Description

the final oath of a priates life

AN omen showed us where to hole up while we repaired our lady, a tree shped very much like a ship stood out at this locale. the tree likeness to aship was uncanny, with 4 masts and a bowsprit, it reminded them all of the trachery, and was surely a good sign that she wouls soon be underway again. So it was on this spot, that The Treachery, and her crew made thier last oath to the kings of piracy, and to each other. they voewed to also honor the prirate code, no matter what this meant or where it lead them. They were soon to find the the "where" was not that far... being so new to the land, the coopers on board could not find timbers of the size and strength we needed, and said it may be several months before they could harvest and dress enough timber to make all the repairs. So captn pesky, he's our currnet jack-o-lad, has ordered us to collect all the booty, and find th eye of the dragon, as surelty it will show us the way out of our predicament.however we dont think any of us ever hid the eye amongst the shre we had taken away... Perhaps there is more goings on than even our fearless captn be aware of?

I am heading back home after attending the Dayboro Mega event so I decided to grab some GCA caches on the way. I can't believe how many bikes there are on the road in both directions. Do they go up and down for the thrill of the curves? Wow now there's 4 cyclists whizzing down.

I found this cache in good condition and it now carries my name. TFTC TNLN Very HappyClan CerberusClan Cerberus

Headed up to the Morisset/Newcastle region with fitzy_1965 & albida33 to do some GC caching. Picked up a few GCA's along the way.

GCA 2,088.

Found during a trip up north with minniek and Albida33 for the LMHS Series and many other caches along the way.

Headed up to the Newcastle region with an aim to tackle the LMHS Series (which we solved for the recent Mega but didn't have the time for that weekend) and as many bonus caches along the way. With a few hours up our sleeves during the drive up we diverted off the highway for some caches in the Classic Motorcycles Series and some others. This was the next stop for the day. Quick find at GZ. Signed the log, replaced the cache, and we headed off to the next one.

TFTC !!

July 2018 Weekend trip to Watagen National park for the Lake Macquarie History series with Fiztzy_1965 and MinnieK.

On our way north to the target caching region we stopped by here and collected this cache.

Thanks

Found It!
On my way home from the mega event and there's always something nice about taking the old road, so much quieter than the main freeway! So I stopped here for a quick find!

After a fantastic walk to the "narby" GC cache Slow Cooked Aussie Challenge, I spotted an unloved cache not too far from where I parked the car. Parked again a little further up the hill and followed the iPhone to a spot where I quickly uncovered a little container. SL and then found a larger container nearby which was home to an army of ants. Thanks for replacing the log Baktrak and TFTC BOTC

This cache caught my eye for its value in Geosportz this month and it's not too far from home. I pulled up on the highway and switched on the Garmin which told me the cache was way down below, That's one giant leap!. I cursed but then spotted the old barque, minus bowsprit, moored nearby. The captains log was quickly uncovered, but as others found, it's just a lump of wet pulp. I replaced it with a waterproof log roll and new bag, after signing in blood. By now the Garmin had caught up with reality and was happy with the mooring.
Thanks Brethren of the Coast.

Today I travelled back from Nelson bag to Caringbah. With a stop for the reptile park to keep GeoDirk and HanorahTLG happy.

Log is pulp. Container is broken. Views are excellent.

It has been a very long time since the last visitor to this cache, and I was sceptical as to whether I would find anything.
After a very quick search, the old film canister presented itself, and the log inside was still reasonable!
But the pirate "boat" has been decimated by a chain saw!!

The old log was just pulp. The pirate ship has been reduced to a dinghy after a bit of surgery by someone with a chainsaw. Nice views. TFTC.

The ship was a sorry sight with the missing bowsprit, but not as sad as the cache log, a soggy mess that was no longer even readable. I logged on a spare scrap of paper, now in a snaplok bag squeezed in with the paper mache. Thanks for this hide in a very private location.

Found after a short hunt but the log was so soaked I didn't bother trying to unroll it to sign. Needs a bit of TLC and a more waterproof container here. Also I think the terrain needs to be upgraded as it isn't wheelchair accessible. Thanks Brethren.

The log sheet was that wet and stained, it looked very much like the treasure maps of old. Smile

20-Jun-09
Found this, but the ship is in a bad way. Somebody took a chainsaw to the bowsprit! This dislodged the cache which was flooded, making it Very wet. Placed back on deck, as I wasn't sure where it went.

Finally they have opened the road to through traffic. It always a nice change to come home this way instead of the freeway. This reminds me of the great time we had at the associated event. Log was damp and hard to write on. Thanks for the cache.

08-Jan-09
Found this one but the log was damp. Able to write on the log sheet but didn't have a spare piece of paper with me DOH!!!! Sad

04-Jan-09
Found the container laying on the ground with no cammo. The log sheet was saturated, dried it as best I could and managed to sign the log after a couple of attempts. I replaced the container in the spot that it looked like it belonged. TFTC.

Took a curious oath while a curious creature looked on.

Found a good place to park off the road nearby and my caching partner weas right onto what she thought was the target but she couldn't find it. Then I had a go and go it straight away - nice hide! Thanks for the hunt. Log sheet was a little damp. Interesting tree.

Nice quick find on our way back home. TFTC

I really should check for new GCA caches more often, Quick easy find whilst taking the fun way home from work.

22-Oct-06
A relatively easy find, near a tree that looks very much like the remains of a ship.

A.D. and I hunted this down.with some difficulty. Jeep Dog gaurded the Ackomobile, the obvious spot for the hide was empty and eventually A.D. sed he was gonna decipher the hint. So we hunted again and found the little bugger not where we think it originally was. so we fixed that up and set off for our next cache down the hil.
thanks acko

"The weather started getting rough, the tiny ship was tossed. If not for the courage of the fearless crew, the minnow would be lost ..." oops wrong story!

We chose this area of coast as the focus for our raiding party in the quest for "The Eye of the Dragon". Our scurvy crew of blaggards evaded the persistant gaze of Her Majesty's finest who were patrolling this stretch of coast. Stumbling upon a sheltered bay we made anchor, the landing party was soon formed and we made our way to land. Avast, there be the loot!

There was much grumbling amonst the deckhands that no treasure was to be found in the chest, but the capt'n had a wry grin as he noticed the fresh pages of the ship's logbook ... a FTF to be sure!

Arrrgh! Pieces of Eight, Pieces of Eight!
cheers The ELTHAM Mob
