This was a bonus find today, we decided to drive to the southern end of the TTSS caches and then make our way back towards Orford. But we couldn't resist an unloved GCA cache while we were so close. We had to dig the container out of the leaf litter that had built up since it's last find but all safe and sound. A great view from here, thanks for the cache
On a trip down to Orford to search for the Tasmanian Tiger Snake Series of caches in the Wielangta National Forest.
Cache is in good condition, but GZ was a long way from where the co-ords placed us, we estimated in excess of 15 metres. We could not rely on the GPS so we kept searching likely candidates until cache was found.

Thanks for the cache Sirius Tas.
RLD4963, the GeoGSP and I were keen to head east and find some geocaches today. It was a lovely sunny day, and we drove along a few roads I'd been before, and a few I hadn't.
This was our lunch stop for the day, and what a great place to have lunch. Thanks so much for placing a cache here, thoroughly enjoyed the views and the hunt.

A long drive on a rough dusty dirt road had me arriving at a fairy scenic lookout. After soaking in the views for a moment or three, got the camera out and snapped off a half decent photo. Then it was off for the hunt and a few likely spots were checked before the right one was found. Container was a little buried and needed a wipe down prior to opening. To my surprise the cache’s contents were dry and in excellent shape.. thanks..!!

Late on Friday night I was looking for somewhere to cache with Goose since the weather looked to be good I wanted to make the most of it going somewhere a bit out of the way, with it being dry for the most part I was happy to pick this cache since bad dirt roads in the dry i'm happy to drive down in my little car.
After getting out of the car we took in the view and it's a bit of a a WOW moment, we can even see a big fire going on the coast and hope it's a planned burn, I looked in the most logical place and couldnt see anything and Goose went to check another area, being sure I was in the right place I searched again and after going past a rock and leaf litter and soil that had formed since the last find I could see the top of the cache and called out to the goose, he was there as I pulled the cache out and it was covered in rich soil but upon opening the cache we found it in very good condition with the logbooks both dry, we added our names and replaced the cache as found and replaced the rock and leaves.
Thanks for bringing me here the views are outstanding.
It turns out the burn was Registered to a private permit holder on MARCHWIEL ROAD, we later got closer to this and could even see the flames roaring along, we were a long way from it but after that we picked caches that were further away.
Thanks again for the cache that turns out to be an oldish GCA with stunning views!

With the day looking to be sunny, stainless steel rat and I decided to come and look for this cache. I know the 'W roads' can be cut up at times so SSR took it slow. There were a couple of rough patches but we've been on a lot worse in his little car lately. We arrived at the lookout and WOW! look at that view.
The accurate coordinates let us to the right place but SSR couldn't find the cache so I checked another 'hint' not too far away but nothing there. Heading back toward him, he called out he'd found something. Eventually he dug out the container which was deep under dirt and leaf litter. After signing the log we enjoyed the view and noted a visitor that has stayed too long who was not driving off any time soon. Thanks sirius Tas for this enjoyable stop and the reason for us having such a good day, cheers goose

Many thanks for the cache update...quite awhile since last find...so well done. Cheers sirius.
Had to go further afield to find a regular cache for the SSS games so headed out on an extremely hot day. Had the coords in the car gps and continued up Bream Creek Road for 1 klm and wondering why it was saying do a u turn. I got swept away by the fantastic view so turned around and bounced up Wielangta Road for 2 klms. Boy that was rough, before arriving at the lookout. Found cache with aid of the hint. A fantastic view from here as well. Deserves recommending. A pity they don't do something about the road. Thanks sirius Tas. Cache in great condition.

Found for the first time in 30 months and still in excellent condition. What a scenic spot to place a cache. Shame about the poor condition of the road though. Thanks for the cache Sirius.

I had taken the APs for a drive, leaving behind wet and blustery Hobart for sometimes sunny and blustery Wielangta Road. When we arrived at this lookout we enjoyed the views, and then it occurred to me to check if there were caches in the vicinity. Fortunately I had added some GCA caches to my Geosphere database, which means this came up. Unfortunately my iPhone was doing it's "I'm not really a GPS so I can't help you much" act, and so I wandered in circles for a bit (and although there were things that matched the clue within my circles it wasn't the right thing). Fortunately I had also thrown (gently) my Garmin in the car, and so, once I plugged in the coordinates I was soon heading in the right direction and signing the log. Thanks, sirius Tas.
We completed a little exploration today as we went from the north-west to the south via the East Coast. We left the Tasman Highway at Buckland and made our way, in a circutious manner. through Nugent and eventually to Marions Lookout. To our surprise there was a grader and a road roller in the carpark - they were working on the road with their operators taking a lunch break. Unfortunately there was quite a haze today and the view was limited. As soon as the road crew left we went to look for the cache. Accurate coordinates led to a quick find; the cache and its contents were in good condition. We must return to the vantage point when the weather conditions are better for long range views. Thanks Sirius Tas for the cache.
First cache of the day on our east coast caching adventure. Spent awhile enjoying the view, the sea was calm, were thinking we should be fishing instead of caching. TFTC.

A nice, quick find at a lookout with great views on this bright, sunny day. Had hoped to do the Three Thumbs hike today but the road was closed further along so we were glad to have other caches in the area we could find.
Many thanks sirius Tas

We realised on 16 Feb 2013 that we had already found this cache way back on 12 Aug 2012 but somehow forgot to log it. Fantastic views! TFTC
Found on our East Coast holiday/caravanning/caching trip. Drove here from Orford on the Forestry Rd. Easy find no muggles about, view was hazy today could just make out coastline TFTC

Another lovely view. Everywhere you go in Tasmania there is just something amazing to look at. This is our home state and caching has taken us to so many places we really should have seen before. Surprised to see two solo roosters wandering around at this lookout but they looked nice and fat and healthy. Found cache with help of the hint. TFTC.
Oh dear!! Left home in the new geomobile but unfortunately it doesn't look too impressive any more after travelling the wet muddy road to this cache. Guess it had to get dirty eventually!! Views were worth it. But not looking forward to the big clean up when we get home tomorrow. Thanks.
Took a little finding as GPS was playing up.
Dropped off GeoCoin will have to go back and retrieve it as I can not log it into a Geocaching Australia cache.

I've never stopped at this lookout before. Very nice views. Also met some nice Queenslanders who were enjoying a tour around and were especially impressed with the cost and quality of our fruit and veg! Thanks for placing the cache, sirius.
It's a fair view from Marion's Lookout
The Tasman Peninsula stretched out into the distance with the blue seas crashing against it's shores.
Very muggle free up here this afternoon, so finding the cache was easy as.

This was a very quiet drive to a very quiet spot that we had all to ourselves. Found cache but minutes later found ourselves surrounded by several more cars and a huge busload of tourists, all with videos, cameras, etc pointing in our direction... managed to rehide and re-emerge from the thicket without looking too wierd, I hope!
TNLN. Thanks for the hunt, sirius Tas

An unexpected find on our detour off the beaten track - I thought we'd be taking a different route, so hadn't researched this cache. No-one at the lookout when we arrived, but after finding the cache we were surrounded by a busload of tourists. A pleasant spot to stop & stretch our legs.

Bit embarrassing we were soooo close this morning when we had driven through Kellevie looking for this cache only to do a U turn just before the turn off and head all the way to Buckland via Nugent and come in from the Orford end! Wow what an around about way, but we made it! Thanks Sirius. It was worth every extra kilometre and the easy hide had us spending a fair bit of time just enjoying the view which is what I imagine you intended us to do. Took Pen Left Golf Tees. Wouldn't normally take a pen but there were plenty of them! Excellent place for a cache !!
RomanSwamp wanted me to keep driving right off the road and into the bush.....We're heading in the right direction....
Found after putting coords into the handheld GPSr and then following the arrow.
Easy find with JohnnyBoy in tow. TNLN Thanks siriusTas

This cache decided the route we took north(C3360 on the next leg of the trip. It is a spectacular drive through here with forests and farmlands. Thanks for the cache in a great location. We had blue skies over the bay with a great black cloud overhead when we stopped. We moved on when the rain fell. A couple more caches north may bring a few more along this sectacular drive.
thanks for the cache.
