Description

A series of caches to allow city workers to find a cache a day and help a working week go by while enjoying their lunch at a pleasant venue.

Starting with "Happy (for retirees) Monday", the first four caches are camouflaged minis containing an emergency pencil, a log paper, stash note and the waypoints to the next day's cache.

For each day the log paper must be signed and a note posted here before a find can be claimed when all caches have been found.

The co-ords will eventually lead you to "TGIF" which is a small cammo container and in it at time of placing were: log book, pencil, mini pack of cards, mini friction car, mini set of dice and a stretchy snake (all items which will hopefully help Friday afternoon pass a bit more quickly! Please try and keep swaps in theme.)

HINT:There is no need to step into the garden for any of these caches. In fact, there is no garden at "Happy Monday" but if you find it you'll be freewheelin' from there on!

NOTE:Have just re-edited this in the hope of explaining it clearly. Any problems? Don't hesitate to ask (or complain!) NOTE:This cache has been offline for some months but all caches have now been re-hidden and hopefully will last a while!

Logs

05-Jul-07
Monday is missing. Will replace soon.

15-Jun-07
The cache is now back on line.

Have checked Wednesday and it is in its correct place, safe and sound. It can be easily removed therefore be cautious of something that resembles the cache container but cannot be removed!

Checked Tuesday and it was uncovered but intact so I replaced it and kicked the two needle exchange fixes nearby under the nearby ground-cover. There is no need to look in any vegetation in order to find the cache.

Thursday had been rescued by sog n paulus when they found it uncovered. It has now been rehidden and hopefully will remain in place for a while.

Good luck from el golco.

21-May-07
Finally found Tuesday, on a Monday and well over 12 months since we found Monday. The hint that said don't walk on the garden threw this team, especially as the gps was struggling with the tree cover. Well that's our excuse for caching without our thinking hats on. Visited Wednesday on Tuesday, found what we think was the cache but couldn't retrieve it, so left it for another time.

Cheers Quilter

26-Mar-07
Finally found Tuesday with the help of the hint thanks El golco and continued onto Wed. At the location of Thursday the cache was just inside the area (from the street) out in the open! As we didn't know the correct location we thought it best to take it with us. Will email. We went on to find Friday. Thanks for a great series El golco.

Found what we're pretty sure was the right spot, but no luck finding the hide. We'll try again another day.

Tuesday's done... on to Wednesday

23-Feb-07
Finally checked "Tuesday" and it is still in place. Here is a hint, given that GPSr somewhat erratic:Look for white post with "natural" rock formation nearby.

One down, four to go. As you suggested, this made for a nice walk at lunch - although it was a bit of a challenge being discrete about the search during the middle of the day. We'll aim to have Tuesday done by Tuesday.

09-Jan-07
Over 12 months ago we found Monday. Returned today to collect the info for Tuesday.

Terrible reception. GZ moving allover the show. Searched lots of gardens but no luck Sad We will have to come back another Tuesday.

Cheers Quilter

12-Dec-06
Yes! It actually seems more like Work-a-day-YEAR it has taken me so long to complete! Went for a walk after tea and finished it off! Thanks el golco: very good series, nicely placed and camouflaged! Loved Wednesday the most (as did puppy). Took dinosaur stamp, left cat and mouse puzzle which is almost the exact same size as the top of the container, which after I'd pushed it in realised I couldn't actually get it out (or any of the other contents underneath...). Was able to bang it out eventually, then found it squeezed in sideways and should be able to be pulled out easily. Had another puzzle which was even larger, and really wanted one of them to fit in... thanks for the series.

25-Oct-06
Found Sir Thursday, no problems. Good series, el golco, thankyou.

22-Oct-06
I'm feeling like I have centre stage on this one, (a series of Dippy notes). Found Drowned Wednesday - lovely and interesting park. A little confused about the "no dogs" sign immediately followed by the "Clean up after your dog" poo bags.

19-Oct-06
Had to go back to Grim Tuesday as I'd lost the coordinates for Drowned Wednesday. So I've re-found this one, and now ready for more!!!

14-Oct-06
Also found Grim Tuesday some time ago (on a different day) but unable to write note until now, now that the cache is back on line. Had to have two goes at this one because first time there was a man sleeping right near GZ and I didn't want to wake him...

14-Oct-06
Found Mister Monday after several attempts and then questioning of el golco. GPS was sending me in a different direction and I hadn't made my search area wide or cunning enough. Very clever, el golco.

14-May-06
It took some time to wade through Mother's Day muggles, but we got Monday on a Sunday. We are stuck at Tuesday though. Will try again later.

01-Apr-06
on hols from NSW country finally got wp1 after second try in daylight tried wpII not a clue had me completely stumped went back to wpII to see if i put in correct coords still no go . oh well must leave to head north BOO HOO

10-Mar-06
Have tried to visit this one for several days, but the whole are has been cordoned off and a cleaning crew has been hosing and scrubbing everything.

03-Mar-06
NO WAY could Friday have been in this spot when we visited before! This is exactly where the GPSr had said to go, and we searched this area and know it in intimate detail! Well, at least we found Friday on a Friday!

26-Feb-06
Well, those of us who don't work close enough to the city to cache in our lunch hours have to make alternative plans . . . so Sunday found us doing this one. Had looked for Monday before, amidst muggles and to no avail, and so were pleased to locate it quickly this time! On to Tuesday, and spent hours looking for it - obviously karma for searching for it on the non-appointed day!!! Found Wed quickly and Thurs a bit more slowly - locating 3 not-caches before the cache itself!!! A side hunt for something else at Thurs was unsuccesful and placed us at Friday in the dark - but this was probably a good time to do it! Our frog toys for Friday entertainment were all to large to fit, so left a little magnetic frog - you could play 'hunt the frog' around the office to make time pass more quickly!! Thanks for this one el golco.

23-Feb-06
Found 'Friday' (on a Wednesday...). Coords took me straight to it! Swapped a pair of non-functional miniature scissors for the golf ball. Maybe not a fair swap, but I couldn't stuff the golf ball back in.

13-Feb-06
GGGGrrrrrhhhhhhhh!!!!!!

23-Jan-06
Hooray. Finally Sirius took fresh eyes with Tim The Enchanter......... and what do they spy? Monday done. (on a Monday that must be the trick)

Cheers Quilter

14-Jan-06
Friday in place all along. All systems go!

13-Jan-06
Grrrrhhhh!!! I would try for Friday on Friday the 13th, wouldn't I!! However this does have the distinction of being the first cache where Snuva has been approached by security whilst looking for it. My slaves' blue shirts could be seen from a distance apparently, so someone thought the police might be looking for something and need assistance or something. Security guard retreated with a rather baffled expression on his face after we explained what we were doing, and though we hunted on in the fading light it's still a DNF.

13-Jan-06
Thursday now replaced but some doubt about Friday so will check it as soon as possible!

12-Jan-06
Logging Thursday on a Thursday (although that isn't necessarily when the slaves found it. . .)

Found quite easily, although the keys to the cacheMobile that were dropped in nearby vegetation (by a slave of course) weren't as easy to find! Onwards. . .

11-Jan-06
Logging Wednesday on a Wednesday (athough that's not necessarily the day my slaves found it).

First time the female slave visited a dog and his slave were playing hide and seek a bit too close to GZ, so couldn't play hide & seek with el golco. Returned later with male and scored the find. We'll have to hold off on Thursday for el golco to do some maintenance, however it should be well worth the wait! We're enjoying the series (now that we've gotten started!).

11-Jan-06
Sorry to say that Thursday has been muggled but will be replaced (with new co-ords) as soon as possible. el golco

10-Jan-06
Logging Tuesday on a Tuesday(athough that's not necessarily the day my slaves found it). Arrow was pointing straight for a muggle picnic, however the HandsomeMan found it anyway!

Should we hold off on Wednesday in case Thursday's coordinates need updating????

09-Jan-06
Aaaaahhhh. . .at least there is some compensation for the Taste being closed and my slaves being back at work; we can get to work serious on this one now! Logging Monday on a Monday (athough that's not necessarily the day my slaves found it). This waypoint has been our nemesis! Each time were near here there will be thousands of muggles, people working in the area watching, bridges swinging, etc. And I KNOW I've looked where it was found before! Watch out though - there was a big cruise ship pointing right at it Smile

08-Jan-06
Had a report that this may have been muggled so checked it today at about 2pm. It was still there but had been replaced very sneakily and would have been very difficult to find. Have now re-hidden it in original manner (still sneaky but not impossible) ready for tomorrow ie Monday!

08-Jan-06
DNF Monday. Is this because we were looking on Sunday? We looked, and looked, and admired and sat and looked. Maybe with all the recent muggle activities Monday has gone?

02-Jan-06
Truthfully, I spied this cache on the Friday of the week I started looking, however there were too many muggles around for me to remove it and I was keen to go to the pub for lunch so I left it until now.
Easily logged today - TNLNSL.
Thanks el golco, that was a good series (and great cammo)

26-Dec-05
Tried for Monday, but security muggle wanted to talk. Managed to evade him, saw him chatting to someone else. Looks like this one will be difficult to nab over the next week or so Sad

Cheers Quilter

08-Dec-05
Had some idle time in the city, logged Monday between sprinkles. Love the idea. Will carry on with the series.

03-Dec-05
Raining, raining, raining. But I went after the event with the female slave as all the muggles should be curled up, warm and dry, in their little muggle houses (you know the ones - where they put FOOD into sistemas and don't regularly spraypaint plastic). In any case, I figure the rain was keeping me off the scent. I looked, and looked, and looked. . .

03-Dec-05
Found after picking up R from swimming.
Took off towards where I was the other day and found it in about 3 minutes. I found it really hard trying to juggle the cache container, the contents, the log, pencil and the umbrella all at once, but I managed.
TNLNSL
Thanks el golco - a brilliant series.

02-Dec-05
Well, I had to call a helpline to get me started as I had 2 of the Tassie Contingent with me on this one and just after 10pm found Monday.
Took off to Tuesday but lack of light drew a blank on finding that one.
Took Tan and Buzz off to find a CP and a Snuva cache. Had the morning off so found Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, but alas, although I got to within 5m of Friday, I decided that I maybe should come back later. Had a quick look to try and locate for easier retrieval but couldn't see it.
I'll be back.

01-Dec-05
Tried again yesterday. Female slave was trying to be discreet, but only managed to come up empty-handed. Plus the added paranoia as she had recommended to the cache owner a civilised viewing spot (and before you laugh, remember how often your logs used to mention being wary of white vans?!).

29-Nov-05
Finished it off today - and I wish it were Friday! Nice spot to finish. TNLN, signed log. Got interrupted by Muggles while replacing cache. I hope its "hidden" enough.

29-Nov-05
TOUCHE CAXIXI!!!

29-Nov-05
Some of us don't have a long enough lunch break to make it into the city for a walk, so last night I did a mad rush around town and can tick off Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Great little cache containers, where (or who) did you get that idea from, el golco?!?!?

25-Nov-05
Found this cache in my previous incarnation as a Cheesy Pig.

25-Nov-05
Well, Friday has arrived and the Cheesy Pigs are happy to be logging the find. The first one. An excellent series El Golco with very good hides. Took cards and left a golf ball for the weekend (besides, who has time for golf now that there are caches out there):)

24-Nov-05
This, THURSDAY, should have finally been the day we got Monday out of the way! The female slave and my Handsome Man decided to have a beverage or two after work at a drinking establishment within site of GZ for Monday. It was all extremely civilised, and the plan was hen the coast was clear, the female slave would pounce.

However, the coast was never clear! All these leavers dinners in town, so there was a constant stream of parents and leavers practically taking photos on top of GZ. As if they have any claim to being allowed there! And othe muggles kept pawsing - the female slave kept creaping up in case it was other cachers she could catch in the act. . .but alas no! So the slaves left the area empty handed yet again. Grrh!

24-Nov-05
Count this as yesterday and todays find.
I wish the places were empty when I go there at lunchtime. There were two women basically sitting on the cache when I casually sauntered through today who I don't think would have liked if I'd have pushed them our of the way to retrieve it.

24-Nov-05
el golco quite understands that there are many cachers unable to do this one exactly by the rules and would be very happy with your suggestion 'gizer Very Happy
It's really all about taking people to nice places and if that's able to be done in their lunch hour then so much the better! Enjoy Smile

24-Nov-05
just a question? is this a Hobart resident cache only? as Hobart is a little too far away from Ulverstone for lunchtime caching outings, & the likelyhood of me being in Hobart for an entire week is unlikely, I can't see me ever being able to log this cache. Or can it all be completed in one day, with notes placed accordingly as requested for the next week Wink

24-Nov-05
Thursdays child says "not far to go now" a nice little area I did not know existed. Piglet played on the sculpture while I noted the cache.

One thing I have noticed is that these last two seem to be unknown to everyone, I have had them both to myself. Thanks El Golco

23-Nov-05
Nope no woe here, an area I have visited before, but under less happy circumstances. Ta El Golco, stay tuned.

22-Nov-05
Obviously Mr Pig and the fast pizza-with-the-lot don't have meetings to attend. . .grumble, grumble. This should have been the perfect cache for us, but it's an evil week! And Wednesday the female slave will be in Campbell Town all day.

22-Nov-05
2nd again! Nabbed it almost straight away, although did pass through the area on my way to work today for a bit of recon. Crafty little hide - on to tomorrow.

22-Nov-05
Well Tuesday's child did not look particularly graceful stumbling round todays hide.

Had to resort to the usual tactic of "Sod this I'm getting wet", at which point the cache waves it's arms and says "here I am".

Brilliant hide El Golco, waiting tomorrows headlines.

21-Nov-05
[It's Friday and I just realised the slaves haven't been putting any notes here! How slack! Poor el golco - she'll think I don't care rather than realise the slaves are just evil and not being helpful to me!]

Slaves arrived at GZ and as they were starting to look the female slave checked out who might be watching. . .and realised in an office quite close by someone was already pointing at them and talking to someone else. We could almost hear them 'And earlier there were these Pigs and this big, fast, pizza with the works hanging out in the same area?!' So they abandoned the hunt for then, hoping to return when no muggles were watching (and when the female slave wasn't wearing a bright read shirt perhaps?).

21-Nov-05
A block from work - how could I not sneak away and be the first one to nab this point. A couple of tourists round, I'm subtle, no worries. Not so - CP picks me out straight away and gets the cache before me. I have much to learn!

21-Nov-05
Now being on holidays might mean that Monday to Friday does not have the same effect on me, but as a shift worker it did not any way.

Whilst at this location I managed to meet another cacher who it seemed had snuck away to do a quick Recce. A good idea El Golco, I'm interested to see where the journey leads. Smile
