Description
Way back in July 2001 we placed our first cache, it was called Shipwreck Island and we were proud of it! It managed to get about a dozen visitors before it disappeared - we're not sure how, but it did get a couple of visits from non-cachers according to the log book, so we are guessing it got another one from someone that wasn't as friendly as the first two. You can read it's history at http://geocaching.com.au/cache/ga0028.
This is a lovely walk so we felt we should place another cache here, so here it is. You will need to walk at least 1.4 kilometres to the cache from the nearest vehicle access point, so allow a good hour for the return trip - more if you take geokids!
Original contents include - Hummer toy car, calculator, mini screwdriver set, a super bouncy ball, set of 3 carabineers, 2 glow sticks, a DVD full of maps called "Don't Get Lost Vol. 4", a log book/pen & pencil and "Gramps" the farting Travel Bug.
Additional notes - As mentioned in the original cache description the hiding spot for this cache has "opening times" and in a way this is true. These times are generally 9:00 am til sunset, that is if you try to access it via the car park!
The title of this cache indicates it's on an island, it's a small island and access via the waterways is available 24 hours a day - so if you have a boat and a torch, go for it :o)
If you venture via the car park you may also be asked to make a gold coin donation for entry to the area, a small price to pay for such a nice walk.
This area is very popular and at times can be heavily populated, please have a good look out before you remove the cache from it's hiding place, and be sure to place it back as you found it. It can be seen if you walk past it at the correct angle - I'm just hoping non-cachers don't see it.

Thanks to Waterwells. Who, after an early morning jaunt out to the island, tell me all is well with the cache
