I checked this one out on my morning walk this morning. I can remember where it was hidden from when I found it. It was the first cache I found). Sadly it is definitely gone.

given the string of DNF including notes by previous finders this seems to need CO attention
Missed to read the logs before I attempted this one. Well I saw some small wallabies in the forest at least.
Likewise nothing found at the location. Checked everything was correct from the start location and from the additional hint. Agree with previous logs that it appears to have gone especially as one log advises it could not be found on a revisit! Response from the CO somewhat overdue?
Searched everywhere, it's definitely gone, found purple bead necklace on ground...maybe a discarded swap?
Visited today intending to drop in a swap. (I owed one because of having nothing with me on my original visit.)
Looked where I remembered it being and... nothing!
It seems someone "had to have" that container. Shame.

Sorry to report that after projecting a final waypoint and arriving at GZ (past the trail closed sign) two sets of eyes could not find the cache.

kids loved the case. Took the purple travel cap. Will drop it at the next cache we come to.
Gps wasnt working at all.. Just used the clues.... Hard to judge the distance, but knew gz for sure once i saw it.
Approached cache site on back bearing of 175deg from Westerly direction for a bit of variety. Worked well.
I had checked out the start point a couple of days ago and decided that the journey to the cache was a must do on my list before I left town.
This morning we were heading home and started with a walk to the cache. We were a bit put off by the "Track Closed" sign but skirted around it and enjoyed the pleasant stroll down through the forest with Deco and AmberRose0309.
A bit of a search around when we arrived and the cache was located . Such a beautiful location. Thanks for showing it to us.

An interesting way to locate a cache. Disturbed a pademelon at GZ and hear catbird calling.

Having spent a very enjoyable morning chatting with Danielc, Danielv and Val, we decided to go and chase down this cache. Hubby came with me and pointed out that I was on the wrong path. Once in GZ it was a quick find. TFTC SL LN T tb

Well I wasn’t even Geocaching when I found this.
I was doing the environmental park walk and decided to keep going and walk thru the crater, not having done it before. I knew there was a cache there ‘somewhere’ and remembered the clue, so when I saw the site, I thought it was worth a look.
Took a frog. Had no swaps with me, so I owe one!
Thanks Makira.

Gotta love those 7 sisters. A quick calculation saw me off to the cache and a smile in no time. Thanks for the fun.

Up on the Atherton Tablelands for the Easter holidays. Relaxing and enjoying the caching.
In all the years that we've visited Atherton, we've never been to this lookout. A great view of the Seven Sisters with rain rolling in.
After an adventurous walk through the rainforest track, we were soon clambering over tree roots and had the cache in hand.
Dropped off GeoKrety Travel Cap - TC2.
Dropped of TB.

Couldn't use plane table due to muggles... Decided to wing it with only the clues instead and guess what, we found it!

Once arriving we quickly established where the cache would be and headed off to make the find. Once at GZ the canopy played havoc with our GPS but we expanded our search and had the cache in hand after about 10 mins.
Note that the steps on the bush track have deteriorated quite a bit so take care.
Cache contents are nice and dry.

Either my compass was not correct (hmmm) or the prize is missing. Was a great view, was watching some locals sitting back and taking in the sun whilst sketching the landscape, was great work.

[green]In Atherton again today so stopped at the lookout to get a piccy now that the smoke had cleared a bit, decided to go for a walk in the Mabi forest and have a look for the cache at the same time. Had a read of the description and decided that was all too confusing so read a few logs and headed off to give it a shot. The forest was just lovely, it was a shame that the trail has not been maintained, a lot of the steps have started to rot away and many are gone, not too bad today but would be slippery in the wet. We did try to find the signed 'crater viewing platform' but with no luck.
Found the cache at the obvious spot and we were thrilled to find a real cache container, an ammo box. Log book was a bit damp but useable.[/green]
[red]Beautiful walk, thanks for bringing us here. [/red]

Love the name!! We started on the said bearing and distance but found the rain forest too difficult. Then we found the path! Much better way to go.
Found while holidaying with family on the beach. Took a drive through the tablelands in the rain today.
A lovely peaceful and interesting little walk, despite the geokids who were in tow.
Found with muggle brother-in-law and the geokids cousin, so we let him take the treasure.

Found it with KH2ici. Tried a couple of trees before walking further along the path and straight away knew the correct tree and walked around to find the cache. Good location and massive tree.
Recently moved to the Tablelands. First find in the area for me. Red truck taken - Candle holder left.. Wet & windy today.
Good excuse to get us to the lookout. Glad I bought the app two weeks ago as navigating the distance and direction to this would have been much harder without it. Fantastic roots on these trees. Took TB. Found with SaharaH99.
The cache was a nice easy find
I strolled in from a nearby cache and as I already knew the bearing and the distance from Herbie, stopped when I saw a very likely cache hiding candidate in this beaut bit of rainforest
With the leeches removed from me boots, I signed the log book

First I made a little mistake in the calculation and already wanted to drive(!) there but lachia recalculated and thanks to her we had a very nice walk in the area nearby - and finally found the box. Thanks for this nice walk!
Found together with Mirax. I loved the area around the final and we walked further to the next cache.

A rather bleak and cool day on the Tablelands, so no muggles around as we arrived and inspected the plane table.
With the information gathered and a peruse of the additional hint the cache was located easily enough.
The cache and its contents are in good condition.
While we took nothing we left the Go Team Football Geocoin to continue its journey.

Loverly walk in bush only saw a scrub turky and remarkably had satelite reception all the way. No trouble to find. Sure is a great view from up at waypoint. All nice and dry. Took a stone left a flute and a stopper. TFTC Garnets
nice spot to start with and then an even nicer, silent,
muggle-free walk to the cache ...
also not very many cachers went there yet either, its
worth to go!

I have no idea how to project a waypoint with my EtrexH (if anyone wants to explain feel free to sent a message to me ), so I used an oldfashione compass to find out the direction and used my GPS to track the distance. Well, it worked, using the hint as well, I found the cache. Imprssive hiding place .

What a lovely spot - great for some photos of the surrounding areas. We quickly had the co-ords worked out and set of for a brief stroll and the cache was soon in hand. Thanks for bringing us here.
What an awesome cache! Thank you for bringing us visitors to this lovely location. Saw 2 turkeys and a pademelon. Traded TBs.
Found this with father-in-law (local) 3pm. Nice walk but later found out picked up some grass ticks. Good hiding spot and was a little weary about caching on a bearing, but all OK. Took 2 x TB to take back to NSW and left Billabong TB.
After much discussion about how bearings worked, we took a leap of faith and wandered off to see if our theory was right. Once we got the correct distance away, we started our search of the trees...how many could there be. Well quite a few actually. Finally Geohubby came up with the goods. The cache was nice and dry. We left a TB which is a very large pig that oinks. So if the next cacher picks up the ammo box and a noise comes from within...its the pig.
Thanks for the cache.

It was a cool and moist morning at the top but like any geocacher I ignored the discomfort in the quest for the cache. I got my bearings OK then had to work out how to get my GPS to estimate distance. Then I was off. The walk to GZ was very pleasant and I savoured the walk thru a vegetation type that only exists in a couple of small remnant pockets and only on the Tablelands. I left some toys and some footprints and took nothing but photos. TFTC Makira.
Done a few of these before so had the info and calculations worked out in a flash. Headed off to GZ and found a great little piece of bush. Must have been birds everywhere as I could hear them from every direction. The view from the top was pretty good too. TFTC.
Nice little walk in the Mabi forest. Watch out for those leeches. TNLNSL Saw pademelons. TFTC
Find number 17 for the Camels, on a run of 22 on the tablelands this weekend. Having never done a projection before , I knew this one would be a bit tricky. Some months ago a fellow cacher told me how to do a projection, but when my moment came to shine, I couldn't remember!!! So, we set off on the said track and stopped when we were the correct distance away from WP1. The back bearing to WP1 seemed good, and there was a very likely looking GZ just a few meters away, so in we charged and quickly had the cache in hand. Very proud to say we did not use the projection OR the hint. REalised as we opened the cache that we had left our swaps in the car, so TNLNSL. TFTC, and for taking us to a lovely part of Atherton.
Before I went to get the cache, I did the two other caches on this hill. Coming back, it was not easy to find the way leading to the cache.

Had to wait for a ceremony to finish at WP1 and then we could not figure out how to project using the GPSr unit we were using. Decided to risk it and take a back bearing. After a short stroll the coordinates matched and we then headed off the beaten track and found the cache. A great puzzle and an enjoyable walk, Off now to continue downhill and grab the other nearby caches.
Wow! what a great spot. Great views and facilities and a local there to give me a bit of history of the area. Congrats to those responsible for creating this area.

Hi all,
I experienced an interesting side line to this cache. I walked to the top of a mountain at S 17° 17.336' E 145° 27.577' to check it out for a cache site and there I met a fellow walker. We got to talking and I told him about geocaching. He suddenly said "I think I've found one. Over there in the crater of Halloran's Hill. I was walking through and saw a bloke standing on the track while a couple of kids were poking round this big tree. Next time I walked through I had a look to see what they were doing. I found this tin box with toys and stuff in it. I thought it was just the kids playing a game with their friends. I had no idea it was a world wide thing." Perhaps there will be another geocacher in the region soon.
Cheers,
Dan

Getting the final coordinates for this one made the old brain hit high gear. Ballbag even brought along his old scouting compass just for good measure. With some twisting and turing we were off down the trail. After many pademelons and the like, we found the most likely spot for GZ. We were right!!. What a nice walk throught the forest. We found the cache with ease, but, I feel that you need to be careful on retrieving the cache as there is a VERY LARGE rat guarding the cache. We saw the pademelons, really cute. We took a car and left a Santa keyring plus an aquarium toy. TFTC

We've been through Atherton so many times. Can't believe we'd never been here before.
What a great lookout.
Didn't have clues for cache find, so will be back another day.
We were glad of the shelter sheds so we could have a coffee out of the rain.
Was interesting watching the rain come across the Tablelands.
We'll be back.
