Solved many years ago but i was expecting the final to be " in a different place than it is ". I can see why you put the final up here. Nice views but a steep walk to get here.Today i decided to take a hike around Black Hill Conservation park, over 14 km's walked. I walked from one side of the park to the quarry on the other side of the park and then down a different track on the way back. It has been about 4 years since i have been in this park. I was surprised to see how many people walking and a couple riding around the park. Alot more kangaroos than last time i was here. Nice views from the peak of the hills.
Have to say I was a bit disappointed that the final cache was not close by and either have to wait for another day. Kept it on the to do list for a few weeks. Today's the day, weather good for a hike. Tried another couple on the way up with no luck, all hopes pinned on having worked out the coordinates right.... Found! In great condition exactly where the coordinates said it would be Saw a few roos on the way up too. TFTC
When I visited the starting coordinates this one over three months ago, I wasnt aware that the final was a considerable distance away. So I figured out the coordinates, made sure that they were accurate, and bided my time until I was in the area again. I know Ive likely been in the Black Hill area, over the last three months, I havent been on this trail. So today was the day.The coordinates were very accurate, and I found the container in great condition, even though it hadnt been found in just a little over two years. Signed the log, return the ammo, and on my way. TFTC for lots of fun!By the way, to make this one even more challenging, I wind up riding my bike about 30 km round-trip just to get to the hiking portion of the day. I think Im an idiot.
Out for a long hike, and just happened to stroll by this nice little park.I think I have all the correct information, but will wait for confirmation from the owner.
Last time I visited Black Hill was in 2007, well before I started caching. So with solutions to several puzzles it was time to revisit this area.
Great views. Picked up TB

On the hunting trail again with SeasonedBird. I’ll leave the more interesting & detailed log to Mrs Geo (aka: SeasonedBird, Salty Chook, the Old Boiler, Old Chook, Dirty Bird or Angry Bird) because she writes so much more eloquently than I and usually has much more time to do so while I’m driving. It’s a great day for caching. TFTC four-fun

With more on the solved list and some multis to finish off it was another day in the hills, up and down so many times I lost count. Having done part of this one before it was time to pick up where we left off before and finish it.
A great walk around and plenty of Roos about including a number with Joeys.
The cache was quickly located and the signing duties completed. TFTC

After helping at the CITO in Hackham I decided to head up Black Hill to attempt to make a dent in the list of solved puzzles and multis I had up there. Managed to find about 8 caches which I was happy with. Sadly my target cache was a dnf and I was also advised by others that there are many many caches on that hill so I will have to stagger up there again (probably lots of times) in the future.
It was quite a hot day and I was under prepared energy and liquid wise. Was very happy to get back to the car safe and sound for a feeding and eating frenzy followed by a Mexican feast on the way home. Was very grateful not to see any snakes whilst out and about, I am sure the saw me though!
Have had the final for this one for a long time after visiting the starting coords a couple of years ago. Oh no it’s up there, was running out of steam by the time I got to this one glad it was towards the end of my walk. Struggled up the hill from the path and eventually found the hide. Always good to find an ammo can and the view was sensational. TFTC

Out and about in the Black Hill and Morialta areas today. CoC on foot while Brad had his MTB. Our main goal was to finish traversing the Yurebilla and complete the remaining Z multis but along the way there were a number of detours. Quite a few like this one found us opening an Ammo can, one of our favourite container types. CoC had found this so Brad made the final detour alone.

I first went with gridge98 and jesswrigley to the posted coordinates to this park, and collected the numbers, only to then perform the calculations, and realise it wasn't just around the corner! It was a winter evening and was already dark, so there was no way that we were headed to GZ that night. That turned out to be 1.5-2 years ago in fact.
This evening with looming COVID-19 lockdown impacts growing closer every day, I was still determined to head out for some fitness whilst we still had the freedoms. Hence, this evening, I headed out with jesswrigley to hike some of Black Hill. We walked up the Ghost Tree Gully Trail all the way to the top of the hills, and then descended along the slopes just as it was getting dark. We only managed to see a couple of other joggers on our hike, so the area was pretty remote. There were a few geocaches along the way that hadn't been found in quite some time, which also decreased any risk of COVID-19 transmission. A really nice area with many kangaroos out and about feeding at dusk.
We managed to make the trek all the way up to GZ, where the cache container was quickly found just off the main trail. Some really nice views from here. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks four-fun for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

Today I headed up black hill early as I had an event on at 3, I left the car park at midday to collect a few puzzles in the area. Mostly zytherns with a few others in the mix. A great day for walking considering the last few days of extreme weather. Was great to get a few years unloved on some of them too.

I not long back, did the work for this one and only today, Sun 10 Dec 2017, nice and early, I made my way up here, huff and puff included [:o]
Stunning views up here. I was even visited by 2 Sulphur Crested Cockatoos that seemed more interested in gorging on the seeds of the Xanthorrhoea Australis nearby Pics were taken
SL at 08:50. Took one of the two TB's to come to Hobart, Tasmania with me this Christmas [^]
A fave point for this Multi that I found fun to do from start to finish. TFTC four-fun

Owl rang Mrs SA Sewer Rats to see if she wanted to go caching today and discovered a secret plot to reach Bobnirvana. Owl was in! Having found the easy caches, it was time to go for more difficult terrain. The team persuaded Owl that she could do it and by day's end she was astonished by what she had done. Owl drives past the starting coordinates for this cache on a regular basis but never thought she'd get to the end point. (In fact, this morning she pointed to it and said, "I hope we're not going up there!") Fantastic views and totally worth it. (She hopes her legs agree tomorrow!) Favourite point territory for sure!

Guess what we made it up here and worth while for the views.
For the effort of the group and the views a favourite point.TFTC

S.A. Sewer Rats are fast approaching Bob Nirvana. In an effort to help them achieve this grand slam of geocaching splendor I have been working away at the Latest BFE puzzles in collaboration with them for the past few months. So a date was set to go and get these and the three BFE caches in Black Hill. Of course there would also be a few others to grab as we walked past. The good Doctor Owl joined us.
When we started out on our little walk Owl looked up and said, "I hope we are not going up there. My knee will never make it." No owl, the BFE is around the back. We are going around.
A few hours later and we found ourselves between two BFE caches and very close to the end point of this cache which Owl had sitting in a file labelled "Very unlikely to get"
So up we went and the knee lasted all the way.
We found the cache and swapped a few TBs. The views are just amazing and of couse a FP was awarded.
This is of those 'must do' caches. Thanks so much four-fun.

Fount as part of our plan to get to the top of the hill for sundown. We missed sunset but we did find the cache. TFTC
Gathered the necessary data for this one just over a year ago! Finally the opportunity came to earn the smiley tonight whilst on a night hike :cD Such a beautiful location... which I gather would be much more so with a little more natural light :cP TFTC four-fun!!
Went to the initial location some time ago to calculate GZ. Got the opportunity tonight to go and retrieve it on a night hike. A beautiful spot, especially at night. TFTC
Collected the initials for this cache after a CITO in the last year or so and have sat on the GZ location since then. So, when the opportunity to claim a smiley presented last night, we couldn't resist. A pretty fast find with an assortment of animals, TFTC
Thank goodness for bgmat on this one! It was a nice walk through the park and after spending a few minutes too long on another cache went after this one. I sat on a log while bgmat went and found it!!!
Veni. Vidi. Vici. Scripsi. Vidi. Vidi.
Cache for the day needed so decided to call geodaughter and see if she was interested in a leisurely stroll through Black Hill and see if we could get a cache or two in our stroll. Had solved this a long time ago and it had sat in the TBF queue for too long.
Met Ablea86 at the car park and wandered in. Wasted a lot of time looking for another one on the way so abandoned that one to continue on to this one. Lovely stroll and spectacular scenery, but lots of unfortunate initials being muttered along the way as we continued to climb to GZ. At least the stroll down would be easy.
Finally reached GZ and started to look and soon spied SPOR and there was the cache. Extracted the log and put some initials in the log with a date and replaced it in its hide.
Then wandered back to go to the next cache

I did part 1 of this many years ago. And made a mistake which put GZ on Montacute Rd. A few years later I corrected that mistake and realised that I was in for a bit of a walk to GZ. Jump forward a few more years to today and I finally got around to going to up to GZ and finding the cache!

Solved this one with the help of the geokids, but once I saw where the final was, I decided it would be a solo hike while the geokids were at school.
After picking up a couple Z puzzles nearby, I was ready to tackle this cache. The terrain is actually not too bad do the cache was found without too much problem.
Thanks for the cache.

It had been a while since I visited the street corner to find the answers.
Since then I have had no emergency callers in the middle of the night
After a good nights sleep, I set off to find the cache this morning.
A coolish start to the day promised to develop into a warm and sunny one
Along my walk I found a couple of other caches before reaching the final summit
The views were spectacular and the air so clean today that the Yorke Peninsula was clearly visible.
The cache was an easy find after all the exercise

Found while caching with Locus_cache and RideTheGeoWalrus, before they attended the SAGA awards today. This hill climbing is tough! No wonder I don't get to these parts often. Even came across 3 "grannies" doing the walk. But the scenery I can't complain about. TFTC.
Spent the morning wandering through Black Hill Conservation Park with locus cache and Dennisc52 with the aim of replacing 'Sugar Loaves Sudoku' before the SAGA 13 awards. We made a few detours along the way and this one was the first find for me.
I've been past this spot quite a few times both pre and post caching aware, and am always amazed how beautiful and secluded this spot is. TFTC four-fun!

I met RideTheGeoWalrus and Dennisc52 early in the morning and we headed off and up to replace the missing Sugar Loaves Sudoku.
Had some amazing walks in some pretty spots while doing the locus cache [^] and managed to find 6 caches before racing down the hill to claim a FTF on a BFE cache then attend the 2013 SAGA event. Later, out with RideTheGeoWalrus, firesafe and Honeysucker I found 1 more smiley then headed home, exhausted [|)]
Having had the infomration for this cache for quite some time but not yet having been anywhere near GZ since I started caching, this was my first opportunity to find the cache.
I am so glad that I don't get wrong person phone calls in the middle of the night ...usually any night time calls are a geocacher using a PAF call

This was our second find for the day. Cache is looking good.
Lots of swaps. Left Japanese Driving License, took Mt Fuji Magnet.
I'm guessing that was left by Sushilord?
Thanks for the fun guys!

Gotcha!
After failing yesterday on a nearby puzzle, I was given some advice that this one might give me the motivation/excuse to get back up this way again.
The very next day, with coordinates in hand (well.. GPS anyway) I'm back up here.
Managed to find this one without any real troubles. But that other one... Even with the CO on the phone, it eluded me.
Thanks four-fun

Absolutely beautiful Adelaide Spring day and what better way to spend the afternoon than hunting for caches. Calculated the final co-ordinates but left the find to another day. Nice little park.
Thought we'd try for this one today, after grabbing the nearby clues yesterday. Noticed that the cache hasn't been found for a while and that there seems to be a TB stranded here so, on a beautiful winter's morning, we set off on our rescue mission (cue Mission Impossible theme music). But, after a few bad decisions and following the wrong track twice, we ended up a long way from GZ, with a very tired 5 year old and out of time. So we headed back to the car (screeching halt to MI theme). Will come back another time soon, better prepared and with more time. Thanks four-fun, so far, for a lovely walk!
We first attempted this cache in January 2011 by sorting our the clues and commencing our hike up the hill. Being a hot day and we weren't at all prepared with water or appropriate clothing, we decided to leave it for another day. We were also wondering if we were heading in the right direction and felt we also needed to double check our co-ords.
After many contemplations and nagging from geo-Matt do get this one done, we finally made the decision!
As we got to the carpark we came across dozens of people and tents indicated some sort of event and we thought, oh no we won't be able to do it today either! The event was "Eurobella" not sure if this is how it is spelt but it is a 56km marathon from Beliar to here. It was so fantastic to see the competitors tackle such difficult terrain for them after running so far already, many who were senior which is amazing.
We were allowed to climb up the hill as long as we stayed out of their way and it was wonderful having so many very mitovated people pass us on the way to the finish and we really enjoyed encouraging them, high 5-ving or just telling them how far to go.
Wow this was a lot further than we thought it would be. I was starting to doubt if we did have the right co-ords after all, but after finally climbing to the very top of a hill, we gave ourselves (Matt, Dec and me) a pat on the back and took in the view, although it was very windy with heavy clouds and rain on the way.
Now, how about the cache? Back to the GPS, fingers crossed, "Found it" they call out!! Yippieee.
Thankyou very much four-fun. We really enjoyed the challenge and appreciated this find.
Left a traval bug for the next adventurer (although don't let me put you off, it wasn't all that steep).

A 'like-minded' group assault by CoC, e.gregory1, Malco, FeatherWaite and T_M saw this cache visited amongst 17 others today (a bit of rain was no deterrent).
After a tip-off from the 'king of raw fish' we pencilled this cache into the journey for the day. Mal was the only one of us astute enough to collect the required information on the way. Another climb, second last for the day.
Fortunately, my real initials don't amount to much or school could have been hell (my daughter's spell ART which ironically she is quite fond of). TFTC four-fun.

Found today in the rain on a walk around the Black Hill CP area in the company of *Cache_or_Check*, Malco, Tiger Muffin and Featherwaite. Fortunately Malco grabbed the information we needed early in the morning, so it was just a matter of working out the finals and heading up there. Easier said than done! Thanks four-fun for the cache.

episode 11 featuring TigerMuffin, Malco!, Featherwaite, e.Gregory1 and *Cache_or_Check*
Our caching initials CoC are a bit unfortunate but it did give us a suitable avatar. The 'van den' in our actual family name is often abbreviated to VD which is also a bit unfortunate.
It was fortunate though that Malco! and e.gregory1 did a bit of homework for us and had the final coords for this cache. All we had to do is scale yet another peak in the park and sign the log , with our initials of course!

Following a tip-off that this one was located in an area that I was planning to visit today, I made a slight detour this morning to pick up the key values and solve the equation.
Happily, I got all the values right as finding it was not too difficult, albeit after several hours of hiking. Blow me down if *Cache_or_Check*, e.gregory1, FeatherWaite & Tiger_Muffin all had the same idea.
Thanks for the cache, four-fun.

Loved this park when we lived around corner. In fact geoson asked about it. However don't have time today for GZ. Thanks anyway.
Did the initial calculations well over a year ago, but it wasn't until now that I had a chance to complete the cache. Found with hiking companion Bob from Elsewhere during my second visit to Black Hill over the Easter break. Thanks for the puzzle and great final location four-fun!
This one was just a wee bit away from the initial coordinates.... Found while going for a run on a cool morning. Great cache.
Wow! After seeing the last find was nearly 10 months old, I was a little hesitant, but had said I'd take the 4yr old for a walk in the bush. Puzzle solved in a matter of minutes, and then off to the waypoint. Started off with buggy, but had to stash. I think having to carry a 20kg child should add another half star! Finally got to GZ, had a drink and a rest, and cache was in hand shortly after. Tried nearby trad, but terrain too hard whilst carrying said burden. Thanks for the walk, I should recover... Took two Koala key rings (mother and child I'm told ) left shark and frog puppets.
Wow, 19 months in the making for this cache for us. We started this cache in April last year when we did all the working out required, just needed to go past GZ. I think we must have skirted it so many times but never quite made it.
A lovely cool day today was just perfect for walking so off we went to collect this and another near GZ. We were so happy about finding the cache that we had cache 'tunnel vision'. It was only on the way back that realised that we did not take time to stop and enjoy the views.
A lovely stroll that was worth the wait.

Something along the lines of what Sushilord said: I made a mistake reloading my GPS at Some stage and lost my final coordinates for Sugar Loaves Sudoku, and Sushilord directed me up this hill. Found the cache and thought I'd found the Sudoku. Sushilord then suggested I head up the next hill for another cache I didn't know about, and that had Sugar Loaves Sudoku written on the front cover. After a bit of confusion, the travel bug we took was tracked down and I found this cache. I was good and did the first part a couple of days later.
TNLN, great location and interesting Cache
Thanks

Long story short: The SBI and I were caching in the area today. The SBI thought that he had the final coords for Sugarloaves Sudoku in his GPSr, I didn't becuase I had already found it. Coming out of Sugarloaves I suggest that we try for this cache relying on my memory, thinking it was Sugarloaves Sudoku.
We found the cache, and were amazed by the fantastic TB it contained, The SBI signed the logbook for us, but didn't check the cache name.
We continued on our way and I realized that we would be passing close to another cache that I had found, but The SBI said that he hadn't. Neither of us had the coords in our GPSr's, so we were relying on my memory again, and we came up with the goods again, only to see that the second cache was Sugarloaves Sudoku!!!
As I said at the outset long story short, but I had to explain how I came to pick up the Quiet Fawn TB from this cache.

Nice easy multi with a not-so-easy walk up to GZ! It was worth it though.
Thanks four-fun

Just happened to be passing by with Indaweeds so grabbed this one. Numbers fell out easily and the final the legs were numb. Thanks four fun
Found with A Mc, ocholio and jade.
Now that we have reached to top it was all down hill from here
Thanks Four fun for the walk

Having only completed an invasion of the area around GZ in mid-December, imagine my despair after working the coords out for this one! Especially when that invasion involved walking within 20m of the cache! [:(!] But an attack of the area and Hexagon Hell today with AdrianMc, Skippy and JadedOptimist made the perfect excuse to come back and get this slippery cache. Left a huge TB. TFTC fourfun.
Found on a day out and about with Skippy, Jaded Optimist and o'cholio.
Having driven past the start point for this one for ages and never stopping it was fortuitous that o'cholio had stopped to gather the required information that enabled a find while we were in the area today.
I always like this sort of cache better than those found in more urban settings.

Regarding DISK's log and the muggle find, I've actually met Soe and she told me she'd discovered a cache in this area - now I know which one . It's a small world after all!
Find 755 My Way Without a GPS
On a hike for the day with DISK demonstrating the art of Geocaching without a GPS.
My second visit to the GZ. The first visit produced no cache and in between visits I have made corrections for the inaccuracies of Google Earth in the area.
This visit I came prepared with distances and bearings only to find a compass is no good near high voltage power lines.
I made a guess of the GZ and eventually found the cache for the team.
Took Nothing
Left a Koala Key Ring
Thanks four-fun for the cache and the confirmation of the final co-ords many months ago.

Out with Bob from Elsewhere, following behind as he found the caches (how easy is this - apart from the hill-climb)!
Bob projected a waypoint to GZ from a significant landmark and we watched him wander around for awhile, before coming up with the goods.
Took truck. Left car SL. Found an interesting log in the book!
Thanks Four-fun .

Doh!!!!!! Just did the first part of this and found out that GZ is back up next to where we were only a couple of weeks or so ago clearing out a lot of caches up there. Oh well, another hike up the hill again in the future [XX(]
Found with K8eus and MayGrape whilst on an evening of caching adventures, TFTC!
found this one while out on an afternoon stroll with Racing Striples k8eus and Justcameron, TFTC
A great hike to fill the time between family engagements, walk off Christmas lunch and work up an appetite for Christmas dinner. Unfortunately, I didn't have time to do the other nearby caches, so I'll be up that hill another time.
T: glow in the dark star
L: christmas decoration star
This cache was logged by muggles just a week after the last cacher, but our 'secret is safe' with them.

Thought I'd take a long lunch and head up the hill.
This is a great walk in a very scenic area. Saw a large kangaroo near the top, and enjoyed the wonderfull views at GZ. I didn't have time to go on to other nearby caches as I had to get back to work. Saw the same large kangaroo on the way down. He wasn't too timid as he let me get fairly close, so I took a photo with my phone camera. Thanks for a top cache, Four-Fun.

13th of 18 for the day. Started this one last week in fading light, didn't even attempt GZ. This is the first time that I've visited this park. Thanks jointly to Victims of Z, four-fun, Team Piggy, Team Wibble, and Zytheran for the caches in this area. TFTC.
Dont I just hate being beaten by a cache. So I just had to go back for another look,
Four-run if you ever need a new hiding spot up there I can recommend a beaut one that I found, Nice to sit there and sign that log.

Well a sad day for the Parrot.
Climbed to the very top at first to admire the view but it all went downhill from there.
Couldnt find the cache. Called Nibs, called Four-Fun. Tried being as good as Bob butwith the sun getting low in the sky I had to admit defeat. So much effort for a no find.

Aaaagh!! I've walked past this cache before, not realising it was there! Ah well, back again for another visit after collecting the clues. That walk up here is a good heart starter!

Found at 12:30, the last of 4 caches found with Winterdragon this morning. At The Mothership we decided this was not far away and headed off up the hill. After some considerable upward walking we found ourselves still the same distance as when we left the Mothership.
Got to the top, to find myself at a place I'd visited for a nearby cache five years ago. A great walk up. Thank Four-fun.

Found with Scouts_Honour and two new geocachers (and Rovers) on an Aesir Rovers Night Hike around Black Hill. Thanks for the cache - the views were spectacular
Started this ages and ages ago, then realised where it finished. So today was the day to finish this one off....
After about 20mins of searching, the 'sms-an-owner' option was used, only to find I had transposed the numbers on this one also! Bugger.
Thanks for the quick reply Trev, as was about to continue my odyssey. and this would have been my only dnf for the day! 9 months since the previous find too!
TNLNSL
HUGE views here too
Thanks

Nothing unfortunate about this place today.
Dodged the morning showers and walked to the trio here with lovely clear blue sckies.
Popped down to Church afterwards.
Clear skies and thanx Four-Fun, TeamAstro.
What a spectacular view!
Picked this up as we walked to Sugar Loaves. Thoroughly enjoyed the walk in from Montacute - great views all the way.
So glad this wasn't just left in a suburban park.
Thanks Four Fun.

wWe did the first part Saturday and thought we would leave it for another day. Well today the wife wanted to go shopping so son and I thought we would do the rest of this cache. Halve way up the hill it started to rain so we were quite wet when we finally made it to the cache. Lifted the geocoin and got even wetter going down. Good walk for the day and just as well the co-ordinates were correct
Found while introducing some friends to geocaching. We did the first part some time back and got a chance today to combine the find with The Mothership and Sugar Loaves. Interesting cairn near GZ; who put that there?
Stunning view from the top; we sat and ate a banana and logged the cache. Saw the Rhaugh coin but didn't write down the tracking number .
Thanks for the cache four-fun. Great spot to look down over Adelaide and a really nice walk as well.

Hmm this walking is good training for my secret stealth mission planned for midyear and caching is just the way to make it more fun. A few spots of moisture from the sky but no bother really. Nice view. TFTC
The forecast promise of a 22 deg day gave us the incentive to tackle some caches that required walking in some 3+ terrain. Did the easy calculations and headed off into the wild blue yonder. Great walk to get this one, but on the way down, I managed to turn my ankle on the loose rocky road. Did the Kangaview after this and by the time we got home it was really giving me the good news .
We were intrigued by the Aztec geocoin and took it with us to examine closely back at the Bat-Cave .
Placed the Rhuagh Geocoin in the cache. It wants to visit 4+ caches. ( I would have given this another half a star ) Thanks for another great cache four-fun .

We decided to came at this cache from the illogical way.
The summit track!!
Firstly it was a trail we had not been on before.
Secondly it would give us a chance to suss out Ali.
Thirdly it could not be steeper than the Ghost Gums track.
Correct on all three counts. Although it was probably 2km further than we had to really go.
Lovely cache with a fantastic view.

Did the easy bit last night. Found final location at about 9:40pm on a rather dark and hot night after a later than planned start. Any other park and I would have given it a miss but as I know this park better than the back of my hand a moonless night seemed fair game. Every time this hill seems steeper and the way to top longer. Amazing to see the change, even at night, of the last big flood and the current drought. Took a while for my lazy Garmin to get vaguely close, it's getting slacker every week at the moment. Eventually found and left 'Sic'em Rex' to get back to nature with his like and eat the ants nest under the cache. Left star, keyring and took pin. Thanks for the exercise, it was more relaxing than a run.
PS Dear Goggle Earth.. time to get your friggin DTED elevation data sorted out. You jerks have the elevation data 100m+ out of position. Your aerial photo's are cute but jeez, elevation data totally sucks.

Surprised to see this still unfound by Sunday afternoon so we figured we'd go for it. We anticipated that there'd be a reasonable walk involved but we didn't realise it was going to be that much of a walk! Got to GZ and realised we'd been here before - and we knew a shorter, easier way to approach it.
On the upside, we traversed several tracks in this park that we hadn't before, and it was definitely an enjoyable walk.
Very relieved to find we were the FTF on this though. Took the hat (needed it, it was sunny by the time we got there), left a geopatch and two geopins.
