Logs for trevski65

Well found by my daughter. It couldn't really be anything else - we searched for ages. Quite chuckle-worthy, I thought.

Second time we've looked for this, and still nothing. I'm pretty sure I know where it SHOULD be - but just can't find it!!

Last for the day. This is a great spot looking over the water, to sit and reflect on the sacrifices made by others, that allow us to live the lives that we do. Thanks for bringing me here.

Second for the day. This is a great spot, with lots of nice boats to torment we would-be sailors.
Found the cache but kept quiet, as my wife wanted to find it...but she was beaten by my daughter.
Thanks for a lovely walk with the family along the river.

Parked on the south side of MH Bridge, and walked over.
Was very easy to find - I think an animal has been at it, as part of the wrap was scattered around, and the container was visible. We wrapped it up as best we could, and put it back where we found it - it's not really hidden at the moment if you approach the way we did, but will be when the grass gets growing.
Thanks for bringing me here - I didn't know this corner of the world existed!

Well, this one had me worried. Between ducking showers and muggles for twenty minutes, and my GPS constantly taking me to a point several metres away, I was about to call a DNF when my daughter found it. I must be blind, as I'd already looked there, and completely missed it.

Too tricky for me, I'm afraid. Looked everywhere I could imagine, even where I could reach but not see.....and found zip. Had fun, though!

Easy to spot, very hard to retrieve. I was worried for a while that I was going to give it a swim. All good in the end.
Wife said she wanted to find one, so we played 'hotter colder' until she had it.

This one was good for a chuckle. I spotted it as soon as we arrived at GZ - in fact, it was so easy to spot I'm surprised it hasn't been muggled. I let my wife look for about 5 minutes while I watched the boats go by, then grabbed it when she gave up.
Thanks for giving me an excuse for a good afternoon stroll.

I was worried after my failure at the footbridge nearby, but found this one easily.

Took a bit of searching, but we found it. I suspect there's an unlogged visit here, as there were three people standing near GZ, so we sat on a chair about 20 metres away until they left....all FOUR of them....and loads of fresh footprints at GZ when we got there. As noted before, searchers should replace rocks where they found them, even if the search fails, or this one won't be such fun!!

Did this one after lunch - recommend the grilled sardines!

Spent ages looking, but couldn't find it. After reading the previous logs, perhaps it's not there to be found?

I feel a bit guilty about claiming this as found. My wife and I had just arrived at GZ, when a voice behind us asked "Are you looking for something?" I'm really not sure if I would have found it, either. Quite....ingenious! Signed the log, and carried on to the next, reminiscing about the number of times I've had a quiet cold one at that place.

14-Sep-10
Did this one on my way home, after riding to Port Kennedy. I've riden past this park many times on my morning rides, but never found an excuse to stop. TFTC TNLNSL

Found the cache - but forgot the advice about tweezers and couldn't get the log out!

I learnt a folk song at school about the Catalpa, but thought it was an Eastern States thing, as they usually are. Doing the tourist thing at home led me to this place about a year ago. History happened in our own back yard!!

Where you bin? No, where you wheely bin? Does this make the treasure trash, or is the trash treasure? Not sure...
Found this with Tiny Trev, out for an afternoon ride.

Sorry guys, but bad news.

Dropped by today on the way home from work. Not sure what happenned - either Desmond didn't push the button or the Others found it. Either way, the Swan isn't there any more - at least, it's not where I found it. Or, maybe, Ben moved the Island!!

Cheers,
Trev

Came here after Tern Island. Unfortunately, Dora the Explorer was quite confused, and couldn't decide where GZ was. Then Mother decided it was ice cream time, Tiny Trev agreed, and so I was overruled. I'll have to try again later.

Ha Ha!! Brilliant! We loved this one - only took us three visits. TFTH SL

Well, sort of found it... Da Dah was there when we arrived. You've gotta give it to the tiny people - well spotted by their daughter. Don't know how long that would have taken me... TFTC SL

Out for our Sunday coastal ride, and decided to drop by. Well spotted by Tiny Trev - he wanted to know if this means he's famous, "because that means you're rich!!"

Came back for another look - still did'nt find it. But had a thought on the way home, and think I've cracked it...we'll see...

08-Aug-10
Looked high, looked low, but didn't find it. First time I've looked for a micro, and also, from reading the logs, a well camouflaged hide. Then was interrupted by teen muggles on scooters (this is supposed to be a nature reserve - figures), so gave up the hunt. In the words of Arnie - I'll Be Back!! TFTH - great fun.

01-Aug-10
Thought this would be a good place to begin a family bike ride. Wife and rugrats were annoyed, as I found it before they did - HAH HAH!!

26-Jul-10
That's it - I'm not taking the wife again. I pointed out the area it should be in, and savouring the moment, began a slow approach. She raced over, said "There it is" and grabbed it. So much for enjoying the anticipation. Took a toy car, left a plastic cactus. Thanks for the hunt.

I must have almost stood on this a dozen times the first time I looked - I spent about 15 minutes walking around the area. This time I went to GZ, told my wife it was around there somewhere, looked around and it was about 4 feet away from me. I must have been blind! This is one of my favourite areas, so thanks for the excuse to go there again. TNLNSL.

24-Jul-10
The excitement overwhelms me!! I found it - my second ever!!

Came in from the road with wife & son (Tiny Trev), during a ride around the coast. He loved the tunnel - real pirates-hunting-treasure stuff in his 6yo mind. Then I just..walked right up to it. I stood there by a bush, told them it had to be around here somewhere, then looked down and it was at my feet. I have no idea how I missed this the first time. My only excuse is that it was the first I'd tried to look for, and I had no idea what it would look like.
Tiny Trev took a Ben 10 monster, and left one of his toy dinosaurs. A bit of of rubbish around, so I grabbed as much as I felt I could ride with.

Thanks for the find - this is getting addictive!

Cheers,
Trev

I've lived in Rockingham since 1977. This area was all bush back then. I had no idea these trails were here! On the way back home from our coastal ride to Rockingham, we cut through to Safety Bay from Palm Beach. We took a while to find the path in, but once there it didn't take long for my wife to find it. She thought I was a bit strange when I told her about geocaching - now she thinks it's brilliant, and I probably won't be allowed to go hunting without her! Tiny Trev left the Ben 10 monster he collected from Shag a Seal, and took a Kung Fu Panda bracelet. TFTH.

Newbie cacher - looked for 10 today. This was no. 5 and a DNF. Mind you, I only found 1

Didn't hang around too long, as a lone middle aged bloke on a weird bike (FWD recumbent..I know - not too inconspicuous) in a park full of kids IS a bit...well, as a parent, I wouldn't like it. Even so, I found GZ (according to a later check on Google Map), but...what am I looking for??....?? Think I'll stay away from parks full of wee muggles though, unless I have my own small folk along to help in the chase.

Cheers,
Trev

Newbie cacher - looked for 10 today. This was no. 6 and a DNF. Mind you, I only found 1

Looked up, down, under, and sideways. This was my 5th DNF today. It's fairly obvious I need a change of mindset.

Thanks...for the frustration!! How do I find these things!!

Cheers,
Trev

Newbie cacher - looked for 10 today. This was no. 8 and a DNF. Mind you, I only found 1

I thought I was onto a winner here, with a pun on the description and the type of...natural obstacles I was faced with. Still didn't find it, though. Found a wonderful pile of sticks all pointing in the same direction, a branch over another branch that looked like it had been placed there, symmetrically spaced trees, and heaps of other stuff....but not the cache!! I'm beginning to think I'm broken!!

Cheers,
Trev

My first (and so far only) find - WOO HOO!! Big Grin
Didn't take anything - the finding was excitement enough...

Newbie cacher - looked for 10 today. This was no. 3 and a DNF. Mind you, I only found 1

First one I've tried to find...but I have no idea what I'm doing, what I'm looking for, or how well hidden it will be....hmmm - time to read a few 'getting started' posts on the forum first, methinks....

Newbie cacher - looked for 10 today. This was no. 4 and a DNF. Mind you, I only found 1

Having said that, my GPS (and google maps) puts GZ at the top of a dune. I climbed up once, but freaked out about causing erosion. Best to approach from the back side. Looked at the clue, but still didn't see what I was looking for. I need to learn more about this thing!!
