Description
A great spot for a dip, bring a picnic lunch and stay a while!
From Mullumbimby take Wilsons Creek Rd, Huonbrook Rd, then Wanganui Rd. Combines well with Boogarem.
Park under the trees on the left before the causeway and take the path through to the creek. Skinny dipping is the norm here (and you don't have to put your clothes back on to get the cache). Good opportunity to Nude Up for a Smiley!
Satellite reception was poor when the cache was placed, but coordinates have been updated and should be pretty accurate.
Head down stream and look for the obvious place on the lefthand side, before you get to the causeway. Check the hint if you get stuck!

I decided it was about time that I had a look for this cache. It's my closest unfound GCA cache to home - only 14km away. I've been to this little part of the creek a few years ago, but didn't realise that this is where the cache was hidden, so I didn't search for it then. Once I arrived at GZ, I went down to the creek and the GPS was pointing me to an obvious spot, that matched the hint. I searched for a while but came up trumps. I wasn't really expecting to find the cache, it would have had to been pretty high up to survive that flood a few years ago. But I wasn't going to rule it out. I had a breather and wandered through the creek for a while. The water was a beautiful temperature today. I expanded my search radius, but still nothing.
I did contemplate Nuding up for a Smiley, but I found a snake curled up near GZ and thought one exposed python was enough . Was a lot of fun wading through the creek though. It really is a cache worthy spot. A great little after work adventure! Thanks Zactyl!

Took Little Miss zactyl to a birthday party just down the road, so we came and checked out the cache afterwards. The man who built the Birthday Boy's house was drowned in the "Mother's Day Flood" of 11 May 1987 and the body was recovered at the causeway near the cache. His daughter had a considerable amount of jewelery washed away, including diamonds, so keep your eyes open!
Found at 11:52 after a trip to Byron. I had some spare time so decided to give this another go. After 2 days of light rain, it made things at GZ very interesting. Among the leeches, mozzies and flies you could put a saddle on, everything is wet and slippery. This just added the the challenge. After surveying the area I decided on the likely site, and with the help of a small hint from zactyl , I soon had the cache in hand. Cache is in excelent condition. Nice and dry inside.
Took Police Car
Left Mini Mong 5 and some dinosaurs to guard the cache.

Well this was a bad start to the day. We spent about 1/2 hr looking for this cache with no luck. Looks like this cache has been washed away in the recent floods. There is plenty of evidence of major flooding in this area recently. Trees and bushes have been flattened, vegetation stripped bare off the ground. Standing on the weir, there is vegetation stuck in in the trees well above my head height!!
But today it was a beautiful calm spot. A bit too cool in the water for skinny dipping though! ;-D

Nicely hidden cache in a beautiful spot. Came by with zactyl on the way to try find a path up to the Blackbutt Plateau but the only access not through private property looked a bit steep! Found this cache without too much trouble in a good hiding spot. Creek would be lovely for a swim.
Thanks for the cache!
