A girls’ day out today with SaintsMadHouse, KBreeAHH and Just A Trifle. The plan was to do maintenance on one of SaintsMadHouse ‘s caches in Rathdowney, and grab whatever else we needed en route.
I was the only one who needed this cache, and was lucky to make it pretty quick find - SaintsMadHouse was surprised, as she had decided to get out and help me look, but I found it before the search had really begun.
Thanks for the cache WitchPig.

It was super fun to find it s pretty easy for biginers you might get a little dirty
It was not to hard to find for my first geocache and had a lot of fun thank you.
tip
You need to make your way through the weed to find it
you'll probably get a little dirty

Was a good find for mine and my 10 year old daughters first time

Today, the morning plan was hiking to Upper Portals, utilising the [Picnic at Upper Portals](https://coord.info/GCA4KJT) event as an opportunity to visit this popular destination. An enjoyable group in attendance to make the 4WD drive and walk down, and a fortunate weather window to have completed that too. I then took a drive home via Rathdowney and Beaudesert, although I questioned the sanity of geocaching as I was caught in very heavy rain storms, which made me keep driving and adjust plans in order to not get drenched. Highlights included visiting Kooralbyn and seeing the kangaroos and wallabies around the streets, and completing the [JUBILEE PARK WALKING TOUR](https://labs.geocaching.com/goto/ead2c608-a9f7-40ee-803c-dd6392e5fa40) Adventure Lab in Beaudesert.
A really enjoyable visit to Kooralbyn in seeing this out-of-the-way town, and there were kangaroos/wallabies about as I drove to this location. I did read the hint as I walked up to the wall, but despite what the hint said, I actually found the cache inside the cavity. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks WitchPig for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance. It was nice to have found this oldie 01/2006 hidden cache, of which is one of Queensland's 500 oldest yet active geocaches.

Well, I have a new car, and this is my first weekend with her. Road trip!!! So I refuelled, picked up a geocompanion, and hit the road. Brisbane to Christmas Creek via Wyaralong Dam, with some stunning countryside in between. The new wheels have AWD and we sullied her on the gravel - can confirm the AWD works a charm! It was the perfect day to be inside an airconditioned car, with the sun roof open and the tunes up. Just fabulous.
Thanks for the cache!
Thanks for the cache!
Found it. Inside damp, lid was bit loose. Cleaned it up and closed properly. Tftc!
A fairly easy find as the cache was a little bit in the open and I could see where other people had fought their way through the weeds to get to it.
The log was too damp to sign and I re hid the cache better than I found it. Hopefully it’s right, it will need some maintenance

Grass very overgrown and lots of cobblers pegs to contend with. But was quite obvious when you stood back and had a good look.
I decided last night to visit the lovely Scenic Rim chasing a couple of attributes for a challenge or two…
So with 14 targets, including a FTF, I set off at 7am this morning… at Browns Plains I realised I’d left my day pack at home… so back I went which meant I was about an hour behind… oh well…
I’ve never seen the Kooralbyn Resort before, even though I remember the fanfare when it opened… I was surprised as to the size of the community out here…
I made this much harder than it needed to be, but if I hadn’t I wouldn’t have met next weeks curry…
Once at the correct level it was a quick find… tftc…

Out today to continue my challenges of a trad a day and a cache a day, I was invited on a tag along drive trip with JACS TEAM, hitting some target caches. It was good for me to experience and see how effortless caching can be and I learnt heaps from the experience of Sheridan; thank you for a great day.
Our target caches were aimed at the d/t grid, attributes and older caches. There was one particular cache that helped JACS TEAM complete their 6th loop of the d/t grid, congratulations.
This cache was an easy find and an oldie for the list, all good with cache. With log signed and cache returned as we found it, it was off to the next one on our list.
Thank you for placing this one here and I will be back to grab the others in the area at a later date.

Thursday. Out today caching in this area whilst geo-hubby was playing golf with his friends. Only 3 caches in this little township eh? That and a runway for sale. Arrived at GZ, ah Cobblers... well, that was all I could see. I knew I was in for it. Re-read the hint and thought I should probably go 'up there' just to see if I could see the cache from there. Nope. Headed back down and looked again in the same spot I had just looked at a few minutes earlier. Oh, there you are! Excellent. Managed to grab the cache and a crap load of cobblers pegs in my clothes and hair. Oh well, I’ve got time, may as well use it pulling out these before I get back into the car and leave the bush where I found it Good to grab another oldie. Container is in good condition and log was dry. Wasn’t sure if I jotted our name over the top of a previous log that had kind of vanished as there was pale ink everywhere. Got to see some lovely roos nearby too.
This was the 1st of 12 caches found on this outing.
Thanks ***WitchPig*** for showing us this place

This weekend I was working in Kooralbyn with my muggle partner on a new house with spectacular views. I was excited to see there were a few caches nearby, including an oldie, so I took off from work as soon as we finished to collect a few smilies. I pulled up close to gz here and made a quick find thanks to the hint, ploughing through the sea of cobblers pegs in front of the hide. Log signed and all returned I turned the car around to head off to the motel for the night, picking cobblers pegs off me as I went. Tftc WitchPig
Been wanting to get this oldie for a while, and was in town today with a bit of spare time on my hands, so made my way to GZ and made the find. Started searching to high and was at a much easier location when I laid my hands on the stash.
Everything is in good condition, and nice and dry obviously. There's not much water around at the moment, I'd be surprised to see any wet log books lately. Thanks, WitchPig!

Woke early today, flipped city living the bird & headed south for a day of caching, country roads & some peace & quiet.
A bit of a scurry & scamper soon had Mrs VC in place to grab the cache.
Nice quick find.
The ants really seem to like this cache.
Made our mark & replaced as found.

Felt like looking for a few caches, so put my geodog Scruffy in the car and headed to the Rathdowney area for the day.

This was another cache we enjoyed ,mainly because this was new territory for us which always makes it interesting.TFTC
Out caching with the Tough Mothers (Bennyboppers, Lisylou and Jemillalucy). I went up top which you didn’t need to. TFTC!
Getting away from the Coast for a few days in Kooralbyn this week. Wow it's light on caches out this way so I made sure we found both.
Going by the hint, I'm not entirely sure it's where it's suppose to be. But I did find it after climbing up and getting covered in farmers friends.
Plenty of wild life to see out here.

Family trip out for an afternoon drive. We thought we had to climb.. turns out no rock climbing skills are needed no pen, so here's a photo
Thx for the cache, was in a small sistema container. Maybe co needs to update description.
Getting back into the caching and catching up on some old logs. Found this not long after moving into Kooralbyn, but due to family and personal commitments that needed attending to, have not been able to log.
Found it a little tricky being close to houses, but in the end a fairly easy find, if not hard on the ankles with the rocks.

Headed over to Kooralbyn today to find this cache.
I did not attempt last time as muggle neighbours were staring from their balcony above so I left.
Today there was just noise from the neighbour across the way but was not visible to me.
A quick scrutiny as to where this could be and in I went and had the cache in hand.
Signed the log and returned cache to where I found it.
TNLNSL TFTC Thanks WitchPig All good with this cache

Was a small sistemic container. Nice find. We added a small medalion with '1908'.
Found sistema after looking further down the hill than we should have been. Beautiful country
Out caching for the day with Diamonjs and Aussie Liahona. This was a quick find for us today. TFTC.
I had tried for this one before only to have what felt like the whole of Origin Qld trucks pull up around us, so we called it quits that day. Today while out on a lovely days caching it was and easy find.TFTC
Great cache! Thanks for the new log - cache still a little wet. TNLNLC. JoStock - 2 Jan 2015, found 11.
I know where it is but I was being stared at from above and not to compromise the cache I will return another time
Nice find, a bit wet, thanks for the contribution to our darling Ava's money box!
Thanks Gullivers travels.
Thanks Gullivers travels.
cache find #2125. This was another cache find that we did with our newbie geocaching friends lyjandjaz. The very wet cache was located quickly. A replacement log sheet and bag was put into the cache as the existing log sheet is too soggy to sign. Water was emptied out from the cache also. TFTC.
Found it, TFTC. This is my last day In Australia. Tomorrow, back to BELGIUM after three weeks !
Another beautiful sunny winter's day.
I planned to head way south to check out a campsite I used to go to regularly as I had heard the bridge to cliffs had washed away. It has.
So on the way I just HAD to stop for a few caches.
I am now making my way home ... via a few more caches.
I have never been into Kooralbyn so I enjoyed the drive around.
The cache and log book are damp and could use a bit of drying out. I normally have a teatowel for this but it is in the wash at the moment.
Thanks for the cache.

Wasnt so easy but my son found it with team mellissa emblen cheers happy looking
After a weekend at Christmas Creek I drove in here on the way home. There were muggles working and talking at the fence line above so given the logs mentioned 2 cache containers I decided to poke around below. Bingo up/out pops the cache at the lower elevation
Had to read the logs to see it had been replaced a d repositioned. Thanks for the cache.
Kooralbyn seems like an interesting spot. I have a bit of history chasing to do on the area now I think. We arrived at GZ and started the hunt up and around. Nothing appeared and we started to have a read through previous logs. Seeing that the cache had been replaced and repositioned, we adjusted our search and found the sistema. Reading through the logs now it looks like a larger cache is also in place there? Didn't find that one though. Thanks WitchPig
After having hiked up Mt Maroon today, it was now a matter of driving home. Thankfully I had a Fangsoki driver, and he was happy for me to collect a couple of caches as we passed by. This one was near the route, sort of, so we called in. With Captain Terror also keen for a look we two mozied on over for a rather quick grab. Cache container has changed since Fangsoki was here, and sadly it was brimming with water. It had apparently also moved slightly[?][?][?] We poured the water out and managed to inscribe names on the soggy mass of paper using my write-on-anything pen, but it needs a good airing/drying or replacing.
Thanks for placing this cache, WitchPig.

The logbook has been drowned and needs a lot of TLC. Container is not waterproof sadly.
Reading logs for this one suggests there are two caches here.
I was here today with PPrime and Fangsoki. With the hint in mind PPrime and I headed upwards and after widening our search somewhat came across the toolbox. Not sure where the ammo tin ever went, but the plastic box is not suitable for a cache at all. It was very wet inside, logbook included. We managed to get our names in there all the same.
Naturally we didn't keep looking but it seems Aussie Liahona has left an 'easier' to find cache down the bottom?
Kooralbyn is not a place I'd ever visited until today, it's all a bit sad to see it so decrepit, especially the large airstrip. TFTC WithcPig, not a place I'd have come without the cache here

It was good to cross this one off the list at last. When we've been in the vicinity we have never had time to detour up here. We were surprised how big the township is. Thanks AL for replacing the cache. We enjoyed seeing all the roos and wallabies along the grass verges. TFTC.
I've been here before and found this cache so knew where to look, and for what exactly. Cache was nowhere we could find today. No finders since November last year so this one could have been missing. To save the cache we replaced it with a 200ml brown sistema in the crevice below where it used to reside. It's hidden by a small rock. If the cache owner isn't happy then please remove our cache we left and replace it with your own, or something else. No worries.
Visiting from Newcastle NSW, staying with my brother in Nerang, great to have an invitation to join Aussie Liahona for a maintenance run out west, ammo can appears to be missing, Aussie Liahona replaced with a smaller Sistema, TFTC WitchPig!!
Not ammo box anymore. Is more of a plastic tackle box. Still an amazing find!!!!!
Been to Kooralbyn many times in years gone by, but that was b4 caching Dropped in on the way home from a hike up Mt May for Summit More and Summit Less Found this one with the hint
#4 for this afternoon. A little more difficult for senior legs but safely retrieved.
Nice big cache container made it easier to find once the hint was followed.

Didn't need a cache today, but came for a country drive with a friend who had to pick something up out this way. Couldn't resist the opportunity to grab at least one cache even tho' said friend is not a geocacher. We drove around the area for a stickybeak and then honed in on the cache. Found quickly after a bit of light exertion. The cache is indeed large and plenty of good clean stuff inside. I don't know if this is the original container which was placed here in January 2006, but the joints are getting a little stiff so if the next geocacher could take some WD40 or similar it might assist. We hope the resort gets it's hoped for resusitation sooner than later. What a shame it's closed down. We've been out here in the past and family members have enjoyed the facilities of the resort.
