Another find in this capercorn coast area. Definitely beautiful views in the area!
Yer bua's comment enabled me to find this cache. The lid of the cache is broken. The container needs replacing. Thanks dirich92
F____n mozzies, if you think my signing of the log looks like scribble, blame the f____n mozzies, they swarmed me. Other than the mozzies, its a great walk. TFTC
I walked into a cactus, speared my hat on a low branch and cut my legs with some type of sharp grass with the end result being I still didnt find the cache. Oh well- it was still a gorgeous walk. Greetings from a Canadian cacher.

Lovely views from the nearby lookout. Worth walking up from the beach south. With TBs Canadian Flag, Dosenjger, Piglet Travel and G.N.I.A Travel Tag in tow.
Decided to extend the weekendly geocaching bike ride, and get this cache before heading back. Nice find, watch for prickles and green ants. Tftc
Visiting Emu Park from Victoria with a muggle friend, I had to choose when I would be able to cache. This morning, we came here to try to spot some turtles, so I was pretty happy to see a cache here as well. Today makes day 85 of my ongoing streak. Thanks dirich92 for placing this cache
As an avid geocacher, I couldn't resist the opportunity to combine my passion for treasure hunting with the thrill of exploring this stunning coastline. The circuit walk was invigorating, and I felt a sense of serenity being so close to the ocean. The geocache was easily found. Thank you for this gem!
Ocw the Bebes. Made the lovey walk around the track. On the short bush bash into the cache I managed to walk into a green ant nest and got covered. Managed to get them off with few bites. Be careful and come in from turtle view way. Tftc

Day 6 of the CQ reflection Tour for ruzzelz. This has now morphed as a week long holiday in Yeppoon, with T4mmmy, Just-a-Trifle, Fangsoki, Crew 153, 1MinnieMoo and Prime - we are the YEP23 mob.
Very strange drum of stuff up here. Avoid moving it.

A week long holiday in Yeppoon, with T4mmmy, Just-a-Trifle, Fangsoki, Crew 153, 1MinnieMoo and Ruzzelz - we are the YEP23 mob. An afternoon trundle around the track was a great leg stretch after our day of short car-trips and scrambles. We went anti-clockwise (recommended) and the inital trek uphill towards GZ was a bit warm and humid, but we soon popped out atr the top and were rewarded with views, a breeze (a smelly area that hid a cache) and a lovely cool wind. There is no spot on this coast that is not amazing. From here it was open breezes, views in front of you and downhill back to the carpark.
Thanks dirich92 (maintenance by Temingi) for entertaining me at this location.

Due to unforeseen circumstances Mr Smokey Bear will no longer be a part of Team Smokey Bear and will continue his adventures as "SmokeyBearOG".
So I'm relogging all previous finds under my new account.
Unfortunately this log will not show the original logging date.
**Thanks to dirich92 for this adventure, looking forward to many more.**

We stopped here for the only real walk of the day, that was the plan. Took the steeper way up and were rewarded with those stunning views, we even spotted some turtles deep below. The cache site itself was okay, box is smaller than expected but dry and safe. The walk down felt way longer than up and we arrived back at the bus rather sweaty.

Great Northern escape 2022 Day 121. Yeppoon Day 2. Today was to be a quiet day with no caching targets, except the ritual of at least one. My first option was a fail, so I headed up this bluff for a nice walk to this cache and a trig. The rest of the day was restful at the van park.
There were plenty of people walijng and running up the trail, but I just plodded along till I got to the top. With such a big companion object, there were only mozzies to deal with at GZ whilst signing the cache.
Thanks for the cache dirich92

Such a lovely walk with spectacular views. We did linger just admiring the views for quite some time. TFTC. On the way down we were passed by one of several exercisers.....I had to do a double take (& almost had to resuscitate hubby), as I thought this woman wasn't wearing clothing - turns out she was wearing a very pale lemon lycra outfit......
Walked the short way with Mrs lat&long today, found the cache, got stabbed by thorns and bitten by a beautiful green ant . . . what a great adventure . If you’re going anti-clockwise, wait until the cache is behind you before venturing in, unless you like thorns and angry ants . Stunning views up there. Take some time to admire them and YES complete the circuit. It was a delightful walk.
Had a nice walk round the full circuit here. We wanted to end up on the beach so we started from the picnic side. Stunning views from the top. Dropped off a trackable that I've had in my possession for far too long!
Mosquito's were terrible on this day and the kids didn't have the patience. Will be back.
If it weren’t for geocaching, I probably would not have walked up this hill and I would have missed out on a great experience. We took the anti clockwise route suggested, making our way up the sealed path, accompanied by magnificent vibrant blue butterflies, past large green ant nests in trees, tangled vines, and snatches of views.
Once we popped out into the open we were welcomed by strong winds, views for miles and a geotrail of sorts. Following it as far as it went, we turned in for the last 10 metres or so and found ourselves at an unexpected item before finding the cache soon after.
Once signed and replaced, we continued the circuit, stopping at the lookout to admire the stunning columns along the cliff and again to look for turtles. We were not expecting to see any in the rough choppy conditions created by the strong winds today but managed to see two before seeking shelter ourselves.
Reaching the base once more, we were surprised by the number of people setting up to enjoy a picnic lunch given the inclement weather. Finding a spare table with a view across to the water, we were joined for lunch by several scrub turkey, kookaburras and the ubiquitous green ants. A memorable time. Thanks dirich92

With just a day to spend around the Yeppoon area, we decided a couple of good walks would be a lot of fun. A chance to see the area and get a perspective of the beauty from up high.
We drove for the day from Rockhampton, parked the car and really enjoyed this round a circuit to loop. We approached in an anticlockwise direction, and the shade was with us on the way up.
At GZ, the views were spectacular and we spent quite awhile there before gradually heading our way down the other side of this rock formation.
On our descent, we spotted turtles below; just a couple, and the views of the islands in the distance was an added bonus.
We signed the lock on this one and we are very happy to be able to do this walk today.
Thanks dirich92, and Temingi for maintenance.

31/10/21 Find #5171
This is our final day of holidays before Fangsoki and I head home tomorrow. We had specific caches on today’s list, and decided to get a start on them before it got too hot, and just in case those possibly predicted storms roll in.
With those specific caches done nice and early, I checked out the map, and wondered why this cache hadn’t been on the list as well. It’s possibly because Fangsoki had done it years ago, and that it involved a solo walk that I might not have had time for in our itinerary, who knows, but there was certainly time, and now was it, despite the day warming up significantly.
I decided to approach anti-clockwise, and passed a young couple also on their way up.
A check of my phone to see how far away from GZ I was revealed I had a problem. My phone during this last week has acted up a couple of times, and for some reason thought I was a crow’s 800 metres away. Really? Now?!
I kept going and was soon at the seat, so knowing I was close, I decided to try my luck and followed a geotrail. Turns out it was the wrong one and finally my phone had worked out where I was. Ahhh over that way. Well I headed back to the seat, just as the couple arrived, so had a brief chat with them about how lovely the area was and about holiday destinations along the coast before saying farewell to them. Once they left, I noticed the right geotrail and made my way in and around for a quick find at an unexpected object.
Then back to the path to continue the trail around the rest of the way, running into the couple once more and joining them for a spot of turtle spotting.
And finally off ahead of them once more to the awaiting Fangsoki.
Thanks for the cache dirich92 and for maintaining it, Temingi. A fine way to end the caching here in Yeppoon.

Upon approaching Ground Zero (GZ) we didn't think that thing would be the cache, but we went and checked it out anyway and what do you know, it was the cache's much bigger brother!
This walk is a lovely spot with great views from the top. Thanks for bringing us here and...

What a great cache. Our first in the Yeppoon area on this visit. Purely by chance we went ant-clockwise which was a good choice as the scenery grew more and more spectacular as we completed the loop. We are not sure whether we completed this walk on our pre ious. Is it. Most likely not as we are sure we would have remembered it.
Saw a number of turtles from Turtle Lookout. An added bonus.
A favourite from us for the views.

This was part of my road trip to Townsville, with an unexpected leave from work off I went to do a few days of caching, grabbing a few special ones along the way. This was day two of my trip and the aim was to continue grabbing some old caches and be in Townsville by lunchtime Sunday.
This was the next one on my list and a short drive from my last find. I parked in an area off from the road and started my walk up the hill through the very long grass. I then found a little trail which took me to the top of the hill. A little look around and the cache was found, oh another oldie that is still good and in play. Thank you for keeping this one in play, with log signed and cache replaced as found I was off to my next cache on my list. However I did spend a few extra minutes up here just enjoying the views and people watching from a distance.

Grey nomads travelling around Australia in our caravan. Held up a bit due to Covid19 and major knee surgery, so currently in Queensland only, but there are plenty of caches in our home state that we have not yet found.
Currently, we are farm sitting near Rockhampton for three months, so hoping to clear out Rockhampton, Yeppoon, Gracemere, Gladstone and Mt Morgan!!!
Today, back in Yeppoon, chasing up a few more smilies. Bit cooler here than in Rocky, but still a hot walk to the summit, til we rounded the corner and a beautiful sea breeze hit us. We rested a the seat, read over some previous logs, one of which gave us a clue as to where to go to find the cache. Great hide.
Nice downhill walk to the carpark and a coffee. Saw several turtles from the lookout
Thanks dirich92 for the hide, and Temingi for maintaining.

I was visiting the area today with my daughter on a holiday roadtrip and of course this oldie was on our list. I had climbed up to Rocky View this morning, but for another fine old cache I was prepared to do a bit more work I followed the path to the top, praying that the spotting rain would hold off for a bit, but bthat was forgotten when I got to the top and saw the views. Wow. Lots of photos taken before I closed in on the cache, following the geotrail in from the seat which thankfully seemed the easiest approach. A quick find and sign and back down the path to enjoy the views closer to the water on the way down. I made a short stop to let a rather long snake cross the path. He wasn't in the least concerned about me, but I was significantly more worried about him! I dashed past the 'snake crossing' and continued the trip down. More photos as the view changed until I was back at the bottom and heading for the car park. Thanks for placing this cache for us to enjoy dirich92 and thanks for maintaining it Temingi. Take a Favourite Point for the absolutely breathtaking views enjoyed during the journey!
Quick revisit with new caching partner to show off the sights?and drop off a TB. Thanks again
Found this a while back with the family. Nice and easy find watch out for the rare muggle that comes past
Found while taking the kids for a walk up kemp hill to escape the covid-19 lock down. TFTF. Everything is in good condition.
Found during our holidays on the way up the east coast. Great location for a small hike. TFTC

Went for a walk around the knob. Got attacked by green ants as there is a huge nest only a few metres from GZ. Great views along the way.

I enjoyed the walk to the cache and the spectacular views. I followed the catcher's track to GZ and scored a bite from a green tree ant for my trouble. At GZ the cache was strewn around the general area with the lid smashed. I put it back together as best I could and re hid it but it needs a new container and light book. TFTC!

Wasn’t sure where the walking track began but a quick google search showed a very clear map of the path and the parking area. So we parked the geomobile at S23 10.756 E 150 47.611 and set off on the 2.3 km walk around the Bluff. Thoroughly enjoyed the walk and even spotted a turtle at the Turtle Lookout.

Caching in and around the area, we picked up a few caches and this was one of them.
We did the circuit walk and saw some turtles at the first look out. Great views were had from doing the walk. Cache container is broken and a new zip locked bag is needed.
Thanks for placing this cache for our enjoyment.

Got some advice from Termingi about the best approach. Best views of the entire trip from up here. Even saw an echidna within 6m of your cache. There was a wedding on the grass near the carpark which I had a little sticky beak at too. Thanks for the hide.
Found with KoiranahRangers. Great views, lots of mosquitos were fed in the finding of this cache!
Found. But didn’t log in the paper as too many mosquitoes to stop and take the time to
While staying in the region for a couple of days we decided that this walk was what we badly needed for some exercise. A delightful walk on a beautiful warm and humid day.
I had cleverly covered myself in insect repellant but Geohubby had sadly declined. He soon regretted the offer when he became intimate and on a first name basis with millions of mozzies...especially at the cache site
We were delighted to spot a couple of turtles at the lookout so that put the icing on the cake for a delightful walk.
Many thanks for the cache dirich92
