Log another cacher, and score a smilie
If you find another geocacher or team of geocachers "in the wild"
not at an event, and not as part of a planned get together of any sort
including "hey lets stage a pohoto so we can do that locationless cache thingo about meeting another geocacher"
must not be an old encounter ( pre 2007)
all parties must be geoccahcing , or attempting a geocache at the time.
You may log a find by
recording the location co-ords
getting a photo of both of you , or parets of both teams
submitting it here
...
both parties can then claim a find.

My log on, Traumatised Tree (GC2P0H9):
After finding 'Missing maze' I made my way to this cache and was met at GZ by 'Teamnanabombana' and said I shouldn't have any trouble finding it and guess what it was a quick find. I love the camo! Tftc and as we were both on our way to the same next cache we had a great talk while on the way.
It was an amazing experience as we stayed there chatting merrily for about an hour and a half after the find until the "where are you?" phone calls became too insistent and we had to head our separate ways.
A couple of group photos were taken, one before and one after CenturySon arrived, and landau351 has posted the full group shot on here already. To be a little different though (and with apologies to CenturySon), I'll post the pickie of the group before he arrived.
Many thanks Pesky! Geomonkey.
Met Chris Osborne and his sister near GZ. This was only his second geocache! Photo shows the 'Nepean Belle' in the background.
Lots of fun.
Details in log.
Thanks
Whilst on the hunt for Shogun-'s impossible to find cache, FOUND IT No.5 -V2,
I bumped into The Empire (Michael) at WP1. We then moved on to WP2, the
impossible one, and who should turn up but Covert Hypnosis (Justin).
We searched for a couple of hours with no luck but mutually enjoyed the company.
Michael is using a stick as he was recovering from a broken leg.
Met Team Amundsen from Trondheim Norway at " MANGROVE VIEW " cache in Cairns QLD.
Picked up fishin mate to bring up to our place, he doesn't hav ea car.
Went to get a cache B4 setting off to Norf Richmond.
Looked up caches and found Woodstocks Revenge Strathfield Sydney.
Got to GZ and sat on step to sign log.
Alls well SO FAR!
Heard noise around other side of bush, and around same ,in the dark, comes a Security Guard.Well what we thought was Security. jacket baseball hat well it was only then I noticed NAVY sign on cap, "Geocaching"I say? "Yes" phew!
Anyway Jaybeem myself and me mate do the signing and takes the happy Snap and off the Naval CMDR toddles I say "Good Night Sir" (he has Lot more rank than I) and off we set for home.
I posted the pickie on the Caches site saying all the three services him Navy me RAAF(Reserve) and previously Army.
Thanks for a cache site for me to "chin wag" again
Acko and Ute DogII
Roostaman.
Turned out to be Bruce from Liz and Bruce, only a few days before they were due to leave Tassie! Had not met him before but seen lots of his stickers in log books. Was great to meet Bruce and have some help searching for that tricky cache, and hear of his amazing 13,000 finds!
In the end my partner found the cache and we all signed it together, and grabbed a photo for Spotto!
It was great to meet you steptoe.
Cheers
It was great to meet a cacher I had not seen around before, and even better to score a GCA find into the bargain.
The next night I was sitting on the rail at a nearby city cache signing the log, when 2 other cachers appeared and started to search the metal railing 3 feet beside me. If I had been a muggle, the cache would have had a good chance of being nabbed after they found and returned it I think, but luckily all was fine.
And thank you for the lovely comments 2y'stassies! It's really great to know that people out there are enjoying our caches. It was very nice to meet you, too.
This is actually our fourth (or fifth?) random encounter with geocachers in the wild, but the first time having any evidence to log it! So big thanks to whoever remembered this locationless.
I'll make a brief note of previous encounters for posterity:
07-Oct-08: Caught sirius Tas signing the first log of our first ever cache, GA1223 'Wattle We Find'
08-Aug-10: In Amsterdam, random Dutch cacher (Diptera) at random cache on the end of a deserted pier! GCZ1TC 'Ij-Zicht'
23-Dec-10: Some tourist cachers on the beach in Burnie, while forthferalz was looking for GC2KAAF 'Boardwalk Blitz'
... and I just remembered this one...!
22-Nov-11: Camping at GC2MRZ4 'Detention River', a couple turned up and wandered around. They said hello. We thought they were muggles. They thought we were muggles. Then I spied one of them sneaking the cache back, but they'd gone before we had a chance to tell them we were geocachers too!! Checking the log book confirmed they were Darby&Joan from NZ...
Runciple rang me a few days earlier from Berry Springs and told me he had a POW/MIA Geopin he wanted to get to me, so I suggested he drop it in GC18401 Coomalie Pit Stop by Kerr NT because it had only had one find since my previous visit three weeks earlier.
As I slowed before the bridge I saw three young ladies near GZ, and had the thought "cachers or muggles"? After turning into the rest area I could see them still, in the normal aimless meandering of the cacher on the hunt. Knowing exactly where it was hidden I figured it wouldn't be long before they also knew, and this proved to be the case.
After parking near the farthest picnic table, I walked back and met Electra84 in the process of writing her log entry. I offered her a geocoin I was about to drop in exchange for the POW/MIA Geopin, which neither of us realized was trackable.
I explained to Electra84 the opportunity to claim this Locationless cache, and we both got photos of the occasion for that purpose

With landau351 where we met up at a FTF for a GC cache called Evan's lane.
I bumped into LimeSugarLink while attempting the cache, but at the time I could not locate this cache listing (the name got me confused - that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it),
Anyway it's 12th Aug and I re-found this locationless cache while looking for another I had snapped a pic for, and was lucky enough to have not deleted the photo taken for just this cache-find, so here it is.
(will PM LSL now the pic is finally listed too)
Met 4889 at GC2RP4H "The Gresswell Possum Superhighway" today nice to meet you
A great mini event ensued with a couple of tips gleaned. This time I remembered to take a photo in the field (thanks to Jim). It's about time I logged this cache.
The 5 groups teams all converged on this one and chatted (as you do) for ages. Phones were going off left right and centre wondering where we all had gotten too. Luckily I had to pickup my daughter from nearby so I was able hang about on that pretext. Nice to meet so many people and a new face (to me) CenturySon.
On only my 6th cache 'GC16Z66 First to Florey' on 5 November 2007 my kids and I were startled when some strange guy rode his bike up to GZ ?? Seems he was also a 'cacher' and so we made the find together. Oh yeah seems he was a rather experienced cacher as well - mtbikeroz !
Another memorable time was when Sol and I were in Hawaii looking around a shopping area for a cache. We had our GPSs in our hands trying to look inconspicuous, when a guy walks up and asks "Are you guys Cash-ing?". They were from Oregon on holiday - and then spent the next 5 minutes helping us look for the cache (we never did find that one) - even his Father in a wheelchair was helping out !
We also bumped into richlink in Canberra during their around Australia trip a few years ago. I've since caught up with them at the Mega last year as well as visiting them in Bunbury for a fun day of caching.
I always enjoy meeting up with fellow cachers whether its at an event or in the wild !
TFTC !!
I was walking round in circles when yonnie33 arrived and started walking in circles too. Thing is, his circles were better than mine so he got the FTF..
We stopped for a chat and then I had more caches to find.
TFTC,
Roostaman.
The faces were familiar, it is the 'Bearsleys' who we met an an event in Melbourne earlier this year.
Lucky they were here as it was a hard cache (GC287D4).

First mini meet at GC2F3YZ where we bumped into: saulman1010, Trailertrash78, Hazey1, Skip2992, Bigea17 and various kids.
On to the next cache, GC2G1Q9, where we bumped into Crank1 and Alchemy2 (photo attached).
climbed onto rock face, and sat there reading the..logs (or at least playing with phone!), as i watched them poke/prod everything. (oh hi there. I'm totally a muggle. ) I was first thinking "..are they doing maintanance on the bridge or something?"
Then i took the bullet, and asked "..ah..are you guys geocaching?"
turns out it was baldrick61 and jorgies (and puppy), trying to find said cache as well.
And i personally found it. Yippie!
Castle Hill, NSW
pjmpjm meets GazMag
This was a totally unexpected meeting, to say the least. I live in Leura and work in Dural. GazMag lives in North Richmond.
Who would have thought that we'd meet unexpectedly, and exactly at GZ, in Castle Hill?
We were both chasing the FTF, but were beaten by our friend Yurt.
We took each other's photo, but didn't have the sense to try to photograph ourselves together.
Hope this pair of photos is OK!
These unexpectedly meetings with other geocachers is one of the speical delights of our hobby . . . great to see it crystalised in a locationless cache. A very good idea! Wish I'd noticed it earlier.
He managed to find the cache we were looking for and we had a chat.
Thanks mate and it was great to meet you.
Steveishere
This is also my first locationless cache.
Cheers
