Found the w but no cache... we searched pretty thoroughly and thinking this may be missing. We will be back.
Southern Autumn adventure Day 40. Mid North section of SA trip Day 11. Barossa Valley Day 3. For my last full day around Nuriootpa, I did another loop out to the west, but keeping south of Kapunda. There are not many villages, but plenty of old places that have been marked with a cache or a peppercorn trees. There are some very odd things in unexpected places, but I suppose everyone can have their interests, and there used to be lots of railway lines about the area.
This is a huge old post, that is complete swamped by the overgrown trees around it. It took a bit of a push to get into it once I eventually saw it.
Thanks for the cache Skippy.

We are staying with SA Sewer Rats for a few days, yesterday we went to Yorke Peninsular and found the Sea Horse caches and a few others today we headed to Kadina where we found a large assortment of cache types. Sll the caches that were targeted were found and were in good condition.

Out grabbing some caches this afternoon around the countryside here. 14 finds for this outing, this cache is one that was found today. Somewhat of an active beehive right in the hiding place of this cache. Braved the bees and made a quick retrieval. Signed log and rehid.

Found after many, many years of looking for this one. Thankfully the new container made it that bit more visible & once we found the W all was well.

Thanks for the cache Skippy. The cache was found in poor condition, I had read the logs prior to coming and came prepared. I took away the existing crumbling container and transferred as much of the swaps (junk) contents as possible. I transferred the pencil also. The book was mostly eaten by earwigs, and was removed. A new container and a new book are now in play. I had to stop around 25 times on the way back to the car to keep emptying the earwigs from the shell of the original container. Many fell on the hot dry road. There must have been around 200 all crammed in there. Impossible to imagine how they can live like that.
After a huge day of caching in 40+ heat on the 31st, I had a day off yesterday and went sailing. Today I was back to caching and after a later start, made good progress in turning the scattering of greens and blues over a wide nonlinear area into yellow. This ranged from Freeling to Kapunda and Tanunda. I thought today was going to be cooler, yet it still got to 37 in many places. I drank over 5 litres of water again today.

Found W, then shortly after found cache contents at the railway track. Cache is wrecked. Managed to sort of sign damp log. Thanks Skippy

Day one of a camping trip testing out my new swag. I am slowly making my way up to the Flinders Ranges and taking my time exploring lots of little towns along the way.
A short detour off the main road. The dirt road was in pretty decent shape so I was at GZ in no time. Cache found without problems.
Thanks for the cache Skippy.

Nomads travelling in their caravan around Australia. We have been on the road since July 2011 and discovered caching in August 2013. We travel with a bunch of travel bugs belonging to our sons and grand children. Where ever possible, we will maintain your cache as we travel.
Back in the Barossa, staying in Nuri with our good friends Snappy Tom Cats, and we headed out today together to find some caches. It's a souvenir day!
We found "W"
Then one of our party stood in some doggy doo! Eweeeee! Not nice to return to the geomobile. Thanks Skippy.

Today gridge98 and I headed north primarily to attend the Gawler event, and used it as an excuse to geocache around the vicinity for common unfound caches of ours. We started out with a couple of geocaches at Munno Parra, before visiting Evanston Gardens just next to Gawler. We then made out way towards Kapunda, stopping off at Freeling (some great wetlands here), Fords, and Bethel. It was then one final detour to Truro for our targeted adventure for the day *Under the Bridge*, a D 4.5 / T 5.0 geocache. With our limited time remaining before obligations required us to be home, we found a few previous troubled and new caches around Nuriootpa. A nice day to be geocaching around, except the couple of locations requiring us to walk through the dried grass, collecting sharp grass seeds through our shoes and socks. It's that time of year where gaiters start becoming a must!
I was familiar with the railway and "W" after ridind the Mount Gambier rail trail just a couple of weeks ago, so had a good feeling to what we needed to find. Gridge98 started walking up the rail trail, but I managed to find the sign and subsequently the cache within a couple of minutes, and called him back. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Interesting location, thanks Skippy for the cache placement and maintenance.

Along the back roads we made a short stop in here, cache was soon found and is all good
Today I headed north with Davidwazza to collect some caches but it was mainly based around the event at gawker and was the main reason we headed up this way. With some cache unfound around kampungs and Nuriootpa we finished the day off in those areas. Overall a great day out with 26 finds.
Thanks for the cache

Quite a climb through lots of dried twigs, with the smell of pepper wafting through the air
A quick easy find after a short battle with a peppercorn tree. Thanks for the cache and placement "W" , Skippy
TFTC Another quick drive by on our travels to collect as many caches as we can on this “HAPPY GEOCACHING DAY”
The usual Wednesday Wander for members of the Puzzled Puzzlers saw only myself and Mrs. S.A. Sewer Rat available for the day. Time to take the circuitous route between the main arterial roads cleaning out all those caches just a little off the beaten track. Of course we also needed to pick up a few that had popped up in the main towns since the last time we had been through.
Understatement of the century hear by awarded to Skippy for the cache note - I'm sure the trains don't travel these tracks much. [see photo]. Once I found the W in the now well overgrown location I soon had the cache in hand.
**Thanks Skippy. for this cache. **

Lucky to have a day out with SupaOrange and SupaTurtle while GeoWife completed a section of the Heysen Trail. Thanks
Scrambled around under pepper tree until we found the right spot to record our visit.
I never knew this train line existed. What a hidden gem I bet there are some amazing places along at. Thank you for bringing me out him and having a look at that wonderful old house.
After some shopping in town we decided to drive back along some back roads finding the odd cache along the way, not sure why this one has been left for so long, think we saw the dry weather track in the middle of winter and said this can wait till summer, it arrived today and being ex railway knew where the W would be and so was the cache

Well!! that wasn't in the first place I looked...a tiny kitten leapt out of its little warm hole in the tree and scared the bejeavers out of me...I don't know where it went...continued my search then I spotted what I was looking for...

Hay that's enough!
Clearly no caching day is complete until you find the bleached bones of some poor creature...
If you've got dicky knees there is a less steep access just a little nearer to rusty poles... So glad trains don't use this line very much at all now!!

Quick find but harder to get to. Adventurer Z crawled into a small space to retrieve. Tftc.
A bit of bending down and bush bashing to get to GZ but quick find by CacheClosed1847. After finding it we noticed an alternate route that may have been a little simpler. An interesting spot by a quiet dirt road on a 40c day. TFTC #342

Out on a mission today, It's father's Day and I have the company of my daughter for the day. Last night it rained and we expected the worse so we packed the TRED's and a shovel.
Luckily we didn't get bogged, we had fun, met other Dad's out with their children Geocaching, nice to meet others enjoying what would normally be declared a miserable winter's day in Spring.
Sadly we missed a few ones that we intended to get but that means we will be back when it's a little dryer and warmer.
Thanks to all CO's for bringing us to new regions for the treasure hunt.

Owl was out with SA Sewer Rats for another adventure. The owlmobile got muddy, the dynamic duo got lost on the back roads and a grand time was had by all. The trouble with this cache was no so much finding it as the correct approach. Owl returned to the owlmobile with lots of twigs decorating her hair, but a smile on her face.
Day off this weekend so I decide to head north to widen my search plus haven't been out this way for a while, start near Freeling working my way around Kapunda over to tarlee doing very well today only a few caches missing or in need of repair but nice day out. Cache need tlc but still ok and could be enabled again if Co still interested in maintaining it.
This cache has been temporarily disabled due to a recent fire in the area. An extensive area of farmland has been burnt out and poses a potential risk to public safety. For safety reasons, visitors should keep clear of all areas that have been affected. See updates at http://www.cfs.sa.gov.au/site/warnings_and_incidents/pinery_fire_information.jsp
Today we travelled to Greenock, after setting up in the showgrounds we headed out to find a few caches. We went to Kapunda & back via Freeling.
A good varieties of caches found. Took awhile to find, never spotted the W
Thanks for placing this cache Skippy.

Yippee, Geocaching is 15 years old today.
A nice quick find after attending a 15 year birthday event.

Still leisurely touring South Australia after the Mega
We didn't head out till well after lunch today and it had been raining for more than 12hours so the dry weather only roads were closed to us today, so the long list we had been going to attempt was culled to gravel or paved roads.
Pretty wet walking through the long grass to get to most of these caches so back into the GeoCruiser to warm up as we headed on to the next cache.
TFTC and helping us to explore the area using Geocaching as a tour guide.

A very short detour on our way back to Gawler after completing the nearby (relatively) Tour de France power trail.
Enough of a geotrail to allow access to the cache with reasonably good vision for slithery things
Many thanks for the hide Skippy [^]

What a fun day this one was! 35 smileys including 2 FTFs while out with Dennisc52 and earthlight for a fantastic day.
We had planned to get to Clare to locus caches but instead we found ourselves at Kapunda and Eudunda
Such is geocaching
Ok, so W stands for WTF!
We were looking for W and found not quite a W then we did find a W and then we found a cache...or something like that

Miss GG and I decided to get away for the weekend, decided to to some caches on our way to the destination.
Wasn't a nice sight here today with two dead crows... and you can see the path the animal took to eat its meal :S
Weather was perfect today, looks like it was going to rain in Adelaide as we left.
Thanks for the cache Skippy
