#2641A quick park and grab but sadly the log was soaking wet so attached photo proof of find.Ive rearrange the container to hopefully allow forIt to drain and dry.TFTC
It took a little searching but the coordinates weren't too bad and I eventually spotted the hide. There was about a centimetre of water inside the container, which I emptied out, and the logbook is sodden. I sort of signed it but it didn't come out very well.
Thanks for the hide in this interesting historical spot.

Amazing wall. Follow Lee’s instructions and look for a burnt stump. Log was real wet! Saw a python on the track to get here too.
Cutting a lap through the valleys today to pick up a few new LGA’s.
What a year Sandyofthesea and I have had. We kitted out the Prado and took off from Perth, Western Australia at the start of April 2022 to travel more of Australia using geocaching as a guide to see the sights. We started with the Nullabour, Eyre and York Peninsulas, the Riverlands, visited family in Victoria and then back in SA it got cold. Flinders and the Oodnadatta Track was amazing and we finally warmed up in Dalhousie Springs. The Alice beckoned and then a change of plan and we ended up tackling the Tanami Track to the Kimberley and Bungles Bungles. Territory Day in Darwin was unhinged - please try and do it! The Gulf, the coast and the car breaker ‘Old Tele Track’ to the top of Cape York. This is a must but it’s not easy! Eventually made it to Brisbane to get some fixes to the car….. let’s see where we end up.
SUBYDAZZ, I found Wow Whatta Wonderful Wall today. Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache.

SUBYDAZZ, I found Wow Whatta Wonderful Wall today. Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache.
I had attempted this one before but gave up as left my keys in the car and had to rush back up as a flock of those with small dicks turned up in their 4wds. So have up. I had read more kn the cache this time. Back 17 years in fact but got the info for a quick find this time. No where near the expected location.
Even with this fault it was stunning scenery and while I hate colonism I find this convict stuff interesting, so giving a favourite. Tftc tnln

We used Lee737's directions to find the cache, as it was a fair way from gz. Log is soaked. Wouldnt know the wall was there, exept for the signs. TFTC
What an amazing wall and history! No idea a wall was here, thank you for the cache. Bet most people won't either. The container was full of water and pad wet. Added photo to show.
It certainly is a wonderful wall. and in amazingly good condition considering its age.
Found the cache easily but the log is very wet. Perhaps the container should be replaced with something more waterproof.

Found with a little help from today's caching companions, log is wet though. TFTC

The Geowife is up on the Central Coast with friends and if I come up today I can stay the night and we can head home tomorrow.
And if I head up early I can cache to my hearts content and arrive in time for dinner. Sounds like a plan!
Beat the traffic heading north for the long weekend (bonus) and decided to target my 360 from home stats - I’m short in a few degrees neat dead north.
So with a list loaded into my iPhone I hit the backroads to Singleton.
Got 11 on a long drive, without any DNFs.
And arrived at my friends dead on 6pm.
Good day!

Found without to much trouble.
The container had some water in it and the log was damp. I drained the water and put back. I didn't have time to dry the log properly so hopefully the next person has a bit more time and could do that.

Decided to take a drive in country today. Super beautiful day. Thank you for making me stop here. Definitely worth it. Log is damp but able to sign. TFTCSL
Find #2599
The kids and I set off on our traditional New Years Day cache drive (one of them anyway!), choosing a route back out through Wollombi again, to pick up some new caches that have appeared since our last journey out here. Another day above 35 degrees made being out in the sun unpleasant at times. A great day was had, finishing off with a New Years event.
I took a while to find this, trekking back and forth through the leaf litter. The hint is OK, but I found the cache 10m north of the big ants nest, maybe 5m out from the edge.... The log is wet, so I inscribed our name as best I could. TFTC

TFTC Thank you for going to the effort of hiding this cache. You have shown us a new place and have helped make geocaching an enjoyable activity.
The old convict construction here is pretty impressive. A quick find of saturated container. Had to tip water out. Log is soaked but our pen was ok with that. Thanks for the cache
Amazing the secrets you discover while travelling.
Very interesting location.
Log book is damp but slowly drying out.
Thanks

Wow, one does have to admire the amazing stonework that was done in constructing this road and making this ramp in particular. A century later and it's still in working order, with traffic passing on the road every day. It reminds me a bit of the Swartberg Pass in South Africa, which goes up a mountain and down the other side. That also has such stonework in parts. It too was built with convict labour between 1881 and 1888 under the direction of Thomas Bain, the son of another famous pass-builder, Andrew Geddes Bain.
I did take care while walking towards the hiding spot, just in case there were snakes about. On a hot summer's day one can't be too careful. Fortunately, no encounters with any reptiles, and I soon had the cache in hand.
I really hope to come back to the area sometime to have a more detailed exploration of the Convict Trail. There is so much history around here. Now just to find some time to learn more about it and see some of the remains.
I also found the rusted frame of a motorbike at the point where I left the road to get to the cache. One wonders how it ended up here, just off the road, and when it was abandoned.

Both MrSmith00 and I were having gps issues around here so spent a considerable amount of time on the wrong side of the road.
Once they settled down and we looked in the right place, the hide became apparent.
Unfortunately the cache was soaked through. We managed to scrawl our names, but it could use some love.

Tftc, another geo roadtrip with Azzepious today, heading up north again to pick out a few caches we hadn't found.
Our GPS had us running around in circles for a bit before we got on the right side and descended to the cache. I love the old stone work. You have no idea it is here from the road!

Followed some of the old north road down from Wollombi. Really enjoyed this spot, its a very impressive wall. TFTC
Really, Wonderful Wall! The road replaced well the screws in my head! Great description SUBYDAZZ, thanks for bringing me here!

Out with Trodectus, passed this on the way to the camping ground, so returned today to grab the cache. Quick find after arriving GZ. TFTC
Found with Coybear2000. We were camping in the area and went for a walk. Interesting wall. TFTC
It's hard to imagine today's prisoners producing work like this. For people sent across the world, many for petty crimes, they certainly paid their debt to society with interest!

The cache had water inside it and the log was damp.
Thanks for showing us this great spot.

Great spot - drove past the walls several times without noticing them before we stopped for the cache!
Found with noddyb77 on a day mission
Thought it would be a good day to come out this way and pick up a few with less traffic around.
The log is pretty wet but was still able to write on
Thanks for the history lesson.

This week's geo-excursion with Mumma-Kel took us north for a caching run down the Great North Road from Broke to the Central Coast, a drive I've not done before ... but one we really enjoyed doing on a gorgeous winter's day like today. While it was the swag of Classic Motorcycle caches placed along the route recently by jfindit that got us to come up here, it was the older caches, like this one, that I particularly enjoyed doing today.
This one was not even on the to-do list for today ... but I saw mention in the logbook of the nearby Convict Construction cache of another Convict Trail cache nearby, so we looked it up and made the detour down the side road to have a look at it. Once again, I came away impressed with the quality of the workmanship displayed by the "conscripted labour" who worked on this road ... or was it the quality control sysyems that management introduced that made the difference? Either way ... we were lucky enough to be able to study both sides of the ramp since we went to the wrong wall first!
Thanks for this cache that highlights part of our history SUBYDAZZ ... and for the smiley too.

Out on the road from Broke to Bucketty on this week's geomission with Opa-Shrek and Remmus when Opa-Shrek mentions this cache, which wasn't even on my radar....so much so I had not stored the cache and details for offline use, and Vodapone is useless out here of course, so we were guided singularly by Opa-Shreks device when we arrived here... At first it guided us along one wall, then decided we need to cross over to see the other. Both impressive walls, especially when you consider the how's, why and where-fors of its construction, but I liked the one down the road at 'Convict Construction' better than this.
Thanks for the fun, the find and for bringing us to explore such cool historical features SubyDazz.

What a really cool spot! A bit nervous in the Camry on the rain but road holding up fine so far. Kids enjoyed wandering around. TNLN TFTC
Awesome workmanship. Would have driven right by if not for the geocache. tftc
A very interesting spot that we would have just driven straight past without noticing otherwise. Took ages before the GPS finally settled but once it did it was an easy find.

This is what I love about geocaching. You find places that you wouldn't normally visit, with amazing history, that you want to share with family and friends. Top spot!!
Went for a little country drive today and found this one...!
As said by others, the log and contents was quite damp.
Dried out the SWAG and container with a tissue, let the log dry in the sun while we retrieved an new Ziploc from the Geo-Vehicle and replaced the torn one after signing.

Found on 30/12/13
Was out on a big solo bike ride. Found four along the way, and one Trig point.
Have travelled this road many times in the past, but this was my fist time as a cacher
The contents were a little damp/wet.
Took nothing, left a small fish scale (as in weighing device)

TFTC, Gps Couldnt make ups its mind as to what side of the road it was on, so took a bit to find, Well hidden in a not to obvious spot
Found it while taking our new 4wd out for a spin. We parked in the little lay-by next to the information board and headed back along the road. The wall is quite amazing and the view from below looking up is probably the better way to see it. The cache was found quickly, the log book is a bit damp but still usable. TFTC
With Twilight falling fast I jumped out running for the cache only to find the wall a little taller than expected. Making my way to one end is definitely safer than a 7-8ft drop. Cache found very fast and only mildly damp. My guess is this wall will last a few centuries yet. Nice history, thanks for bringing me here.

Bit of a gravel drive to GZ (easy enough in good weather) but what was more interesting is that you wouldn’t even know this wall was here unless you were looking for a cache.
Today we joined up with Chippyroo to grab some loose caches around the area.
After a bit of searching the cache was found! Thanks for the cache! Lovely old wall......with plenty of spiders looking at us!

After Having a friend bail on me for other activities, a free day was on the cards, so what else to do but go CACHING!!!!! A call was made to Team Senz to see if they were up for a combined attack on a few caches that's were in the area.
Arriving at GZ Mr Team senz went down to have a search while Mr C looked from above after a futile search Mr C braved the spiders and headed into the bushes and was congradulated with a cache hide that we both reckon would have been easier in the daylight. The log was signed and returned and we were on our way again.

A wow of a wall indeed. Found cache which was growing beside a purple toadstool - we didn't taste either!! TFTC, SUBYDAZZ.
Afraid the log on this one was pretty damp. The box was leaking and the bag has a big ear in it. Was still able to write in the log but it might need some maintenance soon. And it is a lovely wall.

I managed to park close to a high drop, so we had to walk back a little to be able to get down to the right level. It was at this cache that I, noticing the original log book dating back to 2006, started wondering just when it was that caches stopped being placed for a long term (like this one) & started to become temporary placements (as many newer caches seem to be).
Enjoyed looking over the wall, thanks for placing a cache here

We've driven this road before but have never stopped to look for this cache. Maybe it was just outside out query range, then. Today we stopped and took a good look at the wall, and spent a little longer than expected looking for the cache. But we found it. The cache was in good condition. Thanks
We have to this location many times and have been amazed with the engineering every time. TFTC
Found on a lazy Sunday drive with lodessa ( from Newcastle to Wisemans for pub lunch lunch, lower Portland, St Albans for the arvo stop and back via Mogo and Yaramalong ). We have stopped and admired the west wall here several times over the decades but never ( can't believe it ) noticed the east side wall of this ramp. Geocaching once again opening our eyes TFTC
Found it this time. We could have sworn that we looked here last time and it wasn't here. Anyway, it was an easy find this time. A nice location. TFTC
It certainly lives up to it's name. Spent more time admiring the workmanship of the convict built wall than looking for the reason for the visit. A quick find once we settled to the task. Took Nothing Left Nothing, TFTC.
Too right its a beaut wall, wonder if we had slave labor we could have walls this good in our suburbs
Decided to do this one late on a winters day. Luckily we found this quickly, so we had time to check out the area and history. Thanks for bringing us here, I'm sure I would have never come here had it not been for geocaching.
Got this one today while passing thur for work. Quite interesting the history of the local road building.

Wow. Been past here heaps but never stopped to look. Easy find this time. Took plastic hand left small car. Tftcsl
We had lunch at the Bucketty intersection, watching a small black pig grazing in the bush. A short drive took us to the Ramp, with no way of knowing it was there without the GPS. The search took longer with bouncing signals, but this was a memorable cache in an excellent location.
Started on the wrong side of the wall, walked around and searched for some time... was almost ready to give up when I spotted it.
Very interesting structure, thanks for bringing me here.

Found today at 10:45am. We were in the area yesterday and drove past but hadn't printed off the co-ordinates. Returned today with the paperwork for a better look. So much work to build this - very interesting - thanks!
Needed to go up the road & attempt another cache 1st due to other people here, once we came back & completed a very interesting history cache, thanks. TFTC / TFTH / SL
A nice easy find on the way north from Gunderman up to find an In Extremis cache. A quick stop here, we admired the wall work before chasing down the cache.

Was a bit pressed for time with this one, very disappointed that we couldn't find it. Was worth the stop to have a decent look at the wall though.
