Belmont TS5468
The official name of this Trig Station as per NSW Department of Lands is: Belmont.
Serial number: TS5468.
Last inspected: August 31, 1977.
Elevation: 70 meters.
A simple Drive By Trig Station I located while caching in the area now here for you to enjoy! Situated in a padock just on the side of the road you cant touch it but will be within a few metres when the fence blocks you. The ID Plate on the front listed this as "Belmont" and I looked up the Geoscience Australia site and found this:
Trig is Offical - Reference Number NSW3873
First Spotted and Listed by Zalgariath

A Trig Point is a virtual cache which requires a cacher to locate the Trigonometric Station at GZ.
A trig point (also known as a Trigonometric Station) typically consists of a black disc on top of four metal legs or concrete pillar, resembling a navigation beacon. It is also accompanied by a metal disc, which is located directly below the center point of the tripod or on top of the pillar itself.
Trig points are generally located at the top of hills or points of prominence in the landscape. Many provide unique views and challenges, with some being difficult to get to.
These points were regarded as valuable to surveyors, providing reference points for measuring distance and direction, and assisting in the creation of maps.
To log a find on the Geocaching Australia website, you will need to include a picture of the trig point, along with your GPS receiver and (preferably) yourself. Long distance / telephoto type pictures are against the spirit of this cache. You are encouraged to leave a description of your journey in your log to help others in finding the trig point.
Please respect local laws and regulations when searching for trig points. If you believe that a trig point is located on private property or in a dangerous location, you may archive the cache, by clicking on Log this Cache and place an "Archived" log on the Geocaching Australia website.
If you feel that you can add to the description of this trig point or adjust the difficulty / terrain ratings, please feel free to edit this cache and amend the information suitably. Vandalism of the cache description or other information will result in your account being terminated.

A few hundred meters back down the road is a new TP 'Belmont 2015' which I suspect might replace this one
Outstanding....
A quick drive by grab on a very busy road today.
The trig is called Belmot as it is near 'Belmot House'which was eventually built by Phillip Charnley after he bought the land in 1889. It is now the St John of Gods Hospital and it , and its views are beautiful. i have worked there been there for Hawkesbury Catholic region Fund raises (which sadly they do not hold any more)and also been a patient. They hold a tour historical, once a month on Sundays. Acko
A wonderful traditional trig in full view.
An easy roadside trig.
Beware the heifers, they look placid enough but they may just be lulling you into a false sense of security.
Photos taken, now to go to NorVo! cache nearby.
Nice to occassionally get closer to trigs, but with this one beyond a fence & me being short sighted, I couldn't read the name & had to search hard to find it on the database when I got home.
Grose Vale Road
North Richmond, NSW
I found this one quite near the North Richmond Reservoir Trig, also on Grose Vale Road.
The trig sits somewhat forlornly on its concrete pedestal, just beyond arm's reach behind a barbed wire fence. It has perforated vanes and the plaque is intact.
I know I could have climbed through the barbed wire and really got up close and personal, but others have already taken good photos of this one and I decided to conserve my energy for the many caches I expected to find in the hours ahead, along Bell's Line of Road.
Photos will be uploaded in about an hour . . .
