No luck today, found a blue tongue (I think) in the John, but no cache. Next time.
An enjoyable long weekend of caching with friends around the Southern Tablelands.Quick find beautiful location. TFTC The Subdowners!
A cool and fun day of caching around the Southern Tablelands. This cache was a straightforward find in the obvious location. Container and log in good condition. Thanks!
Full time Nomads, travelling around Australia since 2014. Staying a week or so in Yass, today we headed out mid morning. Fantastic weather today. We did alot of cache maintenance today, replacing broken containers, or replacing wet soggy logs. Also finding lids and making sure the logsheets were in the containers then ensuring the lid was on properly before moving on to the next cache. It is very hard for the CO to keep up with maintenance if nobody actually reports any. [B)]Eventually found this between the John's but not where we were expecting. Nice cache name. TFTC The Sundowners
While planning for this trip, I spotted this cache. I thought it would be plain rude to just sail past such an old beast.I parked up and made my way into GZ. Hmmm - so its going to be like that is it? I had not spent more than 10 seconds in "in the area" when I spotted the prize - sort of sitting in no man's land - but there never the less. I signed the log and rehid the cache as found.Happy to have found this one. TFTC The Sundowners
No luck here today, I even bashed my head on the metal John, just to make matters worse.
Had a spare day off work today, so i thought i would drive out take tackle some of these trail caches in the area. And just find caches until it got dark or i got bored, whichever would come first. Turns out i ran out of time.Found a good 90 or so caches with a few of them being challenges that i probably don't qualify for. Thanks for all the hides from the various CO's for the caches i have found. A good 80% of them need some kind of maintenance as they are all full of water due to average containers that don't have any kind of weather sealing gaskets. IF they are really bad and unusable i have noted it in my log for that specific cache log.Sorry about the copy and paste logs, but with so many to log and being a cache trail this is going to get painfull otherwise!Cache was found, but the coordinates were a good 20 meters out, and the long grass overgrowth made this one tricky.
A nice hint and not quite as difficult to recover as expected. No parishoners here today to disturb me. TFTC The Sundowners and a fav awarded
Took us a few minutes to spot this nicely hidden cache. A bit of a struggle to get to it. LOL. TFTC The Sundowners.
It’s Easter and the Rats are either, on our way, in town or heading home from Rutherglen after a great caching adventure.
Thanks to all the cache owners who’ve contributed to the vast variety of caches we found this trip.

Day 2 of our group assault on the caches around Yass which included maccamob, mclookers, micaparamedic, Team Crackers, Muzza, Alansee and Moonb1. Log signed Vic1.

Catching up with late logs
We formulated a plan a month ago to meet up with alansee, mclookers, maccamob micaparamedic, moonb1, muzza and pprass to try our luck at some challenges and also any other series and other random caches that were around before heading to the rutherglen Mega event.
Happily this wasn't the first or the third Sunday of the month otherwise the worshippers may have been scratching their head as to why we had descended in the area but not gone to either John. The cache here was a nice quick find and the log book contains our name.
Many thanks for the cache, we signed as Vic1 to save room in the logs.

Had a fun but hot day today and found enough caches to consider the result for the day to be a reasonable one. This was one we found with goingplaces2. Log signed, all replaced. Job done!. TFTC.
We challenged ourselves today by even creating a list of caches to go and find. It was predicted to be very hot - and it was! We enjoyed the caches that were in the shade most, but still found the others as well, along with ilook4geo. This was a nice easy one to find and its log was soon signed and replaced as found. Thanks for this cache go to The Sundowners.
Early morning start for a long day of caching in and around Yass. A nice mix of challenging caches and all good quality as expected. Just in time to get the numbers up a little so I can celebrate my milestone overseas next week. Always enjoy the company of J+J.AU.

Only saw one 'John' today, and it was on a 45 degree lean! Found the cache though.
Another day in Yass, but with no rain predicted and little wind. Turned out to be a good day for caching with even a few bursts of sun.
We decided to again head out of town on a loop. We learned about Snakes of the World, Turtles of the World, Lizards of the World and even a few flags. This was mixed with a number of Challenge caches and trad or two that we past.
There were a few high ts we managed to get and also a few that were beyond our TOTT!
It was all capped off with a mega multi!
A big day, but quite successful.
Great to meet up with Sui along the way, a prolific and very creative hider.
Thank you for your efforts in creating and maintaining the cache The Sundowners.

Out again on the backroads around Yass for a morning's caching. Picked up a good number of finds, some taking longer than others but all eventually found. Took a little longer to find my way but followed my nose to the cache. Signed and replaced then onto the next. TNLNSL TFTC

Caching Boorowa to Yass
We enjoyed the caches we found, yours included.
First find of the day. It is such a shame that nobody tends these grounds. The grass it's so high you can't even make out the graves. The "Johns" have certainly seem better days.
Log signed and cache replaced as found on February 18, 2022. TFTC, The Sundowners.

Out with GreyHams for a little north of Yass caching for the day. With the new caches out the previous day and this trail looking almost complete it made for a decent trip out into the area. Add in the possibility for a FTF or two and it made for a good day out. Tankengine also had the same plan but got away a little earlier than us. We met up for the last few new caches and continued on for a few others in the area together before Tank headed home and we set of for the leisurely loop we had in mind. Thanks for your cache!
Love these older caches and had a good chuckle at the cache name! Super long grass with a slight trampled path, it was rather cool to walk through!

Out with the Capital Crunchers on a day that started fine, but ended in rain and a blackout in Yass.
Thank goodness we had climbers to do the hard yards as many of these I wouldn’t tackle alone at all. Thankfully though not all were up trees and there were some quick finds made.
All caches were found and the assistance of Sui and the Team was much appreciated. Tftc!!!

OCW the Bebes. Diverted off the motorway for this as I needed for my JASMER grid. Very long grass and a bit worries about bitey sticks but none today thankfully. A quick find once we got to GZ. TFTC

Taking a zigzag route to Wangaratta, we added an extra detour for this oldie.
Very cute church with very long grass. I dread to think what was living in there, but we didn’t see any!

Not sure about the hint as it wasn't really between? Unless there is a language barrier at fault. Nonetheless I knew I should look around everywhere and it ended up an easy enough find.
Absolutely stunning views of the field and church. Thank you for bringing me here!

Almost forgot to grab a GC cache today to keep my streak going (day 234) as I have been doing a trip from Victorian border north to Nyngan picking up GCA LGAs and DZs. I am nearly home again and managed a last minute swing in towards the GZ to gather this cache. No dirty knees and prayers were answered as I found the cache. I only wish that I had read previous logs to know that the cache needed repairs but I had just placed all my spares. I did however empty the water out of the broken zip lock bag , signed the very wet log and then replaced it all but upside down as the lid is broken, to minimise the amount of water that could enter the cache. Cache 7578 on 31 May 2021.
I had this cache marked for ages as one to collect because of its old age, not too many 2005 caches around these days. So on our way home to the ACT from a long weekend in Orange, we made it a point to drop in as a quick way to stretch our legs. Took me a few minutes to get the joke of the cache name - very funny!!! Caches was found with the lid off, so I emptied the water out and put the lid back on properly after we did the legals. No muddy knees today, but I did have to bow down and pray to find the cache!
Thanks The Sundowners for the cache and the fun!

The grass was quite wet this morning and I definitely got muddy knees. Bit of a stretch and a stick in my hair, but I got it. The container's lid is damaged, but inside was all dry.
Love the name for this one, very clever, and the church itself was lovely. I enjoyed looking around some.

TFTC great spot to pull in and stretch our legs while travelling home from Mt Kosciuszko.
Met some nice cows that geoboyfriend was talking to as he walked past the cache the first time. I went back and found it though, minus muddy knees but a lot of stretching. Beautiful countryside and a wonderful old building - and I’m not talking about the second John!
Have quite often seen this quaint old church, thanks for a reason to stop and have a better look.

After driving past this church multiple times this year, I finally got an opportunity to stop! Lovely little church and cemetery. Thanks for the hide, was a great excuse for a look around!
Was just up the road for work so before heading the long way home (via Wagga) I topped and looked for this one. John 2 is looking worse for wear and I had to really reach in to get the container, but it was quickly located, signed and returned as found.

Easy find, with a bit of bush bashing. TFTC and bringing us to this little cemetery.
Don't about dirty knees but pray you don't fall down the pit toilet. Either vandals or a frustrated geocacher have caused a bit of chaos in this part of the cemetery. Fantastic tile! No need for the apostrophe mind you
Looked around the 3 trees there, but either the grass is hiding it or I am blind.
Going for the latter.
Although I did accidently leave swag ... my hair clip ... DOH!!!

One of the Johns is coming apart, the other is resting peacefully... The cache is in good Nick! Left a TB
Found it It broke up the trip to the grandparents you definitely need to get down low.
Great hide name. Who’d of thought there were so many Johns. Picturesque views when flowering
Fun find on the way to Parkes. Took a bit of looking until we realised a George is not a John but no one was game enough to have a ‘long sit’ and think about it. TFTC
It’s been 17 years since I have been along this rd, heading back from Cowra and thought I’ve got time to do a couple of geos. I loved this cache gets a fav from me
We really liked the two “Johns” and left our first trackable Gwen to begin her journey. TFTC!

Travelling west to complete SES training it was decided a few caches would help with driver fatigue. TFTC
Last minute opportunity arose for a trip to Parkes to assist with an SES course this weekend and being a five-hour journey, it was sensible to take a break from driving every so often. What a coincidence there also seems to be a cache at appropriate intervals Arriving at GZ, our guess who or what “the Johns” referred to, turned out to not be our first choice, however a quick find and time for some photos of the cute country church.
