Description
The story of the 3 Billy Goats Gruff is the first cache by GabGab.
Once upon a time there lived 3 Billy Goats Gruff. The billy goats had no more food on their side of the of the meadow, but across the bridge was a meadow full of sweet grass to eat. The problem was that under that bridge lived a very mean troll who would not let them cross "his" bridge. One day, they were so hungry that the billy goats decided to try and cross the bridge.
The littlest Billy Goat Gruff was the first to cross. Trip-trap, trip-trap, trip-trap.
The sound of his little hooves woke up the sleeping troll and he bellowed, "Who is walking across my bridge?
"It is only I" said the littlest billy goat gruff in his very small voice.
"I'm coming up to eat you!" said the angry troll.
"Oh, don't bother with me," said the little goat. "My brother is coming very soon and he is much bigger and tastier than I"
The troll grumbled and stomped, but he let the littlest goat cross the bridge and went back to sleep.
Soon the bigger Billy Goat Gruff started across the bridge. Trip-trap, trip-trap, trip-trap.
The sound of his middle sized hooves woke up the sleeping troll and he bellowed, "Who is walking across my bridge?"
"It is only I" said the middle-sized billy goat gruff in his middle-sized voice.
"I'm coming up to eat you!" said the angry troll.
"Oh, don't bother with me," said the middle goat. "My brother is coming very soon and he is much bigger and tastier than I"
The troll grumbled and stomped, but he let the middle-sized goat cross the bridge and went back to sleep.
Soon the biggest Billy Goat Gruff started across the bridge. TRIP-TRAP,TRIP-TRAP,TRIP-TRAP.
The sound of his large hooves woke up the sleeping troll and he bellowed, "Who is walking across my bridge?"
"It is I, The Great Billy Goat Gruff" said the biggest billy goat gruff in his very loud voice.
"I'm coming up to eat you and I am not waiting for another brother!" said the angry troll.
Up came the troll. The biggest goat put down his head and ran forward. He threw that troll right off the bridge into the river where the current carried him away. The troll was never seen again and the 3 Billy Goats Gruff were able to cross the bridge to enjoy the sweet grass on the other side of the meadow any time they wanted.
Hidden at the Troll bridge you will find my cache.
Take some bread with you to feed the many ducks and swans that live on the lake.
I hope you enjoy my first cache.

Logs
No muggles around here in the dark.
Nice hide
Thanks for bring me here and cache
No trolls about and after a couple of wrong turns the cleverly crafted cache soon had our name added to the log. Not sure we would have found it with out resorting to the hint as it is well hidden.
TNLN . . SL . . Thanks for the hunt GabGab.
1st of 21 GCA/GC.com cache finds today! Quick find to start the day! There were some cool ducks waddling around which made things very interesting! Thanks for the cache.

Thanks for the hide, and a muggle free moment to Log this one
Took bubbles, left coloured pencils.
A few more details have been added to the hint to make it easier to find.
I started looking around without reading the hint using only my mobile phone light for a torch as I had left it in the car.
*beep* phone goes flat, just as I'm reading the hint - annoying!
I gave it a good hard look without a torch, but couldn't come up with the goods. We'll be back one day to log this as a find...
I was on my way out to the event at Merrimu Reservoir this morning and, as is my habit, wanted to break the journey by getting a few caches on the way. I've done virtually all the caches out this way by now, so thought I'd approach from the north and get a few more of c@w's volcano caches and, also, have a go at this one too. I was a bit concerned that an, apparently, easy cache had, as its last log, a dnf by an experienced team - so I'd read the hint and was prepared for a tricky hide - or even a dnf. As it turned out, the cache was extremely well concealed, especially since its been a while since its last find, but it was right where the hint indicated and was really quite a quickie - although it did take a bit of manoeuvring to actually extract it.

Thanks GabGab - I thought I might see you and your Dad at the event (as I logged a couple of caches after this that he'd visited just before me) but I guess you couldn't make it.
Thank you for retelling the story of the 3 Billy Goats Gruff for me today. I will read it out to our 3 grandchildren Piper, Angus & Jedd when we next see them.
I found a couple of Dad’s CCCC cunning series yesterday but your cache was too tricky for me. I know some of the logs talk about a clever hide but I hope it is still there.
We will try again next time we are in the area.

Really enjoyed navigating the streets to get close to GZ. Once we had found a nearby parking spot we walked the short distance to the Trolls hiding spot. After a quick search the sneaky hiding spot was found. Many thanks Gab Gab for a great cache.
TNLNSL
It was defiately a challenge, but in the end we succeeded.
Thank-you very much Gab Gab.
Amazing to see the lake and all the houses surrounding it. When I lived in Melton, more than 20 years ago, this was swampy farmland full of thistles.
Thank you for a great cache Gabgab
Found by Roma and Max.
We are now back in suburbia surrounded by some very impressive dwellings.
These relatively new developments have provided some very suitable hiding places for geocaches, and this is certainly one of them.
We TNLN & SL.
Thank you GabGab for this cache and for bringing us here.
Romax.
Cached & Wackys from SA.
With no muggles, and a good read of the notes, it would have been a quick find. But it took me ages to get a break.
Thanks for a really well stocked cache.
Thanks Gab Gab
Very nice Gab Gab
He only read out the bit about where to find the cache, and I said that I was not driving any further until I heard GabGab's story!
Great story, nice cache.
Thanks, Robmc.

TFTC!
s-Facit was keen to try for a FTF on GabGab's first cache but distance and a busy time of year for the Facit-Family meant that it was some weeks before we could attempt it.
Arrived at GZ and s-Facit & e-Facit were quickly into find mode. Looked in a few logically places before finding the carefully hidden container. s-Facit's enthusiasm in opening the box almost cost us a few swaps but Mrs Facit's lightening quick reflexes retrieved the escaping rubber ball Moved to a more suitable area and completed swaps and log.

Thanks GabGab, we really enjoyed your first cache
Returning home after an afternoon caching, we stopped past this cache to see whether the rest of the caughtatwork family could find the cache without any hints from GabGab or caughtatwork.
With Mrs. caughtatwork in charge of the GPSr we had to wait for the odd muggle to pass and she pounced on what she thought was the cache only get to get a runner full of swamp. Ha! Nothing there.
She threw us a dirty look and proceeded to check a few more places before coming across the cache no too much longer.
Too nothing, left nothing,
Thanks GabGab. It was a great cache to be had and there were many ducks around this afternoon.
