We're staying the night in the local camping area. After everything was set up we took a wander down along the water hole and found our way around the water to this cache.A interesting little walk were we saw a few birds and a couple of kangaroos along the way.Once at GZ the cache was found and all was good with it.The camp here was our favorite for the trip so we'll definitely be back again!TFTC
What a wonderful spot. Parked by the broken water tower and the magnificent trees. Would be great for camping. Rambled around to the cache. Looks clean and tidy. If I could give it two favourites I would. I love these out of the way places and would never have found this place without the hide.
Out caching with CaptainVimes. Great spot. It's a shame that this camping area doesn't seem to be used any more. Thanks for maintaining this cache TeamJLBL
During our recent stay in Maryborough, we went to this campground for a check and for a cache or two.
A beautiful area. We were successful in getting to GZ with dry feet, found the cache and signed the log.

Whilst on a day trip to Hervey Bay and Howard for some sightseeing, lunch, gathering WP's for the Fraser Coast Cemetery Trail Adventure Lab, this cache attracted our attention. The road in wasn't as bad a drive as we expected, then found the correct track to get us to the GZ area.
A nice stroll in, it wasn't long before cache was found tucked away nicely, in perfect condition

Hi Ngaambul, We are trying to contact mick & Kaz to see if we can adopt this cache from them due to it age. We will also go out there to see if it is still there. Can you give us a couple of weeks to do this?

Easter in Maryborough with Youngoldfella.
The three of us spent way too long here, searching a good 50 meters from below GZ to Dora the Explorer's coordinates, all around the rock ledge mentioned.
TFTC anyway, mick & Kaz, it brought us to a nice area.

Took the opportunity to get away for the weekend to Maryborough. The roads are busy so it was good to take a break here and there for a cache or two.
Travelling & Caching with RoddyC and YOF.
Sadly a DNF today. Used a previous cachers suggested coordinates and found several good hiding places bit all were empty.

Had a good look for this one. Found what I think was GZ a little way from the coordinates but nothing found. Water level really high, wonder if it washed away with recent rains .
Finding this geocache and it's mate at Lenthall Dam has been a long time coming. The overlap between my being able to drive, and frequent family trips to Hervey bay didn't line up at all, and so it'd always been just out of reach. But, the age of this geocache meant I was keen to get there.
This weekend I had a conference in Maryborough, so enjoyed two nights in Hervey Bay, and today I'm heading home, but via Lake Lenthall. I knew the road would be dirt, but that's probably fine for my tiny hatchback, even if I have to go slow in sections. From Torbanlea, I headed south and was surprised to see the turnoff to the dam signposted at Duckinwilla. After a pause to check I had the relevant data downloaded, I headed in. First I went to the dam for a look around, and the drive in there and back was somehow both dusty, potholed, corrugated and muddy. My car was in a right dirty state when I took the other direction of the Y-junction and headed south to get here.
Luckily, the road from there to Wongi Waterholes was much nicer. The corrugations were consistent where they existed, and I made good time. Into the camping and day-use area, I encountered a big puddle unnecessarily, and realised if you head to the camping area, there is a day-use area there that is closer. And a walking track not marked on my map lead the right direction.
I had the area to myself, just one camper way over the other side of the grounds. So, I wandered off into the bush. The trail was easy to follow, and the water level might be down a bit as I could cross an area of mostly-dried mud. It was also hot out, but I pressed on towards GZ. When I arrived, nothing matched the hint and I saw previous logs mentioned a bit of co-ordinate disrepancy. I followed my nose.
Being wary of the also-mentioned snake, I poked around for a while. five-odd months of no finds mean it could be reasonably well hidden. But about 22 metres from where my phone said GZ is, an area matched the hint, and a geocache was in hand. I quickly did what I had to do just after midday and aimed again for the path.
Not until I got home again, did I look at the satellite view and wish I'd explored to the south a little - but I see others have uploaded photos at least. What a wonderful place to come visit, doubtless a lesser-known feature of the area. Thanks for bringing me here, mick & Kaz

Tftc Mick & Kaz, took the Wongi Waterholes turn off from the Bruce Hwy, ( not the 20km bush bash google recommend ). The first few kms the road was pretty corrugated, then it improved quite a bit.
Parked up at the campground and followed the track around the water.
Feet got a bit wet but all good.
Made the find quickly as co-ords were good. Hint also helpful.
Cache is in great condition.
Nice to find one that is 15 years old.
Very pretty spot, thanks for bringing us here.

What an adventure! Enjoyed prospecting for this! Tftc! Make sure you are ready for a mini bush walk! Really fun!
Oh what the heck Two unfound caches along this road and I knew from experience when visiting the nearby dam, it was going to be a shocker of a road. Bump! Bump! Dip! Airborne! You get the drift This area gets lots of visitors ‘tho.
Swerve left onto the side road before you reach the day use parking...
I parked near old water tanks and scooted towards the water. There are also a few huge mango trees. It’s covered in a thick blanket of plantlife. It occurred to me when looking for GZ, you could fall into the water here and they’d never find the body. But geocachers know where all the bodies are
Located the cache easily and took a few pics out over the water

The start of a long weekend adventure further north with Crew 153, 1MinnieMoo and Fangsoki. An interesting drive along the road into here, seeking this oldie. Found a great park in the campsite area and headed off towards it. Once we were about 65m from GZ we realised our error - and despite heavy reed growth this was not the right approach, and so we had to backtrack around the the other side on the other road. From here it was an even shorter walk in to GZ, but it took a while before the hint and the GPSrs lined up (there is about 15m difference). Surprised a friendly brown snake, and so had to wait for her to move elsewhere before recovering the container. And I needed the moments for heart rate to also subside to triple figures again. No worries with the cache from there, and we were soon heading off for the next cache out here.
Thanks mick & Kaz for entertaining me at this location.

A long weekend caching trip to Gladstone had been planned with 1MinnieMoo, Pprime and Fangsoki and a list of target caches had been prepared.
We made a detour from the highway to get the caches in this area. After bumping around in the Canyonero we arrived at the camping ground and did a scout around and decided to relocate to a closer parking spot. This then left us a short stroll to GZ and we commenced our search. I was searching elsewhere when I heard a yell from Pprime who had just encountered the cache guardian. That didn't deter him as he found the cache soon after.

2/10/20 Find #4161
It was time for adventure, a long weekend of adventure planned meticulously by Pprime, to be enjoyed by Fangsoki, Crew153 and I. Operation Gladstone 2020 was about to begin, with us collecting a number of older caches over the course of the weekend. This was our second cache of the adventure.
Of course, we took the “Wongi entrance” to this one on the “Wongi side” of the waterhole. And yes, of course we should’ve listened to Crew153 who had said to take the previous turn off, rather than the one at the campgrounds.
But having attempted it from there, and Pprime almost making a religious attempt at walking on water, we realised our error and headed back to the car and around to the other road.
With Fangsoki pulling up the car, Pprime, Crew153 and I hopped out and began our journey to GZ, along with the search, which firstly turned up another surprise. I can definitely say I’ve never seen Pprime get so much air as he did when a brown snake tried having a go at him, his levitation skills have well improved, and the snake took off in absolute shock.
Some much more cautious searching after that moment, and I saw something that suited the hint more than the other ones we’d looked at and pointed Pprime in that direction.
With much caution, and a stick, prime gingerly took the plunge for the team and came up with cache in hand. Log signed, we stomped carefully back to Fangsoki and the awaiting Canyonero and headed off to the third cache in here along these bumpy roads.
Thanks for the cache mick & Kaz.

Set up camp and saw this cache near by. My GPS was crap but after finally loading and reading the hint was able to locate the Cache with my Caching buddy Kjxx. TFTC
My GPSr was seriously out here by about 25m but Mrs Grundies came to the fore once again and used the hint to make the find. A pretty spot. Now to find our way out to get some lunch. Easier said than done with patchy phone reception and out of date maps on my GPSr. TFTC
[;) After a long day exploring the area we came across a green dot on the phone . Drove near GZ, searched the area , had to us the hint . located the cache ,all AOK ..Thanks mick &Kaz

We managed to navigate with the 4WD to quite close to GZ and then had to wait till some skittery cattle moved on. Eventually found the cache after re-reading the hint and ignoring the 15m difference between the posted coords and the cache location. Thanks mick & Kaz. a FAV from us.

This hasn't been found in a while, so I thought I would log it as a DNF because I couldn't find it either. Checked the hint and took it into consideration but still could not find it.
It was busy on the way here (relatively speaking). There was a huge truck filling up with water blocking our road so we waited for him to finish and back up. Then nearer the turn off for the hole there was a smaller truck with a couple of workmen getting back into their vehicle. At least there was no one at GZ and Mr. Herbz made the find. TFTC
Tftc. After a bit of a scramble up and down some hills the cache was found by our friend who is new to geocaching. He thoroughly enjoyed the experience. We had a great time bushwalking to this one too. The hint came in very handy as our compass was jumping around abit. Thanks.
Our first treasure hunt. Was great. We all had fun. Now to find another one.
Contents are a little damp but ok.

A weekend away in Bundaberg accompanied by Dora the Explorer! I had no particular plans, but Dora had a list of caches that she wanted to target. A detour to this cache. We searched and searched at the posted co-ordinates. No Luck. We expanded our search and located the cache about 20m from where the GPS said it should be. Dora has posted those coords in her log. With our names added to the log and the cache returned to where we found it, we continued on our way. TFTC
Quick and easy find after finding out cache is 20m out.

We were going to walk from the camp site but decided we'd go for a drive around the forest first. By fluke we found ourselves on the right side of the water and able to drive within 50 metres of the cache so made for an easy find after all. Gps was about 20m out but hint had its looking in the obvious spot. Dropped off a TB
It took us a little while to find because the map and GPS didn't work great but we eventually got it! If it had been warmer we could have swam across but the water was freezing so we ended up walking the long way round from the campsite to get it. Such a lovely place to spend the weekend, thanks!
I booked the camp site to stay overnight at this beautiful forest. We were the only ones there so it was really quiet here at night. The waterhole was allmost completely covered with red leaves of some water plant so swimming was not really possible. I tried two times to walk around the waterhole as the cache was about opposite of the camping ground. The second walk was the right direction and with the hint finally found the cache.
Thanks for showing this wonderful place!

Out camping for the weekend at the waterholes, though we might have to get wet. found about 15 meters away.
Haven't been out here since I was a kid, brought back some cool memories. TFTC.
Found quickly by GEO daughter then back for another swim. Cache in good condition.

Unfortunately due to the fuel reduction fire the cache and its contents, including the logbook , has fire damage and needs replacement, please.
Unfortunately while caching with Julie&GGs we came across this hide & noticed it was in bad shape due to recent fire damage. We were just able to sign damaged log but this cache needs attention ASAP. TFTC mick & Kaz
Travelling further into the forest with Daynaduc in their geomobile this am we found there had been a fuel reduction fire that had unfortunately caused the cache container to be half burnt. We were able just to open the container and retrieve the partially burnt logbook that was also a little damp. Most of the contents had fire damage. We signed the logbook and placed it back in a new zip bag and put container back where we found it after somewhat widening our search to find it in the beginning. What a lovely waterhole there.
TFTC mick & Kaz - such a pity about the fuel reduction damaging your cache container and it contents.

Have a little walk with owner of cache. Found & logged. Took travel bug. Nice place to camp even in winter. Quite and peaceful. TCTF
We parked in the nearby camping area and started out on the walking track then realised we needed to be on the OTHER SIDE of the waterhole. After finding our way around to GZ we made the find and then walked in the opposite direction to where we'd come in the hope that we'd find an easier way out. What we did find was a camper who offered us a lift back to our car, which ended up being quite a distance away by that stage! TFTC
Nice walk on an easy track, great hiding spot, TFTC

After some 4WDriving and exploring/determination we found it kids swapped a toy each and were curious about the traveling bug but we aren't ready to take/ move one of those yet. Tftc!
The geofamily and I went for drive out to this lovely area. Had a nice swim in the cool water which was great in the stinking hot weather. After having a bite to eat for morning tea off we went in search of this one. We soon realised we had to get to the other side of the waterholes so after a short walk down the track we crossed over.
We made our way to the GZ and after a quick search we had this good sized cache in hand. It was well hidden and in a great location. The littlest geoson took an immediate interest in the sailboat inside so we swapped it for a cat.
Great cache in a great location.

Took a drive out to Lake Lenthall, to locate the 2 caches in the area.
Needed the clue to find this one, as the GPS had us a bit off.
Took the trackable, as suggested by the previous finder, and we will get it back on track.
Many thanks for placing this cache, mick & Kaz, for us and others to find.

Out with MTBO_2009 on our bikes from Lenthall's Dam. Think we may have taken the wrong track for a 1.5 terrain rating. Even from another track we found 1.5 may be a little understated. Our co-ords had us about 18m off, though the clue certainly narrowed it down. Found a TB not listed in this cache and left it there for the next finder. TFTC
Cycled from the Lake Lenthal camping area in search of this cache. Though we were foiled by the lagoon separating us from the other bank but managed to find a crossing and located it quickly.
While heading away for the weekend, we decided to explore the area and stay here overnight. What a lovely spot!
As others have posted, the roads aren't the best, but we have had worse
We accessed this cache from the campgrounds where we were staying.

Oh I do love a regular cache in the bush, [^] it truely makes the trip worth while. [^]
The road in needs some maintenance urgently, it is very rough.
Ended up at the Day Park on the north side of the water holes, 63m S, other side
Back to that rotten road, lets try that road, must learn not to trust the car GPS when on bush roads.
A quick check of the hand held GPS, at least it's showing the cache on the south side of the water holes.
Arriving at the GZ, no rock ledge in the near vicinity, widen the search, did not take long to make the find.

Deadly Dave from Dukes revisited this cache 31-8 and dried it out, fitted an O ring to keep it dry in future hopefully and added another notebook in a ziplock bag- all OK now. TFTC
Took a bit to find how to get to it, took about three different tracks before getting on the right one. Didn't take long to find. Good place.
Found this one yesterday. Had a picnic with the family then went hunting. Great cache, easy find. Left a new notebook and pen add the other one was ruined. TFTC
Dukes of Maryborough found this cache on our cycling camp from Maryborough SHS. Eight students, Gavin, Matthew, Graham, Loriarna, Mitchell, Angus, Ben and Rohan. four staff Heike, Ron, Shayne and Dave. Nice spot for a camp and good hiding spot for a cache. Dave will try to get the cache waterproofed on the weekend. TFTC.
Everything is soked and needs to be water tightened my geocaching buds are taking out a new log book
As I am out of the state on holidays and won’t be back for some months I was wondering if the next cacher might be able to take a bit of rag to dry the container for me also a bit of paper for a new log would be great also.

At first I tried to approach the cache from the north. Nnnyess - that would be said "waterhole" in the way. I went for a trot to see if I could get across with dry feet. It was not going to happen. Back around to the southern approach. I got to GZ. Hmm nothing?
I checked the hint. I searched high and low for quite a distance before spotting the beast. I have posted up the co-ords that worked for me today.
As reported, the cache is very wet. I signed the soppy logbook and re-hid it as found. Unfortunately, I had no better container that would go in the existing container.
A worthwhile area for a cache - thanks for bringing me out here. TFTC Mick & Kaz

We are here for the Ulysses AGM and decided to come out to this area for a looksee. A good thing that we had the fourb as it was certainly needed. The cache had water in it, the new log book and bag had water in them, perhaps an "O" ring on the lid may help the water not to enter the cache. We placed an eclispe tin in the cache container with a small piece of paper, thanks to Hungry Jacks, SL TFTC
The cache was completely waterlogged and the log needs replacing. Unfortunately I didn't have a notebook to replace it.
Found this one while camping over the Easter weekend. The cache was completely waterlogged and the log is unusable. Unfortunately I didn't have any notebooks to replace it with.
Great camping spot and swimming spot!

I found this cache about 10 or so metres from the coords in a SSE position.
The cache was wet inside and the log was not signable.
I left a new logbook and Ziplock bag in the cache but it will probably get drenched again without CO maintenance.

Found this cache today at 1300.
The log is wet and unsignable.
I left a new log and Ziplock bag in the cache.
It could probably do with CO maintenance.
