Description

My first GCA cache. A nice drive to a popular lookout with lots of amenities.

This Scenic Reserve has enough for you to fill in an afternoon if you so desire. There is an info bay just before you turn to go to the summit. Check out all the sights in the arboretum too.

Its off the main highway a little.
2wd's can get to the top if it is not too wet. I did.

There is a tall viewing tower and lots of tracks to wander off and explore for hours with views galore. Take a picnic & make the most of it. If you have geokids they might need a GPS to return to the car.

The cache is a 1l sistema box a little away from the main area & prying eyes. It is in a gap under a rock and hidden behind a mossy rock. Not intended to be hard to find, but still not to be accidentally found either.

There is a very flashy yo-yo for the FTF with geokids and a few good swaps as well.

Enjoy.

Found It!
A nice little walk here and a quick find once I got to GZ. Great views! The container is a bit old and broken but the logbook seems to be ok.

Thanks for the hide!!.. cache container is abit beat up, but still looks to be waterproof under it's ledge. Thanks roostaman for the location!

what an amazing lookout area. so glad there's a cache up here too. unfortunately the container is in need of a little maintenance. Looks like something has been having a nibble at it, aaaannnd butterfingers here may have dropped it and did some damage to the very brittle container. I'm sorry.

With a day off in hand plus many unfound caches still on the radar to find, I headed out to add a few more Smile to my name. I decided that I would attack the caches in or near the Galore Hill area. This ended up being a great choice because this is the type of caching I enjoy. This includes: bush walking/hiking, great views and common ‘but’ different hides. After this, I headed into Lockhart for some lunch and to avenge a few past DNF’s. I ended up with 18 finds which is made up with 14 GC and 4 GCA caches. Most caches were quick finds and there were many enjoyable types of hides which made for a great day out. TB visit on all caches. I would like to thank all CO’s for the caches I found and for allowing them to bring me and the rest of the caching community much joy. Big Grin TFTC’s Big Grin

Checked and it's definitely still safely hiding in place. Very Happy
And it still has the original log book from 2005. Wink

I will try to get there soon, if anyone else gets there first,
feel free to drop in a new container if it's definitely gone.

This one was a little bit trickier than expected and went past it initially but on the return found it without too much trouble.

Thanks Roostaman for another great cache.

Lucky I'm on holidays and had plenty of time Smile Took a while but loved the alternative views from the usual tower visit so all's well. Thanks for the challenge..

When I came up here for the GC cache I was surprised at the hill and today it was another chance to marvel at the outlook over the very flat surrounds. Thanks. Albida.

2nd half of the Galore 2-for-1 deal. This one took a little bit longer, but soon enough I spied a likely hidey hole. After the hide, I headed up the lookout tower to grab a few photos.
Cheers, Murf.

Our 6th cache heading from home base in the Goulburn Valley to Narrandera in the Riverina for the 'Something to Do on the Long Weekend' cache expedition! Our first GCA cache for the day as well. We were a little worried that the cache may not be active or be difficult to find as the last log was back in December 2005. A great and peaceful drive through the reserve and up to the lookout. No one else around today and we had the area to ourselves. I always find it interesting how the flora changes quite suddenly in these areas as you head higher. This was our first more challenging terrain in the new GeoMazda and it handled it well. Approaching the top our worries about finding the cache were exacerbated as there is a small area at the top that appears to have been on fire at some stage. However, we were treated to great views from GZ and the cache was found quite easily and remains in good nick. Thanks again Roostaman. Cheers.

Roostaman, love your work! This was a really enjoyable cache, even if we did circumnavigate the park before finding the road in! The Prez took some time to climb the viewing platform and couldn't get over the difference in the landscape from east to west. Took giant clip left magnet.

Found by Mary & David at 0830. Another great area that caching has shown us. Beautiful views and the country looked wonderful after all the rain on Monday. Took Buddha, left giant clip and a spanner. Anyone interested in native plants should detour along Curly Heckendorf Drive to the Grevillea garden Most of them are in flower at present and look breathtaking. Many thanks to Roostaman for so many wonderful caches over the past four days.
