Melbourne's Official Battlecache
Welcome to the "Melbourne's Official Battlecache". Just like the board game ("Battleships") you guess a square that contains a ship take a shot by hiding the cache in this square then you are told if you got a hit or a miss. Once all ships are sunk the Game is over and the player who has most hits is awarded the win. The winner can proved Leja1965 with the start position of the next game.
How to play
Move the cache from one square to another square. Report the new cache location via Geocaching.com.au and Leja1965 will make a log of hit/miss or miss fire. Then someone else will move the cache to a new location. A square is represented by the grid below Each square is 2 minutes wide and high starting at S 37° 30 E 144° 44
The Battlecache has one new rule. The concept of a mine. One Square will be a mine if the player places the cache in this square the mine explodes and the player is hospitalised for the next 5 moves.
Example:
Current Game
Bearer of seal envelop containing a copy if the ship positions is Sacada. He can play as long as envelop is not opened.

The Rules
- Play fair and ethically
- The cache is to be hidden within normal requirements for hiding a cache.
- The cache should be retrieved, hidden and logged within 24 hours if possible.
- A player can not take two shots. The player must wait for another player to move the cache
- The cache cannot be moved to a new square until the result of the shot has been added to the Log by Leja1965
- Leja1965 decision is final. :-)
- Players can have multiple finds on this cache as the cache does move around.
- Another person will be given a seal envelop with the Ships positions to verify at end of game that Leja1965 has not been cheating.
- A miss fire is reported when Leja1965 believes the rules have been broken and no hit or miss will be given. The result will be Miss Fire with the reason why.
- Optional Rule After Retrieving the cache if you wish to make life easy for other cacher attach one of the paper tags found inside the cache to nearby tree. This will hopfully let other caches not waste time finding a moved cache.
The Cache container is meant to represent a Sub. Please feel free to add to it. Send me pics and I will add somehow.

According to Wikipedia...
Whiteman Park is a 4,000-hectare (9,900-acre; 15 sq mi) bushland area located 22 km (14 mi) north of Perth, Western Australia. The park is in the suburb of Whiteman, in the Swan Valley in the upper reaches of the Swan River. It encompasses the source of Bennett Brook - an important nyoongar location, and source of mythology of the Wagyl and stories about aboriginal occupancy of the area. Whiteman Park is known for its biodiversity, including over 450 endemic plants and more than 120 vertebrate animals (some of which are rare and endangered). Over 17% of Western Australian bird species occur in Whiteman Park, including migratory birds attracted to the habitat provided by Bennett Brook and associated wetlands including Grogan's Swamp, a Conservation Category Wetland. The state government purchased the land from a variety of private owners in 1978, to protect the underlying aquifer as a drinking water source for Perth. The major owner was Lew Whiteman (1903–1994), after whom the park is named.
Whiteman Park includes bushwalking trails, bike paths, sports facilities and playgrounds. The park is also host to heritage transport groups and their collections: The Perth Electric Tramway Society runs a 4 kilometres (2.5 mi) electric tram journey around the park, running a tram that used to be in service on the Fremantle network. Caversham Wildlife Park; Bennett Brook Railway; The Tractor Museum of Western Australia; The Western Australian Motor Museum; Bus Preservation Society of Western Australia; and Revolutions Transport Museum.
Well, he's done it again. It's now sitting on my office floor along with a few other moveables but is heading to a new home in a few days.
Thanks again, Leja1965, for another smilie.
A cacher from down south dropped into my office a couple of weeks ago and left a bag of GCA moveable caches tucked in the corner. It wasn't until I today that I remembered the bag and decided I should do something about it.
It seems this is now just a standard moveable cache so there is no need for it to rush back to the game area.
Thanks, Leja1965, for this moveable cache.
leave it on the table for next finder.
thanks
Many thanks to caughtatwork for bringing this on along.
Pathtags, Geocoins, Moveable Caches, Travelbugs Swap Meet.
Please don't go searching for it before the event as it won't be at these co-ordinates.
These caches will all be heading to the Pathtags, Geocoins, Moveable Caches, Travelbugs Swap Meet next weekend, so if you're interested in movable caches, come along and log a few which you may not have seen before.
I have found and moved this one before so decided to leave it in its good little hiding spot.
Thanks leja1965 for the cache.
Thanks leja1965 for the cache. I would have liked to play but this is still a very nice cache.

Let's move it a little south and try our luck

I left the cache in situ for wiser heads who follow to relocate.
TNLNSL. Thanks leja1965.
After a bit of a jaunt through country Victoria this cache is making its way slowly back to where it needs to be to continue the game.
Thanks leja1965
play battleships properly tftc
A shame owner not responding, would be an interesting game, anyway we'll just treat it like a regular moveable.
Good luck
Without cache page updates I'll never know if it was a hit but moveable caches are always fun anyway
According to the profile pages leja1965 hasn't been on GCA since June 2008 and GC since 31 Mar 2011!
Now to find a new grid square to hide it in.
Has it just become a movable?
Parking is easy, but parking meters are in use at this spot, but you might be OK if you watch for them or have someone at the car. Dont blame me if you get a ticket!
There are plenty of other caches in the area, including a Trig point and a 'wherigo' that starts only meters away. So bring your bike and have some fun (maybe next week if the rain stops)!
An easy find this time as a glance at the clue helped, I was looking far to hard for it earlier. I will move it off today as we are heading to northern suburbs for a 40th wedding anniversary.
Will try again shortly.
Good luck with the game.
Wasn't sure where I was going to hide it, but here it is.
Nearby another GCA cache - 12o'clock Shaddow
I think the clue was a bit deceiving.
I'm going to blame the bf! I think he didn't look here properly the first time just coz he wanted to go home 'o)
I thought after being cooped up all weekend doing my homework, I would treat myself to finding a geocache. I FINALLY finished Sunday arvo and somehow convinced the bf to drive us to this position after visiting The Gate.
Looked for a while, was getting darker, and colder and the bf was getting restless so I decided to give up.. *sigh*
The only cache I attempted and I couldn't find it boo hoo...
(I think I need to practise finding a bit more lol)
