Nice walk around this side of the island. Found the light but no sign of the cache. There is a fairly new looking fence around some private property, I thought there was a few likely hiding spots on the other side.
teamdfl and I are tripping around the islands today, making use of the Redland Bay ferry service. Very pleased they let us take our bikes on board!
We took the hard way down to this cache but were also confronted by a formidable fence We checked the possible spots on the outside, but I'm guessing the real one is just on the other side of the fence...

Out and about with IolantheK on another freaky Friday. A nice cruisey day. A great day out with the geocycles and the ferries.
We had planned to do this a while ago, but the weather that day was terrible. The forecast was not good for today either, but at least it would be warm even if it did rain.
This was our first port of call for the day. It was not a good start to the proceedings. A new property has sprung up very close to GZ.
We checked a few possible spots on the right side of the fence, but there are two better looking spots on the wrong side of the fence.

Someone has gone and put a nice new fence around this stump, blocking public access. We climbed up the hill to see if there was a way around the fence, only to find the property owner staring at us with his arms folded over his chest - maybe he heard me try and jump over the soft wire fence?
I am unaware of the new fence mentioned but will investigate ASAP -as far as I remember it was on public land .
Thanks

Quick find by geo-girl whilst out for the day in our tinnies. It was out in the open. We've put it back and hidden it better.
Great paddle in mykayak called in on way around karra. Yesterday I saw dolphins in this passage and hoped to run into them again today but they weren't there. Went specially for the geo coin which the owner has recovered. Cache was fine despite heavy rain overnight. This is why I love caching. Tftc
Whew I'm 6 ft and had to use sticks as chops sticks to reach it, thought it was in another place similar spen t 10 mins digging in. Left a trackable took shell. Box may be getting wet inside as a few things moldy.
Not sure about that paddling talked about in the description of this one, but today certainly held a lot of peddling! All four islands by bike with Captain Terror for company This was our first stop for the morning and by far our easiest bike ride. The Captain had already found this one quite a few moons ago so watched while I hunted. Hmmm, I was looking in the right spot but nothing. The Captain then had a bit of a dig about and out popped the cache. Yay! Nice spot for a cache.
Thanks for the cache culture50

Well I felt very much like Flash Gordon waiting for the Wood Beast to strike me dead on this cache. Have been visiting this Island for a couple years now - was always racing to catch the ferry that we didn't have time to grab this find on the way. But today was a little different - we had the time for a stroll and the cache was soon in hand. Thanks Culture50 for the Cache. Sorry to say but there doesn't seem to have been any TB in this cache now. Cheers!
Did this one by myself as the other natives were getting tired and restless. I don't come from Longreach but it sure would have helped as this was a long way in.

Lovely day to be out on the bay. Hopped off on KG Island here first to grab this cache. Wandered over and found the likely hidey hole. Peered in and didn't fancy the idea of putting my hand in there. Did anyways with no troubles. Now for a quick trip to the park and a walk before heading off to Lamb Island.
Thankfully I was with Rifferous as he was braver than me. This is a good hide in a lovely spot. Well worth the trip.
Found it whilst out on the boat with goodlooker and geodog. No travel Bug to be found. TNLN. TFTC.
Not a huge fan of putting my hand in places where there could be a spider of two, but reached in and had cache in hand. TFTC. TNLNSL.
Cycling around this island with Ozymru.
Thanks good ness She could reach it. Im shorty!
Thanks for the hunting.

Back on the ferry on off to Karra. The geokids opted for a swim in the enclosure, they deserved it. MrPiggy & Mrbee headed off. Thankfully the cache was well suspended & retrieval was easy. Dropped TB to capture its trip. TFTC
Found this one whilst over to attend Island Time. What a great day we had - such great company all day. Thanks for the cache.
Followed the madmyers from the lunch location to this cache. By the time I arrived they had already retrieved the cache. Took a geocoin. TFTC
Thankfully we had a long arm with us on this island as neither nyself or Murt had any hope of reaching it. We left it hanging in a much easy position for the next person to find. Left a stamp. Thanks.
A quick find by Mongy, signed, popped the bag back into its hidey hole, not realising how deep the hidey hole was. Had to retrieve it and make it a bit easier to get out for the next cacher. We then wandered off to the meet
Our first find on this island (the third we visited on the Island Day Event cache day). Great hidey hole but not as easy to retrieve as we hoped. Swapped toys. SL. TFTC.
Found after lunch with the cachers nearby.
I think this is where I swapped something for a keyring!

Not so much the hero as having confidence that nothing would bite through my welding glove before I could extract my hand and run away very quickly. Our 4th island, 5th cache from 6 attempts and 7 in total. Now, there's a nice bit of numerical progression. TN/LN/SL. Strolled, over to the other Karragarra Island cache while we waited for the ferry.
Back on the Waterbus with our bikes for a short ride acros to 'Karra' as the locals know it. Island walks are always enjoyable. Made friends with a large dog who just wanted to be patted. The previous 2 logs for the day say it all about who the 'hero' was cos it sure wasn't going to be me. (I have very short arms!) TFTC TN LN
Spotted fairly easily today from above, but not so easy to access - the previous finder described the situation well. Luckily Mr Lat and Long Junkie was up to the challenge, and just managed to extract the cache while Mrs L&LJ, Bedmaker and I let him be the hero! Before putting it back I placed a bit of bark etc under it, so hopefully the reach won't be quite so difficult for the next finder. TNLN and thanks to culture50 for the cache.
We were out for a nice afternoon on Karragarra, as this has been my nearest unfound cache for at least 6 months. We arrived just after high tide, but the beaches were still nice and a light breeze was (temporarily) keeping the mozzies at bay. As we approached the site, my GPSr was giving me about 15m error, so I had to look around a bit. After 5 minutes of barking up (or under) the wrong tree, I expanded my search, and then I spotted the spot. Aha, I said to Janet and the kids. But then, I approached, and the chances seemed lower and lower as I peered deeper and deeper into the waiting maw.
I thought to myself "Is that it?" Surely you jest. How on earth do I get to that? There was sunlight, maybe another way in. Nope, that way was even farther. How to do it? It took a minute for me to get up the nerve, but on went the glove, in went the arm, and out came the cache. I'm sure glad I'm not short
I had a few coins and TBs in tow today that stopped in for a visit as well, before the mozzies returned and carted us all away.
TFTC!

I have been very remiss at logging this trackable. It came for a visit to this cache a little while ago.
Great spot for a swim play and BBQ pitty we were on a mission. OH well next time. TFTC.
A quick easy find but luckily we brought along those go-go gadget arms or we would never have reached the cache. TFTC.
Found while on a day trip to the island. Rather warm to be out caching to day, but a very pleasent location. TFTC
aaaargh!,another great location, found with the new crew for ye' black skull,ye'hawmorfords, just beat a couple muggles in puttin' back!thanks ftc.
Today was the day to sail the bay with a real Pirate - how excited Denise and I were !!!
We've had this planned for a couple of months now and have been looking forward to our big day out very much.
Aqua series - Karragrra was our seventh find of the day aboard the Black Skull.
This was to be a fairly quick find though we had to bide our time as there were a few muggles about.
Thanks to culture50 for the cache.

The fifth caching experience of our excursion to the islands with THENANKS and Broc today. A lovely location and the water looked flat and inviting would be lovely to have a paddle. With the clue the cache was found easily. Took travel bug and left nothing. Thanks for the cache.
We really like this island, it has a nice "feel" about it. We cycled and walked from a nearby cache and 6 year old Tom found this one!
This was our last cache on the islands today but keep a look out for a new one that we placed!
In : bracelet and ring set, clamp and marbles
Out: glow stick, mini face washer and chap stick
Thanks to Culture50 for the cache.

Found the cache at 3.15pm. Great another lovely island. Left: Travel Bug. Thank you for organise the cache and hunt.
Lovely boat ride from Redland Bay. It took a while to get the cache out. My friend and I had to use the sticks to lift it up! Watch out for more caches that I plan to set up at this same and other islands.
Worth a trip.
Thanks
Worth a trip.
Thanks
Yipee found it easy - yes we dont have long arms but we use chop sticks to pull it out. nice cache. thanks SL
Found after a short search at GZ. (GPS +/- 7m) Excellent location. Nice close location to Aqua Series - Lambs Revenge also. TNLNSL - thanks heaps.
PS for those without a boat the ferry from Redland Bay runs here everyday many times a day and this is a popular picnic and swimming area for daytrippers from the mainland. Goto http://www.translink.com.au/qt/TransLin.nsf/index/ferryservices for timetables etc. Why should us boat owners have all the fun?

This is a beautiful bit of the bay, with it's narrow channels and bushland fringed by mangroves. Best of all you can drop into MacLeay Island after finding the cache, for a pie and a soft drink (at the boat ramp, not at the pub! I still had to paddle the kayak back to the mainland). Found the cache quite easily but arms not long enough. 10mins with a tree branch finally got it out of its hidey hole
Took a fishing lure and left a car and key tag (I think)
