This geocache was brought to my attention as being in need of an owner maintenance visit. The cache owner needs to check on this cache ASAP and either replace it or archive it, after picking up any geo-litter. See the [maintenance section of the Geocache Listing Requirements/Guidelines](http://www.geocaching.com/about/guidelines.aspx#listingmaintenance).
I've added this cache to my watchlist, and I will check back in four weeks to be sure that the maintenance has been done. In the meantime, I have temporarily disabled this listing. When the maintenance is completed, the owner can enable the listing by clicking on the link below the cache name to return it to active status.
Whatever your intentions, please **post a note** here on the cache page (not email) to let us know that you are still active and maintaining the cache.
If you plan on repairing this cache, please log a note to the cache (not email) within the next 30 days so I don't archive the listing for non-communication.

I can also confirm the 2020 bushfires have burned out both sides of the highway (we didn't get out to search for the cache). The CO hasn't logged on for a year, so I'm not sure if this one will be maintained.
Highly suspect that it no longer there. The fires have been thru and the stated log is a chard remain
Hunted in the blackened charred temains but no find. Take eater for cleaning black soot after search.
Tumut - Canberra invasion. Collecting a few more smileys in the area as I head home. TFTC.
Found with nissan 65 on a few day away caching. Decided on Tumut and Cooma before heading home to the Shoalhaven. Thanku for the cache.
After not being able to find the last cache we looked for and then not being able to find anywhere to park for the next one, I was happy to be able to make the find here. No wombats spotted, mores the pity
Found while on my way to Tumut. This cache is wet I was able to sign the log though. TFTC.
We looked for a good while here and ended up not finding the cache. We will be back for another look on our next outing.
Another awesome day in the mountains! From the power station at Talbingo to the Blue Waterholes, this was another excellent day for exploring with the geo-crew! TFTC
Last full day of exploring the snowy mountains saw us travel to Talbingo and back to the beautiful Blue Waterholes before heading back to Adaminaby for our last night. Picked up a bunch of great caches along the way with AWTYOW, Geogangstas and Gabstar. TFTC
Gabstar is a better cacher than all of us... she showed us up here for our blindness. TFTC
4 of us looking really hard... After ten minutes Gabstar (who hadn't been feeling the best) hops out and says, let me look. She literally bent down and said here it is. The men wanted to scream... I stood there laughing hysterically in disbelief. She has the touch! TFTC
This is our fourth trip to the northern island this year. The first three were primarily for family events but with some opportunities to do some caching along the way. The fourth trip is different as caching is our focus. After getting off The Spirit of Tasmania we are heading north to cache at Wangaratta and then Yass before heading into the ACT and Queanbeyan for a week. After that we will travel to Jindabyne for a few days with summiting Mount Kosciuszko being our main target for this part of our trip. Then we will visit Cooma and Tumut before heading back down the track through Wangaratta and Mansfield as we make our way to Alexandra for the MEGA. After the weekend we will continue to make our way south and back onto the Spirit of Tasmania for the “drive” across Bass Strait. We are really looking forward to three weeks of intense caching in great areas and, hopefully, catching up with some geocachers in each of the areas we will visit.
This morning we left Jindabyne after an enjoyable stay and exploration of the area. We travelled along the Snowy Mountains Highway, arriving at Tumut for the night. We took a number of detours off the highway to visit numerous areas, in particular some aspects of the Snowy Mountains Hydro Electric Scheme. Being from Tasmania where hydro electricity is our main form of energy, it was interesting to see the picturesque lakes and the constructions such as the Blowering Dam and the Tumut 3 Power Station. Although the Snowy scheme is much bigger, we noticed many similarities between the Snowy and the Mersey-Forth schemes. We also spent a few hours caching around Tumut. Although the town must have derived great benefit during the construction phase of the Snowy Mountains Scheme, it was pleasing to see how the community had accepted the challenge and diversified once construction of the hydro scheme finished. Tumut now appears to be a thriving community with a strong timber and timber products based.
Despite accurate coordinates it still took a minute or so to search for the cache as there was considerable leaf litter covering the container. The logbook was damp but was still signable. Thanks Rescue-201 for the cache. No wombats were seen today.
***** We are currently writing detailed logs because of a challenge provided by Project-GC. "The Author" Badge challenges geocachers to average one hundred words or more in each log. On 1 September 2017 our average was 86 which seems close to the 100 target. However given that we have found so many GC caches, we have to write many logs with well over 100 words for a long period of time to get our average to the target. Apologies to anyone who finds the logs tedious but it is the only way that we can strive to attain this challenge. After 408 caches (which includes all cache finds up and including yesterday), the average log length is just over 96.5. We are now entertaining the possibility that we might be able to achieve our gaol before this trip ends. Progress has been better than anticipated.*****

found it after the GPS initially had us on the wrong side of the road then corrected itself & the find was made fairly quickly

Log 1099 Streak Day 309
On our way home from our Easter weekend in Jindabyne, so we decided to take the long way home and do some sightseeing/caching with the geonephew, SuperSeb0608 and my muggle parents in tow.
Our second stop for the day - a little misleading as it is actually on the other side of the road, but found it without too much trouble once we zeroed in.
Log book very soggy!

In the Mountains for the June Long Weekend with Juno, and this was a quick road side stop for us.
No trouble finding this one, which was a pleasant surprise after a couple of DNFs!
Cheers

Day six of our High Country holiday. Starting at Jindabyne, driving to Tumut.
Turned left at Berridale, up thru Middlingbank, to the Big Fish for morning tea.
From there to the caves at Yarrangobilly Caves for a tour and lunch, then on to Tumut..
A very scenic drive.
No time to try out the walking trails today (we spent too long at the Caves!), but to stop for a cache? Sure!
Thanks, Robmc.

# 9942. Today we are travelling from Jindabyne to Tumut and we have left early so we can do some caching on the way and visit the Yarrangobilly Caves (that was a major sort of detour)! There was certainly some lovely scenery on our drive.
Fortunately, we did not encounter any wombats but we did find a very wet cache. We wiped it out and put the log book in a new plastic bag. Hopefully, it will be OK for a while now.
Thanks Rescue-201

Found it! Was still a little bit of snow on the ground at the cache from the weekend before. Snow ball fight!!!
What a day! We planned a drive to Tumbarumba, then Tumut and back to Wagga, but took a wrong turn somewhere. As we found a constant trail of caches, we were happy to continue. We passed through some pretty country, and stopped at some amazing places. Travelled up, down and around some big hills, and along some very winding roads. By the time we were ready to head back to the caravan, the GPS read that we were 210kms away, so we arrived back much later than planned.
Cache was found quickly, and in good condition.
Many thanks for placing this cache, Rescue-201, for us and others to find.

Fortunately it wasn’t necessary to fully join the wombat to find this. TFTC Rescue-201.
We were up early to do the run from Tumut to Batlow, Tumbarumba along Elliot Way to Yarrangobilly (for a swim and cache) then on to Talbingo and back to Tumut. It was wet and misty at the start of the day but fined up nicely and we had a great day of exploring and visiting areas we have not been to before. We enjoyed doing your cache. Thanks to Rescue-201 for placing this cache.
Found after retrieving a geo-scout-daughter from yet another adventure, you would have thought that spending a weekend in the bush with scouts and finding alpine geocaches would have been enough for one little body, but no, we had to stop and find this one as well. We enjoyed the hunt, tired as we were, and while we were merely filthy before our stop then she had an excuse to be thoroughly filthy and gloriously muddifed by the end of the search....and scratched. Obviously our search was made much harder than necessary but ultimately it was successful. We will return here with the rest of the troop for a walk down to Landers Falls. Thanks Rescue-201 for the cache.
A quick stop here in the morning on our way to Mt Selwin for a days skiing, We soon located the cache and signed the log. We dried it out as much as possible given the conditions. Thanks for the cache Rescue-201.
Tftc. Cache was wet so moved to a drier location. All details and hint still apply.
Found this one during our month long tour of SE Australia. It is our intention to find as many caches as possible during our stay and as a result logistics dictate that this generic log will have to suffice .Hope the cache owners, to whom we extend our gratitude for their efforts, will all understand the reasons for this. All good wishes from us both.

We have returned from Canada to discover a few more Australian caches! What a great way to explore the "land down under."
GPS was jumping around in the trees so used the clue. Nice hide. No wambats here today!
Thanks for the fun Rescue-201!

It had me fooled until I spotted its nice concealment covering. Cache was a little damp inside, but the log was dry. Picked up Path Tag, thanks.
A nice easy drive by, except that we drove right past and had to do a U-ie and go back. TNLN
Your are correct about the PS signal being confused by all the tall trees. Thankfully persistence by Mr Ski found the cache without too much trouble.

No wombat today either, but this sure looks like his/her home. The cache is still as previously noted--the log's a little damp, but otherwise OK. TFTC!
More worried about slithery things than wombats, but no wildlife at all. Just a wet cache - but the log book is dry. TFTC
Looked for the wombat but he was not at home. The cache is wet but the log is dry. TFTC

It was a beautiful drive through the forest here but we didn't have time to linger today. I hope we can come back and enjoy some of the walking tracks. I found the cache easily and luckily the local resident wasn't home What a lovely location
Time to head from Canberra back towards Adelaide through the mountains - wow look at all the caches.
Picked up around 30 today. TFTC.

Quick find and we were on our way to Talbingo. Found a new look out just down the road which is fantastic!
found stuck all the way in and having to stick my hand all the way up to my shoulder was not fun. TFTC
Found on our way to Wagga. No wombat home today.Nice quick drive by cache. Thanks Rescue 201. TNLN SL Silky Seekers Brisbane
A quick find with SecretSquirrel-BJC on our way home after checking out Yarrangobilly caves.
Found this cache at 4:40pm while staying in Talbingo and travelling thru the mountains for a few days. This was a nice log and some nice big bull ants. The cache was a bit damp. put log book in a plastic bag.
Took: Grizzly bear and Left: New Zealand thong keyring
Thanks Rescue-201 for the hide.

It was in a nook probably right next to where everybody else had looked. Looking at consecutive finds then non- finds may have suffered a little cache-creep. Not visible but found it with the hand, Took a trackable and pathtag that weren't listed.
Nobody was home so we poked around for a bit. Sadly, we have to add our names to the DNF list.
I was just looking back on my trip to Wagga for the Mega Event and I spotted this cache which I suddenly remembered visiting on my way to Jindabyne on the Monday afterwards. I didn't find the cache and, when I checked the logs, guessed it was probably missing - but I must have forgotten to record it at the time. I got a bit of a surprise to see the 'found' log by [red]up da x[/red] but, on checking their 'finds' history, they're obviously trolls and they didn't visit this cache at all and all their logs should be deleted.
Sorry it wasn't there - but I had a great time sightseeing and caching along the Snowy Mtns Hwy.
Thanks anyway Rescue-201

Poked around where GPS had us for a while but no sign of cache! Note now though that 3rd DNF in row so maybe cache has grown legs. Or as geokid suggested, may have been eaten by a Kangawallafox or a dropbear! Very snaky little location so got spooks after 20mins and decided to move on.
Had a good poke around in the dirt and litter using a long stick without success.
Explored several nearby sites that also resembled the description but decided to pull the plug after 20 minutes searching.

The clue and the gizmo had us where we thought we should be, but no luck for us today
abit tricky but found after a few minutes GPS was a bit ratty for a while TNLN TFTC
A quick find on the way back to Batlow from a day out playing in the snow with Usat31. Too busy watching the GPS and missed the turn-off but it was easy enough luckily to turn back around without having to go too far.
Thanks,

Thanks,

Dropped in here for a quick find the The Hancocks on the way back to Batlow from Mt Selwyn. Mind you, we had to make a U-turn to do the deed as we missed the pull-over (like we have many times before too).
Thanks for the cache - no swaps today, but a nice stop along the way.
Cheers.
