Welcome to the Gold Coast!
The Gold Coast is Australia's 6th biggest city, with almost 640,000 people calling it home. 10 million tourists visit every year, with just over 800,000 coming from overseas.
Known as a tourist destination, the city boasts plenty of eateries, theme parks, nightlife – and of course the beaches. The latter being the only free activity in the list. But where to go? Which one to visit. There’s a beach for everyone, with different configurations, different facilities close by and different levels of swell. Let this tour help you decide – or just try them all.
All the containers are the same type of hide – once you’ve seen one, you’ll know what you are looking for with the rest. Some of the internal designs are slightly different, I’ve tried a few different designs, and will see how they go. Some were more challenging to ‘install’ than others. Comments about the containers are very welcome in your log.
All the caches are hidden ‘on the beach’, or at very least on the foreshore. They will take you right to the water. Swim between the flags. Some caches are hidden slightly away from where the flags/people usually are, to make the search easier.
Some of the caches will be muggle central though – use your covert caching skills to try and grab them as discreetly as possible, and please let me know if there’s an issue with any of the stashes. The containers are hidden in plain sight, and the average muggle should be none the wiser if they see them. Most of them have a clue attached, jot them down and you will be able to reveal the coordinates to a Challenge Cache - a nice big container hidden in a quiet spot.
This series could take a bit of time to complete. It’s easy to get distracted when you’re visiting all these beaches. They’re just too good not to take a quick swim. I got very side tracked placing them all.
