Found it after a bit of trouble with the equation... doing this on a smartphone was a bit tricky, would have been much easier if we'd printed the page beforehand...
There were a few possible variables with the "the number of small metal plates in the stone in front of Cain" where it should be '...in the STONES in front of Cain...'
and the fact that the equation (one of which was negative numbers) had to be added to the 'header coordinates' (meaning the coordinates for the cache - S 37° 48.797 E 144° 58.492)
After figuring this out and finding the right location of the cache it was pretty easy. After introducing the game to a new friend, who loved it, we had a great time here in Melbourne CBD.
