06-Mar-21
Cache replaced with a better waterproof container.

08-Jul-19
Log book completely saturated. Didn't have me caching supplies so couldn't replace it.

08-Jul-19
Found it but unable to sign log as container was half full of water.

17-May-19
i pulled up in the parking lot thinking this should be a reasonably easy find, but little did i know as i walked round the bottom of the hill that i was in for a big shock, i got to about 15m off ground zone when the GPS pointed directly up the hill. i battled my way straight up the hill which was a struggle but well worth the reward with the views, once upon ground zone using the hint the cache container was found.
This container was full of water so i drained out the container to find a soggy slimy log book inside, scratched my name in there and put the cache back.
would say this cache needs a visit from owner to replace soaked items.

01-Jan-19
We made our way up and along penguin tracks and did battle with prickles, buzzies and grasses. DD was not at all appropriately attired, having chosen shorts and sandals, but battled on regardless. We were rewarded with a cache, but unfortunately the cache was more like a pond and the logbook was both soaked and slimy. We scratched rather than wrote our names. We really couldn’t do anything much to rectify the situation (other than emptying water) so it really needs an owner visit. TFTC

Went slightly wrong way at first as I was by myself and was my first cache too, but eventually persistence paid off. A little tricky with the terrain but overall a pretty quick and easy find. Tftc.

31-Mar-16
We made a bit of a meal out of getting to this one. As it was on the point we followed the coastline around until the GPSr said 15-20m. Up!! Mr Tardis fought his way up, finding all sorts of hint related items as he did so. Eventually he came out on top where the going was easier. A further poke around eventually unearthed the prize. Meanwhile, Mrs Tardis did the sensible thing by backtracking to the right access point for the nearby GC where we both met up once again. We probably added an extra terrain star needlessly but it was fun anyway. Thanks Sirius.

Parked in the nearby layby and took the walk, over the train line and then up the rocks. A neat path made it easy. Then continued on towards GZ, where a short search revealed the cache. Took a minute to get to it, but all was good and the log was signed. Grabbed a photo out to see before heading back to the car.

Thanks Sirius Tas.....great spot for a cache.

Our first find for the day. It was hot and sweaty work to get to gz but we enjoyed the walk and views. Cache retrieval was a bit tricky but a bit of stick work made it reachable. This is the first time we have walked out here so thank you for the experience. TFTC

27-Jul-14
Have driven past this location so many times but decided to give it a go today. Found our way up and followed the track to GZ. mr sharnie's tribe made a quick find while I admired the view. Then for the more difficult trip back down!! How do the little penguins get up and down here? Picked up the TB to further it's travels. TFTC

06-Feb-14
Cache cleaned...log all ok. TB still there too.

23-Jul-13
Yay! This was our second find which was very exciting. It was rather damp though and one of the pens was leaking a bit which made it interesting.

26-May-13
really enjoyed looking for this one. got some great photos in the process . contents of cache has got damp at some point.

06-Jan-13
Mr W did the climb through very overgrown vegetation to find GZ. Log book damp and not easy to sign. Great view. TFTC.

Love this spot - haven't been here on top for over 20 years so many thanks for getting me back here. We used to be able to drive in and park in the old quarry site which has recently been planted out by one of those tree planting groups.
A fairly easy find as I was familiar with the site. The container had about 20ml of water in it but the sealed bags did their job although logbook dampish. I think the fact the container was placed on its edge caused the problem so I replaced it sitting on its base. Some tracks up are now over-grown from 20 years ago. I suggest a couple of way-points for ease and safety. WP1 S41 00.803 E145 47.078 on track by old quarry entrance. Then walk over and up to WP2 S41 00.781 E145 47.057. From there it's an easy stroll with great views all the way Smile

Made a quick find of this one. Its a great location and we would think very fishy. Top cache

14-Jun-11
Wandered off following our noses and ended up at the bottom of the cliff. It's just up there I say mmmmmmm we can climb up there yes yes we can. We did and soon had cache in hand. Great views well worth stopping. Thanks for the cache

Good to have a bit of a challenge. Great spot

I'm a Gnome, duh! found it with a good climb

20-Sep-10
A very tricky climb - we assumed the cache would be on the shore line as we followed teh path around - no - then a climb which it looks like people have done before.

Cache was found by Geo Kid A

Hi Sirius; I just loved this cache. Had been caching all day and then this challenge. I attacked it from the bottom out on the point. Loved the rock scramble. Then the thrill of the find. Great!! Logged and replaced it at 1635hrs just as the sun was getting lower in the sky; great view and the colours were tremendous. Back to cachemobile, just jumping out of my skin. Thanks for great finish to what had been a good days caching. Cheers OldSaint.

02-May-10
loved the walk it was really hard for we didn't have a clue on where it was but when we looked over there was the pine tree laying on the ground then we were right from there. it was so fun!

T - small pen
L - necklace

A couple on the beach prospecting as we walked by. He had the metal detector, headphones, special shovel, hip bag and lots of other stuff I could not make out. She just had a pan for panning. We had the cache and then out of there!

30-Jan-10
We have driver past this landmark many times but never taken the time to stop and explore. Today was different. After finding the cache numerous photos were taken of the coastline.

26-Jan-10
Found on Australia Day. Saw a snake as we left the area - the first we've seen whilst caching. Took crab & left soldier. TFTC

Spectacular views from up here. It was dusk and the moon was slowly casting it's glow across the water, started cursing myself for not bringing the camera, but there is always next time.

Got a scare on the way up. As to who got the bigger scare, me or the penguin (that soon made it known that I was invading its space), is still up in the air. Turned around, backtracked and found another way up. Well worth the climb to GZ for the cache and the views.

Gah! I am such a dufus. What should you NOT do when you have torn the cruciate ligament in your knee? Well go for this cache of course! After being told of the magnificent opportunities for whale watching at this spot, and desperately wanting to see the view from here, I ignored my knee, and followed Blind Betty (BB) into the thistles, blackberries and buzzies. After using BB as a very efficient spider web clearer, I scaled a rock to find this cache...and realized in my enthusiasm that I couldn't make the requisite bendy movements to reach the cache, so I made poor BB scale the rock as well and remove the cache for me.

After admiring the view and finding no whales, I logged this cache, and decided to go a different way back, as my knee couldn't face the climb back down...so I went the hazardous cliff way which was actually quite exciting!! I wouldn't recommend it though of course, I dont want to sound irresponsible Wink. When we got to the bottom I looked some some weird creature with buzzies stuck all over me (and BB had collected an assortment of flora in the cuff fold of her jeans). My knee now really hurts, but what a view! It was such an impressive place for a cache, and worth a little pain and scratches! Thanks for the cache Sirius, you mountain goat you!

The sort of Sirius cache that I love, that is one with a small dose of adventure. For some reason I followed dean erwins and DnKT's route and ended up at the base of the cliff, so close to the cache but so yet so unreachable. After an investigation of the rocks that was abruptly cut short by the rain squall I decided I had better find the cache before heading home. The rain bucketed down, the mossy rocks became slippery and my boots had little tread and with caution suggesting to give up the hunt I had get the GPSr out of my dry pocket. A quick glance was enough to have me stepping in the right direction before the find and signing one of the quickest logs that I have ever written in an attempt to keep it dry. The rain found a bigger bucket to tip from, so not waiting to admire the grey horizons I carefully made my way back to the car. Thanks Sirius.

What a beautiful day we had for caching today! We headed in along the path and thought we were on our way towards the cache but we found ourselves at the bottom of the big vertical drop mentioned in the description. After a wander we soon found the right spot and the cache in the first place we looked. D did try for some time to pull the cache out from the front of the crevice but a quick read enabled me to send him to the rear. A great spot for a cache!

If you take the high road and I take the low road then there is every chance that you will find the cache before I do... From GZ there is a fantastic view up the coast in both directions. When I figured out where the cache was hidden I tried to reach it from the front (and wondered how I was going to get it out) before being told that it should be easier from behind.

06-Sep-09
We had a great time doing this cache - brought a brand new cacher along with us and she's hooked. Mission accomplished! Thanks for the great spot. Cache was wet inside so we drained it and replaced it.

TNLN Thanks!

Nice little walk up the hill on a glorious day. Easy find.

11-Apr-09
A beautiful day. The boys and I went searching while D went rock crawling. Boys also found a huge cave where they went exploring. We found it from below and had to scramble up the cliff to get to the cache.

06-Apr-09
great spot for rock climbing ( under and over)

17-Mar-09
A fun stroll to find a cache.
Of course I headed off along the shoreline to find it.
But it became obvious that my elevation needed some consideration if I was to find the cache.
I found the trail up through the blackberries Razz and arrived at the top with a view.
A bit of scrambling around and I eventually spotted me a cache too.
Just the tonic on a day of caching.

Found it at 13:00. TNLNSL. Thanks

What an outstanding view from up there. Co-ords and clue good and well worth the effort. TNLN Thanks Sirius

Found after approaching the cache the hard way.
(Yes, I *should* have read the description, but hey, that's the way I roll Smile)

Great views form near GZ. I sat on a rock and soaked up the view before heading back down to the car.

Thanks for the cache!

01-Nov-08
Great little walk out to the point. God description made finding the cache easy.
Nice place. Thanks sirius Tas

01-Nov-08
March Brown walked straight to this cache as if he had been there before.
Such a beautiful day to be up here and enjoying the lovely views from these caches on the coast.
Thanks sirius

30-Oct-08
Came after sunset, was getting quite dark by the time we found the cache. Think we scared some of the poor little penguins; tried not to use the torch too much but it was rather necessary, didn't want the rocks to live up to their name. Nice view of the Burnie lights. TFTC.

06-Oct-08
Found an alternate route up and back and came around the back of GZ. Cache found quickly. Cache had water inside but contents and log were OK.
TNLN, thanks sirius.
Find #25 on my "Will I Make It To Launny Tonight?" Tour.

Will come back - found something that looked like the hint but went around by the waters edge and didn't climb very much so must have been in the wrong way thinking it was placed like the old GC mulit cache out here - wonder if that has been retrieved? An elevation reading is always useful for caches placed near cliffs or steep and winding paths.

29-Jun-08
Approached this one from the wrong direction so had to climb up the drop which wasn't too bad. Once I was up found t without any trouble. No swaps because i left them in the car.

Thanks again Sirius, nice hide.

03-Apr-08
Found this well hidden on a windy and showery afternoon, but the hike was well worth it. Think I have made a bit of a blue, though, as left a GC here, thinking it was a GC cache (not GCA one). Will stop by and pick it up in a few days when returning from adventures further west if it hasn't been retrieved in the meantime.
Thanks for the hunt in a great spot, sirius Tas.
[Edit] Picked up GC... also forgot to mention that there were people panning for gold on the beach - in the drizzling rain and wind - so must have been pretty keen.

11-Feb-08
Driving by so thought I'd check. Cache in perfect condition in its original spot...well covered. Cheers.

09-Jan-08
The kids looked hard but coudn't find it. We will go and have another look soon. Thanks for having a cache near by that we could try.

21-Oct-07
Nice hide, thanks Sirius.
Shouldnt have worn shorts - briars made a mess of my very white legs!

06-Oct-07
Great walk and climb! And awesome vista! Thanks for taking us to such a great spot.Took glitter, left pink tealight candle and holder.

15-Sep-07
This is a " siriusly" good cache. I took the hard way up (typical). a bit of a challenge but the cache was where it should have been.left the way I should have entered. TNLNSL. Thanks for a very good cache.

11-Sep-07
We climbed up and found it. I led the way. Took pen and left yo-yo. Thanks. I took a shortcut back to the car and beat my auntie.

11-Sep-07
I've driven by this place countless times over the years, but never been on the beach or out on top of the rocks. Great views. Accompanied by Coco-Pop who took pen, left yo-yo. TFTC.

20-Jul-07
We got within 1m of this cache at night without torches but deemed it a bit unsafe to continue searching around the rocks. Got back to location today just on sun set - great way to end a week and fantastic sunset. Good hide.

27-Jun-07
Took me a little bit of searching but soon came up withe the goods

A friend has just bought a new explorist XL, so what better way to teach someone how to use a GPS than to take them caching? this was an easy find with the XL (I want one). although the explorist 100 was pointing in the same direction as his, for a fraction of the cost.

Excellent fun thanks Sirius Tas, TNLN

Oh, beware of some of the moss covered rocks, they don't look slippery but trust me, they are!

A FTF for deegees. A great cache in a great spot. I have fed fish successfully (for the fish, not me) about 30 metres from here. I plan for an Earth Cache near this point. TNLNSL TFTC
