There was a bit of mud and a few puddles on Beelbi Creek Road so we didnt think there would be too much trouble driving into GZ. Clearly it has been pizzing down over the last couple of days because at times there was more water than track. My car got a great wash - with mud.I did have to throw the car into 4WD because there were a couple of puddles where we couldnt see the ground and they spanned a fair way. At least we knew no one else was in the area unless they were on a jet ski.I was expecting the last 90 metre walk from the car to be a boggy one as well but surprisingly it was all dry. Now we just had to swim our way back to the main road. tftc

2/4/2023 Find #5998
Day two of our Easter Holiday trip, and we were starting the day by heading from Maryborough to Hervey Bay to grab a few particular caches in our list before continuing our journey to Rockhampton and finally stopping at our week’s destination in Yeppoon.
A drive down the track until we were about 100metres out, then we walked through the bush the rest of the way, stopping for a photo or two of some fungi along route.
Cache found quickly and log signed before we headed back to the car and on our way to Rockhampton with a stop in Miriam Vale for lunch.
Thanks for the cache TheWombat74.

We have been camped south of Hervey Bay for a few days catching up with friends. Today we travelled further north for a visit with my cousin but had done some research and nominated two caches that I really wanted to find up this way.
This one because it is older than most and it included what possibly could be a 4WD track which would appeal to mostly muggle Pa. Despite all the rain it still didn't turn out to be a challenging drive to within 100m of GZ. Here I jumped out of the car and made my way over for a quick find and sign.
TFTC and for maintaining it Azwok . Take a FP .

Since I couldn’t go to Townsville. I decided that Maryborough was the place to cache day 1. Found 71 dnf 2. Over all was a good day caching.
Thank you for the placement of this Geoart.

Day 2, up to Bundaberg today, had a target cache of course I need it for challenge cache. Plus 3 AL’s and the virtual.

Sorry for the generic log.

A planned trip north, but some time to spare this morning so decided on a few Maryborough caches that have long been on my target list for one challenge or goal or another. I have looked at this cache on my map many a time over the years - and for some reason had always assumed I'd need a full 4WD experience, time to navigate up some horrible half-track and then a muddly bush bash to get to final GZ. So with the ex missus on board this was never going to happen. Well, today I was on my own, so this was a target. Umm. I drove to within 80m of GZ along a muddy (it's been raining) but otherwise fairly flat and easily followed dirt road. And then a short amble over tot he obvious spot for GZ. This was not hard at all, and such a lovely area. I am sad I took so long to get here. Leaving a FP for all this cache has come to mean to me, the lovely area and the mental challenge this needlessly became.

Thanks azwok for entertaining me at this location.

**Found Thursday 10-June-2021 at 10:52 Smiley #1249**

One of my daughters who lives in Hervey Bay was getting an award today at school, so I made the trip from Beaudesert to Hervey Bay and back again in a day. Thankfully there's still a couple of caches between there that I hadn't gotten yet to break the long drive up.

895 kilometres in one day is a lot of driving! This was cache 17 of 33

Love a cache you can 4WD to! After bush bashing for a while, and having some fun, it wasn't long before I got to within 100 metres of the cache and figured that was close enough to walk in. As I approached and saw the fence line, I realised I had made the right call and the cache was quickly in hand. Cache is a little soggy though.

Thanks for the cache **azwok** Big Grin

Fun drive into the bush, our last one for our visit to this region, after staying at Trinity Islands Camping ground.
Found waypoint coords along Beelbi Ck Rd, but as we were in the Landcruiser opted to drive down the 4 WD track. Aahh the hill ! Stopped there then found our way through bush to GZ. Cache in good order, put log in plastic bag and left a crocodile. TFTC

A few weeks back I was asked if I would like to go on a weekend caching trip chasing some target caches. With a leave passed granted, if I got all my work done at home, and seeing i would be on holidays anyways, a green light soon appeared.
Our first day of caching in a group and with target caches set, we were off. We had some multi’s, oldies, letterboxes, trads, puzzles and a lab series on the list to collect today, yes a busy day. The list did get added to as we passed a few others along the way.
This was one from the list, there’s always a story with each cache and this one was no different. We missed the main track and took a secondary “more 4wd track” in, I enjoyed the track though my navigator didn’t see the fun side. We ended up parking on the main road and walking in along some bike tracks. We found the cache and then found a road that could have taken us directly to the cache, doh. Anyways we used this track to get us out and then back to the cars.
The cache was in good order considering its age and with the log signed and cache replaced as found it was off to our next target cache. Thank you for placing this one here.

One of the first on our weekend trip caching north! Great 4WD track indeed and cache still in good order

03-Jul-20
What an adventure to grab this old cache. We took a very rough 4wd track to get off the main road, only to make it out the other side to another super smooth road. Somehow we missed the actual track in and parked up and made the walk, coming across the track halfway through. We took the easy way out and then walked down the road to the car. All in good condition.

03-Jul-20
My car took the more sensible approach, followed by "where have the other lot gone"? Eventually, we met up and the cache was found. TFTC!

Some heavy rain forecasts scuttled the planned Bromance camping weekend in North NSW. The forecast around Bundy looked reasonable, and there were 70 FTF's with some generous DT up for grabs around Bundy . After a full day caching in Bundy yesterday and a restful night in an airbnb granny flat in Howard, we headed out.

Seffnjarah had already found this cache, but agreed to drive his beloved 4WD as close as possible for Deznjez and I. He got pretty close as it was only a 120 m walk through the bush to the cache. All in good order here. Many thanks azwok

Muggle partner and I were on our way to our favourite beachfront lunch spot at Toogoom. He must have been feeling relaxed because he happily agreed to come along and find this oldie. A bit of a walk and the cache was soon in hand. It's amazing how green the flora becomes after a bit of rain! Tftc Smile

03-Oct-19
While spending a few nights in Howard we decided to attempt some of the nearby caches.

We tried for this one first as we thought there may be less muggles around on a Friday rather than over the weekend. We passed one 4x4 with a trailer and dirt bikes but they were heading in the opposite direction to the cache.

We took a new cache container and log book with us to replace the wet one but someone had beaten us to it. We had put our stamp in our new log book and then not taken a pen with us so we tore out the page with our stamp on it and left it in the cache

Many thanks for the hide TheWombat74

I know, this is bad... Today's date is 24/09/22 and I found this cache with Fairy Mother (Mum) over three years ago!

I have so many caches and field notes that I have not logged that they just keep popping up all over the place. I think that I would have hundreds that I have not logged!

While up visiting Mum, we thought that we would get out of the house and grab a cache or two. It is always great when we get a moment to do something we love together, chat and cache.

AS ALWAYS, we took the harder way to the cache... But, for us, that is half the fun!

Before heading out, we read the caching logs and it was mentioned that the cache need maintenance. So with that knowledge, we had a spare container with us.

Upon finding the cache, it indeed was in need of a little TLC.

We replaced the container and removed the water-damaged items.

We left our names in the logbook and rehid the cache for the following geocachers to find.

Many thanks for this cache azwok!

We decided to get out of the house and go for a drive. wife wanted to go to river Heads and have lunch by the water so we headed off and grabbed some food on the way, upon getting there we couldn't find a park anywhere close so gave up on the idea and decided to go for a drive somewhere else. We both couldn't decide on somewhere close enough so we had a quick look on the geocache app. We picked this place to take a little adventure and began zigzagging our way along some back roads to the cache. Once arriving at the entrance we were unfortunately we were shortly met with piles of dumped rubbish, couches and household items, (bloody grubs )
We snaked our way along the tracks trying to get as close as possible and ended up parking 90m from the cache before walking in with the dog.
Cache was shortly located in the obvious spot but unfortunately the cache was entirely full of water and the log book soaked through. I didn't have anything with me to replace the container or book, but emptied it out, signed the book with a felt pen and sealed as best as possible before rehiding.

Cache owner may wish to replace log /container when they can, or maybe someone can replace logbook and sandwiche bag.
TFTC, and thanks for the mini adventure

With the rest of the regular Bromanceketeer geocaching posse either back at work, interstate or oversees and my family heading down the coast for a few days, I decided to head north on a solo geocaching mission targeting some caches around Rainbow Beach and some other unloved caches along the way. Having completed the Rainbow Beach to-do list, with a short stop over in Maryborough, I then made my way north to Hervey Bay where I spent the night sleeping in the car. With a new day, there were more caches to find heading further north including this one.

With no previous finds in the last 12 months, this was a definite target on my to-do list. With the help of the waypoint I found the track entrance and drove in a couple of hundred metres or so short of GZ. There the track forked and not knowing which one to take, decided to park up and head off on foot. A good choice as neither option appeared to get me any closer. A short hunt later and the cache was found, although the contents were quite wet. Luckily my pen was able to write enough on the page to inscribe my name. TFTC

As mentioned in my log below. The cache was half full of water when Crusty and I found it and the log book was too wet to be able to sign it.
I'm sorry that I didn't have my emergency repair kit or I would have replaced the log in a zip loc plastic bag.
Otherwise it was a good place for a cache hide.

18-Apr-13
Went out caching with my mate Crustyvarmint and we found this one after taking my nice shiny Virago cruiser through the bush. I'm sure we spotted GZ at about the same time, but Crusty retrieved the cache container which unfortunately had been full of water at some stage. everything that could rust was rusted and everything else was very soggy. The log book was way too soggy to sign it so we tipped the remainder of the water out of the container and put the cache back.

17/08/2012 21:40 5 of 8. After returning to 'Shells on Serena' to collect my walking pole that I had left there be accident. I celebrated by going out for more caches and chose this as the next one. I set the Parking coordinates and parked the car just off the track at the start of the 4WD road. It was a pretty easy walk down the track but sort of creepy. Eventually I got to within 90m of the cache and had to go bush bashing. Even this was now easy as recent fuel reduction burning had removed all te undergrowth so I got there pretty quick. From 30m away I was able to see the hide and a minute later I was extracting the sizeable container and signing the log. I must say I was happy to be leaving (after ensuring I had left nothing behind this time). Even when I got in the car I was in hurry to get out of there and headed off toward Maryborough. I'm not quite sure which one needs a new container, either this one or 'Off the beaten track' has a takeaway food container for the cache, they are just not suitable, the plastic breaks down, and definately not water proof.
Please feel free to delete this log if I've got it wrong.

After meeting up with Gaz'n'Kab and Fangsoki at a nearby cache I suggested we nab this one too. Took the Fangsoki geomobile in but met a huge puddle and had to leg it the final hundred metres or so. I'm certainly glad to have this one knocked off the map as it had been annoying me somewhat being unfound and all. A great place here, nice to be away from the noise of Bruce for a while after the big haul from Brisbane. TFTC.

Out with Captain Terror and Gaz'n'Kab today, we pottered warily to this one in my car. The terrain became average and I decided to drive no further - so we legged it in. A nice walk in the bush in here. Not many people except some muggles camping about 1km from GZ!

We found the cache after a small hunt and in good condition. TFTC azwok Smile

Yep, the cache is truly well away from muggles! I drove in with my 2WD geomobile until I encountered water over the track. Backed up to a 'layby', parked and walked the rest of the way to GZ. I realised halway to GZ that I probably could have driven closer along another track. However it's a great area and I had a nice walk to help keep me fit and healthy. Cache was in good condition. Saw a strange creature in a tree on the way back - see photo. TFTC azwok.
