As there's been no cache to find for months, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.

4/4 for the family afternoon caching outing at 1545hrs. Met up with fellow cacher '4889', Nice to meet you! GPS co-ords look a little out on this one, but with my find skill improving, was an easy find once at the right level. Managed the urge NOT to park here Smile Took ball, left dino. Cache is 'moist'

Was a memorable cache as 17 month old Geoson, said his first "HELLO" to cacher 4889, how stoked were we!!!

A quick easy find @ 16:10. Having lived and worked in the area for many years I applied a small amount of local knowledge and worked out the next waypoint. A quick calculation and GZ was determined. It was very obvious where it would be as I approached and the cleverly hidden cache was soon in hand. As a bonus there was no sign of those pesky residents.

I can only reiterate the need to apply the previously mentioned northerly correction. Also, be careful as you remove the container from it's hide that you don't put deep scratches into your knuckles - they hurt!

My thanks to clockwise for bringing me here and for the cache. TNLNSL

On this wet morning I wasn’t very keen on the extra kms between WP1 and WP2. Applied some logic and went straight to the cache.
What a great surprise to find a beautiful little walk where you would never expect it. And the hiding place is even better. Searched for a bit, then looked in the spot where I would have hidden it myself and – there it was. Great fun. I really enjoyed this cache and promise to stop at the trough very soon.

P.S. I just realised, I already dropped the coin in the next cache before noting its tracking number. So it will show in this cache's inventory until the next finder contacts me. Sorry.

Been waiting to knock this one off for a while, after wondering where it might possibly lead me!

Grabbed a photo of the trough on the way home one night and then slotted in the numbers. Google mapped the new coords and was surprised to see it at a spot I knew relatively well, having spent a while working at the Salvos up on Railway Rd and this being a regular walking route at lunchtime. Streetview gave me the solution to the next question and then, to my complete amazement, the new coordinates had the cache at a spot I knew painfully well. I love this little spot. In fact, it was the favourite part of my walk most lunchtimes.... Who would have thought that somewhere so meaningful and delightful to me would have had a cache hiding here all of that time!!

So yesterday, after church we swung by here to take another walk down this delightful path (I love the house that kind of 'fronts' onto this path and have envied it for a long time) and eventually made the find thanks to some helpful hints in the logs. No neighbours today fortunately (but did spy a steam train making a run on the line while we were waiting for the rain to stop!)

Thanks for a sentimental cache for me....

Got the needed info from the first WP and was soon at the 2WP and had the rest of the info.
I was searching at the GZ when a muggle appeared and told me where the cache was.
He has been keeping an eye on it so the area does not get too badly damaged. He maintains this little part of nature.

After counting 3 times MMelb finally agreed with the count that GMelb and JMelb had lol. I had never actually seen one of these before and MMelb was very interested too!
Headed off to WP2 - interesting!! From reading previous logs I knew we were in the right area and after a minute of 2 of searching remembered that previous person had mentioned the cache was 12 m north of GZ. We searched the new area and after a few mins the cache was in hand! Whilst logging, a Muggle walked past and smiled (seemingly knowingly so I suspect she lives very nearby!!)

Found in conjunction with CDNB. Satellites were not being kind to us today as each wpt was a bit out. The first one had us in the middle of the road 13m from the information we were seeking. Second wpt had us 6-8m away from the designated point and the GZ was 13m south of where we found the cache. Never-the-less, we found the cache without too much hassle and swapped wrist bands after signing the log. Wonder if the neighbours get suspicious with all the coming and going!

It was quite a long walk from where we started- we should have taken the car! It was in a good hiding place and was found after about fifteen minutes of searching. There were quite a few muggles- all small children but luckily they didn't appear to want to come very close to us. We dropped off a 'Unite for Diabetes' Travel Bug and to our surprise, found another which we took.

[AH HA!
Found it.
obvously counted my E's wrong as WP1 was in a driveway.. figured this was correct due to previous logs..
Had to commodore today (not very subtle) and felt really stupid driving down a driveway at a group of units.

Anyway I had a hunch where the WP1 was as I work railway rd.. came back to work and Cazman and I found WP/cache after a nice walk through the area.(had no idea that was there either, I know where I am having lunch now)

Note to other caches, I can see some damage in the area Sad please be a little more carfull when you search, there is no need to "scratch" or move anything to find the cache.. and its not under that tree everyone is digging under! (leaf litter is not a concern)

Took nothing, Left TB and Rock N Serve tupperware keyring (from a black day 4 justin I think)

Popped TFTC coin.

I might make a habbit of dropping TB's in here when they are removed as its closer than wandining along on bosses orders

Found friendly feline (picture attached)

Found the first way point not a problem (as I work near blackburn station) counted the E's and headed for the location..

unfortunatley I had an "incident" on my bike thanks to some gravel that snapped a spoke and buckled my rim making it impossible to continue.

Will get back to this cache when I get a chance.

My mothers day present, I found it. I have had a couple of tries at this but I was feeling lucky today so I thought I would tackle a few that confused me. Today no problem's at all. I was out early so there were no passer bys. I know realise that I just can't count properly. Great little hide. Glad I had those fellow cache's hints. Thanks for bringing me here.

21-Feb-09
Nice bit of history around WP1 - this family left a legacy of these containers all around the area, and several still exist despite the fact that they'd be totally unused for at least the last 30 years.

WP2 I've spotted on my daily commute to work. Nice to see that government incompetence and stupidity is left plainly in view like this! It IS somewhat difficult to work out where you can park in this area.

With the help of the immediate neighbor, we found the cache. He asked me to point out that it's approx 12m north of where our GPS (and apparently many other peoples' GPS) lead them. GZ according to our GPS was right at a wasp's nest, and the area immediately around it is delicate enough that it really shouldn't be disturbed.

If you hear the buzzing and/or biting of wasps while searching for the cache, head back 12m to near the "entrance" and you can search there with much better results.

An easy find on the first waypoint, but with three of us we all got different numbers, we we fingered every E necessary and finally agreed a set of co-ords. The next waypoint is quite funny, but seeing as how people will interpret things very literally, quite necessary.
The cache was initially pointing into the peoples yards so we ignored it and searched elsewhere until The Mini Mob pointed out that the area the GPS was pointing wasn't actually a yard. Doh!
An easy find after trusting the GPS.
Took nothing, left nothing.
Thanks clockwise for this cache today.

Hmmm...waypoint 1. Three people, three different numbers of E's! Twisted
Using the tried & true finger method, we made our way to the very amusing waypoint 2. There was a major garage sale happening nearby, so we melded in as interested parties.Wink
Waypoint 3 was trickier, as we all decided that it couldn't be in someone's yard, so the GPS must be a little off today. Ms Mini came to the rescue, as she spotted something that was very out of place in the middle of a row of houses. Well, well, well...we should have trusted our GPS after all. Red Face
With previous logs re the neighbour, we kept really quiet as we retrieved the cache & signed the log. Took dice, left frogs & car. Thanks clockwise for a fun multi that took us to some interesting places we had never been before.

We were caught at this location by the neighbour. We explained our activity and he was most amused to find that the cache had been there for some years. First cachers he had seen. Later this same guy busted us at a second cache. Now he understands these this things are everywhere. I sure hope he doesn't come to Adelaide and bust me again.

We had a little trouble getting the numbers correct and after coming up empty handed the first time we enlisted a little help from a friend, we were then pointed in the right direction. Made swaps (forgotten what) and then headed off to our next cache

On my way to our last walk of the year nearby, this was the closest one that needed to be done. I attacked GZ from the south and who should be there from the north side but our good friends Alsume.

We pooled our collective talents but still couldn't find the prize. I was just about to put in a mercy call to Paris (no kidding) when Al asked if we had "checked there". The answer was "no", so he did and voila we had the cache in hand at 9:35.

There was still plenty of daylight so we and Tokass went looking for the first WP. Even though the GPSr put us acros the road it was clear what the unusual item was in this day and age. We counted, did our sums and headed off to WP2. It turned out that Tokass(m) had walked around the area not long ago and was familiar with the "parking spot". Setting the final coords put us in a likely spot but frustratingly no turn up until Tokass(m) saw the light. A friendly feline helped us write up the log. TNLN. Thanks clockwise.

Weren't sure if we wanted to pursue this cache as we began
checking our poor satellite coverage which sent us to the middle of a major thoroughfare as commuter traffic was starting to build. But...we did find the interesting historic object. So after taking your advice on checking

No problems with the neighbourhood grouch. Our success made us leap for joy. Thanks clockwise for the tour and hide.

It certainly did take more than one count to arrive at the correct number, and even then there was a modicum of doubt! Had we got it right!
And yes we did park there and also wondered how far did we spread the count for the signs!

Found by edmil & maddie. Found the first waypoint with no problem, however it was pelting down with rain. We tested our eye sight (yup mine was better than maddies) and came up with the good in a single take. There was no way we were going to get out of the rain. Well we got it right and waypoint 2 was a cinch. How intelligent is the mob that did these signs. Guess what I parked for a few moments just to get that rebellious feeling - felt good. The cache was a bit elusive as the GPS was finding it difficult to lock. eventually got a lock and took a stab at the location. bingo I had it. About to replace when locals or friends arrived made it a bit difficult bit the return of the rain help. got rid of them and sort of wet me but cache replaced. Thanks for the cache TNLN

I miscounted initially, but when it came to fudging the numbers for WPT 2 there were only a couple of combinations possible. The next waypoint was very amusing, I didn't park there as I was another street away. I struggled with GZ and had to resort to checking every possibility. The cache turned up in a curious little hiding spot!

Found 200704011700 Smile. The official reason for flexing out this way this afternoon was to look at computers in the nearby stores, but a cache cannot be easily passed by Wink

I collected the required information easily at the first and second waypoints, but the cache was eluding me (and I didn't wasnt to damage the environment either), so I placed a call to the Facitman helpline to see if he had found this one

After a bit of begging over the GSM network, I had enough information to spot the cache in a location I had previously looked.... just not hard enough [B)]

I took my brother in-law out this morning for his first cache. After having talked about it at different times he was excited to give it a try. Since this was a multi-cache I thought it would be a good one to give him an idea of all involved. We even met fellow geocacher Coffee&Cache while working out one of the clues. It was funny because as we where standing there counting E's C&C walked up and said: "Counting E's by any chance?" My brother in-law said later: "It's like a secret club, with code words and everything!" We found the cache a few minutes later and took the whistle. I put in a yo-yo.
Thanks for the cache.

We had 4 people in tow, and after a couple of readings, managed to get a consensus on the number of E's. Then we headed off to Waypoint 2, and in the excitement, forgot to read the rest of the instructions, and proceeded to look for the cache at location 2 for about 15 min. We were about to leave, when someone spotted another likely spot, and a quick check revealed the cache. Didn't we feel silly when we returned to the car and read the rest of the instructions... Wink

this was our first multi cache. we found the first waypoint easily and after counting many times over, we headed off to the second waypoint. found this nice and easily and thought that we had this cache in the bag. then we spent a while scratching in the dirt and couldn't find it. with lots of workmen around, we headed back to the car for lunch and came back on a full stomach and heidi found it within minutes - looking in a place that russell had already checked! great cache and a nice hide. the trees were playing havoc with our gps, so we had to resort to using our brains - at least one of us did:p

As I drove past the published location, I noticed a couple who looked like they were counting E's. After parking, I headed there and discovered it to be findemhideem. After making my count we compared results - no correlation. We counted together and came up with an answer we all agreed on.

While they headed home, I headed to WPT2, and then on to GZ. My GPS was unsure where to point me. Initially, it took me to one spot, but kept bouncing back and forwards. I checked a number of places before finally finding it somewhere I'd checked before. Thanks for showing me these pieces of Blackburn and for the cache.

We followed the GPS and your co-ordinates and if we hadn't spotted the object our GPS would have led us into the middle of Canterbury rd! Dad counted the number of E's but left out lots luckily he had his daughter to count it for him ^^! The second location was pretty funny but we think it is for doing U turns to get out. Couldn't they have put just one no standing sign though? ANyway, we looked around on the wrong side of the road for a while before we realised, and just as Dad was about to give up I spotted a sliver of plastic. As I took it out and got down I had to sit on it - The same muggle that had come past twice already was coming past again.

Having counted the E's with a friend from Qld, we agreed on the number but found later to be out by one.
Not to worry though Dak sorted us out Smileand we found the other clue then went to GZ. My GPSr was pointing at the location and I knew that it would have to be there BUT, pretty please clockwise; could you indicate to people who are vertically challenged and OFAF(over 50 and female) that it could be unreachable!! Not all of us have the Gibbon gene. There was a lower hidey hole that would suit short people better. Also when retrieving the cache, the neighbours came out onto their balcony unexpectedly and looked directly at my OFAF Qld friend hanging on the flora and very visible above the trellis trying to retrieve the container (which was pushed down too hard when it was returned by a previous cacher - Ta). They must have seen this queer sight before however because they never questioned us. Thank you for the cache clockwise. I will look forward to the next one.Wink

Found by Mary & David at 1745. We each counted three times and compared notes. We finally agreed on the third attempt. WP2 turned out to be fairly easy, but we made the cache itself harder than it needed to be. Didn't believe where the GPS was pointing at first. In the end, we found GZ to be quite accurate without applying any correction. TNLN. Our thanks to clockwise for a great hide.

Found on the third attempt. WP1 was no problem, but I initially got the minutes wrong, which put me near a factory, then I must have counted the Es wrong, because there was no way in. I returned to the computer, made some educated guesses about what I'd missed, and remembered I'd been to WP2, so calculated the final co-ords. Found after 5 min search. Took nothing. Dropped off Lead Me On TB.

Found by Facitman, the Facit-Family, FacitGrandma and FacitPa at 15:15
After lunching at the FacitGrandparents we took the opportunity to enjoy the sunshine and some caches. Arrived at the first waypoint, which FacitPa knew about and even provided some history, and started counting. After many many counts it was accepted that Facitman indeed could count, (well he does hang around adding machines a lot Big Grin ) and we set off to the next WP. Facitman was fairly sure where he was going... approximately! Arrived at WP2 and performed an easier count this time. Set off to the final location and like previous finders were initially unsuccessful. Read the other logs and adjusted our search area. Soon e-facit spotted the cache and s-facit extracted it.

Thanks clockwise for providing the FacitGrandparents their first successful caching experience

I had just re-set my gps from a previous exercise and was not sure that I had got it right! Found WP1 ok although I was 30m off - me? sats? probably! Made sure that I added properly and set off for wp 2 which I found still off! Working out gz I allowed for the error only to find that in fact things seemed to be working ok. Using DAK's suggestion I was spot on gz and found the cleverly hidden cache after a few minutes. Muggles were passing by and there was music very close by so I TNLN. Thanks clockwise for some fun this afternoon.

This is another great example of a good urban cache. I have been past this location thousands of times but never knew about the history behind the trough.
After arriving at the location we gathered the clues and crunched the numbers and at first we knew something was wrong as it placed the final location 200km away. the error was easily identified as the old must use the reading glasses when entering coordinates and with this error fixed we plotted the course to the final location.
We arrived the the final GZ and the cache was easily found in the first spot we looked which was sheer luck as there was many possible spots.
Many thanks to Clockwise for the cache and a fascinating piece of history, highly recomended.

Sixth of twelve caches for the day found at 12:15 in the company of Dak Emu. I have seen several of these troughs’s around while caching and wondered about the history. We made a bit of a hash at getting to GZ, don’t ask. There was no one around and after searching several areas we located the hide some 15m from the indicated GZ. It was hailing when we did the cache. Thanks Clockwise for the cache.

[Seventh of thirteen finds on a cold, rainy day in company with acts2youthgroup. We'd had a cup of coffee with Rabbitto this morning, and he mentioned that we could expect a hard time retrieving this one undetected. We gathered the numbers at WP1 after counting several times. WP2 was an easy find, so it was off to GZ. We searched the likely spots around our GZ, and when we came up dry we looked further afield. We found the cache 11m from GZ at 1215. I made no exchange. Thanks to clockwise for the cache.

GPS coverage was hard to come by in there, but I decided to take a reading anyway. I had contact with six satellites, but an EPE of 14m. So, you can take my reading with as many grains of salt as you wish. However, if you are having trouble finding it, you could try this:] subtract point zero zero six from the attitude.

Found by Bob at 1025

Having read the previous logs, I was rather looking forward to this one - I've done quite a few easy ones lately, and was relishing a bit of a challenge. Don't get me wrong, I like easy ones (especially if I'm on my way to work) but, now and then, you need something a bit harder just to feel that buzz you get from triumphing over a toughie Wink. I'd done the 1st wp yesterday while heading further south, so today I could concentrate on the final area. Unfortunately, it was raining quite heavily (I ride a motorbike) so I was wearing all my stuff (helmet, gloves, wet weather gear) which restricts my movement quite a bit and I didn't find it as soon as I (perhaps) would have otherwise. Still, as Sherlock Holmes said "When you have eliminated the possible, whatever remains - no matter how improbable - must be the truth" and it only took 10-15 mins Big Grin. It's a rather pleasant spot for a cache, but I do echo earlier comments about the proximity to loungerooms, etc.

TNLN

Thanks clockwise - it's a great 1st cache and I enjoyed it heaps Smile.

Dear Clockwise,

We were out and about just nearby this area this morning so afterwards, we set off up the road to Blackburn and found your new cache at 11:30am. After seeing the DNF and the FTF log we were a little worried before setting out. We gained the correct info from WP1 and set off and found the info at WP2 which made sense once we were there. We took the walk to GZ and although there were a multitude of hiding spots, younger "H" pointed staight away to the MOP (Most Obvious Place) and we had the cache in hand within 30 seconds. As per the notes from other loggers, we were happy to be in and out quickly as any nearby activity from the neighbours as per Pickupfamily, would have made this one unobtainable. We love this whole residential area that your cache covers and we nearly ended up living nearby when we first moved to Melbourne many years ago. Thanks for our 1st Clockwise cache and for those counting, our 64th STF (Second to Find)

Regards,

Found at 4.55pm GAFF4. This turned out to be a bit of a botched job. We worked out the preliminaries quite quickly and even knew exactly the public way where GZ was located. However do you think we could actually find the thing! Eventually we called Farmers and he directed us to a spot that we had checked, but not well enough. Our GPSr's were saying between 7m and 15m distance at that spot, so it is within acceptable bounds. Thanks clockwise for bringing us back to our old stomping grounds. Took: Salt & pepper shaker - I want to see if I can convert it into a cache container! Left: Tina tag.

A Rememberance day FTF.Also a famous day for"Neds hanging","the Canberra sacking" and "Dame Nellies birthdate" !Arrived at the horse-trough and was hoping it was full of water as could have done with a splash-down in the warm conditions.Found the trickiest part was right here-we counted those "e" letters 8 times and still it didnt fit. After finally getting the correct digits moved to the next location.Thought this could be tricky as we counted up to 13 signs but tried the logical and treked to the final stash location.Stealth was going to be required and boy it is hard to be quiet in a billion crackily leaves. Many possible hide spots ,but junior farmergirl hit the "bingo" location and a great sigh followed .Certainly a top hide spot.Took lanyard and put in superball, logged the FTF first page and never seen this final region before.A well recommended multi, clever hide and well produced by the clockwise team..thanks..fully enjoyed.

FTNF by all four of the Pickupfamily at 1215hrs. No problems with the first two waypoints (in fact we even parked on Canterbury Rd, the no-standing sign is one-way only) but the GZ we ended up at was right ajacent to an open window of a house in which somebody was working right there. Lots of leaf litter around meant we couldn't search much without attracting unwanted attention. Even so, we ended up saying hello to another inhabitant of the house as they walked back home with their shopping and we also got sprung talking to their adopted cat. We evacuated soon after to avoid arousing too much suspicion. We did get to look in what we thought were the obvious spots, expcept there were a few more we couldn't get to given the muggle activity. I think if we were at the right GZ it is going to be very hard to get to this cache, even (especially?) at night, without disturbing the neighbours or arousing suspicion. Will contact the cache owner to check our co-ords.
