Did not attempt. Circled around the cache from the park and main road about 50 meters away. All entries were waist high grass/bushland. Also very swampy area.

Second cache for the day. This required a bit of thinking and skirting around the edged until we discovered the best spot to go in without getting muddy feet. Took a few loops around at GZ to spot it. the log book is damp but managed to sign it. TFTC, nice surprise oldie.

27-Jun-24
I came to this area well over a year ago but decided that it was too wet to get through to gz - there had been a lot of recent rain. But today it was fairly dry, so no wet feet. The area near gz has been cleared a bit, and there are lots of tracks and rubbish too unfortunately, but the cache was found safe and sound in its hidey hole. Logbook signed and replaced as found. Tftc

After an early morning start with alphag_25 leaving the Gold Coast and unfortunately heading home after a 3 1/2 week holiday. Ahh have to earn the money to take these holidays. Very overgrown at GZ but managed to find a way in and found the cache. Finding some of the older caches to fill in some spaces. TFTC

14-Apr-24
Heading from the Gold Coast back towards Brisbane Direction and grabbing some of the old geocaches along the way. On our way back to Mackay and seeing what other spaces we can fill on the DT grid. Tftc slOn a caching holiday from Mackay. In the search of old caches and ones to fill DT grid spaces. Found TFTC SL Thanks for placing this cache for our enjoyment.

Found it with many thanks to the log left by gumbutbaby Smile Thank you!!

11-Feb-24
This was my first for the day. I parked in Fulton St and walked over to GZ. It was unapproachable from the park as the tall grass seemed to be a virtual cane field. Walking around from the street side I found a path close to the intersection that showed signs of use in the form of empty bottles. I kept venturing in until I found the strangler fig, using a stick to knock down countless spider webs (so many thanks to all the mozzies this wet season). I circled the tree before spying something under some natural cammo and managed to avoid putting my face in more spider webs while bending down to retrieve the cache.Log is a little soggy, but to be expected with the recent weather. Otherwise all was well and I was soon on my way back out of this serene little spot and on the hunt for a bison.TFTC

Thanks for the cache. Happy to find this oldie on my travels. Log is damp, could use another. Signed and placed back

Log is damp. Needs a new one.

03-Feb-24
That was an awkward trip, but we got it. TFTC

10-Dec-23
The grass here is way high! We had the option of more than head height grass, or just shoulder height... Climbed over from the road as it seemed the least dangerous way! Log was really wet - we did the best we could to drain, but probably needs some attention. TFTC!

Out caching today with Ardom, collecting a few south side oldies and getting some fresh air. A great way to start the holidays TFTC. Spent a while looking for the easiest/ safest way in and then it was a quick find after that.

25-Nov-23
At first I tried to approach this cache from the park but with the grass well over my head, I decided to check first if there was a better way in. In the end I dropped down off the Logan Rd footpath and waded through waist high grass then headed towards the tree. I did a full circuit without seeing the container so the camo worked well. On the second lap I was checking more carefully and easily found the cache. Thanks Crew153 for another little bush bashing adventure!

22-Nov-23
Hard to find the easiest way in to this location. As previously noted the log is quite wet and hard to separate the pages. The pencil in the cache won't write on the soggy paper. Needs a couple of hours of drying in the sun ...

18-Nov-23
Found this in awesome spot once your inGround picked up for a new home

13-Nov-23
Having tried a few ways to get in here I finally found an avenue to look around the ground was very wet and the mozzies were fierce, the vines and grass was super tall. This one is a struggle and a half. This one needs some loving and id say a new container as the log is super wet. Thanks for placing this one here.

Our first find since moving to this area. Logbook completely saturated. Geocoin left in place for next find. Tftc.

Australia
A country that has fascinated me for a long time. But the distance to get there was just as great as the desire to drive there. So it was dreamed but not implemented.
But then our friend nalfion moved again. And this time to Down Under. That gave the go-ahead to plan a little more firmly for the first ideas and fantasies. The bosses were asked about a longer vacation and then we went to the travel agency with our rough ideas.
For such a complex thing we wanted to have support. And after a few appointments there, the basic structure was in place.
During our summer holidays we went to Sydney via Singapore, where we spent 2 days. 2 days in Sydney city and then we went with a small camper van with the whole family via Katoomba to Cairns. Our friend lives in Adelaide so ended up staying there for a few more days at the hotel before heading back to Germany without any lengthy stops via Melbourne and Singapore.
A wonderful holiday that at least brought us a little closer to this huge country and gave us many great memories.
We staey at the holiday Parks Campground around the corner, but I wanted to find our "cache of the day" so I chose this one.
Finding the right entrance was a bit challenging first, but once in the green the cache was an easy find.
Thanks for the Cache.

I can remember coming to do this one ages ago and the whole area was strangled with weeds. Today it looks as though someone has machetied a geotrail direct and another oldie close by seems to have a photo of that tree. Nice to find. TFTC

Today was another drive to the southside of Brisbane. Main targets where old caches. What I need is 2006 or older.
I was back here to find some more caches from Crew 153.
Later today I meet up with The Green Geckos, Muggle65 and Mummy Bear and her cubs to get the final for Love/Hate series. Yippee

Had a great day out.

I got 24 finds for today the breakdown was. 9 traditional, 2 mystery, multi, letterbox and 3 adventure labs with 11 waypoints.
Sorry for the generic log

11-Dec-21
This afternoon, I thought I would take a drive down south to Wishart, with my target to commence the *Mimosa* series from *SandPit*. It was a nice creek path, and I continued along the area exploring around Malinya Place Park. As I was approaching my planned timing for being home for dinner, it was a final stop around Eight Mile Plains.

This was my first geocache of the afternoon, and perhaps I hadn't completely fathomed how difficult this one would be. Normally my starting geocache is a warm-up...
After parking in the car park nearby, my initial route was down the path to access this cache from the bridge area, however I could see how dense that area was, and so I decided to not even attempt from that direction. Consequently, I went around the "block" to approach the main road, and after walking past the fence, I spotted an access route that still involved some bush bashing.

My GPS was bouncing around the area, but I suspected the tree in question to which this geocache was named from. Unlike previous finders, this wasn't a quick find for me, and I spent several minutes making loops, and then questioning my coordinates to search amongst the vicinity. As it turned out, I just wasn't expecting such a well hidden cache (although that is probably why this oldie has lasted so long!). So very nicely hidden, and the cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks Crew 153 for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance. It was also nice to have found this oldie 12/2006 hidden cache, which is one of Queensland's 500 oldest yet active geocaches.

20/11/21 Find #5206
I was having a fun day out with KbreeAHH today, and after grabbing a couple of older caches at Oxley Creek Common, we headed back to hers and then off for a fun-filled lunch, where we were joined by SaintsMadHouse and a few cocktails, before Ponchomon11 also arrived post-work, to play taxi for us.
On the way back to KbreeAHH’s again, we made a brief stop here, to find this one. KbreeAHH was under the impression Ponchomon11 had not yet found it, however, it seems he had snuck over here and grabbed it earlier in the week.
Of course the downside was I had nice clean shoes on today as we weren’t planning on too much caching, and what we had planned was clean fun only.
Oh well, guess I’ll be putting them in the washing machine later.
Ponchomon11 headed in with me while KBreeAHH stayed behind, contemplating the nearby swing, until she was halted in her actions by an arriving Fangsoki and Pprime. We however made relatively short work here today, and I discovered Ponchomon11’s little secret with his name marked here as the previous finder.
Then we headed back to join the party and make our way back to KbreeAHH’s for a bit.
Thanks for the cache Crew 153.

Found after 10th walk past but first time searching for it. I kept walking past it after recent rainfall and thought that I might need to get gumboots to get through it all but this time I did not. Finally found a path to it that maybe previous cachers had made to get here.

I am getting closer with each find to get to the 300 find goal I have and then moving on to my 500th find.

As for the cache itself, was not super obvious to me where it was hidden but then I was on my own for the search as the Geopartner was waiting for me at the near by park as she had found it before and did not want to help/spoil it for me. I am still getting used to the difficulty ratings and the terrain so it might be more easier for those who have cached a lot more then I have/am.

Thank you for the cache.

I can see the tree in question (according to the description) but it is inaccessible to anyone who cannot levitate and does not want to die a horrible death by snakebite. Overgrown grass nearly 2m tall for 30m on all sides

23-Jun-21
Long grass but found it

23-Jun-21
Almost didn't go ahead with this one because of the long grass but I braved up lol follow the track in and all is good. Once you get in it's a pretty quick find. Thank you

20-Jun-21
Out with TripleTurmoil, Willis007 and Bella the Geodog for a day of caching on the south side while paying close attention to the Mimosa series and grabbing a couple other caches along the way.

We weren't sure how to access GZ due to the long grass and swampy water, but after closer inspection we noticed a geotrail heading in the direction we wanted. After a short walk avoiding the water, downed trees and long grass we eventually made it through to GZ and made a quick find. Thanks for bringing us here today.

This was a cache that just happened to be close by when we stopped to get one of the mimosas. The long grass was a bit of a deterrent....along with the swampy looking area, but we persevered. After only about 10 m of long grass, it does clear out to an area where you can better see what you are standing. Glad I had company of Nayfee and Willis007 though, as I would not have looked for that on my own.

20-Jun-21
On a cache hunting mission with Triple Turmoil and NayFee, we stopped by to find this one. Was tricky to find the initial way in but got there in the end.
The cache was found in good condition. Thanks Crew 153 for bringing us here.

Didn’t like this one ... long grass got it though!

09-Apr-21
Could not find access to it at this time.

07-Apr-21
Too flooded to attempt to get to GZ today.

02-Apr-21
Geohubby whimped out on climbing through the long grass and potential wet feet. So I volunteered. Never one to let a good cache go undiscovered. Glad the grass thinned out and trail very obvious. Mosquito's found me quicker than I found the cache. But description meant I was in right spot. Yep had it in hand and signed. Took photo. TFTC

It took a while to find a suitable way in to GZ due to the recent rain and very long grass. Patience prevailed. Cache is in good condition. Thanks for placing.

Very sticky situation

Definately one of the harder ones to get to. Long socks and proper shoes are a necessity. Once you get to it it was a sneaky and hard find. Definately needed more than 2 eyes on this one

A few times around the object of interest & cache soon located! T4TC, for which I couldn't get to in Jan

18-Jul-20
Rolling up here today on the tredley after a surprisingly quick run down a bikeway i never knew existed alongside the motorway, i ummed and aahed a few minutes, before braving the plunge in off the path.
Where i quickly discovered the item in question.
My first cache hide up the coast also highlights the symbiosis found here, so I've somewhat of a soft spot for this cache, with it's long age, so close to everywhere, yet never muggled, it was a joy to read the online logs of so many cachers names i've read about or come across over time.
And the native stingless honey bee nest was the cherry on top.
An easy favourite.
Thank you.

Due to a sewage overflow problem, , the access to the little bush wasn't possible, even forbidden. We will have to wait till all is clean again.

Whilst out chasing gems we drove past this one. As the gems were quick to find we were able to add this one to our afternoon adventure. There is a well worn geotrail that leads to this cache. Thanks Crew153.

26-Jun-19
I had been in the area previously and unable to find an entrance. Today I just 'barged' in hope to find an easier track to get to GZ. Made it.

Such an easy find once in there. So close to the busy road but all by myself. Both trees are still living in harmony for now.

We parked near here accidentally at first before realising this cache was nearby which also happened to be on our 'to do' list... woohoo! We stomped our way through the sludge and found the cache being guarded by a big spider. Lucky for me, Eskies5 had pretty much pushed it away before realising it was there, hehehe. Signed and returned for spidey buddy to settle back onto. Thanks for the cache, Crew 153!

We found ourselves in the carpark for this one without realising it. Very happy with ourselves we set off through the jungle. No wonder this one has lasted...very much off the beaten track so to speak. TFTC Crew 153

Was here on the way to work some time ago, decided that it was too much nature for my work clothes.
On a mission in the dark tonight, I thought I would stop for the log here as well as I was properly dressed for the walk to GZ.
A wallaby in there somewhere was all the wildlife I encountered.
The cache was found in good condition
Thank you for hiding in this patch of forest

Normally I don’t drive down the Gateway on a Friday because every Friday on the Gateway is Black Friday. Even all the extra lanes don’t help on what is becoming the most busted day of the week to travel. This was my daughters first week at university and with exams in the first week (WTF! Exams in Week 1?) we couldn’t take the risk on public transport so I came home early from the pub last night and slapped the Uber sticker on the car to get her there by 8am.

Well I knocked off from work after lunch and hesitantly made my way back with time to kill. There was no rush to get myself stuck in traffic because the definition of insanity is doing the same thing twice expecting a different result then ending up in a traffic jam.

I saw where I needed to go and wondered whether my caching sandals were up to the task. I had to ask whether I really, really, really, (emphasis on “really”) wanted this. Of course I did! tftc

After a bush bash to collect a Mimosa thought we may as well be adventurous and beat our way through the thigh high grass to this one! Quick find! TFTC

01-Sep-18
It was with some trepidation that the decision was made to enter the bush. Gees standing on the path we were only 40m away from the cache and the grass was teasing us to enter. WTF, may as well give it a look see. Glad this was a quick find. Now back to the car. Thanks for maintaining this cache Crew 153.

28-Jun-18
Having failed at the nearby (maybe) Photo Finish multi, I had expanded my search some distance to try and pick up the trail. No. And for some reason I was walking on a path that whilst 'towards' where Suzee[X] was parked, the trail went wide and I ended up a long way away from her. But I was near to this cache, so as to make the walk worthwhile I went bush and quickly had name in logbook at this lovely old strangler tree.

Thanks for placing this cache, Crew 153. Found in good condition. (Sorry didn't have a spare logbook on me, but there is some white space in the logbook still)

Kids freaked out but we got there and had fun

02-Sep-17
We had tried to attempt this earlier in the year, but upon seeing the tall grass, had immediately turned back to the car for fear of snakes! This time, we weren't even intending to do this cache, but were on our way home and, on a whim, He-Squirrel pulled into the car park and asked if I thought we should give this one another try? The grass still looked long, but with winter officially over, and snake season looming, this would probably be our only opportunity before snake season is over for another year, so let's do this!

There was a distinct geotrail in, but that's where the niceties end...Never mind snakes, it was their 8-legged friends that we had to be careful of, at every angle imaginable! And, as is always the case, we found a much more direct and less precarious route out to the main road once the cache had been found!

I decided to make a journey from - how is it you say it - the "dark side" and repair this cache that I apparently found 6½ years ago. Crew 153 is not able to respond on account of not being in the State.

Cost of a 200ml Sistema : $2.90
Look of appreciation on a fellow geocacher's face : Priceless.

The cache container has been replaced and ready for the next 10½ years. Same log and swaps.

Thank you to Fangsoki. It is good to see that there are some cachers who are willing to put an effort into supporting the game by maintaining caches when the CO is not available.

01-Jul-17
All good to go. Thanks to Fangsoki for the replacement cache.

29-Jun-17
Found the cache in poor condition.
Log damp, container lid almost non existent.
The cache has been repeatedly mentioned (over the past 12 months) in logs as damaged and/or wet & a Needs Maintenance dated 29/10/2016 has obviously elicited no response.
If there is no longer any CO interest or maintenance perhaps this cache needs to be archived as, in it's present state, it is fast becoming no more than litter.
Made our marks , tidied up the cache as best as possible & tucked away where found.

Today is my birthday, and what better way to celebrate than to go caching with barbbowman and Mrs Just a Trifle Smile We hadn't planned to get this one today, it just happened to be near another cache that we had found the coordinates for while we were on our travels - sorry we didn't have a new container or log for it. Whoa, it definitely was an area that was being strangled, not just by figs, but also by weeds and creepers. We managed to find our way to GZ and it was so worth it. There was an amazing native beehive nearby with very busy bees, I was more focused on that and the amazing red sap coming out of the bloodwood tree that I walked straight past the cache. Oops! bb pointed out my mistake to me and we soon had the log signed. TFTC Crew153 Big Grin
