Description

Small pill bottle log only

This Cache is about chest height at the above co-ords. Since I weas called out with the Salvos again to feed hungry fire fighters again This was a good location for a cache. The theme for this cache is to remember the volunteers and workers of emergency services who die on the job about 2 to 3km from this cache a brave young fire bomber pilot lost his life when his aircraft crashed into trees.I hope when you look for this cache remember all the volunteers from all services that have perished while helping their cobbers as this is what made our great nation what it is and next time you see a volunteer let them know you are gratefull for their work they need it. With a well-deserved day off from work in hand, I decided to go Geocaching. Smile I also decided on the caching trail between Coota and Wagga. This ended up with a 350km round trip which includes a little bit of driving around in wagga for lunch and shopping. Originally between Coota and Nangus (the first little town you come to along this trail), there was only three caches that I hadn’t found until yesterday when two new caches popped up in Coota, which added to the excitement and I also had a bonus FTF on the first cache I found today (GA11467). Smile Unless stated otherwise, all caches were found quickly and were in good condition. On some of the smaller log books/paper I signed as 17/4 JM. I would like to thank all CO’s of the caches I found and for the fun I had today. Smile

My 4th find of the day. After about 5mins of looking I made the find. TFTC

Edited 19/04/18: I only just read the reason you placed this cache. I never knew about 'the volunteers and workers of emergency services who die on the job about 2 to 3km from this cache a brave young fire bomber pilot lost his life when his aircraft crashed into trees.' Thanks for the history lesson.

#GA2097 - 13:45; Out on a day run with Sol de lune to Cootamundra and back to collect a few more in the 'Bushranger' series, a couple of trigs plus some others. After stops near Binalong, Galong, Harden, Wombat and then on to Cootamundra, where we had a lunch stop, it was off to Mt Slippery toi walk off the calories then on to this cache as we made our way back towards the highway. We were a little worried to see what looked like a very new fence when we arrived near GZ, but as per the previous logs, all was found safe and well along the property line and we were able to sign the log. With the cache replaced in its new location, we retraced our route before hitting the bitumen and on towards Coolac. TFTC Rescue-201 Very HappyClan Cerberus

Out with LuckyL10n on a day trip and we decided to head over to the Hume via this cache. Arrived at GZ and found the cache as noted by the previous finders. Made our marks in the new log and then headed back out the way we came out to the freeway.

Thanks for the cache....

After reading previous logs, we really weren't sure where this one ought to be. I couldn't find it anywhere, but Black Bunny eventually dug it out, after illegally crossing the fence line and entering the private poroperty.

We happened to have a spare cache container, so we replaced the container and the destroyed log paper. We placed the cache on the property line, so it can be found WITHOUT going into the paddock.

You are now looking for a film canister at ground level. I hope you don't mind, Rescue-201.

After some head scratching we soon spotted the old cache hide and made the find. We replaced the cacahe as it had suffered some damage and placed it at the base of the staining pole.

Thanks for the cacge Rescue-201.

With a wet day at work, that only means one thing. A trip down the Hume for some caches.
This one was next on the radar, so thought I would take a look. A nice steady trip along the back roads in the wet and I finally made it to GZ. My first thoughts were that it was gone after removing......bone......rock.....and another rock which revealed nothing. After getting over that initial sinking feeling, I did the reach of faith into the bowels of GZ and unearthed a pill container. The lid has vanished and lots of cockroaches have taken up residence. But the log was still intact and I left my mark. So nice to grab one that hasn't been found for so long.

The road was quite wet so I had to take it carefully. Once at GZ the cache was found quickly. The lid is deterioration, but that did not stop me from signing the log. Thanks.

A great little drive away from the main roads.
Stopping the geomobile a few metres away from the cache I was surrounded by the peace and quiet of the area. Only an occasional moo or the wind rustling the grass broke the silence.
TFTC and thanks to all the emergency service personell out there.

Last one today after a trip north. After many other drive-by's I was expecting a little more challenge this time. However, the rain & mud made it a definite drive-by in the trusty 4x4. Straight up to it, in & out & off again.
Thanks for the day outing resQ,
Roostaman
