*22 Jun 2024, Found @12:32PM, Find # 3834.*Out and about enjoying the morning picking up a cache or a few before heading off to play a social basketball game. I had calculated the coordinates for this one a while ago but from memory I had to leave suddenly before I could find the cache. It was nice to finally get a smiley on this one. **Thanks to JackRobin for placing this cache.**
Many moons after originally DNFing I managed a find at this goldenoldie. Plaque was buried deep but eventually managed to grab the information and the calculated GZ looked a little different from last visit. Quick find of a pristine dry logbook. TFTC.
During our weeks trip with Bare Foot Guru, Infoferret and Trinity to the Canberra Mega we logged as a combination of "BFG, CF, BIC, BITC" depending on who we were caching with at the time. The trip took us on a flight to Melbourne first, then a drive to Canberra, followed by a drive to Sydney before flying out again. Where possible I will add commentary to each find about the cache. Thanks for all the caches, hides and effort put into hiding and maintaining them. This was out first cache and we struggled to find the given plaque so we took a rough guess and started to walk in the direction prescribed. We shortly stumbled across the cache.
*** draft log for stats tracking, more later ***GCYD70 DamperFive26 March 2024T11:33:52 AEDTTFTC JackRobinWe searched for ages but couldnt spot a plaque about a building. So we just walked in a line as directed for an estimated amount until I saw a likely object. Cache was a quick find after that. Now back to Three! Signed as BIC
An expedition with Crystal Fairy & Barefootguru. Most logs signed as BIc to save space and time. 26 March 2024 11:34 Number 13797 TFTC JackRobin !Us kiwis couldn't find the initial information, but the cache was spotted by BFG and sheer bloody mindedness!I would like to show my respect and acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the Land, and their continuing connection to it. I wish to pay my respects to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures; and to Elders past, present and emerging.
Checked the math and checked the bearing,
Sadly though no cache was found,
Guess that means just one thing,
I'll have to find it next time around.

Working on my multi month challenge.
Initially just tried to walk the yard amount to GZ eyeballing the NW direction, but this was to inaccurate as there were no beacons resembling the hint. Then projected a way point and had much better luck.
I found the cache at my exact projected coordinate, but the cache was out in the open and about 10M from the closest beacon which matches the hint.
I have now placed it back at hopefully the correct location. 10M NE of my projected coordinates and have messaged the CO.
Logbook was damp, but still writable. TFTC

Thanks for the Cache. Able to find a park relatively easy and a quick walk to the coordinates given. Worked out the multi and a nice walk to the gz. Found relatively easily once in the right spot.
One of those awkward moments when you are on your way to the (probable) GZ and discover you don't have a writing implement. Kept on going and found it but was unable to emulate my signature in any way, shape or form. So returned and signed the log today (but actually found on the 22nd). Detail gained from the plaque and used to get distance along with the direction given from the plaque was extremely accurate. TFTC JackRobin and for the other Damper Creek caches, some of which I have still to track down.

Just visiting to check the coordinates again as I think I was a bit off. Cache was out in the open so re hid.
I did the sums and worked out the location of GZ. I found the cache using the hint to help. There are some coordinates for another cache in the series in this cache but they are illegible. This cache needs a bit of a revamp.
Cache is in very poor condition, wasn’t hidden well, presumably been tampered with by muggles. Missing logbook and cardboard with coordinates is faded and damaged.
Went to number 3 without realising that I needed to do this one before that. Took note of the numbers required for the other cache and will return another day for that one. TFTC
Moved into the area and found the awesome damper creek bush land and thought "let's do the multis here!" Little did we know it would take us on a bit of an adventure and we worked out we would need this cache before going back to do the others. Thanks for these, really great!
Just realised that we hadn't logged this cache find from before the lockdown. Cannot tell you how long we had been waiting to finish these. Pleased to say that I think we have them all now. Thanks for the headache and the lovely strolls.
I am curious what the council workers thought we were doing, wandering around this area with our heads stuck in our phones.
This has been a very long time coming but today we have finally managed to get to this area and find the cache.
It did take us some time to locate. We had made a PAF but had found it before they got back to us. Not sure how we did as our coords weren't quite right.
Thanks for the cache and showing us around here.

We found the information we needed and headed 'off-road' to search for the cache.
We started our search at a particular object and then expanded our search in all directions.
After quite some time we finished back where we started and wouldn't you know it, it was there the whole time.
Thanks JackRobin for the first of these different kind of 'multi' caches.

No sign of Mr Vulpes but we did spot his old hiding spot.
The cache was poking out for all to see but I'm guessing not too many people poke around near here.
So we need this multi to solve the other multi once we work out that other thing for the first multi. HAHAHA

After looking around in the wrong spot for a bit, I expanded my search radius and the cache was soon in hand. All in good condition. TFTC
So this one was not on the cards at all today. I had no intention of making my way this far south east, but I got to another cache that required the final GZ of this one and thought "why not?" I'm out to do some exercise anyway, so this was a nice bonus. There was some gardeners in the area of WP1 today, but they paid me no mind, so I found the relevant information and was soon on my way. GZ was a completely different matter. I had geobub and the pram with me today and a fallen tree has blocked the path up solid. It was quite some contortions that we went through - this is why my pram is so worn out and why I have a shoulder injury. Nevermind - it's all part of the fun. The cache was soon located and the log signed. I picked up a TB and got the relevant information for the other cache. Thank you JackRobin for this one. TFTC
I knew I was on the right track when I spotted the "rusty relic" mention by Mister Doctor.
After that the cache was soon found.

In the area ,found Gz and the needed information so parked a little closer and walked down to the designated area. Tree still down but very quiet spot near a busy intersection just on dusk.
After a few circles realised where I was suppose to be. That’s Damper 5 finished dropped a trackable and will now prepare for the rest of the series. Enjoying these ones JackRobin. Thanks

I am glad you mentioned that no bush bashing or crossing of creeks was necessary! Best approach is from High Street Road. Thanks for the little walk. Lovely bird calls all around. TFTC.
Been eyeing this series off for a while. Completed #1 & #2 a while ago. Today captured #5. Thanks for the brain strain, the hunt and the chase JackRobin. TNLN SL.
Had some time today to return to Damper Creek. I came here on a school excursion when I was at Narmara Primary School and we tried catching yabbies!
This was the last of the five and a nice little hunt! Enjoyed the units, the projection into the wilderness, and the discovery of the rusty relic. Good fun!

Nice multi today for the daily caching streak. Made it hard for myself when I used feet instead of yards :-/

After finding more information, this time for DamperFour, I made my way over to the starting point for DamperFive. The first plaque I noted was not the right one, but then I saw that my GPSr was pointing elsewhere. Following the compass pointer I got to the right spot and took note of the clue. Thereafter, I sat down on a nearby bench and did the quick calculation.
Methinks the Difficulty rating is perhaps a tad low; it's not difficult to do the projection, but I bet there are quite a lot of cachers out there who don't know how to do this and don't have the right tools at hand.
Be that as it may, I saw that the new GZ was nearby and I headed off that way. The area looked promising, but the track I found didn't seem to go anywhere. I started checking all the possible hiding spots that matched the clue, but wasn't coming up with anything. I was even considering re-calculating GZ in case I had made a mistake. Then I tried one other spot and after scratching around a bit I made the find (not quite the way I expected it to be, but I see that the CO has made an intervention and may have corrected this after I had been there earlier in the day?)
With the co-ords for DamperFive I was now in a position to calculate GZ for DamperThree, which I duly did while sitting on a log nearby.
After stashing the container exactly where I had found it, I headed off to see whether I could make a find one more in this series.

I was out this way today and so I thought Id try to grab some or all of the Damper series. I started with Damper 3 before realising I needed info from Damper 5. So I got back in my car and headed that way. Enjoyed the conversions etc to find gz in a likely looking area and was soon rummaging around in the bushland. The cache was soon spotted but it was laying out in the open, nowhere near any kind of camouflage. I placed it back in the best spot I could think of considering the coords I got and the hint, but I think the CO should check in on this one. TFTC!

Finishing off a few outstanding caches in this series with omegaman1971 and this was my last one to finish so after working our way through we spread out around the gz and found the cache container a little exposed as there may of been some young muggle activity in the area judging by the small bush camp out. Fortunately the cache while has moved in the open a little it was still intact and after signing our names in the book hid it at the the nearest and tallest area that the hint stated as the area has had some trees fallen over as the gz is slightly disturbed. Thanks JackRobin for the fun multi and the series.
Find #3535
Had to come over this way after work to make an ebay pick up for Tarbit. After four other finds in the area this was the last one I attempted before heading off. Very interesting to see the plaque and learn a little of the history of the area. I wasn't 100% confident in my calculations or projection but it worked out a treat and (after a short time out to take a phone call) I made the find at GZ. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log and visited some trackables. Thanks for the multi cache JackRobin. I look forward to coming back to find the other cache along Damper Creek in the not too distant future.

Had a bit of unfinished business from earlier this year. After some communication with the CO revealing an incorrect number or two I revisited. A short walk and the cache was in hand.
Lovely location, JackRobin. I can see why this linear bit of bushland has been preserved.

Wanted to do this for awhile. Nice to visit area I grew up in - back in the days of more paddocks and orchards! TFTC
Arrived at GZ and collected the required information on a hot Sunday morning. Set appropriate waypoints and set off the required distance. We started a search at the estimated area for GZ. Eventually found the container and were able to sign the log. Nice challenge. TFTC
I am extremely late logging this cache but I am now starting to catch up on logging all my finds as I was sooo far behind. It's lucky that I keep notebooks with records of all my finds.
I had a go at this multi ages ago and found the required information. I did the projection and had a quick look for the cache but I think it may have been missing at that time so I didn't find it. I was back today for another look and was surprised to find the cache quite quickly. I am pretty sure that last time I was here I searched the spot where I found the cache today so it probably was missing. Anyhoo, I retrieved the cache and signed the log at 4:20 pm. TNLN.
Thanks JackRobin for the clever multi and well-hidden cache. Now I only have Damper Three to do to complete this series.

Found with Winniethebear. We had tried to find this previously, but it was muggled. Having seen that someone had found it earlier in the day we decided to get it while we knew it was still there. The cache wasn't very camo'd so I tried to hide it a bit better as it seems muggles might frequent the area as we found remnants of a campfire, seats and other equipment.
I would not recommend for cachers to visit alone or at night.

Found with legoman9x. We had solved this a year ago but the cache had been muggled. This time we found it but was concerned at the campsite there with a bong and chairs.
Took a but of hunting around but if you do the correct calculations you will be able to find it just as we did, we loved the fact we could learn more about mount waverley, so thank you for that. Wrote in the log and left a remnant
I recently described something else as the quickest multi I've ever completed, but this one might be the new record-holder. Though I did finish off the maths while already heading in the appropriate direction. The container ended up being in the first place I looked. This was a good starting point for the series, it turned out, but I'll tidy up my calculations before returning to the the other multis. Thanks JackRobin!
We found the cache but we believe that it was out of place. We assume the cache might have been blown away from the resent heavy storms. We have tried to put it in the right place.
I'm pleased I was able to find this because I usually struggle with caches that require navigation rather than coords. I wish I could buy this place for that price, thanks!

A multi hunt for a souvenir lead me to Damper Creek today - or was it yesterday? Or tomorrow? It was now hard to tell... I had been out picking up smilies since midnight, and by the time I trudged down to DamperFive in my gumboots, the world was starting to wake up and get active.
I found the historical info very easily. Worked the numbers, did the conversions, and hit GZ. I wandered about in the dark for ages, going round and round, but nothing turned up. Somehow, after nearly an hour, I stumbled upon it. It was a great relief. I have learned over time that I shouldn't do number crunching in the wee hours, but this one was unavoidable. The difference between my calculations and the location of the cache (according to my 'drunk' GPSer!) was 17 metres - or 18.6 yards in the old. That didn't help! Probably a result of my tired maths. Still, I got it in the end.
Thanks for a challenging cache, JackRobin. I'm sure I made it harder than it needed to be, lol. It's always a nice bonus to learn things while caching so I very much appreciated the history here. Well played!

Slowly finding all the caches on the way home from work.
This one perked my interest as it involved some "on the ground" navigation and some nifty use of my orienteering skills.
Located the approximate GZ and a few moments later had the cache and a nice clean log book in hand.

Looked for cache with legoman9x and there was immediately a spot that stood out to us. However, there was nothing there.
Emailed CO about the location which proved to be correct and it had been muggled

Even though this was the first one we tackled, it was actually the last one we found today. Cheers!

Out for a bike ride with OzHockeyChick & 88andy88 after the event today at The tallest tree in the forest.
We started the series at the beginning of this multi, well actually at the wrong plaque .
Worked out where we needed to go and then rode off to find the others.
We found 2, 4 & 1. No luck with 3 today.
On our way back we parked our bikes and began to search (also on the wrong side of the creek.)
The calculated distance was spot on and [8][8]andy[8][8] soon made the find.
Signed and replaced as found.
A great little area that I have driven past many times. [^]
Thanks for the series JackRobin.

Started on the wrong side of the creek, but realised it mistake and went back around. Lots of rubbish in this area. Good hide, thigh it could do with a dry out when the weather warms up. Tftc.
Took a bit of hunting as we started off on the wrong side of the creek. Oops! Thanks for the cache - a tad damp though. Found with brong and the geokids.
I had a couple of hours free so I thought that I would take a wander over and look at the Damper series. A quick find once I had the required information. The bag was wet and the log damp so I have put it into a new dry bag. TNLN. TFTC.
As Vanessa said, we did a bit of conversion from yards to metres on the drive to this one. Once at the plaque (which is in a weird place if you want people to read it) we quickly decided that by the time we remembered/figured out how to do a projection on our GPS we could already be at GZ. So we did the walk and thankfully found the cache. Multis are my fave types of cache and this was just that little bit different to keep us on our toes. Little did I know there was even better to come . . .
Out multi hunting with Hera today, and this was our second multi and our first Damper cache. Hera read out the cache description as I drove to GZ and she looked up how to convert metres into yards, as neither of us had any idea of how long a yard was (makes me feel young!). We decided not to do a projection as we knew that by the time that we'd figured out how to do it, we could just be at GZ, so we walked in at northwesterly direction until we hit the correct amount of metres. Hera was the one who spotted this hide. Loved the genuine 2006 logbook. Great series, thanks JackRobin.
Plaque not where I expected, but soon found what I needed. Crossed the road and made my way down the hidden track. Took a while to find the correct spot, but at least I was safe from muggles. I've been enjoying the Damper series, thank you!
After work today I sat down to work out some more puzzles for the PIG caches then I realised a had to do a cache today,
With a huge help from happy chappies I was able to locate this cache today.
It took me a while to find I found myself about 10m out,
Thanks jackRobin [:x]

This was a nive tricky one that has been here for a long time. The earliest logs were from 2006!
It was a warm day...a bit too warm really for energetic caching...but I wanted one more Multi to bring up my "100th Multi Find". This looked like it wouldn't be too difficult ...and so it generally proved to be. Found the right plaque on the second attempt, worked out the offset with a handy iPhone app...and set off. I arrived in the vicinity of GZ and started to hunt around. I ended up going in a rather large circle before finding the cache...with the help of the Hint. I had ended up about 15 metres from the indicated GZ...but still got there in the end.
Thanks to JackRobin for the cache...I will have to come back for 1 to 4 another day.

I parked in a nearby street and walked to GZ, finding first one plaque, but then the right one.
After reading the listing, I reconfigured my GPS and then made for GZ.
After a short search, I located the cache tucked away into its hidey hole.
It was a bit damp and there was water floating around inside the cache, mainly because the zip lock bag had not been tucked in properly previously.
I dried it out as best I could, signed the log, and rehid it, adding a bit more camo on top.
A nice little multi, thanks for the cache JackRobin

Parked in the suggested spot and strolled over to the plaque with the info on it. some quick math and we were on our way to GZ. We adopted a random search approach and eventually came up with the find 10 minutes in. Found with megwilson, TFTC!
I parked in one of the suggested streets and strolled down to the park in the sunshine. I found a plaque quickly then realised it was the wrong one. The actual plaque was in such an odd location and I scrambled through the mulch to get to it. I made a quick calculation and headed over to the gz. I searched and searched, used the hint and narrowed it down some more. I found the source of the rotten smell nearby - a dismembered possum rotting in the sun, but I found no caches. Thanks anyway.
Parked just around the corner and walked to the interesting plaque where the information was found, some quick calculations it was off to GZ. A short walk later with blue wrens flitting about, and the cache was found just where the calculations had indicated Enjoyed this short but educational multi TFTC JackRobin
We looked at Damper Four, and couldn't make a start, so went on to Damper Five. We parked round the corner, worked out the co-ords from the bit of History, then made our way to GZ. The log is a bit wet, but OK, Thanks JackRobin
Found on second attempt. Got GZ which was pretty much the same as last time. Decided to broaden the search area and found the cache quite out in the open, just staring at me. Log book is quite mouldy so it has been quite wet in the past. Managed to log the find and take this off the list. TNLNSL. TFTC. Kems
Sorry for the late log. I thought I'd already logged it.
We found Damper Three and Five on the same day.
We now have all the information for Four, but haven't yet found it!

Went over the wrong way initially. Then LouiseAnn made the find. Glad it's not hot today. Tftc
Since I have declared March to be Multi Month, I decided to head out today and pick up a few more. Since I had met up with skarkiefan at the geostuff.com.au opening event we decided to head out and get some multi caches together. We picked this cache up at 2:16pm. Wow, this was a tricky one. I started off down the wrong side of the creek, while sharkiefan went the right way. Eventually we were both in the right location and the cache was found fairly quickly.
Thanks for the cache JackRobin.
Thanks for the cache JackRobin.
Found @ 9:52pm, find # 3067.
Another Friday night to the early hours of the morning, outing with Biggles1024.
This one was close by so we thought that we would give it a crack.
We started at the posted coordinates which took us a little while to find in the dark, once that was done, the numbers were worked on and the projection done, then it was off to GZ, so it was over the road and down the hill we went until it was time to stop and look. After a bit of looking around, Mark finally found the hide which was obvious once you see it, it was just a little away from were we started looking.
Thanks to JackRobin for placing this cache.

Find #1008
Out with Stemicmitsar for our usual Friday night/Saturday morning caching run. We targeted caches that had proven troublesome in the recent past either because we couldn't even start looking because of the presence of muggles or because we needed some special equipment.
An interesting piece of history which if it wasn't for geocaching I would never have known about. We found the information we needed without any trouble and then performed the calculation. Working in yards and feet was an interesting experience. I can certainly remember using the old Imperial measurements but never in geocaching until now.
We found ourselves in another nice park and searching around by torchlight eventually found something that looked like it was worthy of further investigation. It turned out to be the hide.
With the log signed, we were once again on our way to the next one.

Interesting to find a bit of history of the area - wonder what the landscape looked like back in the 1850s? - a long trip out from Melbourne by horse!
Did the calcs, went the wrong way, but backtracked and quickly found the cache. TFTC

Took a fair bit of time to find as it took me time to convert yards into meters. Relieved and happy and TFTC!
