We're archiving this cache as it is part of a multi in the area - this wasn't an issue until we placed another cache that is also a waypoint of the same multi!
Our apologies to the owner.
This cache has always been problematic and is certainly a better waypoint than it is a cache.
Thanks to all those that have showed and interest and visited this cache.
Cheers,
HawMorFords.

My second high traffic cache for the day! I did a couple of laps around the tree before spotting the cache. I couldn't find the new log (am I blind?) so I signed the old one which was still a bit damp and returned it to its plastic bag inside the cache container. The cache is dry otherwise. TFTC.
What a great tree, I have added some pictures. Unfortunately the container was badly rusted and the log book was damp. I replaced the cache container and added a new dry log book. I placed the old log book into a new plastic bag and into the new container. TFTC
Found while meandering nearby, the cache container & log book are weathering fast!
And now I understand the "Hills" - TFTC

Not too much traffic early on a sunday morning but walkers were abound. Cache was still very wet, so I left it out in the sun for a few hours and gave it a new bag. TFTC.
aaaargh!,ye' need ye' bilge pump on this one, log book is saturated and ye' container is rustier than ye' titanic!,was gonna replace cache but all we had was reg container!thankin' ye' guys, great root system.
This was a nice easy find. It wasn't too hard to avoid the passing muggle traffic. TFTC!
Find number 8 of 8, our last after a day of walking at Mt Cootha, we walked back down to Roma St station! A fair walk especially with 4 kids along for the trek.

Found in the dark - felt very much exposed and pretended I was interested in the sign and the branch structure whenever muggles passed by. TFTC
Nabbed the little blighter at about 1145hrs...

Found by Sunshine Toledo at 1:10pm while in the area looking for caches. Quite an easy find but I baulked at looking for this one in the daytime before. Traffic was everywhere but all too busy to worry about what I was doing. TNLNSL TFTC
After doing Moreton, we may as well do Hills. Getting the hang of these now. Found at 1150 hrs. 5th for the day, 43rd for the trip.

Found it at 9:30pm with out too much trouble. A torch might have made it easier though. TFTC
Turned out to be a pretty easy find. The hardest thing was
a) Avoiding getting hit on the roundabout
b) Avoiding a lunatic in an F150 who thought he could stop his truck in 20m doing 80km/h.
Great old tree in a strange area. Good to see they are being actively conserved.

Adopted my ninja alter ego and retrieved the cache after finally getting the traffic timing right. I had to wait for another 15 minutes to replace it as a muggle decided to wait for a pickup directly opposite. He put at risk the completion of a 7 part multi, but moved on eventually - I'd better hoof it now if I want to get more than one this trip to QLD. SL TFTC
Did this one while in the process of doing "Milton Meanders". It certainly is a great old tree.
Had to say I was a tree inspector to a passing muggle. Also there was a small oppossum up in the tree.
Cheers for the cache.

A great old tree and a surprising amount of traffic given the early hour. Found eventually and made the log

Cache Condition: Dry and Well Sealed
Note: I found this awesome tree without a hitch and parked the car nearby and wandered back to find the cache. What a beauty this tree is!!! The cache was found fast and I settled down on one of the roots to examine the contents and sign the log. Thanks for bringing me out this way today! I wish I was still 5 years old … I’d be high up in the arms of this cool tree in a flash!!!!!

Have always admired this tree having driven around it many a time during visits to Toowong. A very impressive landmark on a busy roundabout. Pretended to jot down some notes (actually signed log) as the traffic careered past. Cheers!
Found this one quite easy in the daylight after a failed attempt at night. TNLN
So many car, so many people walking dogs. Once again the camera makes for a cover story. Athough I had to do the shoelace trick to return the cache as on of the neighbour came out to their car.

A nice easy find today no traffic no muggles you can be lucky sometimes.TFTC.
It's hard to look inconspicuous with all that traffic flying past. However, after 3 turns around the tree, the cache came to light. A magnificent tree that is hoping that progress will pass it by.
We love these trees. I'm not sure if this is normal behaviour however, Heads down, Butts up in the middle of the traffic. We did read the plaque and try to look as inconspicuous as possible! SL TFTC
Round I went. And round again. And again. And again. Finally I looked in the correct spot. Lovely area this morning. Love those houses.
Was here doing another cache that covers the general area with the man who set it himself. Initially tried with a black and white print of the photo, looking in colour certainly helps. Disturbed an ants nest while getting the cache.
Went for a lunchtime stroll with Dtay today - who is working is way through Milton Meander.
Found the cache fairly quickly with the photo - I let Dave battle with the ants to extract it

This was my third Rooted cache, so I knew the score. Not that it helped much - I still needed to root around in the roots for quite some time, poking my torch here and there. Many cars passed, concentrating on the traffic, but I had to desist when pedestrians passed by. I eventually found it at 20:30 as part of a 10 km walk around the area.
Thanks for another one in this great series.

Seem to remember meandering about here on a previous hunt. A bit hard to have full stealth mode with a tribe of kids, but I feigned interest in the information plaque while they did the actual finding.
Found this one with a friend at some strange hour of the night. It was an interesting evening i must say full of adventure! thank you for the cache
We checked the picture before we got there & that made this one quite easy. Of course, we have seen this tree before as part of another multi cache in the area. Thanks for bringing us here again.
The triple bagging effort hasn't kept the bags entirely dry, but fortunatley the cache itself wasn't wet.

Thought Id have a go at this one on the way to work tonight - Despite a couple of passer bys and light traffic I managed to find this one in about 30 secs (2155 hrs)- filled out the log back in the car and returned cache back in its hiding spot. Ahhh to be sure, to be sure, to be sure - this ones never gonna get wet after some over zealous bagging - lol.
Thanks for the cache.

I dropped by this afternoon to take a look and carry out some maintenance.
I dried out the container and enclosed it in a bag, in a bag and finally, to be sure, in a bag. The soaked log book and stash note have also been replaced.
Please ensure you exercise a little care as not to puncture the bags when retrieving and returning the cache and also, enclose it in the bags as you found it.
Thanks

Hmmmmm! I can't understand how the log book got wet. Everything was perfectly dry when I found it only four days previously. I sealed it up properly in the zip-lock bag, and replaced it well under cover. Has there been heavy rain in Brisbane in the intervening days?

Up in town (from Victoria) for a meeting today, I just had to try and find a cache or two before I left.
A magnificent specimen of nature is this location. While I love this tree on other peoples property I'm not sure I'd like one in my backyard. The roots are deadly. However, I love them when they are in locations like this.
Arriving with Uncle Gary and Lindy Lou in tow, I was the first to find the cache hidden in its cunning location. Unfortunately the log book is soaking wet and we could barely write our log so we kept it short.
This one will need maintenance to dry it out, lest it rust and / or go mouldy.
Took nothing, left nothing.
Thanks HawMorFords. A wonderful location to start my afternoon and evening of geocaching in your fair city.

First of seven finds for my last night in Brisbane. Goodbye nemesis cache! I sallied forth after work with a set jaw, a look of grim determination, and an A4 printout of the picture from the cache page. I didn't fancy going back to Melbourne tomorrow with this one still on the "to do" list!
Although I can't claim that any credit is due on my behalf. I had received verbal help from wingaap, and I had the benefit of the picture posted on the cache page, and an email from HawMorFords. As pprass would say, it was a GAFF5 find--someone showed me exactly where the cache was! I was determined to find this one before going home, and I nabbed it, in less than a minute, after work at 1730. I can't understand how I missed it the last two times. Obviously, I didn't look properly. There was nothing to exchange, so I just signed the log. Thanks to HawMorFords for the cache, and for having pity on a poor, hapless Victorian, down on his luck.

A quick maintenance visit this afternoon - checked the cache and found it to be safe and sound.
I replaced the broken bag and also left a spare, all in good shape and awaiting Dak's return.

Well, I went back to this cache after work for some more punishment. I looked in every nook and cranny I could find. I even rang the wingaap help line and was told exactly where to look, but I still couldn't find it. All up, I spent about 30 minutes there tonight. I gave it away at 1745. Either the cache is missing, or it is too well hidden for my meagre talents. Probably the latter.
Aaarrgghh! I've just seen the HawMorFords note about the cache still being there! I knew it was my meagre talents that were the problem. [B)] I'll have another go tomorrow night.
After having read the previous logs, and having received some further information from a local cacher who shall remain nameless, it looks like I didn't look in the right places for this one. (So much for "I honestly think this one has walked"! ) I'll go back and have another go before I leave on Friday evening.
This was to be the second find of 25 for the day, but it turned out to be a DNF. After having trouble at "Pioneers - Surrounded", this no find made me think that it was going to be a loooong day. (It got better from here on, actually.) I recognised this tree from a previous visit, thanks to Rogainer. Anyhow, I searched all the buttresses three times, getting more and more thorough as I went. No cigar! I even searched around the 'flying buttresses', with the same result. I gave it away at 1215. I honestly think this one has walked. Thanks to HawMorFords for the cache. If it's replaced before the end of the week, perhaps I can have another go at it.
14:37hrs Finding this cache was easy, getting it into the open was an issue. The clipseal bag is ripped as we had to use a couple of sticks like tweezers to remove it from it's spot. No spare bag on us, so we wrapped it up as best we could and didn't put it all the way back. Should be easily retrieved by the next finder.
I didnt have the Co-ords in my GPS, but took a hunch which tree it would be, but after about 15 mins of hunting around, we had to give up. If it was the right tree, it wasnt an easy find that's for sure.
We'll be back with the Co-ords next time.
We'll be back with the Co-ords next time.
Well this did prove to be a little harder than I had expected. I made my first attempt at it yesterday but couldn’t even get out of my car. As I pulled over and looked up all I could see was a swarm of cops, one of them even had his gun out, a radar gun.
This afternoon I was successful, eventually. That was a tricky hide
Now I just need the one in the city however I may need a second mortgage for the parking fees
Found: 1615
Thanks Guys

Those who have done "Milton meander" should find this spot very familiar...
I would have gone for a lunchtime walk today to find this, but it was too hot - maybe next week.

I knew from the cache description the particular tree and its location. However I missed the cache on the first attempt! After searching for a while this morning I decided to come back later as some of the drivers going past me in the morning rush hour were probably going to be coming home again soon and might wonder what I was up to Found on the second go this arvo. This one is very well hidden.
Easy when you know what you are looking for
What an exposed position....I must confess that I did feel just a tad uncomfortable attempting this cache. However, there was a cache to be had...and a FTF at that.
Found at 7.18pm
Thanks HawMorFords for part 2 of a great series
