Description
Cubby cache is a great little hidy hole any self respecting troglodyte would be proud of. It has nice views, garden full of natives, and power close by. The cache can be accessed by a fire trail off the great western highway, it is just a short walk from the head of the track to the cache.
Logs
MrT did a bike ride for today's exercise. Rode from home and got to about 15m from GZ then walked to it. No problem locating the cache. Signed log and returned as found. TFTC
#GA2479 - 15:20; Day one of a caching mission in the Blue Mountains with Sol de lune. After an early start in Canberra, we collected a few of the newer caches along the highway before we reached the foot of the mountains and started the major part of the mission, to collect GCA caches to help us meet some dragonZone trophy requirements. We had enjoyed a great start having picked up a few caches already, including the 10K series, as we were now headed up the hills. Found the entry point and then headed in for the cache. We looked up and down and in and around before the cache was spotted and we got our names into the log. It was getting quite hot by now and I was happy when we found a much shorter route back to the geomobile, even if we did have to slip past a gate to do it! TFTC hardtail

Up from Canberra for a couple of days with LuckyL10n, and after grabbing GA 10000 we were on a bit of a mission to grab a small number of caches. Having been here on a number of occasions, we decided this time it was time to go for a few more walks to grab those ones we've always 'left for next time'. Well, today it was next time.
Took the required walk, found the cache, signed the log and headed back to the car (and the air conditioning) and then it was off to the net one.
Thanks Hardtail....a quality over quantity couple of days.

I'd had this on my to do list for the Summer Scavenge Series and today was the day. Hot! Hotter!! Luckily it was still morning or it would have been Hottest!!! I found the fire trail near the big stanchion and had no trouble getting near GZ. After some looking around, the likely cubby was found, then the cache. Thanks for this Hardtail.
A second seek with the Garmin, and the Android, both indicating different directions neither of which were helpful ... at the giving up, again, stage I found myself at the cavity checked 2.25 years ago ... this time I stuck the head inside and looked where not looked before. Well, there it is! TFTC

Found with phlphotos. I wasn't game to go in there last time as it was the height of snake season, but this time I had no fear. Seems there was nothing to fear, as you don't have to actually go IN. TFTC

found with alnic39 while caching around Warrimoo. Got to GZ and Al goes I think it's in the cubby so in he goes and finds it straight away. Completed signing duties and replaced where found. Lot of stuff in there at present

Thought I'd come and investigate after last log. Found cubby enventually and the flashlight came in handy on my phone. TFTC.
Looked deep into the 'holes', and surprisingly, for me, even squirrelled into one, for what was only a broken piece of glass. A DNF, but on a beautifully sunny last day of Autumn, so not to mind. TFTC ... for another day.

We found it! This was our FIRST cache ever, we were so excited! Didn't leave anything because we weren't organised enough, but put everything back after marvelling at how long some of it has been there!
This was a really good hiding place, well done!

Toriaz offered to take me into the bush and show me a hubby hole, or that's what I thought she said. So we trounced off a short way and we got to this place and I started rooting around and she said, "No, that hole there!"
"That hole?" I said. Just the look of it made me feel inadequate. And then I realised ... Cubby Hole!!!
"Cubby Cache," Toriaz corrected brusquely. "Now get in there and get it." I got in there and I got it. Thanks

Very nice little hiding spot - didn't quite have the courage to go in myself so I got my 50 year old dad to do it instead... Something seems to be the wrong way round here... Anyway! Thanks for the cache - took us a while to find the location and entrance but finally we did! Thanks for the cache!

We've been intending to find this one for ages, but things keep getting in our way, like torrential downpours just as we're about to go caching. Today seemed like a good day to finally go after this one. We had at least on all of our drive bys spotted the entrance to the fire trail, so we had the hardest part already done . Nice little walk & we were soon at GZ.
What a great little spot, the kids wanted to stay here & play for a bit. Took a bit of persuasion (of the promise of pizza kind) to persuade them to leave.
Took the yowie swaggie. It was probably happy & content in this spot, but I'm sure I can find it another nice spot to hang out in.

I once live in Warrimoo for 23 years and never knew about this fire trail. It was a pleasant walk along to the back fence of the power station and a quick duck down into the bush. Found out I went a little further in than I needed when finding the cache in an awesome little spot. Impressive! Cool cache as well, first one that I've seen in this size and shape. Some nice views to the west into the florabella creek valley. A Great Cache All Round! Took parrotfish, left orange bouncy ball. TFTC!
Checking this one out on the online map, I puzzled a bit as to where the fire trail actually began, although I could clearly see it running around the back of the large, fenced electricity station. On the ground, I saw clearly that it goes it off the Great Western Highway under the electricity pylons, and it was easy to park there. The house nearby is actually derelict.
Walking down the fire trail, I quickly saw that it was ungated. You could drive an ordinary 2WD most of the way to GZ and a 4WD to within 25 metres or so. In any case, I walked the trail all the way and enjoyed the filtered views out over the valley once I had cleared the nearby houses. It's only about 250 metres or so and then you veer off into the bush and start the serious searching!
The title of the cache is the only clue you'll need. It was a lot of fun! If I were ten years old, I'd be hanging out here, for sure.
My GPSr thought the published coordinates were a few metres off, so I'll upload my suggested coordinates. Nevertheless, the CO has given us all we need to find this nifty little cache, in a nice bushy place.
Cache container is very sturdy and in good shape. Contents were nice and dry. I dropped off the 'Crag the Mangrove Yowie' swaggie. TNSL.
When I walked back, I decided to go around the electricity station fence the other way. This is by far the quickest way to GZ on foot. However, when I got to the sealed driveway, I found a locked gate! Luckily I'm rather slim, so squeezed through a space between the gate and the wall and reached the GWH, where I walked back to the GeoBuru. Of course, I don't recommend this route to others!
Many thanks to hardtail for a good one! I enjoyed it. 'Three Thumbs Up' for the cubby!

I finally got around to do this cache, I had to see a friend in Warrimoo so that was a great opportunity.
Lovely location, found the track with no problems, once at GZ the first spot I looked at seemed promising but me being me I disregarded it and looked all over the place, in the end checking where I should have done in the first place. I must trust my instinct!
The cache is in perfect condition, took nothing, left Yowie and Olympic pin.
Thanks for a great location, loved the placement.

Found the vache this time with the aid of a little helper!
What a lovely spot. Easy to forget how close you are to the busy highway.

Went out to look for this. No luck today, just the burnt out pot! We shall return!

On a very windy day thought this would be a quick cache. It is a nice short walk. The cache is well hidden. Left a ball and took nothing.

This cache has tempted me on the GPSr screen everytime I've driven past. Surprisingly the walk in was quite easy and the cache location nice and peaceful.
The cache was easily found, especially as it was sitting out on the floor of the cubby. Replaced it back where it should be and placed a small rock in front of it to stop it from sliding down again.
On the way in I noticed a strange sign. Does this have something to do with a challenging puzzle cache south of here?

This was our first ever attempt, we enjoyed the short walk, and the thrill of the hunt. However, while we did not know what we were looking for, we did find a burnt out pot hidden amoung/under the rocks, and looking at previous comments like "dont want to give away the pot" I assume we found what was the remains after a bush fire.
Isn't it irritating when someone writes, "I found it in a minute" and it takes you 20 minutes! Somehow I got into the wrong area (I won't explain why as I'll give the pot away) and searched hard to no avail. Then I got into the right area, and bingo!, I had it in a few seconds. It's easy when you happen on the right spot first. No swaps today. Thanks Hardtail.

Found the track after noticing the marker on the tree at the trail head. Nice walk around to GZ with a tricky hide at the end.
Had a newbie to caching with me and I think he's in.
Nothing in or out.

A nice bush outlook from this spot. Gazing out over the valley & ridges there are very few indications of exactly how close to civilisation you are. Located this cache quite quickly on the way home from shopping. Being a weekend we were also able to pick up some cherries very nearby. Made no swaps today. Thanks hardtail.
Last for our day out caching at #5 @ 5pm
A Short walk and once near GZ there was a very likely place it would be, not easy when your over 6ft tall i wouldn't think it would be very easy for a wider cacher either, signed the log then it was time to head back home.
Thanks for the cache.

Nice hint regarding the fire trail hard tail - I get it.
Went to the spot this morning but couldn't stay long as I had to get to work - so no luck. But on the way home this arvo I had another bo peep. This time I had my geocaching head on and within 2 mins flat I had the cache in hand - I guess I'm just not a morning person...
Anyway great cache, clever and suitably named hide and fantastic swaps - worth the effort. Thanks.
Took pink carabiner and little photo frame
Left Geocaching badge from the USA and an Aboriginal design pen.
Cheers

The firetrail is not obvious from the highway. However it is in the only place that it could possibly be. Power to you.
Took a little while to locate the track leading in to this one, but once we had the track, the cache quickly followed. Love the hiding spot!

I went to this cache with my Dad, Rikki. My first night-time cache. I sent Dad to look in a spot, and he found it.

Our first FTF! Found in the dark at 7:00pm. Saw this cache come up and being so close to home just had to go and attempt to find it. Collected pinkgamr and the GPS and headed off into the night. Took a bit of time to find the right track, but once we were on it the cache was ours in only a few mins.
Pinkgamr did some swaps. TFTC.
