cache crew for this one. We looked high and low and most other places for about half an hour. Geowife declared it time for Coffee and we had written it off as a DNF when I got a hunch and was rewarded. I think I had probably moved the cache once or twice earlier.
Thanks pprass for a very ingenious hide.

Got to GZ without any problems, searched for about 10 mins before my partner spotted it. Quite ingenious!! Damn thorns! TFTC.
Found @ 7:20pm.
Started on wrong side of creek,
Walked back & lost pen.
Got to right side, got new pen,
looked for about 15 minutes, decided to read past logs, then, looked over and there it was.
Pulled out cache container ready to log my find, but couldn't get log sheet out.
I've got big fingers!
Just my luck!
